Former President Donald Trump has been referencing the QAnon movement more frequently since the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on August 8.

  • Some people close to Trump are confused as to why he is suddenly leaning hard towards QAnon.
  • Some sources suggested to Rolling Stone that Trump was trolling for likes among his supporters.
  • Other sources told the outlet that Trump was amused by the QAnon memes and images he reposted.

Allies of former President Donald Trump are baffled as to why he is leaning harder than ever into his support of QAnon — a conspiracy-theory-led movement that baselessly claims Trump is fighting a deep-state cabal of pedophiles.

Rolling Stone spoke to several people close to Trump, some of whom expressed confusion as to why the former president was suddenly so vocal with promoting QAnon-related messages.

The New York Times reported over the weekend that music sounding like a QAnon song had been played at a Trump rally in Youngstown, Ohio. During the rally, the former president's supporters were also seen pointing their fingers to the sky in a one-finger salute, which experts said might have been a nod to the movement's slogan, "Where we go one, we go all."

"Fuck if I know," an unnamed Trump ally told Rolling Stone when asked about the former president's apparent support for the fringe group.

The outlet also spoke to other people close to the former president, some of whom theorized that Trump was trolling for likes from his supporters.

"He's said that he thinks some of their memes and images are 'funny,'" a source close to Trump said, per Rolling Stone. The same source said Trump also thought it was "hilarious" that the media would get "so mad" whenever the former president would "touch the Q shit."

Another Rolling Stone source, described as a former White House official, said that Trump sometimes thought his QAnon-linked followers had "the right idea" regarding their hatred for the "deep state," a term used in the movement to refer to shady, secret networks and alliances influencing power at the highest echelons of government.

"I do not remember his exact words, but [Trump's response] was along the lines of: There are plenty of bad and sick people in Hollywood" and among the "liberal elite," the source told Rolling Stone.

A representative at Trump's post-presidential press office did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Following the FBI's raid on the former president's Mar-a-Lago residence on August 8, Trump — who previously flirted with the idea of QAnon — has started referencing the movement far more intensely than before.

In August, Trump shared over a dozen messages on his Truth Social account, some of which referenced QAnon and contained baseless conspiracy theories about the FBI. Other posts by the former president on Truth Social this month have included a reposted image of himself sporting a "Q" lapel pin, along with the movement's slogan.

Former FBI official Frank Figliuzzi said this week that Trump's embracing of QAnon could be "the last act of a desperate man." Speaking to Insider on Monday, Figliuzzi said Trump's support of QAnon was indicative of "increasing desperation," which could lead to violence within the movement.

Since the recording was completed on the show, Joss has given birth to a baby daughter called Violet, who was delivered on February 1, 2021.

This is the first child the international music star has welcomed into the world with her boyfriend Cody DaLuz, 31.

It was during an appearance on her Cooking With Joss series on Facebook the singer revealed the news to the world.

“I have a very special little bun I’ve been making for about nine months. It’s cooked, it’s ready,” she began.

“Here’s one we made earlier. She’s so sweet. This is Violet. She’s was breach so she had to have a C-section which was delightful.

“They had to take her out of the sunroof. It was quick. We didn’t know she was a girl until that moment.”

Emma Stone to Star in The Curse Showtime Comedy From Uncut Gems’ Safdie Brothers and Nathan Fielder https://briefnews.eu/emma-stone-to-star-in-the-curse-showtime-comedy-from-uncut-gems-safdie-brothers-and-nathan-fielder/ https://briefnews.eu/emma-stone-to-star-in-the-curse-showtime-comedy-from-uncut-gems-safdie-brothers-and-nathan-fielder/#respond Thu, 10 Dec 2020 19:03:59 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/emma-stone-to-star-in-the-curse-showtime-comedy-from-uncut-gems-safdie-brothers-and-nathan-fielder/

Emma Stone‘s latest blessing is a real Curse.

The Oscar-winning actress will star in and executive-produce The Curse, an oddball scripted comedy that Showtime ordered to series Thursday, TVLine has learned.

The series follows a pair of newlyweds who co-star on a “problematic” HGTV series and are trying to start a family — if only an alleged curse weren’t seriously messing with their marriage.

Nathan for You‘s Nathan Fielder will co-star and direct. He’s also among the half-hour series’ executive producers, which includes Josh and Benny Safdie — aka Uncut Gems directors the Safdie Brothers. Benny Safdie will co-star in the series, as well.

“The fierce intelligence and wit of the incomparable Emma Stone make her the perfect partner with the ingenious minds of the Safdie brothers and the subversive comedy of Nathan Fielder,” Amy Israel, executive vice president, scripted programming, Showtime Networks said via statement. “Together, they promise to deliver a groundbreaking satire that is both unexpected and deeply human. Showtime continues to shine as a beacon for visionary filmmakers who are looking to create their ambitious, singular shows.”

In addition to films like La La Land, Birdman and Easy A, Stone has had several small-screen role gigs on shows like Drive, Medium and Malcolm in the Middle. In 2018, she starred opposite Jonah Hill in FX’s limited series Maniac.

Mark Labbett opens up on real reason behind 4 stone weight loss: ‘People going to hate me’ https://briefnews.eu/mark-labbett-opens-up-on-real-reason-behind-4-stone-weight-loss-people-going-to-hate-me/ https://briefnews.eu/mark-labbett-opens-up-on-real-reason-behind-4-stone-weight-loss-people-going-to-hate-me/#respond Tue, 04 Aug 2020 15:39:09 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/mark-labbett-opens-up-on-real-reason-behind-4-stone-weight-loss-people-going-to-hate-me/

Mark, 54, who is best known for his role on The Chase, spoke about his health in a conversation with the Loose Women panel on Tuesday afternoon. The Beast star is currently residing at home with his wife and young son as production on the ITV quiz show was ground to a halt in light of the coronavirus pandemic. During the nationwide lockdown, the quizmaster has continued to lose weight after coming down with what he thought to be “a typical virus” back in February. With more information about COVID-19 having been discovered since then, the general knowledge guru now believes this to be the real reason behind the change in his appearance.

Speaking to the presenters about the symptoms he had at the time, Mark explained: “The major one was a complete loss of taste and smell and no appetite.

“And I had the cough and the fever and bouts of exhaustion but because I didn’t have problems breathing – and this was back in February where that was the number one symptom, I thought I’ve just got some type of virus.

“For two weeks, I barely ate so at the time I was thinking, ‘Result!’” the quizmaster went on to add.

Asked what else he might have done to help him shed the pounds, The Beast star said: “People are going to hate me because I haven’t tried to lose weight.

“What’s happened is I had the brush with this virus or whatever it was and since then, I haven’t been going out.”

“So, I haven’t been having restaurant meals and my wife is a shift worker full-time so I’ve been a primary carer for our son,” Mark continued.

“As many of our viewers will know, if you’re looking after an active toddler 14 hours a day, seven days a week, you haven’t got time to eat.”

Following his diagnosis of type two diabetes in 2016, Mark took part in ITV reality show Sugar-Free Farm.

On the programme, he explained he had turned down the opportunity to take part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! due to the lack of food contestants eat.

In view of his 4,787 followers, he wrote: “Gradually losing the waistline 🙂 #skinnybeast #doubletwoshirts.”

Responding to the image, one fan commented: “Just seen this excellent work keep going, Guess there will be an exercise DVD soon.”

“Well done mark looking good. Keep it up. Losing weight is hard, but being overweight is even harder. I lost 9.5stone in 20 months. Keep going your doing great. Awesome,” a second posted. (sic)

A third remarked: “Well done, massive achievement, looking amazing,” with a fourth adding: “Hardest thing to do ever…well done you!”

In another interview published at the weekend, The Chaser also explained some of the other coronavirus-like symptoms he experienced.

“Apparently one of the symptoms they’re discovering now is rapid attacks. One morning I woke up at 1:30am shivering uncontrollably.

“I had to go downstairs to alter the central heating, and I couldn’t hold a pint of water in one hand because I was shaking so much.

“As a self-proclaimed fatty, of course, I was aware that having COVID wasn’t good, and clearly increased the severity of my risk,” he told The Sun.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.

Avengers Endgame: Captain Marvel to JOIN Thanos and turn AGAINST heroes? Mind Stone theory https://briefnews.eu/avengers-endgame-captain-marvel-to-join-thanos-and-turn-against-heroes-mind-stone-theory/ https://briefnews.eu/avengers-endgame-captain-marvel-to-join-thanos-and-turn-against-heroes-mind-stone-theory/#respond Wed, 10 Apr 2019 03:15:21 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/avengers-endgame-captain-marvel-to-join-thanos-and-turn-against-heroes-mind-stone-theory/

The Mad Titan didn’t get hold of the Mind Stone until the very end of Marvel‘s Infinity War, but now – after the Snap – he has it at his disposal.

So now that he has Carol Danvers, aka the exceptionally powerful Captain Marvel to contend with, could it be his secret weapon?

Reddit user NiallRiver519 argued that it could very well be the case – in a fan theory that has been upvoted by 83% of readers.

“The more footage that is revealed in the trailers, the more I’ve begun to think that Captain Marvel’s introduction will take place near the beginning of the film,” they wrote.

“In the footage shown at CinemaCon, it seems like almost immediately after she arrives at Avengers HQ, the team will depart for Titan 2 to face off with Thanos again. The difference this time is Captain Marvel is with them.

“They will encounter Thanos, and just as he is about to succumb to Captain Marvel, he uses the Mind Stone to take control of her mind the same way Loki used it in The Avengers.

“Thanos did not do this to any other heroes in Infinity War because he did not have the Mind Stone until the very end.

“And once he got it, there was no need to deploy the Stone’s power in that way. He just needed it to perform the Snap.”

The theorist went on: “I think he will realise that Captain Marvel is a legitimate threat.

“So instead of just killing her, he will turn her against the rest of the Avengers.

“The Avengers will quickly retreat back to Earth, leaving Thanos with a mind-controlled Carol on Titan 2 who will effectively be his new Black Order, singlehandedly.

“The Avengers will be forced to accept defeat. That is, until Scott Lang appears outside their HQ some years later…”

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo claimed earlier this week that none of the fan theories they have seen so far have accurately predicted what will happen in the film.

“Sometimes they’re wildly off, sometimes they’re kinda next door to what might happen,” Anthony Russo told Jake Hamilton.

“Here’s the thing, nothing’s ever that close.”

Avengers: Endgame is out on April 25.

Pokemon Go Sinnoh evolution UPDATE: New Gen 4 reveals and Sinnoh Stone expansion https://briefnews.eu/pokemon-go-sinnoh-evolution-update-new-gen-4-reveals-and-sinnoh-stone-expansion/ https://briefnews.eu/pokemon-go-sinnoh-evolution-update-new-gen-4-reveals-and-sinnoh-stone-expansion/#respond Fri, 01 Feb 2019 02:06:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pokemon-go-sinnoh-evolution-update-new-gen-4-reveals-and-sinnoh-stone-expansion/

Niantic has announced a big Pokemon Go Sinnoh Stone update for Android and iOS.

Trainers will now find that they have new options when it comes to Gen 4 evolutions.

When the Sinnoh Stone first launched it came with a confirmed list of Gen 4 evolutions.

And today Niantic has officially expanded that list to include new Pokemon for the Sinnoh Stone.

The new Gen 4 evolutions that have been revealed today includes Lickitung into Lickilicky and Tangela into Tangrowth.

But wait, there’s more.

Not only will more Sinnoh Stone evolutions be discovered by fans very soon but more Gen 4 Pokemon have been released into the wild.

Cranidos and Shieldon are two of the confirmed arrivals, while fans can also expect more Sinnoh Pokemon in eggs too.

Away from the headline news, Niantic has also made some important baseline changes.

Some Pokemon have become more powerful in Raid battles, while others will now be able to learn new moves.

Here’s the latest from Niantic, who confirmed: “Did you know that some Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region evolve from Pokémon previously discovered in other regions?

“Starting today, you’ll be able to use a Sinnoh Stone to evolve Lickitung into Lickilicky, Tangela into Tangrowth, and more!

“Plus, more Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, such as Cranidos and Shieldon, will appear in the wild for the first time!

“You may also see more Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region appearing in Eggs.

“There are also some big changes coming! You may notice that Pokémon that appear in Raid Battles are more powerful and sturdy when you challenge them. Plus, some moves that certain Pokémon know may be stronger or weaker when used in battle.

“Finally, certain Pokémon may be able to learn new moves via TM that will help them perform in battle, such as Machamp now being able to know the Rock-type move Rock Slide!”

Fans are testing out the new options and what new Sinnoh Stone evolutions might be coming soon.

“I get an error for FE Snorunt at the moment, but I have evolved 3 of the new guys,” one fan wrote online.

“I have Ambipom, LickiLicky, Tangrowth. It looks like Yanma can evolve as can FE Snorunt (It errors for me), but I am now out of Sinnoh Stones.”

More news concerning the big Pokemon Go update is expected to be found by Trainers over the coming days.

SNL Casts Steve Martin as Roger Stone — Watch Him Beg Trump for a Pardon https://briefnews.eu/snl-casts-steve-martin-as-roger-stone-watch-him-beg-trump-for-a-pardon/ https://briefnews.eu/snl-casts-steve-martin-as-roger-stone-watch-him-beg-trump-for-a-pardon/#respond Sun, 27 Jan 2019 07:27:50 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/snl-casts-steve-martin-as-roger-stone-watch-him-beg-trump-for-a-pardon/

Saturday Night Live briefly turned one of the most likable actors in Hollywood into one of the most reviled men in America. No stranger to the program, Steve Martin made a special appearance atop this week’s SNL, playing the freshly incarcerated Roger Stone.

Martin’s Stone was a guest on Tucker Carlson Tonight, with Alex Moffat portraying the polarizing Fox News anchor. Introduced as “a man you look at and instantly think, ‘I trust this guy,’” Stone announced his arrival by exclaiming, “What a fun couple of days! I’m loving the ride.”

When asked if being arrested by the FBI and indicted on seven criminal charges has taken a toll on his overall wellbeing, Stone laughed off such nonsense. “Honestly, I think I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” he said. “I mean, seven felonies? I can’t even count that high! How cool is that?”

Carlson then suggested that Stone should perhaps be portraying himself as a “feeble old man,” at which point he quickly shifted gears. “Oh, right the pity thing,” Stone acknowledged. “I’m just a poor, helpless old man. I’m 66. I’m almost as old as Sting!”

After alleging that he’s suffering financially as a result of his arrest, Stone said, “I set up a donation page based on a phrase people have been yelling at me: ‘Hey, Roger, go fund yourself!’” He then wrapped his memorable appearance on the show by literally begging President Trump to pardon him. (And it’s Fox News, so you know he’s watching.)

Actor Geoffrey Rush denies new sexual harassment allegations from former protege, Yael Stone https://briefnews.eu/actor-geoffrey-rush-denies-new-sexual-harassment-allegations-from-former-protege-yael-stone/ https://briefnews.eu/actor-geoffrey-rush-denies-new-sexual-harassment-allegations-from-former-protege-yael-stone/#respond Mon, 17 Dec 2018 13:15:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/actor-geoffrey-rush-denies-new-sexual-harassment-allegations-from-former-protege-yael-stone/ Yael StoneAlberto E. • Australia will be rocked by the latest allegations against the award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush put forward in Sunday’s New York Times, this time from his one time protege, Yael Stone.
  • Stone told The Times that she alleges Rush “danced naked in front of her in their dressing room, used a mirror to watch her while she showered and sent her occasionally erotic text messages while the two shared the stage performing at Sydney’s Belvoir Theatre in “The Diary of a Madman” in 2010 and 2011.
  • Rush denies the allegations.
  • Alongside the other Academy Award winning Australian actor, Cate Blanchett, Rush forms a powerful double act that dominates the Australian theatre industry.
  • The star of The King’s Speech has spent much of 2018 in court and is in the process of seeking  damages for defamation from the newspaper that published recent allegations of inappropriate behaviour in the Sydney theatre scene.

By airing allegations of sexual misconduct with the New York Times on Sunday night, the Australian-born actor Yael Stone faces both the challenge of confronting the most powerful man in Australian theatre, but also running the gauntlet of Australia’s upside down libel laws.

A young Australian stage actor who had informally made a complaint late last year with the Sydney Theatre Company over Rush’s alleged “inappropriate behaviour,” has found this out to her own detriment, being called as the star witness in a defamation case derived from her own complaint to the theatre that employed both her and Rush.

Pokemon Go news: Did getting the Sinnoh Stone and new Gen 4 Pokemon just get harder? https://briefnews.eu/pokemon-go-news-did-getting-the-sinnoh-stone-and-new-gen-4-pokemon-just-get-harder/ https://briefnews.eu/pokemon-go-news-did-getting-the-sinnoh-stone-and-new-gen-4-pokemon-just-get-harder/#respond Wed, 28 Nov 2018 18:02:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pokemon-go-news-did-getting-the-sinnoh-stone-and-new-gen-4-pokemon-just-get-harder/

Niantic has released a lot of new features and updates this year, the Sinnoh Stone being one of them.

And Pokemon Go fans believed they knew how the new Gen 4 item worked, following its surprise release earlier this year.

While Trainers have tried many different things to try and earn a Sinnoh Stone, so far, the only way to get one has been through Research breakthroughs.

This means completing seven days of daily research tasks, something that’s pretty routine for dedicated players.

However, it appears things may have changed drastically this week which could change how to get Sinnoh Stones in Pokemon Go.

HOW TO GET SINNOH STONES IN POKEMON GO.

The in-game description confirms what the Sinnoh Stone is used for, evolving original Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon into their Gen 4 forms.

“A special stone originally found in the Sinnoh region that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is very tough and has a beautiful sheen.”

Fans have been using the Sinnoh Stone to evolve Pokemon like Rhydon into Rhyperior, Magmar into Magmortar, Togetic into Togekiss, Murkrow into Honchkrow, Misdreavus into Mismagius, Gligar into Gliscor, Sneasel into Weavile, Porygon 2 into Porygon-Z, Roselia into Roserade and Dusclops into Dusknoir.

These are the original list that was confirmed in the first week of the new item going live in Pokemon Go.

But now players are reporting that the parameters for getting a Sinnoh Stone may have changed.

According to the latest reports, the Sinnoh Stone is no longer a guaranteed bonus for completing a 7-day Research Breakthrough.

Some Trainers received the stone as normal while others didn’t have one appear as a reward.

This would suggest that the item has now become a random reward, making it even harder to get.

“The biggest problem with making it random is the player no longer feels in control,” one Trainer rights.

“The more of this Niantic does, the less I have been caring as it does not matter what I do. Being hard is playing the game, being lucky is not a game mechanic you can get better at.”

Others are trying to work out the effects of this changed and how it could affect players who are unlucky enough to not get a Sinnoh Stone after completing the daily tasks.

Given that the Sinnoh Stone is now a randomised reward for the weekly research breakthrough, rather than guaranteed addition, why choose a window of 13 days for the guarantee?

“Assuming the weekly schedule is evenly distributed over the days of the week (and trainers keep handing those quests in), this would leave one in seven with one less guaranteed stone as a result, for those unlucky, half the reward for the same amount of effort over 14 days,” The Reddit post reads.

“It’s surely bad enough that those same trainers had the highest (six-day) penalty of waiting to access the locked content.”

Niantic has been silent on the subject of Sinnoh Stones but may need to clarify how they work in the future.

Keeping such a big gameplay mechanic a mystery in the game may boost curiosity but may also lead to less player interaction in the long term.

The good news is that this might just be a glitch that has caused some players not to receive the item this week, rather than a switch in how things work.

FIELD RESEARCH

To collect Field Research tasks, Trainers have to spin the Photo Disc at nearby PokéStops, which allows for one Field Research task per PokéStop per day.

Trainers receive a notification on the bottom-right corner of the screen when they collect or make progress in these tasks.

It should be noted that Pokemon Go players can collect and make progress on up to 3 Field Research tasks at a time.

And after you complete a task and claim its reward, you free up space to collect another task. Field research can also be discarded if they prove too difficult to complete.

Earning Stamps unlocks the Research Breakthroughs you need for the Sinnoh Stone.
