Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) step out on their own in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is set to premiere Friday, March 19 on Disney+. New photos tease an action-packed adventure for the mismatched Marvel duo. The upcoming series, which takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, finds Sam and Bucky navigating a world post-Steve Rogers’ Captain America. The six-episode series is described as a “cinematic experience” that will see the pair team up for “a global adventure that tests their abilities — and their patience.” Expect plenty of action — and even some comedic moments — from this truly entertaining pair. Head writer and executive producer Malcolm Spellman previously opened up to TVLine about how race will be a core part of the show’s storyline through Sam, who is Black and weighing the heavy decision to take up the Captain America mantle. (Rogers handed him the Cap’s shield in Endgame.) Spellman hopes the show will positively impact Black youth much like 2018’s Black Panther. “I believe that Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a nice progression with the mantle that [Black Panther director Ryan] Coogler and Chadwick [Boseman] left us,” Spellman said. “I really do believe that these giant Black icons are necessary, not only for Black kids, but for white kids to start to absorb — our people as being big and heroic.” Alongside Mackie and Stan, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will also feature Emily VanCamp reprising her role as Sharon Carter and Daniel Bruhl returning as Baron Zemo. In addition, The Enemy Within‘s Noah Mills and Supergirl‘s Carl Lumbly are set to appear in unspecified roles, and Lodge 49‘s Wyatt Russell is set to portray John Walker (who adopts the superhero alter egos U.S. Agent and Super-Patriot in the comics). Check out the new first-look photos in the gallery on the right — or click here for direct access — and then hit the comments below to share your first impressions.

After a series of robberies are tied to missing lockbox keys, Voight enlists Cruz to go undercover at another firehouse and unearth which firefighter has been abusing their access to the master key. Only Boden, Casey and Severide know what Cruz is really up to, while the rest of 51 is left to believe that Cruz is being punished for leaving equipment on site. (This cover story would perhaps be more believable if Severide wasn’t constantly mentioning how Cruz is his best man.)
As Cruz joins the engine crew of a nearby lowly firehouse, he witnesses one of the firefighters, Suggs, handing off the lockbox key to someone in a car. Cruz is conflicted because the young man seems like a good guy. So what could possibly be motivating him to help break the law? Unfortunately, Intelligence doesn’t get a chance to ask Suggs before he’s discovered shot dead in his car.
Later, Halstead and Upton walk in on the robbery in progress, leading the unit to discover that the two young robbers are actually teens from Suggs’ neighborhood whom he was mentoring. He wanted to help them get out from under a gangster’s control by buying their freedom, hence the robberies. In the end, the gang leader is arrested, and the two boys get a deal, while Suggs is proven to have had good intentions.
On the relationship front, Stella has a cute admirer in the form of a man she rescued from a fire. At first, she brushes off his affections as a rescue crush, but eventually, she agrees to go out with him. Meanwhile, her ex Severide insists to Casey that he’s fine and not at all still carrying a torch.
Halstead and Upton also have another loaded conversation that hints at their possible feelings for each other. He wants to know why she backed his play, to which she replies that she trusts his instincts. “You looked at me, and I got it,” she explains. “I trusted you. I’ve trusted you from the day I met you. If I was going to follow someone blind, I’d follow you.” Halstead looks both moved and surprised — and maybe a little confused? — by the confession.

The back half of Arrow Season 7 has plans for ADA Laurel Lance above and beyond her giving Oliver side-eye during his TV news program appearances.
As Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz revealed as part of TVLine’s in-depth midseason preview Q&A, “We are doing a Birds of Prey-inspired episode, that Laurel (played by Katie Cassidy) will be involved with.”
The famously spoiler-averse Schwartz left the tease at that, other than to invite viewers to speculate as to who might join Laurel on that team-up. (In the comic books, the actual Birds of Prey is typically comprised of Black Canary and Oracle/Barbara Gordon, plus a rotation of other female superheroes. The short-lived 2002-2003 TV series featured Oracle, Dinah Lance and Huntress.)
In addition to the above — as well as an episode that will shed light on this Laurel’s Earth-Two backstory — Schwartz said, “We’ll get to see what happens in her overall redemption arc — whether she really did turn over a new leaf, or is she still the same evil Black Siren we met last season.”
Arrow resumes Season 7 this Monday, Jan. 21 at 8/7c; watch for TVLine’s larger midseason preview (…and more) in the days to come.

Emmerdale delivered an epic wedding day for Jessie (played by Sandra Marvin) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) complete with plenty of drama and blunders tonight.
Things started off awkward, with Marlon late to his own wedding after a monsterous hangover with his cousin Sam Dingle (James Hooton).
And while Marlon had the shock of his life finding out Jessie had planned the day as a surprise, the pair tied the knot in the one of the most emotional scenes for the ITV soap.
Both Jessie and Marlon finally got to relax as their live steel band got into a rhythm for a Caribbean-style reception, when Billy suddenly showed up to support his mother.
Fans had been convinced Billy was set to get out of prison in the new year, but in another completely unexpected twist, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was horrified to see the man he knew right in front of him.
“Billy? That’s my son!” a delighted Jessie cried, as Aaron and his husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) turned to see the commotion.
“What? This can’t be happening,” Aaron said to his partner.
“What you know him?” Robert asked, taken-aback.
“Yeah I know him,” Aaron said gravely. “He’s Billy Fletcher.
“He’s one of the scumbags that made my life hell in prison.”
As rage seemed to course through him, Aaron lunged forward as if to start a fight with the familiar face, but luckily Robert stopped him in time.
“Wait what are you doing? It’s Marlon’s wedding day!” Robert warned, clearly panicking about his husband’s state of mind.
Aaron could have a hellish time on the soap ahead, especially now Billy is officially part of his family.
But one fan predicted the reason Ellis (Asan N’Jie) has been circling closer to Aaron is so the pair can team up in a plot to take down Billy.
Will they get their revenge? Or will Jessie go to all lengths to protect her beloved son?
“And that’s why Ellis was placed at the scrapyard close to Aaron,” the viewer wrote. “Interesting twist, I like it.
“Can’t wait to see what the Aaron/Billy/Ellis dynamic will be. #Robron #Emmerdale.”
“Aw wow knew Billy had some connection to Aaron – his worst nightmare after putting the past in the past,” another viewer shared. “He best not cause him any harm cause this time he has Robert in his corner #robron #Emmerdale.”
A third posted: “@DannyBMiller OMG Billy’s actually one of Aaron’s Prison Bullies & their now kinda sorta family seriously? #Emmerdale.”
The actress, who plays Nebula in the MCU, had previously said prior to the release of Infinity War that Nebula would be getting a “new BFF”, with the partnership being “brilliant and unexpected and so good”.
Could her fellow Guardian of the Galaxy, Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, be that person?
Gillan took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with a model of Klementieff’s head – joking: “Back on @avengers. Got @pom.klementieff to keep me company. #nebulaandmantis.”
Mantis, of course, was one of the victims of the Snap at the end of Infinity War – so does this essentially confirm the unsurprising news that she’s back?
It’s not a big shock that Mantis is back – in fact her presence on set earlier this year even led to the assumption she wouldn’t die in the first place.
But screen-time with Nebula – if that is indeed what Gillan is alluding to here, rather than just kidding around – would be an interesting development, given how important Nebula could be in Thanos’s downfall.
Fans of the original comics will know that she’s integral to his demise – distracting him and taking the Infinity Gauntlet for herself.
And yesterday she shared a photo of her alarms on her phone, with the text: “You know what this means….Nebula has some unfinished business with Daddio.”
Nebula survived the Snap, but had earlier been tortured by Thanos as part of his ploy to get Gamora (Zoe Saldana) to reveal the location of the Soul Stone.
Gamora ultimately gave in, and Thanos had to sacrifice her in order to obtain the stone.
So it’s safe to say Nebula now has more than a little score to settle in the upcoming movie – reshoots for which are ongoing.
But despite previous claims that all principle photography was completed last year, Mark Ruffalo has revealed that the cast are still figuring out what exactly the blockbuster’s ending will be.
“We’re not just doing reshoots,” he told the Marvelists podcast.
“We’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year.
“I don’t even know that they really know exactly if it is happening while we’re there.”
Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
If Lyft is going to translate self-driving car experiments into production vehicles offering rides, it’s going to need some help — and it’s on the way. The company has formed a partnership with Magna that will see the two jointly fund and develop autonomous car systems both for Lyft and the broader automotive industry. Lyft will lead the development, while Magna will take charge of manufacturing as well as contribute its know-how in vehicle systems, driver assistance and safety. The two hope to make the technology available to the industry on a large scale in the “next few years.”
Magna is also pouring $ 200 million into Lyft on top of the money needed for the project.
Both sides have strong incentives to team up. If Lyft is going to counter Uber and make driverless ridesharing a staple of its fleet, it needs self-driving systems that are refined and economical at the kind of volumes it needs. Magna, meanwhile, is one of the most influential automotive suppliers in the business — this fast tracks the development of self-driving platforms it can sell to car makers. Whatever money the two invest right now could reap many rewards down the line.

Gotham‘s Ivy, once a “seed” and then a “sprout,” now has fully “bloomed,” it is explained in an extended trailer for the back half of Season 4 (arriving Thursday, March 1 at 8/7c).
This November played host to a pair of DC superhero team-ups — the big screen’s Justice League and TV’s Arrowverse crossover. Which proved to be most super?
Justice League of course is a massive franchise film that cost a reported $ 300 million to make, and runs 120 minutes. The CW’s “Crisis on Earth-X” event meanwhile spanned about 160 total minutes across four episodes and cost… a whole lot less. (In general, an hour-long TV drama on the high side carries a $ 5 million price tag. And keep in mind, this is The CW.)
How did Green Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, White Canary and their friends’ battle with Nazi doppelgangers stack up against Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg’s clash with world conqueror Steppenwolf? BEWARE OF FULL SPOILERS for both the TV crossover and the movie, review our photo gallery (click here for direct access) and then share your own comparison.

Someday, Justice League‘s long and complicated journey to the big screen will make for a compelling tell-all book. Until then, we can only sit here with one question on the tip of our tongues: will Warner Bros.’ DC superhero team-up movie be any good? While you never can tell with marketing, the new Justice League trailer is here for us to poke at, observe, and dissect. So let’s take a look.
On paper, this sounds like a license to print money: Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg (and Superman because, c’mon, he’s totally not dead) team up to save the planet. But the reality is murkier. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while a hit, didn’t win the hearts and minds of moviegoers around the world like The Avengers did. And then there’s Wonder Woman, which found tremendous success by being as different from previous DCEU movies as possible. Justice League finds itself at a crossroads – this movie needs to set the new tone for these movies going forward and convince audiences that this is a universe worth their time and money.
It’s a bit of shame that the narrative around Justice League has been less about how cool it is to see these characters together for the first time on the big screen and more about the troubled production. First, there was the studio’s somewhat overeager insistence that this film would lighten up in the wake of the frustrated reaction to Batman v Superman. And then there was the departure of original director Zack Snyder in the wake of a family tragedy. And then Joss Whedon, a director who knows a thing or two about ensemble superhero movies, was hired to drag the movie across the finish line.
So let’s forget about the drama for just a second. Let’s remember how great Ben Affleck was as Batman, elevating his every scene in a not-so-good movie. Let’s cheer that we get to see Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman on the big screen again. Let’s get excited about Jason Momoa as Aquaman (inspired casting) and Ezra Miller as The Flash (ditto). Okay, there’s no getting around Cyborg’s awful character design (poor Ray Fisher), but what if everything else works? Are we are allowed to hope? Because that’s one thing the DC heroes have always been about (and have always stomped the Marvel heroes at doing) – inspiring hope.
Justice League opens on November 17, 2017. Here’s the official synopsis:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Sorry, Raina, but Power co-creator Courtney A. Kemp says you were a goner from the get-go.
“It was always going to be Raina,” Kemp tells TVLine, referring to the fatal shooting of Ghost’s teenage daughter in the season’s penultimate episode. The girl’s demise kicked off a chain of events — another murder, a quick cover-up and a huge sacrifice, just to name a few — that fill the Season 4 finale and set up a revenge-fueled Season 5. “The only conversation was whether or not she was going to be just shot or shot and killed, or whether she was going to live into Episode 10 and then die.” (For the record, “I always wanted her to be [instantly] dead,” the showrunner says. “I always thought that was the strongest choice.”)
Before we get into the nitty-gritty with Kemp, some quick highlights from the season ender:
* Tariq refuses to tell his parents and the police that Ray Ray killed Raina, preferring to try to get vengeance on his own. Dre helps/basically sends the teen to his death by giving ‘Riq Ray Ray’s location. Thankfully, Tommy and Ghost also figure out where the boy was heading (thanks to some intel from Kanan) — as does Tasha, with Angela’s help — and the St. Patricks and Tommy show up… but not in time to stop Tariq from using Tasha’s gun to kill his sister’s murderer. They hustle the kid out of there and get rid of most of the evidence, but when Angela is called to the scene, she notices a stray bullet left in a wall. Oops.
* Knowing that Terry — who’d professed his love to her — had noticed Ghost’s absence after Raina’s death, and knowing that her weapon was now linked to a murder investigation, Tasha turns down the lawyer’s offer of romantic partnership and instead asks him to represent her (setting up a very convenient lawyer-client privilege). “It’s not James” who committed the crime, she tells him, covering for her son. “It’s me.”
* Earlier, after Uriel tells Ghost that the Jimenez were not behind Raina’s hit, he lets it slip that he and Dre colluded to kill Julio. Elsewhere, after Father Callahan meets with Dre to tell him that he wants out — because he knows who really killed Julio and “I don’t like the way you work” — Dre kills the priest and leaves his body on a park bench.
* Though the Jimenez siblings aren’t happy that Uriel is dead (thanks to Ghost and Tommy’s visit earlier), they make official their partnership with Dre. Tommy, Ghost and Kanan, who’d planned to attack Dre right there, realize they’ve got to regroup and recruit more “soldiers” before they can take down the upstart.
* Meanwhile, over at the AUSAs’ office, Maria Suarez gives her statement…
Read on for Kemp’s thoughts on:
TASHA’S SACRIFICE | The EP notes that, because Terry noticed James’ absence at the apartment after Raina’s death, Tasha “definitely needs there to be an alternative to [Ray Ray’s killer] being Ghost, because she can’t control him and what he might do, and an alternative to it being Tariq, because she’ll do anything to save her child. So she wants to get Terry in a position where he can’t speak about anything he saw that day because he’s her attorney, and she wants to get him into a situation where he believes that it’s her.” As to whether Mrs. St. Patrick returns the legal eagle’s affections? “I think she does,” Kemp says, “but the love of a child is always going to be stronger than the love of a man.”
ANGELA’S SUCCESS | If Angela’s feeling bulletproof after having come through Jamie’s trial not only having kept her job but having been promoted, “early in Season 5, she’s going to feel differently,” Kemp teases. “Let’s just say that Angela does not always do a good job of watching her own back, and there are people she works with who will take advantage of that weakness [and] opportunity.”
DRE’S HUBRIS | “Ghost and Tommy are real adults” in their dealings with the Jimenez siblings this season, Kemp notes. “Dre is a twentysomething, and he may have bitten off more than he can chew… We were always planning for him to be Ghost 2.0. Basically, I think I said this before, so forgive me if this isn’t an exclusive, but this is the truth. The truth is, Dre is Ghost 2.0, and Tariq is Ghost 3.0.”
MARIA’S SECRET | Kemp says she’s not sure yet when Maria’s reappearance in the story will affect (and possibly blow up) Ghost’s world. “There’s some talk of doing it right away, and there’s some talk of waiting a longer time. But what I will say is that it’s a complicated story, because if you remember, Ghost actually let Maria go,” the EP reminds viewers. “So it’s complicated, because he shows kindness.”
