Dramatic video footage captured the nerve-shredding moment a man uses his SUV to shunt a flaming car away from fuel pumps at a gas station – potentially saving dozens of lives.

The incident took place on Monday evening at a station north of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia according to news outlet Sabq.

The flaming wreck sits perilously close to the fuel pumps as several people frantically try to put the fire out with little success. Sabq says up to 50 people were in the vicinity of the fire.

The heroic driver, 20-year-old Sultan bin Mohammed al-Hazim al-Rajban, used his powerful vehicle to shove the burning car out of harm’s way until fire crews could attend the scene.

“I was coming out of the mosque following the Maghrib prayers when I saw a large crowd trying to deal with a car on fire next to the petrol pump,” Al-Hazim said.

“It was a dramatic scene with many civilians next to the car and others at the nearby ATM machine.

“I felt a strong urge to make the scene safe for everyone and I did not hold myself back. I got in my car, drove it to the burning vehicle and pushed it away from the pump to avoid the tragedy waiting to happen.”

The wheel of Al-Hazim’s car caught on fire while he carried out the courageous act. A video of the vehicle in the aftermath of the incident shows it blackened from the flames.

“I tried to put out the fire that broke out on the front tires of my vehicle, and thanks to God – I went through the road to another road, and my car only suffered minor damage,” he said.

Gulf News reports that the man was heaped with praise on social media, as many credited him with saving numerous lives.

“It is thanks to people like him who push the limits of courage and sacrifice that we can move forward proudly of what we can do for our nation,” Fahad said.

“He deserves to be honored for saving lives and property. The least that the owner of the gas station should do is to pay for fixing his car and to give him free gas for one year,” a commenter called Motivator added.

From how often blankets and headphones are changed on planes to how you can use the first class line at security, flight attendants have made some of their greatest airline secrets public. 

Flight attendants, past and present, took to question-and-answer site Quora to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of flights. 

One of the most talked about topics was hygiene of free items on planes. 

Shockingly, the foam ear parts which are usually found on free headphones are hardly ever changed.

One former flight attendant wrote: “Airlines who provide headphones hardly or even never bother to replace the foamy-like ear parts. 

“So please always tear them once you use them just to make sure that they will replace them.” 

Another item air passengers may want to be weary of is free blankets. 

The same ex-cabin crew member revealed: “It depends on how cheap the airline is, but I’ve had my share in seeing them refolding the blankets for the passengers on the next flight to use – at least they were generous enough to replace the pillow covers and the head rest covers.” 

Something passengers may never have considered is why sometimes cans of fizzy drinks are not always full. 

The reason behind this is the flight’s catering team does not always provide enough cans for every single passenger, particularly if it is a full flight. 

As a result, the drinks need to be “rationed”. 

A top tip which emerged from the forum could shave heaps of time off airport waiting time.

One flight attendant wrote: “You can use the first class line at security. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) does’t care, it’s more about treating first class passengers like gold – and it’s something the airlines do, not the TSA.”

Other secrets revealed included cabin crew getting “slightly better” meals than passengers,  the tiny little holes in windows are called bleeds holes and are supposed to be there as they allow air to pass through the window, and if it’s raining hard landings are made on purpose to force water from beneath the plane’s tyres. 

If you have just been married or you are on your honeymoon you should also let the crew go. 

One flight attendant said: “The cabin crew likes to haver fun – and they can make your trip extra special.” 

Cabin crew have also revealed the secret behind those in-flight overhead noises.

An Air Canada plane attempted to land on the wrong runway at San Francisco airport recently – at one point coming within 59ft of four planes waiting below, according to photos and data released by the US National Transportation Safety Board.

The Air Canada Airbus 320 from Toronto was cleared to land on runway 28R at San Francisco International Airport just before midnight on July 7, according to an investigation update from the NTSB.

A map of the airport’s tarmac layout shows runway 28R is between runway 28L and taxiway C.

However 28L was out of service as it was under construction. Despite a 20ft flashing ‘X‘ signal on the runway and prior notice of its closure, the Air Canada pilots saw two lit-up runways and assumed taxiway C was their intended target.

At the time, four planes sat on taxiway C awaiting their take-off clearance: two United Airlines Boeing 787s, a Philippines Airlines Airbus A340, and a United Airlines Boeing 737.

According to the Flight Data Recorder, the Air Canada plane lined up to land on taxiway C and was about 0.7 miles (1.1km) from the landing threshold and some 300ft above ground level when flight crew alerted the ATC tower. Spotting lights on the runway, the crew requested landing confirmation from the controllers.

At that point, the plane was too near the taxiway to be spotted on the radar system used to prevent collisions. It actually didn’t appear on the air traffic control display “for about 12 seconds,” according to NTSB.

The flight was again re-cleared to land on runway 28R, and was 0.3 mile from the landing threshold on taxiway C, when the first United Airlines flight awaiting take off noticed its impending approach. The Philippine Airlines plane sitting second in the queue flashed their landing lights to alert the approaching plane of their mistake.

Air Canada was 85ft above the ground when they realized their potentially fatal error and powered the plane’s thrusters to abort landing, narrowly passing over the four planes below.

“About 2.5 seconds after advancing the thrust levers, the minimum altitude recorded on the FDR was 59ft [above ground level],” reads the NTSB report.

By the time air traffic controllers directed the Air Canada pilots to fly around, they had already begun their climb.

Audio of air traffic control communications captured the concern of the pilots watching the approaching Air Canada flight. “United One, Air Canada just flew directly over us,” one says, while another says: “Where’s this guy going? He’s on the taxiway.”

The NTSB was not alerted to the incident until July 9, however at that point Air Canada’s cockpit voice recorder had been overwritten. The agency says its in the preliminary stages of their investigation.

Stomach-churning footage has captured the view from the bottom of a rooftop pool. 

Market Square Tower in Texas hosts an infinity pool on its 42nd floor. 

If you’re taking a dip, you can step to the edge of the building and just keep on walking. 

The body of water extends 10ft over the side of the skyscraper and the section was built using transparent glass.

This hair-raising clip shows a swimmer walking to the edge of the tower, then continuing to walk out on the see-through section. 

The suddenly appearing view under his feet shows the busy streets 500ft below. 

Featuring eight-inch-thick plexiglass, the Sky Pool’s unique floor is an experience for daredevils only. 

The luxury apartment block based in Houston offers units for anywhere between $ 2,400 (£1,932) to $ 25,000 (£20,126) per month.

Posted to the Market Square Tower Facebook page, the jaw-dropping pool video has been viewed more than two million times. 

Thousands of viewers have shared their shocked reactions, with one user commenting: “My anxiety was through the roof just watching this.”

One person said: “Did anyone else feel like they were gonna die just looking at this”.

Another wrote: “This instantly gave me chills”.

The luxury liner was stationed in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, as ominous foamy waves rocked it from side to side.

As the winds swirled around it, the water raged more and more viciously.

Video captured from above the giant ship caught the terrifying moment the cruise almost succumbed to the torrential weather.

With one forceful motion, the enormous boat was pushed right over onto its side.

After a few heart-stopping moments, the vessel thankfully tipped back into place, as the storm continued to rage around it.

The clip has gone viral since it was shared online – originally taken back in 2005. 

Uploaded to content site Reddit this morning, the jaw-dropping footage has received comments from viewers who shared their shock.

One Reddit user wrote: “I’m choosing to believe that they balanced the boat by having everybody run to the opposite side to counter the rolling.”

Another shared: “Nope nope nope nope nope. Going on a weekend cruise in June. This is not what I wanted to see.”

One user commented: “I may have held my breath for those people. Damn!”

The incident is believed to have happened on the Olympic Voyager cruise from the Balearic Islands to Sardinia in Italy. 

One of the waves had earlier caused the ship’s elementary system controls to shut down, which forced all four engines off.

The blonde beauty has been captured on camera by her boyfriend as they took on a stomach-churning rollercoaster ride. 

Sitting in a brightly coloured seat, the woman started off looking calm and serene, with a grin on her face. 

But as the ride began its hair-raising ascent, her expression changed slightly to one of apprehension. 

The carriage ticked over the highest hump before hurtling down towards the ground at alarming speed.

It flew vertically to the earth before rocketing upwards again on repeat. 

The woman began screaming as the camera panned back and forth between her and the direction of the ride. 

Each time it flipped back to her, the woman’s expression grew more and more horrified. 

Eventually she burst into tears, as she screamed with her mouth pasted wide open.

The woman leaned forward awkwardly as she grew hysterical, with the ride showing no signs of slowing down. 

When it eventually came to a stop, the blonde adventurer turned to the camera with a less than impressed expression on her face. 

The footage was captured on the Behemoth ride at Wonderland theme park in Ontario, Canada. 

It was the tallest and fasted coaster in the country until 2012 and the experience lasts around three minutes.

The short clip shows the large spider suspended on its web – and something surprising is caught in it.

A large snake can be seen struggling to move – hissing and twisting as it attempts to break free.

But there is no chance for the snake, which is held above the ground by the incredibly strong web.

The spider does not approach the snake during the footage, probably waiting for it to wear itself out first.

The gruesome clip has gone viral online, with over 70,000 views.

Commenters were at once fascinated and appalled, with one writing: “I wonder how would the spider go about it’s meal now.” (sic)

Another said: “Black widow webs are stronger than average, and that snake has no leverage.

“Without leverage it doesn’t matter how strong it is.”

Instead of throwing them up in the air, she throws them down, and the spin and bounce in and out of her hands.

But most impressive of all – the girl does this while walking back and forth on a flight of stairs.

The clip has had nearly a million views on Imgur, with hundreds of comments impressed by the trick.

One commenter wrote: “That’s some serious skill.”
