The likelihood of the Judgment franchise ever making its way to PC seemed bleak before this week. According to a report published last year by Japan’s Nikkan Taishu (via Kotaku), the series was unlikely to continue due to a dispute between Sega and the talent agency representing Takuya Kimura, the actor who lent his likeness and voice to its protagonist. Kimura’s agency was reportedly against a PC release, fearing it would hurt its business model. At one point, the two sides were so far apart it seemed unlikely Sega would make another Judgment game.
But that was before and now you can buy Judgment and Lost Judgment on Steam either separately or as part of a bundle that includes the sequel’s Kaito Files expansion.

Valve has removed Roman gladiator sim Domina from Steam after the developer used a recent patch notes post as an opportunity to rant against transgender people and the idea of changing your public gender identity.
Dolphin Barn Interactive’s v 1.3.25 patch notes for the game, published on Wednesday, asks for “respect” as the game changes from its “deadname” of “Domina” to the rebranded “Dominus,” which has supposedly undergone a “sex change.” The thinly veiled post gets more direct as it goes on to demean a well-known trans streamer and asks players to “stop destroying the innocence of children by lying to them about basic biology.”
The Steam store page for Domina says the game is no longer available “at the request of the publisher.” But in a post on a newly created Gab account, Dolphin Barn Interactive’s Nicholas Gorissen said that is “incorrect” and that “Steam cancelled us” over the developer’s views on trans people.
]]>If Valve slaps a Verified label on a game, the Steam Deck should be able to handle it with few, if any, issues. Should Valve determine that a title is Playable, it will work, but there might be a few caveats or niggling issues. On the other hand, Valve has listed nearly 2,000 games as Unsupported, according to SteamDB, meaning they probably (or definitely) won't work on Steam Deck.
Those numbers suggest Valve has tested at least 7,000 Steam games on the system. There's a long way to go to check all of them, though, since there are well north of 50,000 titles on the platform. It's worth noting that many of the games currently labeled as Unknown work just fine on Steam Deck, even without a Verified or Playable sticker.
Oh hey, another big milestone – we just passed 5,000 tested Verified and Playable titles on Steam Deck! Plenty more to go (so many games on Steam), but just wanted to take a moment to celebrate!

Valve uses four criteria to check Steam Deck compatibility. It assesses whether a game has controller support (and an onscreen keyboard when needed) or any compatibility warnings. It also looks for support for the screen's native 1,280 by 800 resolution and if the game has any issues with the Proton compatibility layer Valve employs to run Windows games.
There's now a vast library of games that will work on Steam Deck, more than most people can possibly play in a lifetime — you might have a shot at getting through them if you can tear yourself away from Vampire Survivors for long enough. This should come as more good news for those waiting on a Steam Deck delivery after Valve ramped up production in the last few months. If you reserve one now, you should still be able to get a Steam Deck by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Valve has revealed the top 10 most-played on Steam Deck for August. The list includes Elden Ring, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, MultiVersus and, yes, Vampire Survivors.

Industry informant Evan Blass aka @evleaks shared images of the device on Twitter, detailing that the gaming handheld would have a focus on Google Play games, which could suggest Android compatibility. Additionally, the device is expected to stream “games from cloud services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now,” according to Tom’s Hardware.
Logitech, having never had a product leaked before, apparently panicked at the sudden attention and DMCA'ed that gaming handheld. https://t.co/2ddCmFvvOY
— Evan Blass (@evleaks) August 30, 2022
However, Logitech sent Blass a copyright strike, and the images were ultimately removed from Twitter, but not before they were screen-capped and saved by other publications and enthusiasts.
Logitech announced earlier this month, its plans to collaborate with Tencent Games on a “cloud gaming handheld,” which it plans to launch later this year.
From the leak, we see a white device with dark joysticks, edges, and triggers. The handheld includes an upper joystick and D-pad to the left, and Y, X, B, A buttons and a middle joystick to the right. Currently, other details, such as the dimensions of the device and the size of the display remain unknown; however, some of those details might also leak over time.
Despite Blass’ connecting the handheld to Google Play games, there is also no confirmation as to whether it will run Android as an operating system.
Tom’s Hardware noted that Android smartphones have a solid lock on gaming, as do Windows-run devices such as the Steam Deck or actual video game handle systems like the Nintendo Switch. This makes it difficult to see where a potentially Android-run Logitech gaming handheld that is not a phone might fit into the gaming space.
Whenever Logitech’s handheld releases, it can be certain to have competition from Valve, which recently confirmed in a free booklet that it has future Steam Deck models and SteamOS versions in the works.

The Epic Games Store wasn’t all that refund-friendly on launch. You could only ask for two refunds in an entire year (albeit after unlimited hours of play), and you had to submit details like your IP address in a support ticket to have a hope of getting your money back. It should be easier from now on, at least. According to Epic’s Sergey Galyonkin, the company has updated its refund policy to allow unlimited refunds as long as they’re within 14 days of purchase and with less than two hours of play time. You still have to submit a support request for now (there’s a “self-service” option coming), but you no longer have to provide a bevy of information so long as the refund meets the criteria.
If this sounds familiar, it should — the time window is the same as Steam’s refund policy. Galyonkin added later that he preferred the initial approach, since “most people” don’t refund more than two games per year but that some games’ problems weren’t apparent before the two-hour mark. The company switched because it was “too hard to communicate” that approach, he argued. Of course, this approach also left you out of luck if you did need a third refund, and likely wasn’t going to please regulators who’ve wanted consistent refund options.
The change in policy comes shortly after complaints about the quality of Epic’s support (most of it before the Games Store), although it’s not believed to be in response to those concerns. The Better Business Bureau had given Epic a symbolic “F” for allegedly ignoring most BBB complaints in 2018, including refund and exchange issues. The developer referred those disputes to its player support team, but there have been questions about the BBB’s objectivity. It only gives accreditation to companies that pay its annual fees, and Epic isn’t one of them. It’s difficult to say for sure whether or not Epic has been as negligent as claimed, and its new refund policy might indirectly address some of those worrie.
We also changed our refund policy. Unlimited refunds within 14 days of purchase and under 2 hours played. The team is working on the self-service solution, but for now, you’ll have to go through player support.

PC gamers will be eager for Steam’s Black Friday deals to drop, hoping to bag a bargain on a game or two. The digital gaming platform is notoriously tight-lipped about sales. However, the plaform holds sales at various times throughout the year.
When do Steam deals go live?
Given Steam are hush hush about their sales, a date or time for their Black Friday sale has yet to be released.
However, the Steam Black Friday sale is expected to take place on the day itself, Friday, November 23 according to one website.
Countdown website whenisthenextsteamsale.com is currently counting down until Friday for the Steam sale.

The website gathers data from previous years to predict upcoming sales.
The site says: “These predictions are a combination of the following factors: dates and months in which sales started, which day of the week a sale usually starts, how long a sale usually lasts and what dates/events a sale generally hits.
“Furthermore the dates are updated every now and then when there is more information in recent news.
“As you can see there are multiple sources to find out when a sale will most likely start.”

The site accurately predicted last year’s Black Friday sale.
Valve Corporation who developed Steam, don’t always dub their November sales ‘Black Friday’, last year calling it their Autumn Sale.
There have been some rumours that dates for an autumn sale have been leaked, with a Twitter account circulating screen grabs of details, and a source reportedly sharing the dates.
According to both of these sources, the autumn sale will begin on November 21 and end on November 27.
They also have dates for the winter sale, which apparently will begin on December 20 and end on January 3.
Details of which games will be included in the sales are yet to be released.
Both may be the perfect opportunity to grab presents or a treat for yourself when the sales are on.
Black Friday officially takes place this week, on Friday, November 23.
Valve’s Steam service goes down every Tuesday for standard maintenance. The PC gaming platform usually comes back online after a short time.Read More

This weekend will be the first to feature World War 3 gameplay live on official public Steam servers.
It’s a big step for the development team at Farm 51, although it wasn’t without its hiccups.
Technical difficulties hampered the release for a few hours on Friday, leaving some player unable to access the full game.
This was linked to server issues and an endless loading screen bug that left players on the sidelines.
“We know that you experience problems connecting to our servers,” the development team wrote at the time.
“Over the next few minutes, we will upload an update, which should fix the problem. All you have to do is download it and re-enter the game.”
However, since then, World War 3 is now available to download and play on Steam Early Access.
The reviews are currently mixed on Steam right now, although a lot of negative ones appear to be connected to the early loading screen issue.
For those that don’t know, World War 3 is a multiplayer military FPS set in modern times.
Farm 51 says World War 3 has been produced “in cooperation with military R&D centres and consultants and shows the consequences of every battle in the context of a global war campaign on a strategic war map.”
Celebrating the release, Farm 51 thanked fans for their contribution, writing online: “We would like to once more thank all of our fans for their support during development! Thanks to you, World War 3 is now available in Early Access on STEAM!
“Our journey has just begun, and we hope that our community will help us improve with their crucial feedback.
“We strongly believe that your input is invaluable to make World War 3 the game you always wanted to play!
“Strong, tactical team play, national armed forces, real locations and a versatile customization system all contribute to the authenticity of the modern combat experience enhanced by other essential elements such as a robust ballistic system, advanced armours and real-life weapons.”
World War 3 is out now on Steam early access and is not currently available on PS4 or Xbox One.

Scythe is a heavy German-style board game that combines worker placement, area control, resource management, a little combat, and a point salad scoring with a setup so ornate that Alice Waters wanted to put it on her menu (read our original review of the game to see for yourself.) Scythe has been among the top-rated games on BoardGameGeek since its 2016 release thanks to an extremely well-balanced design, very little randomness, and the use of many different mechanics in a single game. But it comes with a steep learning curve—both for rules and strategy—which makes the game ideal for a digital adaptation.
Asmodee Digital, which has established itself as the premier developer for high-end ports of board games, has just released its version of Scythe: Digital Edition to Steam (for both Mac and Windows), and it is unsurprisingly superb. Scythe can easily take two-plus hours on tableto, but it’s now accessible to more players through an excellent tutorial and a clever UI that keeps the screen clear while ensuring that key information is available to players.
That’s important because Scythe requires you to track a tremendous number of things: you’re producing and spending four different resources, collecting three forms of currency (gold, power, and popularity), and trying to achieve six out of about a dozen possible objectives (such as getting to eight workers, building all four buildings, or reaching 16 power within a turn). The digital Scythe handles all of this accounting for you, keeping track of what you can do, what you still have left to do, and oh by the way did you forget you were entitled to this? There’s nothing intuitive at all about the rules of Scythe, and it’s the kind of game that will likely keep even experienced players peeking at the rule book. The app handles all of that quite smoothly, offering mouse-over prompts so you know what each option does and a series of questions and confirmation dialogs for each set of actions you can take.
