Coral bookmakers currently have JJ and Amy at 33/1 to become champions this year, placing them as the third most likely couple to leave first.

Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh, 46, matches those odds with former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, 57, at 100/1 to claim victory.

In terms of eliminations, this puts the Royal Marine at 6/1 to make an early exit, although the former politician looks set to be the first to be voted off by the public.

“Jacqui Smith is the favourite to be sent packing first, at 11/10, and she’ll have to pull out some magic alongside Anton du Beke to remain in the competition long,” spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead said.

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One. Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7:25pm on BBC One.

Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Simon Cowell snubs former BGT winners after massive claim https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-simon-cowell-snubs-former-bgt-winners-after-massive-claim/ https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-simon-cowell-snubs-former-bgt-winners-after-massive-claim/#respond Sat, 07 Sep 2019 21:31:22 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-simon-cowell-snubs-former-bgt-winners-after-massive-claim/

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions brought another collection of contestants to the forefront this evening to battle it out as the best act on the show.

The huge array of acts consisted of singers, dancer, ventriloquists, and comedians.

One of the stranger acts came from Germany – an 11-year-old girl named Alexa Lauenburger and her eight dogs.

Alexa brought an intricate and highly-choreographed routine to the stage with her dogs to the tune of The Greatest Showman.

The act included the dogs working together to perform jumps, and even an eight-dog conga line.

It was so well received by hosts Ant and Dec that it garnered the much-coveted Golden Buzzer, sending Alexa and her puppy pals straight to the final.

However during Simon Cowell’s praise he seemed to snub a previous winner of Britain’s Got Talent.

The media mogul announced: “You at your age – to have that relationship with those gorgeous, gorgeous dogs is absolutely amazing.

“This is the best dog act I have ever ever seen!”

However fans of the show were quick to point out the other major dog act that has graced the stage with their paws: Ashleigh and Pudsey.

The duo won the competition back in 2012, and went down in history as the first dog act to win the competition.

Simon continued by adding: “This is one of the best acts we’ve ever had.”

Fans of the show were ecstatic over the act as well, as one wrote: “Well that makes Pudsey look right s**t!! (god rest his soul) #BGTChampions #Alexa #BGT.”

Another added: “B****y hell that German lass has put Pudsey to shame wow #bgt #BritainFirst #BGTChampions.”

Later in the show Jai McDowall returned to the stage to complete his act once again – but Simon recently told The Sun he had to apologise for slamming the act in 2011.

He told the publication: “I did feel when I saw him again that he’s the definition of a proud man.

“He didn’t sulk — he just came back to prove a point. And he did. I knew I had to apologise to him at that moment.

“It gave me a chance to say something publicly I should have said some time ago.

“But it was also the fact he had the guts to come back and compete, knowing I wasn’t that supportive the first time he was on the show.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continues tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.

Emmys’ Biggest Snubs: 30 Great Actors Who Have Never Won TV’s Top Prize https://briefnews.eu/emmys-biggest-snubs-30-great-actors-who-have-never-won-tvs-top-prize/ https://briefnews.eu/emmys-biggest-snubs-30-great-actors-who-have-never-won-tvs-top-prize/#respond Sat, 29 Jun 2019 04:44:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/emmys-biggest-snubs-30-great-actors-who-have-never-won-tvs-top-prize/

The good news? Since TVLine last took stock of talented actors who have been egregiously overlooked by the Emmys, one of them went on to finally grab gold. [Golf clap]

That overdue kudos went to Amy Poehler, who — along with Tina Fey — was in September 2016 named Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, for the funny ladies’ hosting of Saturday Night Live. (It marked the first time a pair had been nominated in the category.)

The other ignominiously ignored actors from our list, however, remain with hat in hand (the living ones, at least). And as the announcement of nominations for the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards nears, we thought it prudent to revisit our list… add in some of the suggestions you made the last time around… and also sprinkle in a few others who have been conspicuously kept away from accolades.

Some from our list of the Sorrowfully Snubbed (click here for direct access) might get another crack at the little golden lady, when nominations come out on July 16! Check out whose mantels remain Emmy-free, then express your own empathetic outrage.

This year’s Emmy Awards will be held Sunday, Sept. 22.

ITV’s Lorraine snubs ex-colleague Esther McVey in awkward GMB chat ‘If looks could kill!’ https://briefnews.eu/itvs-lorraine-snubs-ex-colleague-esther-mcvey-in-awkward-gmb-chat-if-looks-could-kill/ https://briefnews.eu/itvs-lorraine-snubs-ex-colleague-esther-mcvey-in-awkward-gmb-chat-if-looks-could-kill/#respond Mon, 10 Jun 2019 15:20:29 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/itvs-lorraine-snubs-ex-colleague-esther-mcvey-in-awkward-gmb-chat-if-looks-could-kill/

Good Morning Britain returned to ITV this morning with the first instalment of the week and towards the end of the show, they crossed over to ITV’s Lorraine to find out what was coming up.

But during the brief exchange with the chat show host, Lorraine Kelly snubbed a former colleague.

“Lorraine Kelly is here,” Piers Morgan began and Susanna Reid interrupted and asked: “Do you remember Esther McVey from the GMTV days?”

The camera then changed to a split screen of the guest and Lorraine and she bluntly replied: “Yes.”

She then awkwardly laughed and continued by changing the subject and said: “Yes I do. Ok, coming up after half past…”

After Lorraine had introduced the guests on her show, the camera returned to Piers in the GMB studio and he probed: “So you got on with Esther then Lorraine?”

“I don’t remember, I don’t remember, I don’t remember at all. It was a long time ago,” she replied dismissively.

Picking up on the tension, Piers said: “Ooh if looks could kill!”

Those watching the snub took to Twitter to comment and one said: “How rude was @lorraine to Esther McVey this morning on @GMB? Not all sweetness and light after all.”

“Lorraine casting a dark shadow over Esther McVey,” another wrote.

Whilst a third joked: “Footage of Lorraine Kelly The Actress briefly resting to answer whether she liked Esther McVey during their GMTV years. ‘I don’t remember love. I don’t remember at all.’”

Someone else suggested: “When Lorraine Kelly said she doesn’t remember whether she got on well with Esther McVey; is she trying to sugar coat a serious falling out between the two of them???”

“So Lorraine Kelly doesn’t like Esther McVey. Join the queue, it’s a very long one!” another viewer remarked.

It comes after the pair both used to work on the same television show back in the nineties.

Meanwhile, Carol Vorderman had to apologise to some guests after a personal admission last month.

With Lorraine taking a break from hosting duties for half term, the former Countdown presenter stepped in.

Viewers tuned in to see her joined by two former Love Island stars and it was during their conversation when Carol revealed she had never watched the show.

The reality dating show which is now in it’s fifth series, has seen Jess Shears and Dom Lever, stars of the 2017 series getting married and now expecting a baby together.

Discussing their time on the show, Carol found it difficult to get her head around the intimacy which is played out on television screens.

Lorraine airs weekday mornings at 8:30am on ITV.

A feud is born as Gaga’s remake snubs Streisand https://briefnews.eu/a-feud-is-born-as-gagas-remake-snubs-streisand/ https://briefnews.eu/a-feud-is-born-as-gagas-remake-snubs-streisand/#respond Sun, 08 Jul 2018 05:34:47 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/a-feud-is-born-as-gagas-remake-snubs-streisand/

Close friends say Streisand, 76, is upset 32-year-old Gaga and her co-star and producer Bradley Cooper refused to create a cameo role for her, or accept any help behind the camera.

She has hit back by releasing a re-edit of the 1973 blockbuster featuring never-before-seen footage of her playing Evergreen on the guitar and a fresh twist on her final, haunting scene with co-star Kris Kristofferson.

It is already streaming live on Netflix and Streisand also reportedly plans a remastered version of her original soundtrack.

A friend of Streisand said yesterday: “She feels offended no one seemed to even want to acknowledge her, let alone take any advice.

“It’s as if she has been brushed aside by a new generation of artists who aren’t remotely interested in learning from a vastly experienced entertainer who’s achieved just about everything in showbusiness.”

Gaga – who won her first acting award in 2016 for TV series American Horror Story: Hotel – is also fuming.

A source said: “Gaga is angry and a little worried about the impact Barbra’s projects are going to have on hers.”

The Gaga reboot that hits UK cinemas in October is the fourth time A Star Is Born has been made.

The story of love between a rising female star and a fading male performer first hit movie screens in 1937.

There was a musical in 1954 then came the 1973 multi award-winning blockbuster.

Now Gaga aims to recreate that success with her reboot.

Her friend said: “Despite bad blood and ugly rumours, she is one hundred per cent confident her film will be a winner.”

Antoine Griezmann: Atletico Madrid star SNUBS Barcelona in amazing transfer U-turn on TV https://briefnews.eu/antoine-griezmann-atletico-madrid-star-snubs-barcelona-in-amazing-transfer-u-turn-on-tv/ https://briefnews.eu/antoine-griezmann-atletico-madrid-star-snubs-barcelona-in-amazing-transfer-u-turn-on-tv/#respond Thu, 14 Jun 2018 21:29:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/antoine-griezmann-atletico-madrid-star-snubs-barcelona-in-amazing-transfer-u-turn-on-tv/

Atletico Madrid striker Griezmann is currently being chased by the Nou Camp giants.

want to trigger his £87.5m release clause, which will come into effect on July 1.

Barca have previously denied an approach for the France international but in recent weeks have conceded that they are eyeing him up.

But in a sensational revelation on Movistar+, Griezmann revealed he is going nowhere.

He said simply: “I have decided to stay.”

Griezmann released a video on his Twitter feed immediately after the revelation, confirming he will remain at the Wanda Metropolitano.

have battled for over a year to keep their star striker.

Last year he infamously said there was a “six in 10 chance” of him joining Manchester United.

That move never materialised – in part because Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s knee injury meant Jose Mourinho was forced to change his transfer plans and sign a target man in Romelu Lukaku instead.

Griezmann has been dogged by speculation over his future all season and in January to La Liga about Barcelona’s alleged approach.

It led to Barca publicly backing off from the player, although in reality they maintained their interest.

The retention of Griezmann is something of a coup for Atletico, who are seen as the third biggest side in Spain behind rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Manager Diego Simeone is likely to see the Frenchman’s pledge to remain as a chance to go for the La Liga title next term, while also challenging in the Champions League.

Coronation Street spoilers: Aidan Connor snubs family in will in favour of THIS character https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-aidan-connor-snubs-family-in-will-in-favour-of-this-character/ https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-aidan-connor-snubs-family-in-will-in-favour-of-this-character/#respond Fri, 11 May 2018 01:40:48 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-aidan-connor-snubs-family-in-will-in-favour-of-this-character/

Aidan Connor’s (played by Shayne Ward) death has rocked his family and residents in Coronation Street but things will get worse when details from the important legal document are revealed.

The Connor family, including Johnny (Richard Hawley), Kate (Faye Brooks) and Carla (Alison King), will be left heartbroken when they read Aidan’s will in an upcoming episode.

Since his death, Kate and Carla have had to take care of all his business affairs which included running the Underworld knicker factory.

But in a blow to the family it will be revealed that Aidan has left the company to his business partner, Alya Nazir (Siar Khan), rather than his own relatives.

It is believed a huge legal battle will ensure as the Connors plan to get back the business they think they are entitled to.

A TV insider said: “In the fallout from the emotional storyline Aidan’s will shows that he’s left Underworld to Alya.

“It’s a shock as everyone was expecting it to be left to his own family.”

The source went on to tell The Sun: “It’s an unintentional snub to the Connors, as he made the will months earlier when he thought about taking his own life.”

Meanwhile, Coronation Street has been applauded for their handling of the suicide story, with viewers taking to Twitter to praise the ITV show.

One fan shared: “Coronation Street have portrayed this storyline so well, showing that we don’t always know what’s going on in someone’s life beyond what we can see.”

Another posted: “Bravo @itvcorrie watching the aftermath of Aidan’s suicide is heartbreaking but it’s being covered and acted so well.”

A third said: “That #Corrie episode was extraordinarily well done. The juxtaposition of Aidan’s and David’s stories worked very well and great care was taken in ensuring to show a balanced representation of numerous viewpoints and reactions.”

Someone else added: “What a stunning performance by all involved at @itvcorrie all of you have done an amazing job I’m sat here in tears and all I want to do is hug you all and help those who suffer.”

While another tweeted: “Well done @itvcorrie on showing the aftermath of loosing a loved one. It’s the most heartbreaking thing a parent, family member or friend can ever go through.”

Elsewhere, producer Kate Oates congratulated Shayne on his performance, saying: “The challenge for Shayne was that so much of his performance was about subtext and subtlety.

“I think he explored that so beautifully and with such depth – he was fantastic.”

She went on to tell the Metro: “I’d also like to say that when we approached Shayne with the storyline, he was gracious, brilliant and professional.

“He’s been a joy to work with, a brilliant company member and a brilliant actor.”

Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
