Thankfully, the people who hanged him did not tie the noose properly meaning his life was spared. This botched attempt at killing Roger allows Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) to arrive and save him, leaving him alive, but almost unable to speak anymore. Despite this fantastical turn of events being highly entertaining for readers, this may end up being one of the events that changes in the upcoming fifth season. As Roger has gone up against a lot of turmoil in the recent seasons of the STARZ show, could he now be due to die? Eugenie Bouchard, 24, is the stunning Canadian tennis player known just as much for her good looks as she is her tennis career. The tennis professional has made a name for herself in the modelling industry, posing twice for the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Despite winning in the looks department, her tennis game has suffered setbacks recently, being knocked out of Wimbledon and withdrawing from the Swiss Open. However the 24-year-old is back in the game, competing in the Rogers Cup Canadian Open. Taking to her Instagram the sexy blonde showed off her recent comeback, by posting a “wet t-shirt” video to her 1.7 million fans. The video showed Eugenie beaming on the blue court, wearing a tiny sports outfit. Showing off her washboard abs, the blonde wore a tight black sports bra and tiny pair of black Nike short. She wore her blonde hair tied up with a teal green Nike sports cap. The star is sponsored by sporting giant Nike, always kitted out in its finest sports apparel. Laughing to the camera, she is seen squeezing out her sweat-soaked pink t-shirt, with liquid drenching the court beneath her. The fun-loving star captioned the post: “WET TSHIRT CONTEST (sweat version).” The cute clip seemed to delight her followers, with many praising her for her comeback and sweaty performance. One wrote: “Your so cute @geniebouchard [sic]”, with another commenting: “Good luck in the tournament Genie, love you.” For the Rogers Cup Eugenie will have a home advantage, playing in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec. The advantage might help spur her on, after an injury to her right thigh that forced her to withdraw from the semi-final of the Swiss Open. The blonde once ranked among the top five tennis players in the world but has since fallen out of the top 100. Sweaty tennis shots aside, the tennis player turned model is also known for posting stunning bikini shots on her Instagram feed. This week she posted a selfie in a sexy black swimsuit with cut out details across the front. Eugenie wore little to no make-up as she gazed into the camera. Her long blonde hair was flicked over her shoulder and her hand seductively behind her head.

Bethesda may have something to tell all of us on May 14. That’s if we can trust some of the clues in images the publisher is posting to Twitter today. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim publisher is on the road to the Electronic Entertainment Expo trade show, and it is taking everyone along for the ride. Yesterday, the company suggested that Rage 2,…Read More

It’s been a little more than two years since Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuted, introducing Ben Affleck‘s Batman to the world. Remember when the Internet was obsessed with arguing about this movie? I never thought I’d actually find myself yearning for those days, but the world was a different place back then. Less bleak. Less grim. Less…Knightmarish.
Snyder has been mostly quiet since he stepped out of the Justice League director’s chair last May, but now he’s resurfaced to explain what the heck was going on in that Batman-centric Knightmare scene in Batman v Superman.
Let’s time warp back to the halcyon days of 2016, long before the election of America’s own embarrassing version of Lex Luthor. Back to a time when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrived in theaters, murdered an unnamed Jimmy Olsen in cold blood as a joke, launched a million “Martha” jokes, and made us look at Jesse Eisenberg’s piss in a jar. Oh, and this happened:
According to LRM Online, Snyder recently answered a fan question about this scene on Vero, the director’s preferred social media platform, and he hinted at a version of events that may not happen anymore. When asked if the scene takes place in an alternate timeline or if it mirrors Superman’s path in the Injustice video games (in which Superman becomes a brutal dictator following the death of Lois Lane), Snyder responded:
“…Or if someone lost someone close to them they might be susceptible to a certain Equation and might blame a certain Bat for events that a too soon Bruce would know nothing about.”
The “equation” to which Snyder refers is almost certainly the Anti-Life Equation, a mathematical formula that results in total control of the minds of sentient beings. Darkseid – the villain alluded to in the Knightmare sequence who has a fondness for the Omega symbol – believes the equation lies in the subconscious of humanity…or something. (Comics are weird, ya’ll.)
Either way, the Knightmare scene seems to be hinting at events that now seem unlikely to be explored in the current DC movie universe. Things are very much up in the air at DC Films right now, with the studio seemingly concentrating more on projects like Aquaman, Wonder Woman 2, and the new banner of one-off stories set in a separate cinematic universe, like that Joker origin movie.
Interestingly, the Anti-Life Equation was a creation of Jack Kirby, who created New Gods, a series about the conflict between the peaceful New Genesis and the dystopian Apokolips, the latter of which Darkseid calls home. Ava DuVernay is directing a New Gods movie for DC Films, so maybe she’ll be able to take this bizarre baton from Snyder and bring it to the big screen in one form or another.

Apple
Apple CEO Tim Cook is taking a page out of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ playbook.
Apple announced on Wednesday, among other initiatives, that it plans to build a new campus in the United States, as part of an effort to hire 20,000 new Apple employees over the next five years.
Where will the new campus go? Apple said only that it will be announced later this year, and declined to comment if it already had a location in mind.
The whole process sounds a lot like Amazon’s process for what it calls “HQ2,” in which the e-commerce giant solicited bids from American cities for where it should spend an estimated $ 5 billion build a new, second headquarters for 50,000 employees.
But while Amazon openly invited a bidding war, with 50 cities whose officials are preparing packages of tax breaks and other perks for the tech company, Apple didn’t comment on whether it was soliciting bids or planned to have municipalities compete for the new campus.
It’s not Apple’s style to do a public contest — but given that Amazon received 238 different bids from cities, it’s safe to say that there are some economic development agencies putting together packages for Cook and Apple.
Mesa Apple is no stranger to the game of getting tax breaks in exchange for creating jobs.
So it won’t be surprising if Apple’s new campus has a special tax status negotiated with state or local governments — even if Apple isn’t holding a public auction of sorts, the way Amazon is.
Here’s a short, incomplete list of recent tax breaks Apple has received in the past decade:
Although Axios reports that Apple isn’t “putting out a big request for proposals,” given that some municipalities are putting together packages worth as much as $ 7 billion in tax incentives for Amazon, Apple would be irresponsible not to see what city and state governments are willing to pay for Apple’s shingle.

Apple has the best customer service because we have the best people. Thrilled to see #AppleCare advisors in action today in Austin! pic.twitter.com/OHzQEmgG4C
When Amazon announced HQ2, it said that it expected its new offices to be a “full equal” to its current Seattle campus.
Apple’s new campus won’t be its “second campus” and is unlikely to rival its current headquarters, at 1 Infinite Loop, or its new $ 5 billion headquarters, Apple Park, both in Cupertino, California.
In fact, Apple already has several large campuses around the country, including satellite offices scattered around Silicon Valley and a big network of offices in Austin, Texas.
The jobs available at this new campus are unlikely to be high-skilled programming jobs making the next iPhone that come with huge salaries often found in California. Apple likes to do its engineering and design close to home in California, both for reasons of security as well as work culture.
As Apple noted in its announcement, the new campus will initially house “technical support for customers.” Much of that work is currently done in Austin, Texas, as reported by the New York Times in late 2016.
The Austin campus, perhaps the closest analog to Wednesday’s planned campus, employs 6,000 workers, according to the Times. Workers at the Austin campus work on Apple’s online music and app stores, handle finance and operations, and field tech support calls.
Even in Apple’s hometown of Cupertino, California, non-engineering teams like those for the App Store or for cleaning maps are often located in satellite offices, not at Apple headquarters.
Here’s an example of the kind of tech support work that could take place at the new campus:
“During the recent visit, Stephanie Dumareille, a senior adviser on iOS issues who is fluent in English and Spanish, patiently answered questions from a customer who was worried about saving her résumé online and did not know whether she was using a Windows or a Mac computer.”
Glassdoor estimates a $ 38,000 annual salary for technical support agents at Apple in Austin.
Steve Kovach/Business InsiderYes, Apple did just finish a new, stunning campus in California. Called Apple Park, it boasts amazing perks, including a huge gym, outdoor fruit trees, and huge four-story glass doors.
It is not, however, big enough for all Apple employees. Apple Park will hold 12,000 employees — but the company has 25,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area alone. Divisions seen as less important, like App Store workers and retail operations, will remain in satellite offices scattered around Silicon Valley.
In fact, Apple employs 84,000 people in the United States, including retail employees, it said on Wednesday. Apple’s employee base has grown as the number of iPhones it needs to service and support has also skyrocketed. In 2015, for example, Apple added 17,400 employees, according to SEC filings.
So in some ways Apple’s pre-announcement of a new campus was as much about Apple’s prodigious growth as American investment or a commitment to create 20,000 jobs.
But by withholding the actual location of the campus, Cook took a cue from Amazon, and turned what would’ve been just another new office into a media event — and likely some tax breaks too.

Whatever the Polestar Concept will look like, it will provide the first glimpse at what we can expect visually from the new all-electrified performance brand. Whether that means literally all-EVs or EVs and hybrids is still to be announced. One jigsaw piece that didn’t make Car’s rendering is what looks to be an exhaust opening (below), which would certainly indicate that hybrids are on the table.

Regardless of its power source, we’re thrilled at the prospect of Volvo’s design language being applied to a performance-oriented car. If a three-row family hauler like the XC90 looks that good, imagine a production version of the Concept Coupe. Should be a stunner.

Holly Willoughby, 36, was seen pulling a shower curtain down with her bare bum cheeks during one extremely saucy game and the antics certainly didn’t end there, with her then being quizzed about how many empty bottles had been found in her bin.
As part of the Buzzer round, Keith asked: “How many vodka miniatures were found in Holly Willoughby’s bin?” as Fearne Cotton, 36, answered: “It’s a Thursday, I reckon 12.”
However, a defiant Holly insisted: “Zero because I don’t drink miniatures, I drink litres,” which went down a storm with the audience and her fellow panellists.
The clip comes as the video showing Holly ripping down the shower curtain with her bottom was unveiled.
The footage saw the This Morning bombshell wriggling around trying to get a good grip on the curtain before yanking it down when given the go-ahead by Keith.
Keith recently dished the dirt on the cheeky new game that involves all the presenters as the much-loved show returned for a brand new series.
Speaking to The Mirror Online, Keith, also known as Leigh Francis, confessed: “We have a new game where you have to rip a shower curtain out of a shower using only your bum cheeks and Holly was extremely good at it.
“But she cheated, because she said she was going for a wee, but she didn’t.”
Celebrity Juice airs tonight at 10pm on ITV2.
In the well-known tradition of the Marvel movies, the streaming service snuck the teaser in at the end of The Defenders series, which was released last week.
The trailer doesn’t give too much away about the upcoming programme, which marks the first solo outing for Punisher, A.K.A Frank Castle (played by John Bernthal).
Opening with the vigilante smashing up the concrete floor with a sledgehammer, Castle narrates: “Memories, they never hurt me. The past is more than memories, it’s the devil you sold your soul to.
“He’s coming. He’s coming to collect,” he growls.
Interspersed with scenes of Punisher’s violent encounters and snippets of his past, the trailer hints at his emotional scarring after the murder of his family.
The series will delve into his backstory after season two of Netflix‘s Daredevil introduced him as a supporting character, revealing his gun-loving tendencies and his determination to seek revenge.
After seeing that a bloody death befell anyone who played a part in his family’s murders, The Punisher will pick up at the aftermath of the events of Daredevil season two.
At the end of the montage in the trailer, the shot zooms out to reveal the results of him beating up the ground, showing the shattered concrete forming the iconic Punisher skull logo.
The stand-out moment of the one-minute clip, however, comes at the end, when Netflix hint at the release date being some time in 2017, intentionally obscuring the exact day and month.
The Punisher will air later this year on Netflix.
Sega is probably going to release the cult shooter Vanquish on PC. It’s already done that with Platinum’s Bayonetta, and now the company has once again teased Vanquish, another masterwork from the studio.
Without any context, Sega posted an image on its social media this morning that contains an odd logo and the year “2017.” Some fans guessed that the publisher is hinting at a new Anarchy Reigns or that Russians have finally hacked the company’s Twitter profile. But eagle-eyed Vanquish players will recognize the logo because it was on the shoulder of one of the characters in that fast-paced, futuristic action game, which sold nearly a million copies following its 2010 debut, according to Sega.
— SEGA (@SEGA) May 8, 2017
Vanquish’s main villain, Victor Zaitsev, wears the above logo on his armor. It is the emblem for the Order of the Russian Star, and you can see it clearly in the image below.
Above: Check the shoulder pad.
This could be another indicator that Sega is doing something with Vanquish, and all signs suggest the company is planning to resurrect the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game on Steam. The publisher has already publicly said it wants to do that.
“We are dedicated to bringing high-quality, best-practice PC conversions of our back catalog games to our fans, and Bayonetta was a great fit,” Sega Europe publishing vice president John Clark said in a press release at the time of Bayonetta’s relaunch on PC.
And then in late April, Sega updated Bayonetta on PC to include a Vanquish screenshot.
All of that evidence combined with the “2017” in today’s tease suggests that Vanquish is probably rolling out to a personal computer near you before the end of the year. And I really can’t wait to replay that game in 4K.

Pokemon Go has now officially past 650 million downloads worldwide, a sizable number for the popular Android and Apple app.
The new details were confirmed during the 2017 Game Developers Conference in which we also found out more on the planned update schedule.
Fans have been pondering when the next major drop will occur, what with Niantic already confirming that at least two more major updates are being primed for 2017.
Niantic chief technology officer Phil Keslin went a step further today, teasing that while those major patches will look to refresh the game much like the Gen 2 update did, they won’t be the only ones.
Keslin confirmed that regular content updates are being planned, suggesting that the game will be peppered with smaller ones between the larger releases.
July 2017 seems the next likely date for major Pokemon Go update no.2, what with it being Pokemon Go’s anniversary month.
Other interesting tidbits were also offered up by Niantic during GDC 2017, including the fact that Pokemon Go players on Android and Apple have now managed to walk a fair distance.
The new milestone now stands at approximately 8.7 billion kilometers (5.4 billion miles) traveled while playing the game, and “just shy of Pluto,” according to Keslin.
It follows the news that Pokemon Go attracted 12 million players with the release of the Gen 2 update, and climbed back up the app charts.
That’s according to data collected by Wandera (via Forbes), which reveals that players have already started switching off again.
The 12 million player spike is also nowhere near the heights achieved by the game last summer, when Pokemon Go peaked with around 25 million players.
The release of Gen 2 did coincide with a cash boost for the game, but the earlier Valentine’s update was the lowest grossing event since launch.
Niantic will be hoping that the next major updates perform better, although they’re currently without a release date.
