Star Trek: Discovery fans have been waiting for what feels like centuries for Season 3 to arrive… and now the cast is finally hinting at what we’ll see. The Discovery crew reunited on Thursday for the Star Trek Universe panel at Comic-Con @ Home, and since it’s been more than a year since Season 2 ended on CBS All Access, the stars graciously dropped a few tantalizing teases for us about what’s on tap. If you remember, the Season 2 finale sent Burnham and the Discovery hurtling a thousand years into the future to a truly undiscovered country — and that time jump was “a salvation of sorts” for Burnham, star Sonequa Martin-Green reveals. She and the crew “are deciding to sacrifice everything we have for the future,” she adds, and Burnham is also “continuing to discover [herself]” along the way. Georgiou isn’t so thrilled about the time jump, though, Michelle Yeoh says: “I think she’s really pissed off. It’s like, ‘Michael Burnham, don’t get in my way.’” (This is the second time Georgiou has been ripped away from her homeland, she reminds us.) But Georgiou “always finds her way into adapting,” Yeoh notes. “She’s a survivor with many skills, and a formidable ally… or an enemy.” Season 3 “really blends the personal-slash-family nature of our show,” Anthony Rapp, who plays Lt. Paul Stamets, previews. “It really explores family in wonderful new ways.” The new season also finds Stamets and Wilson Cruz’s Dr. Culber “more on an equal footing, I think,” Cruz hints. “I love the new Culber. He’s more three-dimensional in my head.” (No premiere date for Season 3 has been set, but filming on it did wrap before the coronavirus pandemic shut down production worldwide.) Discovery standouts Pike, Spock and Number One are getting their own spinoff — Star Trek: Strange New Worlds — as well, and Anson Mount says that Pike’s vision of his own tragic fate in Season 2 weighs heavily on him in the new series. “When you see how it’s all gonna end, and it’s not so pretty, what do you do with that?… I think he’s probably going to wrestle with how he can best utilize the rest of his life for the good of the world, the universe.” And the universe of Strange New Worlds is already under construction, executive producer Alex Kurtzman reveals: “The [writers’] room has started. There are 10 stories broken, which is exciting.” Watch the full Star Trek Universe panel below, and beam down to the comments to share your thoughts.
With a detective circling in and a dead body left in their wake, Ruby and Billy’s second-chance love story is about to come crashing down. Life on the Run just isn’t meant to last. Many questions still remained heading into Sunday’s finale: Would Ruby give up her family for another shot with her former flame, or would the rekindled lovers head straight to jail? Would Ruby ever find out about Billy’s true intentions? (And can we please get a spinoff greenlit for Babe and Laurel!?) Let’s break it all down with a recap. After fleeing from the bar, Ruby and Billy chase after a truck in the middle of a snowfall. They hop in the back and hitch a ride, and after a quick cut, they’re back to getting frisky on the train. When a server comes to their roomette to deliver a late breakfast, Ruby and Billy realize the woman thought the two “love birds” were in their room the entire night. So if someone asks if they might’ve, you know, jumped off a moving train to murder a woman, the lady could be a key witness in their defense. Officer Babe Cloud wakes up at Laurel’s house to find her new fling working in the basement. Laurel makes a joke about not telling anyone about their tryst if Cloud lets her buddy Daniel off the hook. (Read the room, Laurel!) The mood immediately sours, as we hear scampering footsteps above them. Turns out Daniel was hiding out at Laurel’s the entire time! Cloud acquires a phone that Daniel throws behind him when escaping, but then arrests Laurel for harboring a fugitive. Looks like this new love is officially on the rocks. Billy tells Ruby that ever since he found out about her family, he knew she wouldn’t choose him. “I want you to miss me, every day for the rest of your f–king life. I want you to think of me, want me and love me even though you’re with him,” he says. (Geez, obsess much?) After he tells her she’s the love of his life, Ruby tells Billy she’s going to end it with Laurence. She then admits she never finished his book or watched his talk because she was jealous. “I know,” he says before she punches him. Ruby forces Billy to let her see his talk on his laptop. While she’s watching, an email notification comes up, which brings Ruby to an email from Fiona. Subject: Don’t Let Ruby See This. Of course she hits play on the video, and it’s Billy’s pitch to book publishers, detailing the trip he was about to take just before he texted “Run” to Ruby. She tells him it was impressive. “I had no idea you were capable of something like that,” she says. “Or maybe I did.” The cops find out from the truck driver that a man and woman jumped off his truck at the train station. Since Laurel told Cloud they were heading to L.A., the chase is on… only Billy and Ruby still think they got away scot-free. Laurel and Cloud discover that the phone Daniel left behind is Fiona’s. Cloud calls the most recent number and is connected to Laurence, who then leaves Ruby a message telling her to call the police. We then see Cloud on the phone telling someone, “If you do exactly as I’ve told you, we can work this out… You’re doing the right thing.” Ruby pulls the train’s emergency brake, and Cloud is right there to hop aboard. The train starts again and the conductor announces they’re only 20 minutes from L.A. Cloud hunts for Billy, while he opens his laptop and realizes what Ruby actually saw. When the train arrives at Union Station, Billy makes a run for it, cash bag in hand. Outside, he finds Ruby looking dejected, but Laurence and her boys are also on the scene. Billy tells her he loves her and that he’s ready to face the legality awaiting him, but he wants her to choose him and admit that she knows he loves her. “Admit it,” he repeats. With her family looking on, Ruby doesn’t utter a single word back to him. She turns around and walks away. Did Ruby make the right choice? Did you want to see more of Laurel and Babe? Grade the finale and season below, then hit the comments with your thoughts! The post began: “So, I am really hooked and I’ve watched the entire series many times. And I just spotted this plot hole.” The viewer went on to explain that if we go back a bit in season 10 to episode 10, Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon argue over who will get what in their apartment. The post continues: “In the first half, Amy and Sheldon bring the painting of Amy and Penny to Leonard and Penny’s apartment. “At the end of the episode, we see that Penny and Leonard set up the painting in their apartment. FX’s Legion got trippier than ever in its third and final season premiere, with David leading a far-out cult of hippies — but why is he so eager to go back in time? Monday’s premiere kicks off, rather boldly, by following a new character for nearly half the episode: a young Asian girl played by Lauren Tsai, who’s listening to “Lessons in Time Travel” instructional tapes. She happens upon a cryptic flyer and sees that they’re searching for a time traveler, so she solves a series of clues like “Find the Orange Fish” — using her time-travel skills to go back in time and catch something she missed at one point — and ends up following a bus full of happy hippie revelers down an alley. She enters a glowing glass door and is faced with racks of clothes and a stern woman behind a counter that keeps moving away every time she approaches. Once she shouts out “Salmon,” though (that’s the orange fish), the hippies start to sing, she’s given a new outfit and led down a transparent tunnel, through offices and canyons and seas, until she reaches a pregnant girl who tells her: “You’re just in time.” He explains that he built all of this with his mind to help people with their pain: “I’m the Magic Man.” To demonstrate, he has Switch visualize her bedroom in her mind, and then zaps them both there instantly. He shares his backstory — how he was adopted, and a monster lived in his head and haunted him for years — “but I’m better now,” he assures her. She asks why he needs a time traveler, and he shows her a flash of Syd. “So it’s a girl thing?” she replies, but it’s a bit more complicated than that, he says. For one thing, the “monster” he mentioned wasn’t metaphorical… and she gets proof when Division 3 bursts in, guns blazing. Kerry chops David’s arm off with a katana (!), but he’s still able to use his powers to destroy all of the invaders… until a gunshot wound opens in his chest, courtesy of Syd. Switch uses time travel to get away, though, and walks down a hallway where she considers going back 10 minutes, 20 minutes, an hour — but her instructional tapes warn against going back too far, or you “risk waking the demon.” She settles on an hour and zips back to her meeting with Lenny, and tries to warn David that bad people are on the way. He thinks he’d sense them, but “you didn’t last time,” she tells him. This time, he zaps them inside the commune, where hippies are battling Division 3 thugs… and Amahl Farouk lurks in the background. David uses his powers to clean house, but he gets shot by Syd again, so Switch heads back in time again, this time two hours back. And that’s when she meets Farouk. Farouk tells Syd they’ve located David and wants her to stay back, but she insists on coming along. He thinks she still has feelings for David — and that’s a pretty good bet, we’d say. (Then again, she did shoot him dead. Twice.) We see the invasion from their perspective, with Carey fitting the soldiers with brainwave blockers so David won’t see them coming. But this time, as they approach, there’s a flash of light, and suddenly the entire commune has vanished, leaving a gigantic crater in its wake. The opening credits roll at the very end — nice touch, Noah Hawley — as Syd picks up a bloody tooth on the ground. (We did spot Switch wiggling one of her teeth earlier.) Let the final battle… begin. Alright, Legion fans: Grade tonight’s premiere in our poll below, and then hit the comments to share your thoughts. Google Maps Street View has captured a man in an incredibly bizarre shot in the city of Athens, Greece. He can be seen walking along a large paved area alongside numerous others. The man is wearing jeans, trainers and a grey polo neck T-shirt – so far, so normal. However, in his left arm, at first glance, he appears to be holding a small child in a blue T-shirt. But if viewers look more closely there is something very strange indeed about the shot. The baby seems to have the hair growth of a middle-aged man – greying with a bald patch. What’s more, the man in grey appears to almost be headless – only the back of his head is visible and becomes transparent at the front. So is there more happening here that at first it seems? Clearly, something has gone wrong with the Google cameras to cause a serious technological glitch. In fact, there are two men in the photo – one walking in front of the other but the positioning of the first man’s arm has cause confusion. The photography splicing has caused the problem due to the way the images form. When taking the photo, the 360-degree cameras shoot multiple pictures to create the seamless image. However, moving objects often ruin the scene as they shift when the photos are taken. It is most likely the men moved when the images were taken, resulting in the strange photo. This is far from the first time a technological error has caused bizarre sights. Such images are not always funny – they can also be rather alarming as one photo from California proves. Google Maps Street View also captured a horrifying image taken near the Hollywood sign. The disturbing photo appears to show the head of a woman hanging from a pole flying the American flag. The seemingly decapitated head faces toward the ground with a ponytail hanging downwards. The black pole, with what looks like a shred of the white and red flag, appears to be skewered into the back of her neck. However, the image is, just as with the man in Athens, the result of a technological error, and the woman was bending down as the images were taken. On another occasion, a glitch made it look like a man had a muzzle and had a face which was covered in white hair. A farmyard friend looked just like a pig in muck as the Google maps cameras came to call. No ordinary cute pink piglet, this particular fun-loving mammal was in fact a man dressed up in a full head mask with beady eyes and a neon snout. Its appearance was rather realistic, with two ears poking out from the top of his head and a leering look. The cheeky chap had chosen the perfect place to play dress up, standing in front of a variety of meat-themed cushions in his shop in Warsaw, Poland. Initially, the scenes appeared just like those in a butchers shop, with prime cuts of best pork behind the counter and on the walls. On closer inspection, they proved to be the homeware accessories, with the store also selling a variety of quirky products. T-shirts and logo bags lined the walls while the floor featured an eye popping monochrome design. Not content with his pig posing behind the counter, he then moved to the shop door. He could be seen clutching the door as he peered the mask around the frame. It was then his grey hoodie, jeans and trainers came into full view, revealed he had not fully committed to dressing like the animal. The owner then hot-trotted it to the back of the shop, to take a peek out of the shop’s store room. It is unclear whether the retailer regularly dresses in character, or it was just a one-off. Nevertheless, it provided many laughs for those witnessing his antics on the cameras. A real-life animal who did not fare so well recently was also captured by the team. A donkey was caught talking a stroll down a dusty desert path, in what must be a daily occurrence. He was seen trotting down the road in the middle of Botswana with no other living presence bar some trees on either side. The grey farmyard mammal looked to be perfectly content in his own company, taking its time to walk down the road. Yet its tranquil outing was somewhat disrupted by the arrival of the cameras. It was tracked cantering down the road before falling straight to the floor, in what looked to be an accident. The donkey was seen lying on the dirt track on his right side, with its tail flailing around. It is unclear what caused the sudden shift to the floor, though it could be because the arrival of the cameras had spooked it. Hopefully it made a speedy recovery and its collapse did not prove fatal, though the outcome is as yet unknown. The Chase had four new contestants face Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty tonight, all hoping to win part of the cash prize. Bradley Walsh was back hosting the show and joining him was Dan, Claire, Angela and Max. Viewers tuned in to see the first three contestants successfully secure £18,000 for the jackpot and it was Max’s turn to face the Chaser next. As he joined Bradley for the cash builder round, the host asked Max about his personal life, to which he explained how he was an Oxford University student. And those at home were quick to comment on the choice of contestants appearing on the show. Taking to Twitter one said: “Oh god another oxford student #TheChase.” “Another Oxford fella…!!! #TheChase” someone commented. A third added: “Is is me or do they always have an Oxford Uni student on the show?” #TheChase.” It comes after yesterday’s quiz show instalment which saw another student from the prestigious university face the Chaser. “Let’s hope this Oxford Uni student is a big more successful than the “history” student from yesterday #TheChase,” a Tweet read. “Max and Sam are giving Oxford University a bad name #TheChase,” a viewer suggested. Yesterday, Sam built up £6,000 after correctly answering six questions but when he faced the Chaser, he failed to choose the correct answers. Instead, Anne caught him up and for him the chase was over. Nevertheless, the other three remaining teammates sailed through to the final round with the chance of winning £18,000. They managed to secure 23 steps ahead and Bradley was shocked by this high figure obtained. He said: “One of the best scores I’ve seen on this show in a long, long while.” As for Anne, she had to agree that it was going to be a tough number to beat. “That is one of the highest, if not the highest score we’ve see on the series, very well done.” Unfortunately for the quiz master, time was not on her side and she didn’t beat 23. “I didn’t actually expected to catch that i just wanted to make it as close as i could,” she commented. Today’s contestants, Dan, Claire and Angela, each went home with £6,000 of winnings. The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV. Sports may give people an opportunity to witness incredible athletic feats, but it's the truly bizarre moments that really capture people's attention. Some moments are so jarring that the final result of the game itself is lost in the moment, while others go beyond the field of play altogether. Here's a look back at five of the most stunning sports moments of 2018: The Golden State Warriors were heavy favourites to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Finals, but Game 1 was surprisingly competitive as the Cavaliers hung tight with the Warriors behind a 51-point performance from LeBron James. With the game tied 107-107 with 4.7 seconds to go, Cleveland guard J.R. Smith grabbed a key offensive rebound a few feet from the basket. To everyone's astonishment, Smith did not attempt a game-winning shot, choosing instead to dribble out the clock. The moment that could haunt the rest of JR Smith’s life. #NBAFinals #NBAonABC @abc_columbia pic.twitter.com/owmeHRBiA1 —@MikeABCColumbia The Warriors prevailed 124-114 in overtime; after the game, there were conflicting reports as to whether or not Smith knew the score. Golden State went on to win the next three games to sweep Cleveland 4-0. Serena Williams walked into Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sept. 8 seeking her first Grand Slam title in two years, but things didn't go according to plan. The U.S. Open champion was cited for three code violations by umpire Carlos Ramos during her 6-2, 6-4 loss to Naomi Osaka. Her third violation resulted in a game penalty after she called Ramos a thief during a changeover. Watch the controversial decision from the chair empire: After the match, Williams accused the umpire of sexism. "I'm here fighting for women's rights and for women's equality and for all kinds of stuff. For me to say 'thief,' and for him to take a game, it made me feel like it was a sexist remark," Williams said at her news conference. Many thought the umpire was unduly harsh to Williams throughout the match, while the International Tennis Federation said Ramos's decisions "were in accordance with the relevant rules." On Nov. 4, the Ottawa Senators lost for the sixth time in their last seven games — but things were about to get much worse for the team. The following day, the Ottawa Citizen released video footage of several Senators players during an Oct. 29 Uber ride in Phoenix. The video, which had been recorded surreptitiously, showed the players discussing their team's floundering penalty kill and criticizing assistant coach Martin Raymond. With 'Ubergate' quickly dominating headlines, the players and the Uber driver both apologized for their actions. Who made the worse move: Sens players or Uber driver? A curling team comprised of Jamie Koe, Chris Schille, DJ Kidby and fill-in player Ryan Fry was kicked out of the 2018 Red Deer Curling Classic on Nov. 18 after numerous complaints were levelled against them from opponents and spectators. "They went out to curl and they were extremely drunk and breaking brooms and swearing," facility manager Wade Thurber told CBC Sports in November. A few days after the event, Fry — who won gold at the 2014 Winter Olympics — announced that he'd be taking an indefinite leave from his usual team led by Brad Jacobs to focus on his "growth and self-improvement." However, Jacobs hopes to have him back by the next Grand Slam in January. Khabib Nurmagomedov forced Conor McGregor to tap out in the fourth round of their lightweight title bout at UFC 229in early October. Then the fight really got started. A few seconds after defeating the Irish MMA superstar, Nurmagomedov climbed over the cage and leaped at men in McGregor's corner. The real Khabib fight with the best camera man (me) in the arena !!! pic.twitter.com/RgdLchn5cC —@chrisk8oh Meanwhile, two men climbed into the cage and attacked McGregor. In a post-fight news conference, the Russian blamed McGregor for instigating the brawl, saying the Dublin native had mocked his religion and country in pre-fight taunts. Both fighters were suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission for the post-match fracas.RELATED STORIES

She’s led through a commune filled with hippies smoking hookahs, with the Stones’ “2000 Light Years From Home” playing, while a mysterious blue liquid flows and bubbles in nearby tubes. “He makes it, in here,” the pregnant girl says, pointing towards her head, and introduces the Asian girl to an “alchemist” named Squirrel, who dubs the new girl “Switch.” She’s left in an empty room, where some more hippies bring in “the Breakfast Queen”… it’s Lenny! When Switch asks if this is a cult, Lenny proudly replies, “Yes,” and wants to see proof of Switch’s time-travel abilities. But she’ll only prove it to “him” — so she’s taken to a cave, where a blissed-out David greets her and offers her some tea.
She finds herself in an empty room with Farouk, who assures her she’s safe and wonders why all time travelers tend to be women. Over a nice cup of tea — a lot of tea in this episode! — he tells Switch he knows she’s helping David, but “maybe we can make a different arrangement.” She manages to sneak away, but Farouk reports back to Division 3 that David has a time traveler on his side now. “How do you surprise someone who can go back in time and warn himself?” he muses, but the Division 3 heads press on with their plans to take out David, figuring they’ll just kill Switch in the process.
