If you thought this week’s Bachelor breakup was tough to watch… this week’s SNL cold open might be even tougher. (Especially if you’re not a fan of President Trump.) Saturday’s opening sketch spoofed the infamous breakup seen in The Bachelor‘s season finale, but imagined special counsel Robert Mueller — played by Kate McKinnon — as the Bachelor, breaking the news to “Becca” (Cecily Strong) that he’s not sure he can prove collusion in the Donald Trump case: “I think I need to explore the possibility that I might have a stronger case with some other stuff… I can’t commit to collusion right now.”

Nature documentaries have brought so much joy in the world, like David Attenborough’s god-tier voiceovers and Benedict Cumberbatch’s inability to say “penguin.” Today, Niantic’s throwing its safari hat in the ring with a Pokémon Go trailer narrated by the inimitable Stephen Fry.
The short cinematic shows off some of the new Pokémon that have joined the mobile augmented reality game’s roster, all from the Hoenn region and hailing from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. New additions to Pokémon Go include the water-type Wailord and electric-types Plusle and Minun.
Pokémon Go debuted in summer 2016 and became an instant hit. As of June 2017, it’s earned more than $ 1.2 billion. Though it’s no longer the viral sensation it was at launch, Niantic has been rolling out content updates for its devoted fan base. It’s gradually added more Legendary creatures, dynamic weather, and updates to features like the gym system. It also hosts in-game events where players have a higher chance to find certain types of creatures.
And of course, it’s added more Pokémon to capture — though unfortunately, when you see them out in the wild, Stephen Fry won’t be there to narrate the occasion.

Saturday Night Live newbie Chris Redd got his biggest showcase yet this weekend, portraying Will Smith in an alternate version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The pre-taped sketch was an extension of the ’90s sitcom’s opening title sequence — only this time around, those “couple of guys who were up to no good” were part of a very real street gang whose leader was played by Method Man.
The gang then followed Will to Bel-Air, trashing Aunt Viv’s mansion and forcing him to hide out at a motel. It was there he met Jessica Chastain’s character, who knocked on the door, introduced herself as an FBI agent and told him his chances of survival were slim. The bit culminated in a shootout featuring a gangsta Uncle Phil (played by Kenan Thompson), and a bleak future for the West Philadelphia native.

Saturday Night Live has a last-minute holiday gift for you: a cut sketch from this month’s James Franco-hosted episode that, frankly, makes the sketches that actually made it to air look like a big old lump of coal.
The just-posted sketch — which you can watch above — is a savage parody of the Hallmark Channel’s holiday movie machine, which relentlessly cranks out identical tales of yuletide romance each year. Even if you’ve never seen a Hallmark movie, you’ll giggle at this fake promo for holiday-themed movies like Yes, Santa, starring “Canadian-handsome Chris Bearstick” (Franco) and “Jessica Normal” (Kate McKinnon), whose character ditches her workaholic fiancé for a hot young Santa Claus: “He works too much… so it’s OK if I cheat on him.”
More fake movies feature Kenan Thompson playing a single mom’s “black co-worker with no backstory” (his catchphrase: “Now what in the world?!…”), Melissa Villaseñor as a “once-famous, now very Christian actress”… and many, many more, “all filmed during one month in Ottawa.” As the cheery promo narrator admits, “we are just blasting your ass with these!”
The million-dollar question is: Why couldn’t SNL find room to actually air this slice of genius — especially in an episode that our recapper called “absymal”? (Was it judged to be too mean to Hallmark and its actors? And if so, when did SNL get so toothless?) Well, in any case, we’re just happy we got to see it at all.
Press PLAY above to watch the cut SNL sketch, then hit the comments to tell us how many of these fake movies you’d actually watch. (C’mon, you can admit it; you’re among friends here.)

The Demagorgon is a truly terrifying monster that the kids from Stranger Things had to defeat, but what if they faced off against your run-of-the-mill slasher villain? It wouldn’t be pretty — we’re talking violence, strong language, adult content— all things that may be a bit too mature for the 11-something kids who saved the day and Will Byers.
While we may not get a guy with a chainsaw chasing the kids around Hawkins, this spoof of the Stranger Things trailer imagines what it would be like if the small Indiana town was terrorized by Jason from Friday the 13th or Pennywise the Clown from It. Unsurprisingly, it matches up perfectly.
While Stranger Things may be on the more sci-fi side of the horror genre, it’s not afraid to make homages to the gory slasher films that inspired it. Hence the steady release of ’80s-inspired posters to market the upcoming second season of the Netflix hit.
This YouTube trailer spoof byJosh Nitsche, titled Slasher Things, puts that into practice by intercutting the Stranger Things trailer with scenes from the Hellraiser movies, the Friday the 13th movies, the Halloween series, A Nightmare on Elm Street films, Saw, and the It miniseries. So that includes a Rogues Gallery of Pinhead, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Pennywise the Clown, Chucky, and Jigsaw. It begins with the gang playing an arcade game where they battle Jason from Friday the 13th and promptly lose, with an ominous coin screen stating “You and all your friends are dead.”
Instead of the new, nameless monster from the Upside Down that Will Byers keeps seeing, it’s various villains from the above slasher movies, as well as various scenes of the teen heroes of these films before they get slaughtered. It works — if you think of the small town of Hawkins as having an endless supply of high schoolers. The trailer even keeps Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” as the background music, which also fits marvelously well.
It’s retro overload, but it’s a lot of fun. That’s the power of Stranger Things, that it can fit so well with any movie within the sci-fi horror genre, because of how heavily inspired it is by those exact films. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve end up in a slasher-lite subplot at some point in the second season. It would fit co-creator Ross Duffer‘s hints that the second season will be darker and a “lot more horror-oriented” than the first season. For now, though, the kids are better off finding Eleven and fighting the alternate dimension monster that’s about to invade their lives.
The second season of Stranger Things debuts on Netflix on October 27.

Meghan, 35, is being played by Kathryn Drysdale when the outrageous Channel 4 show The Windsors returns screens next month.
Photographs of the Meghan character have been released by Channel 4, and reveal an interesting take on the Suits actress’ relaxed style.
Posing in skin tight denim shorts and a denim shirt, ‘Meghan’ lounges on the side of a chair into the arms of the ‘Prince Harry’ character.
She pairs the relaxed outfit with some very sexy buckle strap stiletto heels and a top emblazoned with the words ‘South California’.
The Windsors has gained a reputation for outrageous storylines, with caricatures of Prince Charles, played by Harry Enfield, and Camilla, played by Haydn Gwynn.
The salacious plot twists show no signs of slowing down for the upcoming series.
One scene sees Miss Markle introduced to the Royal Family by Prince Harry, but embarrassingly she mistakes the Duchess of Cornwall for the Queen, and says: “You don’t look anything like 90.”
In an interview ahead of the show airing, Kathryn Drysdale revealed how she thinks Meghan has changed since dating Prince Harry, after studying her extensively to prepare for the role.
She said: “The real life Meghan Markle is from L.A. and she’s toned down the whole Californian accent, I think – especially now she’s dating Prince Harry, and her clothes are kind of muted down, and her accent is soft.”
Kathryn also revealed she found Meghan’s Instagram account “very interesting”, but did say her version of Meghan is “slightly less tame than the real life Meghan Markle.”
It seems the Meghan Markle viewers will watch on The Windsors loves fame and is not shy about boasting of her success.
Kathryn revealed: “She’s most proud of having been in the hit TV show Suits.
“At any opportunity, she will tell someone that she was in the hit TV show Suits.”
The real life Meghan recently gave a steamy insight into her favourite Suits scene – and fans were shocked to discover her name the sex scene between her character Rachel and onscreen love interest Mike as her favourite to film.
In a dramatic, but unprofessional moment, the pair consummated their love in the office, against what appeared to be shelves containing files of legal documents and evidence.
Prince Harry’s girlfriend claims she is proud of the scene, bound to get viewers a little hot under the collar.

Now, keep in mind: The following trailers are just the very first glimpse we get of a series and are often not wholly indicative of quality. As such, don’t take the following analysis to mean the series below will necessarily be good or bad. Previews can be deceiving — and we’ve all been fooled before.

GHOSTED (Sunday at 8:30/7:30c) [WATCH TRAILER HERE]
AUSIELLO | My gut told me Adam Scott and Craig Robinson would ooze chemistry and this trailer that my gut was correct.
ROOTS | My X-Files-loving heart weirdly got all defensive — “Stop making fun of Mulder’s quest!” — but yeah, it looks funny.
SWIFT |Maybe I’m being too literal, but I counted zero ghosts in that entire trailer. (Also, I’m kind of secretly hoping this show tanks, no matter how good it is, so we can get more of Adam Scott on The Good Place.)
SCHWARTZ | If it were possible, I’d have already set my DVR. It’s going to take awhile, though, to get used to seeing Adam Scott without a beard again, post-Big Little Lies.
THE GIFTED (Monday at 9/8c) [WATCH TRAILER HERE]
MITOVICH | I have some concerns about casting (as well as what the “Smippys” are in vending machine), but I’m probably in. Bonus points for getting the X-Men reference out of the way!
ROOTS | Wait, I thought they already revived Heroes?
SWIFT | If we’re comparing it to other Marvel shows — and, hey, why not? — I’d say this looks infinitely better than ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but not nearly as creative as FX’s Legion. Consider me cautiously optimistic.
NEMETZ | I’m intrigued. Lots of whiz-bang special effects in this new drama about a ragtag band of mutant kids, and digging into the kids’ true feelings of alienation could set it apart from TV’s current comic-book glut.
LA TO VEGAS (Midseason) [WATCH TRAILER HERE]
MITOVICH | Covering as it does the same flight route with new passengers every episode, I’m gonna say it: This could be the new Love Boat. And that’s a good thing.
ROOTS | Ed Weeks has really been typecast as “Character who has random sex with lead female in series pilot,” eh, Mindy Project fans?
SWIFT | That is the most spacious airplane bathroom I have ever seen — and that’s all I have to say about that.
GELMAN | It’s fun to see Dylan McDermott playing against type, but I will never find jokes about an airplane pilot drinking before a flight funny.
THE ORVILLE (Thursday at 9/8c) [WATCH TRAILER HERE]
MITOVICH | A Star Trek spoof? With Adrianne Palicki?? Oh Fox, I may forgive you for axing Pitch just yet. (Not really.)
SWIFT | I was never a Trekkie, but this show looks more my speed. In fact, I dare say Seth MacFarlane might have finally redeemed himself after cursing the world with Dads.
NEMETZ | Sci-fi comedies are totally my jam, but the laughs on this one seem to be lost in space. Plus, Seth MacFarlane as an actor is comedy antimatter.
GELMAN | I now have a strong desire to rewatch Galaxy Quest.
THE RESIDENT (Midseason) [WATCH TRAILER HERE]
AUSIELLO | I’m going to need confirmation from Fox in writing that Emily VanCamp’s role will be beefed up considerably as the series progresses.
MITOVICH | A primo case of “Can stars that we like elevate otherwise humdrum medical drama material?”
GELMAN | I’m already a medical show junkie. You add in Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp, and I’m definitely watching.
SCHWARTZ | Finally, a decent looking medical drama that won’t require me to keep tabs on four different shows about Chicago! (The trailer itself needs about 85 percent more Emily VanCamp, though.)

The film star ruthlessly mocked Ivanka Trump in fake perfume advert for a fragrance cuttlingly titled, Complicit.
The 32-year-old is seen strutting through a fancy soiree in a breathtaking gown before the voiceover introduces the president’s “favourite” child.
“Every man knows her name, every woman knows her face. When she walks into a room, all eyes are on her.
“She’s Ivanka. And, a woman like her deserves a fragrance all of her own, a scent made just for her, because she’s beautiful, she’s powerful, she’s complicit,” the audience are hilariously told.
It continues: “She doesn’t crave the spotlight but we see her. Oh, how we see her,” before a camera cuts to her looking in the mirror only to see her father – played by actor Alec – looking back.
The spoof commercial then goes on to address her feminist credentials while noting Trump’s past controversies.
“A feminist. An advocate. A champion for women. Like… how? She’s loyal. Devoted. Probably should have bounced after that whole Access Hollywood bus thing.”
Referencing the leaked tape from 2005, the skit reminded viewers of the time he boasted about grabbing women “by the pussy”.
The ad then ended with the words: “The fragrance for the woman who could stop all this, but won’t.”
Trump is also father to Donald Trump Jr., 39, Eric, 33, Tiffany, 23, and 10-year-old Barron with First Lady Melania.
We sense a disturbance in the Force and loyal fans will no doubt be hoping the upcoming film also sucks as it takes aim at their beloved characters.
The new movie has already taken its first pot shot by announcing the title will be Star Worlds Episode XXXIVE=MC2: The Force Awakens the Last Jedi Who Went Rogue.
As well as mocking the grandiose stylings of Star Wars film titles, it has also taken a timely swing at all the speculation that surrounds efforts to create a sentence out of the most recent franchise titles.
The announcement of the new spoof was made by The Hollywood Reporter which dubbed the project: “The farce Awakens.”
It will be written and directed by the established team of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer who are bravely treading in the hallowed satirical footsteps of Mel Brooks who lampooned the Star Wars films with Spaceballs, back in 1987.
Hopes might be higher if they had managed to maintain the originality and box office success of their very first effort, Scary Movie, in 2000. Sadly, the farce has been snoozing since then.
Even Judi Dench has been getting in on the act recently, though, with a hilarious new video interrogating Daisy Ridley about The Last Jedi.
Friedberg and Seltzer’s original horror movie parody remains their most successful release to date, although the comedy duo were not involved in any of the sequels.
Instead, they went on to make Disaster Movie, the Twilight-bashing Vampires Suck and Epic Movie which, unsurprisingly, attempted to mock big-budget historical epics.
The new Star Wars spoof will be their first to directly target one specific franchise and will be financed by Covert Media.
Watch Mel Brooks show how it’s done next:
CEO Paul Hanson said: “Jason and Aaron are a powerhouse duo who have proven time and time again that they are fully tapped into what audiences love.
“Their fearless take on pop culture has us beyond thrilled to tackle the world’s most popular franchise with the two of them leading us into a galaxy far, far away.”
Whether anyone wants to follow them there remains to be seen.
