This season of BBC hit police drama Line of Duty has had fans on the edge of their seats all the way through, and has prompted furious speculation over exactly who the OCG’s corrupt leader – H – is.

The recent favourite has been DCI Ted Hastings (played by Adrian Dunbar), but with theories abound, anything can happen.

And now it seems some people will learn the truth much sooner than others after Sainsbury’s decided to put Line of Duty season five on DVD on their shelves early, according to reports from The Mirror.

The supermarket chain also released the complete series one to five collection the same day, as witnessed by a number of pictures posted to social media of Sainsbury’s stores.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative at Sainsbury’s for comment.

Flocking to Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts on the reports.

One person wrote: “Will be devastated if anyone leaks the events from tomorrow’s final episode before it airs! #LineOfDuty #sainsburys #SPOILERS #SpoilerAlert #WhoIsH.”

“HUGE #LineOfDuty leak, stay off social media till tomorrow folks!” another warned.

A third exclaimed: “DON’T SPOIL LINE OF DUTY!! We have waited so long for tomorrow’s episode #LineOfDuty.”

While a fourth said: “@sainsburys best not have been selling #lineofduty early boycott if that happens. Not on fellas.”

“A certain shop have already released series 5 on DVD, despite the finale being tomorrow!! @jed_mercurio @Line_of_duty @Vicky_McClure @martin_compston #LineOfDuty,” a fifth noted.

Viewers continued to share their frustration over the development, with one tweeting: “Spoiler Alert… #Sainsbury’s has only gone and sold series five of #lineofduty today …

“Now everyone is on Facebook and let the cat out of the bag… @#@ fuming ain’t the word….”

Another said: “Very disappointed about #lineofduty spoilers – apparently some Sainsbury’s accidentally selling the S5 DVD early. Avoiding the Facebook group and hashtag now.”

While a third shocked fan scolded: “Naughty @sainsburys having #LineOfDuty series five DVD on sale before the final tomorrow night.”

Some didn’t have such a strong reaction, with fans even admitted they wanted to find and buy the early release of the drama series.

“Got to admit, I’m rather jealous of anyone who managed to nab themselves this! @sainsburys @BBCOne @Line_of_duty @ShrineOfDuty #LineOfDuty,” one person commented.

“Aaaagh I realised too late! Hope it’s still there tomorrow! #LineofDuty,” another begged. 

Line of Duty concludes tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.

Did Chris Evans accidentally spoil Avengers 4 when he recently tweeted about how he was saying goodbye to the character of Captain America? No! Well, at least that’s what he wants us to think. Evans recently appeared at a comic convention in Chicago to clarify his comment and reassure fans that he did not, in fact, ruin anything about the fate of the Star Spangled man with a plan. But maybe, just maybe, Marvel security got to him and are now orchestrating an elaborate cover-up campaign to throw fans off the scent.

Eh, probably not, though. Chances are pretty good that Evans is simply just telling the truth. Keep reading to learn about how he didn’t actually spoil Avengers 4.

The Russos just wrapped production on Avengers 4, but Evans finished his on-set work a few days ago, when he tweeted the following:

Frenzied speculation began instantly in fan circles: does this mean that Captain America dies in Avengers 4? Is that why Evans is saying goodbye to the character? Did one of the stars of a franchise really just spoil a huge moment in what is sure to be one of the biggest blockbuster movies in years?

At Chicago’s ACE Comic Con this weekend (via The Hollywood Reporter), Evans provided more context for his tweet:

“I should clarify that, I know I did tweet something that made a lot of people think that it was in some way a spoiler, and I should clarify that, regardless of how Avengers 4 ends, I would’ve tweeted the exact same thing. That last day of filming really was a very emotional day. It was the culmination of almost 10 years of filming and 22 movies, this unbelievable tapestry and you feel a lot more emotions than I think even I thought I’d feel, and I felt it was appropriate to share the gratitude. I know it had a ripple effect, but I am neither confirming or denying anything.”

One could argue that Evans has been in the Marvel game for long enough know that he would never purposefully spoil anything, while another could point to Mark Ruffalo spoiling Avengers: Infinity War as a counterpoint to that argument. But as a counter to that argument, I’d say that it was clear that Ruffalo was just joking around at the time. I should probably just stop arguing with myself – this is exhausting.

The actor went on to say that the year-long wait between movies will be well worth it for audiences:

“It’s never been done before and I don’t know if it will ever be done again and they really stick a flag in the ground on this one and pull out all the stops and you won’t be disappointed.”

Meanwhile, Evans is gearing up to start shooting Rian Johnson’s upcoming murder mystery Knives Out, a film that will see him team up with Daniel Craig, Lakeith Stanfield, and Michael Shannon.

Westworld executive producers and co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy continued beating the hype drum for the TV series’ second season with a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) thread on Monday. Ahead of the season’s April 22 premiere on HBO, however, Nolan isn’t just dropping hints of what to expect. He’s suggesting that HBO is fully prepared to spoil the season before a minute of Westworld airs.

Nolan closed the AMA by thanking fans for their questions—and pointing out his ongoing interest in their theories. He also pointed out that fans’ theories, once reported by outside parties and news outlets, often function more like full-on content spoilers for what’s to come on the show. This sparked internal HBO discussions, Nolan noted, which led him to post what he’s calling a “potentially highly controversial” question:

If you guys agree, we’re going to post a video that lays out the plot (and twists and turns) of season 2. Everything. The whole sordid thing. Up front. That way, the members of the community here who want the season spoiled for them can watch ahead and then protect the rest of the community and help to distinguish between what’s ‘theory’ and what’s spoiler.

How will HBO determine whether this video should be posted? By waiting for the total upvote count attached to Nolan’s question to exceed 1,000 points. As of press time, the question has a 173-point score (which adds up its collective upvotes and downvotes) and rising.

J.A. Happ threw 96 pitches in Toronto’s opening day loss to the New York Yankees on Thursday afternoon.

He was happy with all but one of them.

Happ missed on a fastball to Giancarlo Stanton in the first inning and the 2017 NL MVP launched it over the right-centre field fence for a two-run homer, putting the Yankees up early en route to a 6-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Stanton, the Yankees’ prized off-season acquisition, homered twice in the game and drove in four runs in his New York debut.

“I tried to throw a two-seamer and I just pulled it a little bit. That’s a pitch I’d like to have back,” said Happ, who threw 4 2/3 innings and allowed three runs [two earned], four hits and one walk while striking out five in his first career opening day start.

“I think the reality is sometimes one mistake is one too many to win a ballgame.”

Jays’ bats silent

Catcher Russell Martin agreed with the veteran left-hander’s assessment.

“Really if there was one pitch we could have back it would be the one to Stanton. Kind of a two-seamer away that pulled and caught the middle of the plate and he put a good swing on it,” Martin said. “But overall I liked what he did. We just didn’t score enough runs for him.”

Luis Severino had a lot to do with that.

The Yankees starter struck out seven and held Toronto to just one hit and three walks over 5 2/3 innings. Brett Gardner also homered and Gary Sanchez drove in another run for New York (1-0).

Kevin Pillar supplied Toronto’s (0-1) offence with a solo homer off reliever Dellin Betances in the eighth inning.

Donaldson hampered by shoulder issue

All-star third baseman Josh Donaldson, who was slowed by a shoulder issue early in spring training, struggled with weak throws across the diamond throughout the game, including one in the sixth inning that pulled first baseman Justin Smoak off the bag. Smoak recovered, stretching his toe to the base to get the out, which was upheld after video review.

Manager John Gibbons said Donaldson’s arm “feels kinda dead, not injured.”

“I’ve been feeling it a little bit all spring, it’s just kinda been ongoing back and forth,” Donaldson elaborated. “But I don’t have any pain or anything like that so that’s always good. It’s just getting the strength back.”

Donaldson said he’ll be cautious with the shoulder and Gibbons suggested he’d DH his star third baseman until he feels better. A quick fix would be ideal for Toronto, which is already without shortstop Troy Tulowitzki for the foreseeable future. The team placed Tulowitzki on the 60-day disabled list with bone spurs in both his heels earlier in the day. He hasn’t played since sustaining an ankle injury last July.

The Blue Jays were outhit 11-2 and struck out 12 times Thursday. The miserable offensive showing matched the weather conditions in Toronto, where rain drizzled outside the domed Rogers Centre all day.

Severino holds offence in check

Donaldson chalked up the team’s struggles to Severino’s dominant performance.

“When you have Severino pitching like he was today it’s going to be difficult,” he said. “We have to disrupt him somehow, get some runners on base. Opening day is unique to the extent where it’s kinda hard to get into your routine. You have a lot of things going on before the game [but] Severino had a very nice game.”

Stanton earned his third RBI in the fifth, smacking a line drive double off Canadian reliever John Axford to cash in Aaron Judge from first base. Sanchez followed with a run-scoring double and Gardner hit a solo homer off Danny Barnes in the seventh for a 5-0 Yankees lead.

Stanton’s second home run, a solo shot, came off Tyler Clippard in the ninth.

“You’ve got to pitch them tough,” Martin said of how to navigate the tough Yankees lineup. “Baseball’s one of those games where if you do make a mistake and there’s a good hitter up there he’s going to make you pay. … The key is still to be aggressive but just out-think them.”

Halladay tribute

Pillar’s eighth-inning homer was just Toronto’s second hit of the game. Curtis Granderson, who began the day with a first-inning fielding error in left, hit a single to centre field for his first hit as a Blue Jay in the fourth inning.

The game began with a touching tribute to Roy Halladay, the former Blue Jays ace who died last November when the small sport plane he was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. His No. 32 was retired by the organization, marked by the unfurling of a banner from the centre-field rafters.

Halladay’s sons, 17-year-old Braden and 13-year-old Ryan, placed the game ball on the mound instead of throwing a ceremonial first pitch.
