There’s been no shortage of hard-hitting storylines so far in NCIS: LA season 12, from Marty Deeks (played by Eric Christian Olsen) losing his job to the kidnap of Sam Hanna’s (LL Cool J) daughter. However, in a series of adorable clips to one another on Instagram, Kensi Blye star Daniela Ruah and Nell Jones actor Renee Felice Smith have teased their characters will be working closely together in the next few installments.

In a short series of clips complimenting her NCIS: LA co-star, Smith joked to her 161k Instagram followers: “Daniela and I are starting a fan club for each other okay?

“It’s called the Dani and Renee fan club or the Renee and Dani fan club and we’re just gonna be being fans of each other and I think it’s really cool.

“After we do scenes together – and we have a few really nice scenes coming up and we don’t often get to do that.”

The Nell Jones star didn’t stop there as she heaped praise onto her colleague.

“So it’s been a really special treat especially for me because I get to watch her work and she is like an actual genius person who can do anything I’m pretty sure,

Smith concluded: “So this is the beginning of the Dani/Renee, Renee/Dani fan club where we fan girl about each other.”

Reciprocating the kind words of her NCIS: LA co-star, Ruah shared a few clips of her own.

And she too detailed how Nell and Kensi’s future on the show will see them spending much more time together.

So what is it the two could find themselves working so closely together on?

Well, there are plenty of cases about to land on the OSP’s dead.

And arguably most pressing is the kidnapping of Sam’s daughter Kam (Kayla Smith).

The promo for the next episode hints Callen and Sam will pull out all the stops to track her down, from high-speed car chases to bone-crushing fights.

And beyond that, Callen will land in a rather tricky situation when he heads to Russia.

The synopsis for episode 11, which is Ruah’s directorial debut on the show, confirms Callen will run into the arm of the law during his venture abroad.

But will he be freed with Nell and Kensi’s help? Or do the two have something else up their sleeves?

NCIS: LA returns to CBS on February 14.

Let’s block ads! (Why?)

Bookmakers Betfair have revealed the comedy series is favourite to be the third most watched show being the Queen’s Speech and Call the Midwife.

Spokesman Sam Rosbottom said: “Her Majesty usually draws a winning audience regardless, but after such a difficult year, it stands to reason that millions will tune in to be cheered by the Queen’s message of hope for 2021, which is why she’s one of the shortest favourites in years at 8/13 for the most watched Christmas programme.

“However, the immensely popular Call the Midwife at 15/8 isn’t too far behind Queen Elizabeth.

“Watch out for dark horse in the form of the Strictly Christmas Special, with some of the highlights of the show’s 20 years on air sure to charm viewers on Christmas Day when more television than ever before will be watched by the British public.”

Mrs Brown’s Boys: Mammy of the People airs Christmas Day at 10pm.

Outlander: Brianna Fraser star reveals storyline she fought for: ‘It is a shame’ https://briefnews.eu/outlander-brianna-fraser-star-reveals-storyline-she-fought-for-it-is-a-shame/ https://briefnews.eu/outlander-brianna-fraser-star-reveals-storyline-she-fought-for-it-is-a-shame/#respond Sun, 07 Jun 2020 03:34:10 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/outlander-brianna-fraser-star-reveals-storyline-she-fought-for-it-is-a-shame/

Outlander viewers have witnessed the residents of the Starz and Amazon Prime Video show go through quite a lot. While Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) was sexually abused in season one at the hands of “Black Jack” Randall (Tobias Menzies). The unfortunate fate of the Frasers continued into season three, as Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) was also raped, but at the hands of Stephen Bonnet (Edward Speleers).

Brianna’s ordeal caused ripples throughout the show’s storylines that are even still being felt in season five.

Although Brianna seems to be coping well with her trauma at the moment, viewers have seen how she has struggled in the past.

With so much going on in Brianna’s life, it would have been easy to drop the tougher aspects of her storyline as the seasons progress.

But this isn’t something Brianna actor Sophie wanted to do.

Speaking to Gio Journal, he explained: “I’ve been working on the post-production of a TV show I produced/financed and directed last year.

“We hope to have it air this year and it’s been a lot of fun. Also, a book deal, so I’m writing A LOT!”

Addressing the pandemic and how he is coping within lockdown, Sam added: “I’m doing the best I can.

“Trying to stay safe whilst lending my voice and support to charities etc.

“Also want to entertain people and give them something else to think about. Bloodshot [Sam’s latest movie] was released during the pandemic.”

Sam also mused on the affect of the pandemic, and how it has progressed over the past few months.

He added: “I guess no one knew the level and extent of how this would affect us. Hopefully everyone can stay safe and positive at this time. It affects us all.”

Outlander seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.

Coronation Street boss ‘confirms’ Ollie Battersby’s death in heartbreaking storyline? https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-boss-confirms-ollie-battersbys-death-in-heartbreaking-storyline/ https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-boss-confirms-ollie-battersbys-death-in-heartbreaking-storyline/#respond Sun, 05 Apr 2020 18:10:38 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-boss-confirms-ollie-battersbys-death-in-heartbreaking-storyline/

Coronation Street could change forever in upcoming months as residents Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) try desperately to understand their son, Oliver’s new medical condition. But what is the outcome of the storyline? It seems show boss Iain MacLeod may have teased the young boy’s death…

Back in February, express.co.uk predicted a new health battle for young Oliver following a spoiler picture from his birthday party celebration saw him asleep on the sofa while his family and friends gathered around.

Now, producer Iain has spoken out about what’s to come and explained how this storyline could be one of the most hard-hitting, set to affect numerous families.

In recent scenes, fans have seen Steve and Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) relationship “re-established” to become the “strongest” it ever has been.

“Something will happen that probably has the most far-reaching impact of any story we’ve done since I’ve been on the show, and I include both stints.

“Something horrifically difficult and challenging will happen that draws in 3-4 different clans on the Street and forces them to deal with the hardest thing anyone would ever had to deal with,” Iain told Metro.co.uk.

The storyline in question will begin this spring and will play out until the summer apparently.

And this certainly fits in with recent spoilers which have suggested Oliver will start experiencing epileptic fits while left in the care of Summer.

A previous soap synopsis explained how Leanne asked Steve to look after their son for a day, but tragedy occurs.

But what is the diagnosis?

Many fans took to Twitter to discuss the possible storyline.

One said: “See know somethings up with oliver. Hes always tired and sick. Now leannes seen panicking too. Deffo the big spring storyline #Corrie”

“I said the big storyline involving several families would be something to do with Oliver and something happening to him #Corrie,” anther remarked.

Viewers will have to wait and see whether or not Oliver will be able to manage his epilepsy – if indeed it is epilepsy.

There is a chance he might have inherited a genetic disorder, his grandfather Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson) was diagnosed with Myotonic dystrophy several years ago.

It is a muscle loss and weakness condition which leads to the person diagnosed struggling with mobility as it worsens, could this be the beginning for Oliver?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.

However, later in the episode, Brianna (Sophie Skelton) was certain he had been hanged and mistaken for a traitor.

But fans think he is alive and Buck has actually been hanged after taking Roger’s coat.

One theorised: “Not a book reader, but I can’t imagine Roger is actually dead.

“It was probably his Mackenzie ancestor bro who took his jacket. Otherwise they would have shown his face then and there.”

Chicago P.D.’s Brian Geraghty Previews His ‘Challenging’ Crossover Return: ‘I Couldn’t Ask for a Better Storyline’ https://briefnews.eu/chicago-p-d-s-brian-geraghty-previews-his-challenging-crossover-return-i-couldnt-ask-for-a-better-storyline/ https://briefnews.eu/chicago-p-d-s-brian-geraghty-previews-his-challenging-crossover-return-i-couldnt-ask-for-a-better-storyline/#respond Mon, 24 Feb 2020 22:16:33 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/chicago-p-d-s-brian-geraghty-previews-his-challenging-crossover-return-i-couldnt-ask-for-a-better-storyline/

Onetime beat cop Sean Roman returns to the Windy City in this Wednesday’s crossover between Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. (starting at 9/8c on NBC), but it won’t be a happy homecoming for the ex-police officer.

What brings Roman back is an intense personal crisis: His sister has gone missing, and her disappearance may be connected to a series of teen opioid overdoses. But instead of approaching his former colleagues at P.D. for help, Roman seeks out the Fire team, causing plenty of tension with his ex-girlfriend Burgess.

TVLine chatted with former series regular Brian Geraghty about his surprising return to his old stomping grounds, whether Roman still has feelings for Burgess and the “very, very challenging” nature of the crossover event.

TVLINE | How does it feel to be back after four seasons?
Has it been four seasons? I was trying to figure that out. It was just terrific. It was so fun. I loved being in Chicago — I stayed in my old neighborhood, the West Loop — and I couldn’t ask for a better way to come back and a better storyline, [which] was very, very challenging, in a way, but [it was] also fun to get back in there.

Chicago PD Brian GeraghtyTVLINE | Without getting into spoiler territory too much, I will just say that they definitely did not go easy on you in this crossover.
No. It was some of the most challenging work I’ve ever had. Usually, you have a scene or two. But to sustain that, for weeks at a time, was interesting. It was certainly the most work, and the most difficult work, I had on the show, in any of the shows, in my whole experience on them.

TVLINE | Has Roman changed in the time that he’s been away?
I think they kept the fun aspects. But I certainly would like to think he’s a little more understanding and mature and not as emotional. [In his] reaction towards Kim, I hope that came across, that he understands her and why people do the things they do. He’s a little more forgiving in that way. As we get older, hopefully, we learn, and the things we sweat, as time goes by, we start to go, “Wait, it’s not really a big deal.” … You can’t really see it in the Fire episode as much, because I’m there doing one thing. I think the scenes between Burgess and me, hopefully, will show that. She’s obviously a different character, as well.

TVLINE | You have some very quietly meaningful scenes with Burgess. How do the two characters feel about seeing each other again?
Marina [Squerciati] and I got together several times and rehearsed and talked. We went over how we left each other, and we got a couple of the scripts. We did some homework, for sure. It was important to us, in that first scene, to bring the history that we had. You kind of break up with somebody, you thought you’re cool, they go off, your life moves on, they show up and they’re involved [in an investigation]. It’s kind of like I was going behind their back, and I think when we first [see] each other, the idea was there’s a lot of tension between us. She says, like, “Don’t lie to me! I rode in a car with you for two years,” and that’s kind of like the basis of our relationship.

Then we start to realize, like, “Oh, we’re kind of going through this very similar [thing].” We’re able to lean on each other a bit after. We wanted a bit of tension, and then we wanted, within the writing, to say, “Hey, OK, we know each other, we trust each other. As much as my pride says I don’t want to lean on you, f–k it. I’m going to do it,” because we have a history. It was so well-written in that regard. It was a great thing, stepping back into the character. I just knew how to do it. I knew how to talk like him. He does his one-liners occasionally, and I was like, “Perfect, I get it.”

Chicago PD Brian GeraghtyTVLINE | When Roman left the show, he wanted Burgess to come with him. Do you think he’s still holding a flame for her at this point?
The way I thought of it is he’s single, but you come back, and you go, “Oh, wow, you’ve moved on.” I think there’s still that chemistry between them, sure. I don’t think he’s holding a flame for her. If the writing was so that there was potential for us to get back together, I don’t think that would be totally ridiculous, in other words. I could see that in some manner.

TVLINE | Did this crossover make you want to play Roman some more? Or do you feel like you got some closure with him now?
I felt like I got some closure to him. The show’s doing great, and there’s no need to bring another character back. But certainly, if they had a storyline that was compelling… I had such a great relationship with the show in general, but also [executive producer] Dick [Wolf]. I certainly am open to it. But I don’t think anybody’s trying to just fill some void. The way they did this was certainly very high-stakes and compelling, and that’s the way I think would be most interesting to ever bring a character back. And I didn’t realize how much — I have a lot of fans from this show. It’s been great. A lot of people love these shows. It’s pretty incredible.

TVLINE | Did you ever think that you would be back? Were you surprised to get that call?
You know, I had a feeling… When I came on the show, I was never supposed to be there long-term. So it wasn’t anything weird when I left. The time was expired, and I like to move around a lot. I’m an actor. I like to play all different parts. So, no, I’m not surprised, because of the way they left it open. I got Law & Order, my first episode was in 1998. [I did] a different one [SVU] eight years later. Then there was a couple opportunities, and then this came along. It was great timing. So Dick has been just a great advocate to me. We have a great relationship. So anytime Uncle Dick calls, I drop what I’m doing.

Grey’s Anatomy Eyes ‘Really Painful’ Season 16 Storyline Involving [Spoiler] https://briefnews.eu/greys-anatomy-eyes-really-painful-season-16-storyline-involving-spoiler/ https://briefnews.eu/greys-anatomy-eyes-really-painful-season-16-storyline-involving-spoiler/#respond Thu, 23 Jan 2020 01:16:48 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/greys-anatomy-eyes-really-painful-season-16-storyline-involving-spoiler/

The second half of Grey’s Anatomy‘s 16th season — which kicks off Thursday at 9/8c on ABC — will feature a “really painful” storyline that delves into “mental health,” previews showrunner Krista Vernoff, who also describes the forthcoming plot as “beautiful and impactful and important.”

Vernoff declined to reveal which Grey’s character(s) the story will focus on, but Jo (Camilla Luddington) would seem to be a prime suspect given her past struggles with mental health and the fact that her marriage to Alex is presumably headed for upheaval in light of Justin Chambers’ abrupt departure. (Our interview with Vernoff took place prior to news of Chambers’ exit.)

That said, the storyline in question could also very well center on Kelly McCreary’s Maggie, whom Vernoff confirms will be “in a very dark place” when Grey’s returns. “She’s never made an error that led to the death of a patient, and now she’s done it — and it was her cousin,” the EP notes. “People who love her have to rise to the occasion to help her.”

Thoughts/theories about who will anchor the storyline? Post ’em below!

Riverdale: How did Fred Andrews die? Tragic storyline explained https://briefnews.eu/riverdale-how-did-fred-andrews-die-tragic-storyline-explained/ https://briefnews.eu/riverdale-how-did-fred-andrews-die-tragic-storyline-explained/#respond Sat, 12 Oct 2019 00:13:04 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/riverdale-how-did-fred-andrews-die-tragic-storyline-explained/

Riverdale actor Luke Perry died at the age of 52 in March this year after suffering a stroke. The actor had been a staple on The CW teen drama as Fred Andrews, the father to main character Archie (played by KJ Apa). Luke died while filming was taking place, leading to production to shutting down out of respect. The producers made the decision to address Luke’s death in season four rather than the third outing.

How did Fred Andrews die in Riverdale?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Riverdale season 4, episode 1

Riverdale season four saw the town in mourning for Fred Andrews after his family learnt he’d died suddenly.

His son Archie was struck hard by the loss and wanted revenge against those responsible.

Archie got a phone call while he was at Pop’s diner and was told his father had died in a hit-and-run accident near Cherry Creek while he was out and about.

Fred was hit by a car while he was helping a woman (Shannen Doherty) who’d broken down at the side of the road.

The woman’s tyre had burst and Fred had been the only one to pull over as she stood by the edge of the road.

Sadly, while helping her, Fred was mowed down by a speeding car – the woman was with him when he died.

Town sheriff FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) informed Archie that they’d found out who the car had belonged to and would be bringing the man to justice.

However, a grief-stricken Archie took matters into his own hands and tracked down the culprit after finding his address in the phonebook.

As the high school student proceeded to beat up the man, he was stopped when he discovered that it was his teenage son Jeffrey (Ryan Grantham) who’d been behind the wheel.

Jeffrey confessed to Archie that he’d taken the car without permission when the accident occurred.

His father had covered for him and taken the fall, so his son wouldn’t pay the high price.

After hearing the story, Archie let go of the man, who rushed and hugged his son.

As Archie watched the pair, he was left heartbroken knowing that he would never be able to hug his own father again.

Jeffrey’s admission also made Archie realise that it had all been a terrible mistake by a child and quickly left the house.

Speaking about Fred’s death, Riverdale’s showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told TV Line: “Very early on, we landed on the idea that Fred should have a heroic death.”

He added: “It felt like that’s a way Fred could’ve gone.”

The producer also reflected on the inclusion of Luke’s Beverley Hills 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty, who plays the woman who Fred helps.

He said: “Over the seasons, Luke and I had talked a lot about trying to get Shannen on the show, and the timing never worked out.

“Rather than have another actor play [this role], we thought it would be nice if it were someone he cared for in real life.

“And he cared so deeply about Shannen… She really wanted to be a part of it, from when we first talked to her about it.”

Riverdale season 4 drops weekly on Netflix on Thursdays at 8am

“Then Drogon carries her body to Volantis, where she’s resurrected by High Priest Benerro.”

Moreover, the fan speculates the Mother of Dragons would have recognised who she had become.

“I’d like to think that afterwards, Dany would recognise that her pursuit of the Iron Throne turned her into a monster, and she’d forgive Jon for what he did.”
