Tyrone (played by Alan Halsall) was left to his own devices on Coronation Street, looking after his daughter Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi) when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) decided to take her daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) to Birmingham for several months after the youngster was causing havoc with her behaviour. The mechanic’s grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) was on hand to help her grandson, though the two have recently become distant after it was revealed the pensioner was the one who left Tyrone on the steps of a police station when his mother gave birth to him years ago. However, florist and Weatherfield nanny Mary Taylor (Patti Claire) saw the help Tyrone needed in looking after Ruby, with the mechanic struggling to juggle his home life with his commitments to work at the garage. After months of being away from her partner, Fiz will soon make her return to the cobbles after Jennie McAlpine, 35, took a break from the ITV soap for maternity leave, but it might not be as simple as settling back into life on the street for her character. Although the couple’s relationship seemed strong before Fiz left the street, on her return to the cobbles, Fiz could struggle to adjust to life back in Weatherfield with Evelyn possibly continuing to make life difficult for the pair. When Fiz left the street once before 18 months ago, with the actress taking part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Tyrone slept with Kebab shop worker Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) which put the couple’s relationship under strain when Fiz uncovered the truth. Tyrone has remained faithful to his partner this time around, however, with Evelyn only recently getting her own relationship back on track with her grandson following their dispute, she could decide to cause some mischief, having not taken a liking to Fiz when she first arrived on the cobbles. Evelyn could stir the pot if she discovers Tyrone accidentally thought Mary was his secret admirer when the mechanic received a Valentine’s Day card from his daughter last month, with the nanny writing the message on behalf of Ruby. However, wanting to bring a wedge between the pair, Evelyn could decide to tell Fiz her grandson was unfaithful to her again, having an affair with Mary while she was away from the cobbles. With Fiz out of a job as well following the tragic Underworld factory roof collapse which aired this week, the mother could begin to spiral into despair as she decides not to confront Tyrone but constantly worries whether she can trust her partner. Could Tyrone be left guessing what he’s done wrong if Fiz packs her bags once more and leaves Weatherfield with Hope for good as she struggles to accept whether she will ever be able to get over her partner’s supposed betrayal? However, if Fiz decides to confront Tyrone and Mary about their ‘affair,’ the former factory worker could turn her attention to booting Evelyn out the couple’s house once and for all when the mechanic explains his wires were crossed over the Valentine’s Day card. Actress Jennie McAlpine recently spoke about her future on the cobbles when speaking on the Humans of XS Manchester podcast. Jennie said: “The thing is, you never, never know and I can’t ever take it for granted because they (the writers) might have other ideas one day. “But for now, I love it and I live in Manchester. I’ve got my life in Manchester and now two children in Manchester,” the actress went on to add. It has not yet been confirmed when Fiz will be returning to Coronation Street but there will be drama aplenty as her brother Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) is set to become a father again with his girlfriend and his sister’s former love-rival, Gemma. The rebel with a heart found herself embroiled in the factory collapse disaster with the Underworld factory workers when they decided to protest about boss Carla Connor (Alison King) outsourcing production as she knew the roof was unsafe. Though they and the other Weatherfield residents didn’t realise, with the roof collapse claiming the life of beloved character Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) when she went to the factory to get her bag on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brooks). Following the death of Rana and the disaster which unfolded, the finger of blame will be pointed at Kate’s sister Carla as a police investigation begins into how the roof came to collapse. However, what no-one yet realises is the carnage was caused by the soaps latest super villain, with the tragedy the first act in their reign of terror no the cobbles. Coronation Street continues Sunday at 8pm on ITV.
“I don’t know when we’re going to overthrow them. It could be in a few days, months, a couple of years, but it’s going to happen. They’re going to be overthrown, the people of Iran have obviously had enough,” said Giuliani at a so-called ‘Iran Uprising Summit’ held by the Organization of Iranian-American Communities in New York.

Speaking to members of Iranian expat and dissident communities in the US, who are seeking political change in Iran, the 74-year-old lawyer praised Donald Trump’s bullish approach towards Tehran, boasting that sanctions slapped on Iran, after the White House unilaterally withdrew from the internationally-backed nuclear deal in May, are stalling the country’s economy and damaging Iranians’ lives.
Mayor Giuliani:
You, the Iranian people & supporters of the #PMOI/#MEK, are keeping the protests alive. Your support, the work you’re doing.
We know the powerful influence you have Iran. If anyone doubts it, why does the Iranian regime wants to kill you so much.#FreeIranSummitpic.twitter.com/rbjMSeJZAX— People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) (@Mojahedineng) September 22, 2018
“The sanctions are working. The currency is going to nothing … These are the conditions that lead to successful revolution, and, God willing, non-violent revolution,” he said.
While the US administration has vowed to maintain economic pressure on the Islamic Republic with more sanctions to come into force on November 4 to target Iran’s energy sector, the State Department immediately distanced itself from Giuliani’s comments, stressing that Trump’s personal lawyer does not speak for the administration.
The imposition of sanctions has impacted Iran’s economy and caused the country’s currency to drop in value. The worsening socio-economic conditions have also led to street demonstrations across the country. While Tehran has acknowledged the people’s right to demonstrate, it urged the public to do so in a civil and a peaceful manner. At the same time, the Iranian leadership pinned the blame for sporadic violence on the US and their allies, accusing them of pushing for a regime change in the country.
While Trump has never been shy of supporting the opposition in Iran, his National Security Advisor John Bolton recently noted that a straightforward “regime change” in the country is not being considered by the administration. “Just to be clear, regime change in Iran is not American policy. But what we want is massive change in the regime’s behavior,” Bolton told Reuters in August.
Giuliani’s anti-Tehran comments came immediately after the Iranian supreme leader accused the US and its regional “puppets” of instigating the deadly shooting attack at a military parade in the city of Ahvaz that killed at least 25 people on Saturday.
After staying silent for hours following the atrocity, the US State Department finally issued a statement saying that Americans “stand with the Iranian people against the scourge of radical Islamic terrorism.” At the same time, however, National Security Council spokesman Garrett Marquis added that the “regime in Tehran” should better focus on keeping its citizens “safe at home.”

One small step for man, one giant sh*tstorm for the internet. A new Canadian-directed Neil Armstrong biopic drew fierce criticism after it left out the iconic planting of the star-spangled banner on the moon.
‘First Man’ opened to rave reviews from audiences at the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday for Canadian actor Ryan Gosling’s portrayal of astronaut Neil Armstrong. Faithfully depicting the 1969 moon landing, the movie did leave out one important detail: Armstrong’s planting of the American flag, which still stands motionless on the moon today.
American flags could be seen in the background in several shots, but the omission still rankled American viewers. How could Hollywood write such a towering American achievement out of history?
Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) led the charge. “This is total lunacy,” he tweeted. “The American people paid for that mission,on rockets built by Americans, with American technology & carrying American astronauts. It wasn’t a UN mission.”
This is total lunacy. And a disservice at a time when our people need reminders of what we can achieve when we work together. The American people paid for that mission,on rockets built by Americans, with American technology & carrying American astronauts. It wasn’t a UN mission. https://t.co/eGwBq7hj8C
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) August 31, 2018
Others jumped in to vent their anger at this piece of “revisionist PC history bullsh*t.”
We literally declared a mission to go to the moon to plant the American flag. It wasn't an afterthought. It was the point of the endeavor. https://t.co/dxaXW45Pfm
— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) August 31, 2018
I was looking forward to seeing the movie as I remember the date when the AMERICAN FLAG was planted on the moon, but as ARMSTRONG said "One small step for MAN, one GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND. Without AMERICA providing the platform, the MOON LANDING wouldn't have taken place then
— Michael Murdock 🇺🇸❌ (@dmmktg) August 31, 2018
Lead actor Ryan Gosling threw more gasoline on the dumpster fire when he defended director Damien Chazelle’s decision to leave out the flag. The landing, he said, was a “human achievement,” not an American one, and a victory “transcending countries and borders.”
“So I don’t think that Neil viewed himself as an American hero,” Gosling continued. “From my interviews with his family and people that knew him, it was quite the opposite. And we wanted the film to reflect Neil.”
“That’s not the Neil Armstrong I know,” tweeted World War II fighter ace Chuck Yeager, the man who broke the sound barrier. As derision continued to pour in on Twitter, reminding Chazelle and Gosling they were in La-La-Land no longer, Yeager called the new movie “more Hollywood make-believe.”
That's not the Neil Armstrong I knew

"Defeating the Nazi's transcended countries, so we decided to ignore America's involvement in WW2" -said no war director ever. Go ahead, ignore the accomplishment and consider turning down the role if you can't handle it. https://t.co/sGjp5n79va

While planning the Apollo 11 moon mission, NASA actually did debate planting a United Nations flag on the moon instead of an American one. In the end they settled on the star-spangled banner as a symbol of the perceived US ‘victory’ over the Soviet Union in the space race.
‘First Man’ is not the first depiction of America’s space program to cause controversy. 2016’s ‘Hidden Figures’ caused some ire for supposedly expanding the role three black female mathematicians played in the success of the early US space program.

Nogaro Blue is a heritage color for Audi Sport (the former Quattro division), ever since the first RS model, the Porsche-engineered RS2 Avant, wore this signature hue. Now the brand is launching the awesome RS6 Avant in a special Nogaro Edition that boasts more than just a special paint color. Unfortunately, it won’t be offered in the United States.
–
The RS6 Avant, after all, is a station wagon, and U.S. customers have made it abundantly clear that they prefer their performance cars with conventional sedan bodies. Or, even better, in the form of jacked-up SUVs with a lofty center of gravity and the drag coefficient of a barn—but we digress.
–
–
When Audi launched its current-generation RS6 Avant, which is now at the tail end of its life cycle, it was a bit of a step down from its predecessor. The model had gone from a 580-hp twin-turbocharged V-10 to a 550-hp twin-turbo V-8. But this was quickly rectified with a Performance version, rated at 605 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The Nogaro Edition is even better: It can be specified with a power upgrade by Audi’s racing partner, the tuner Abt Sportsline, which jacks maximum power to 705 horsepower and torque to 649 lb-ft. Top speed rises from 190 to 200 mph.
–
The Nogaro Edition, naturally, is painted Nogaro Blue, and customers can specify a blue or black interior. A sports differential, carbon-ceramic brakes, and dynamic steering are all standard. Only 150 units will be built, and a commemorative plaque reads 1/150—which does not mean the lucky owner got the first car in the series, but “one of 150.”
–
–
–
–
–
As to the cooperation with Abt Sportsline, don’t read too much into it. This is a one-time project, we’re told by a high-ranking executive. Which can only enhance this model’s status as a future collectible.

Fox News pundit Laura Ingraham is concerned the #MeToo movement is a “spoiler” for Christmas parties and is taking the “fun” out of the festive season.
“Is the #MeToo movement becoming a spoiler for this season’s Christmas parties?” Ingraham asked at the start of her segment, The Ingraham Angle on Friday.
People speaking out about their experiences of sexual harassment as a result of the #MeToo movement are threatening to ruin the fun at Christmas parties, especially for those emboldened by the mistletoe, Ingraham posits.
“I can see this year it might be — a little less festive, let’s say that,” Ingraham said. “No alcohol and no fun and no lampshades and, I don’t know, maybe that’s better.”
“Is this just killing all the fun of Christmas?” Ingraham asked her guest, comedian Jimmy Failla.
Ingraham and Failla turned their ridicule towards media organization Vox, which announced it would impose a two drink limit at the office Christmas party to ensure things stayed under control. The decision was made after its editorial director Lockhart Steele was fired for sexual harassment in October.
“I’m not a big office Christmas party person myself,” Ingraham said, unsurprising given that she is employed by Fox.
Former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes and host Bill O’Reilly were forced to resign following a deluge of reports of sexual harassment spanning years, while host Eric Bolling left in September after being accused of sending unsolicited photos of his penis to fellow Fox employees. Charles Payne from Fox Business Network was also accused of sexual harassment and rape in September, and Jamie Horowitz was fired from Fox Sports in January for sexual harassment.
FOXNews’ Laura @IngrahamAngle is worried that women speaking out about sexual harassment and abuse is “just killing all the fun of Christmas.” STOP. Wholly inappropriate anywhere, let alone @FOXNews—with record of sexual harassment charges. #MeToo@RVAWonkhttps://t.co/PXZ7V7aAje

Sorry ladies, Laura Ingraham of Fox News thinks you potentially being raped and then reporting it is making Christmas parties “less festive” and it’s “killing all the fun of Christmas”. https://t.co/5eF3v9cG5v

Tis’ almost the season to be jolly. But UK grocery giant Tesco is facing an angry online backlash for their new Christmas advert because it features a Muslim family.
Part of a festive campaign to raise money for charity, the “Turkey, Every Which Way” advert is aimed at promoting inclusion during the holiday period. It shows a number of British families as they prepare for the not always straight-forward task of cooking a traditional Christmas dinner.
“We want our customers to know that however they choose to do Christmas, and no matter what they need, we can help – everyone’s welcome at Tesco,” the company’s CEO Alessandra Bellini said at the advert’s release last week.
But the message appears to have gone over the heads of some people, with a flurry of angry online comments aimed at the supermarket chain.
For some, it seems that Muslim people featuring in a Christmas advert just isn’t a realistic enough depiction of a holiday that also sees a large, bearded man from the North Pole deliver presents to every good child in the world.
Hey, Tesco. .. I don’t mind ONE BIT about your Xmas ads featuring Muslims wearing headscarves. …. I’m looking forward to your Eid ads. .. Featuring Christians – wearing crucifixes.
— Heather McDougall (@heatherm999) November 10, 2017
I would prefer a more traditional Christmas advert. But Tesco does do a lot for local and nationwide charities.
— mark (@m_harris2010) November 8, 2017
#Tesco I object strongly to your anti- Christian Xmas advert how dare you politicise our festival in order to appease lefty political correctness. You have lost me as a customer now, you should rethink your advertising campaign, British people still live here. #MerryChristmas

I’m so offended by @Tesco Christmas advert showing contempt for Christianity I’m no longer shopping there. I’m cutting up my points card too!
— Sue McDonald (@suemcdonald342) November 10, 2017
But not everyone is opposed to Tesco’s nuanced take on Christmas. Others praised the retailer and hit out at those complaining about the inclusion of Muslims.
Well done Tesco! Its about time Christmas adverts were more inclusive. Who could possibly object to that?
— Fighting Hate (@MaryBunford) November 7, 2017
If you’re offended by the Tesco Christmas advert then PLEASE boycott the stores so I don’t have to see your racist faces when I’m choosing my Brussels sprouts.
— Sofie (@Sofie_PS) November 11, 2017
To the mugs offended by the #tescochristmasadvert how are you angry that a Asian family was in it? I doubt all you white people are even devote Christians to be celebrating Xmas. And Christmas is hardly a exclusively religious Holiday anymore, it has national and cultural ties pic.twitter.com/wPAGtiXQQ5

A new Dutch TV panel show explores what constitutes consent, workplace harassment and rape, using actors to reenact some of the most notorious sexual assault cases ftom the country’s recent history. But many in the Netherlands are finding the premise of “Rape or Not” distasteful.
“Sex is a beautiful thing, provided both people see it in the same way. But if one of the people doesn’t see it that way, you need to have a conversation. What constitutes crossing the line? We want to have that conversation,” Bernard van den Bosch, the producer of the show that will broadcast through this month, told Algemeen Dagblad newspaper.
During the episodes, dedicated to potential rape at work, in social encounters, and within a relationship, a studio panel and audience reviews the evidence on the basis of staged and filmed clips, documents and testimonies from participants, some of whom have agreed to take part as themselves. At the end, each case is either a judge “rape” or “not a rape,” with users deploying hashtags on Twitter to signal their allegiance to various sides of the story.
The makers say that they were inspired by the sexualization of society when they conceived the format a year ago, but have welcomed the timing of the #MeToo movement, in which millions of Twitter and Facebook users have shared their testimonies of sexual abuse following the Harvey Weinstein revelations.
Van den Bosch hopes that his show can reintroduce “nuance” into the discussion.
“One person claims rape, the other says they are innocent. This is a personal situation. Our show is about this grey area,” said the producer.
Not everyone is on board with letting a group of strangers pontificate on such sensitive issues – and wonder about the consequences of the program on the real people behind the stories.
Professor Toine Lagro-Janssen, who runs a center that helps victims of sexual violence in the city of Nijmegen, says that not being believed is often worse for the victim than the rape itself.
“Such a verdict is so terribly harmful,” Lagro-Janssen told the website Blendle. “If you do not recognize something, then you stop the victim from accepting that something has happened to them. And acceptance is the first step to processing and coping with the trauma.”
Prominent Dutch journalist Remy van Mannekes has also criticized the “extraordinarily bizarre” format on Twitter, saying that it turns “all the participants into losers.”
Several other social media users have also described the program as “nonsense” or said that it made them “disgusted,” as well as questioning whether the producers were exploiting the victims by luring viewers with the controversial title.
But the producers say that the program has been aired with input from the Netherlands Center for Sexual Violence, and should educate, not inflame public opinion.

A police officer with a Templar cross on his bulletproof vest has found himself in hot water in Belgium. Authorities say the symbol may be linked to extreme right-wing groups, while many on social media support ‘Kevin the Crusader.’
The dispute in Couvin, Belgium, a town of 13,000 people, started on Thursday when local media made several reports about a police officer wearing a Templar cross on his bulletproof vest. The media immediately linked the cross to extremist groups who sometimes use it as a symbol of their fight against Muslims.
The story quickly became popular, with images of the ‘knight,’ dubbed ‘Kevin the Crusader,’ widely shared on social media. La Nouvelle Gazette newspaper identified the chevalier as Kevin François.
‘The Templar’ caught the attention of the local authorities, who met Friday over the issue. Two additional meetings are scheduled for Monday, Belgian RTBF reported, citing Raymond Douniaux, the mayor of Couvin.
“The officer has already been informed that he will be punished for ethical misconduct,” Douniaux said, adding that there should be “no place for the extreme right, neither within the police nor among the communal staff.”
According to Douniaux, the policeman “assured [the authorities] that he has no connections with the extreme right or other sectarian movements.”
“He [the officer] said… that he has been wearing the badge since January 1, 2016 and that no one had ever made the slightest remark [about the badge]… even if the policeman says he has no sympathy with the extreme right, we will investigate…”
Local police head Virginie Wuilmart told Belgian media that “wearing unauthorized badges is forbidden by the code of ethics.”
“The badge can be ambiguous as it may have different possible meanings, and the police officer may be punished,” she added.
News about ‘Kevin the Crusader’ divided people on social media, with the majority taking the side of ‘the Templar.’
“I’m not Catholic… but I totally support this policeman today, I’m a crusader, I’m a Templar!” wrote one user, while another added that authorities and media “dragged the officer into the mud by accusing him of extremism and publishing his pictures.”
Some people noticed that the town of Couvin has a cross on its coat of arms. “Then the mayor of Couvin is a right extremist?” one asked.
Others suggested that the police officer may be a “noble” descendent of the Catholic military order.
“It is quite possible that this policeman is a descendant of the Knights Templar and wears this badge because he is a part of the nobility.”
There were also those who supported the decision of the authorities, saying that a policeman “does not have to wear any [other] badges on his uniform,” except the police one.
“A police uniform… should only display neutrality, regardless of the opinion of the person [who wears it],” added one person.
The Knights Templar, a religious military order at the time of the Crusades, was originally founded in the 12th century to protect Christians. After the order gained enormous power, it was accused of blasphemy, and members were brutally persecuted.
