Apparently some of The Challenge‘s rookies didn’t get the memo: This game is ugly.

On Wednesday’s episode, Olympian Lolo Jones got into a heated exchange following the daily challenge, while Amber M. grew suspicious of one of her closest allies, Amber B. Why is everyone so shocked when their competition turns shady? (Beats me.) Looks like a few of the newbs are in for a rude awakening. Here are the highlights from Episode 8 of Double Agents.

Now that Lee and Kam both have their skulls, the duo talks about shifting their target to Theresa. But they want to wait until they’re positive it’s a female elimination day before pulling that trigger.

Lolo realizes she’s not getting thrown into elimination because no one wants her to get her pass to the final. She knows she needs to win a challenge in order to get her opportunity, but things aren’t exactly copacetic between her and her partner, Nam. CT feels he’s in the same boat; no one wants to see that monster in elimination or the final.

CHALLENGE ACTIVATED | In “All Brawl,” competitors search a giant mud pit for an iconic Challenge relic. The winners of each heat will then move on to Phase 2.

In Heat 1, Nany finds the relic first, but Lolo quickly activates her beast mode. After Nany throws the goods away, Kam snatches it and runs in for the win. Lolo then blows a gasket, accusing Aneesa of choking her from behind. If Lolo wants everything to be fair, she showed up to the wrooong game.

In the guys’ first heat, Nam finds the relic, but pretends he’s still looking. He waits for the right moment, and when nobody’s paying attention, he sprints to the finish line. Gabby and CT take Heats 3 and 4.

In Phase 2, it’s CT vs. Nam, and Gabby vs. Kam, only this time, players must grip onto the relic and wrestle it away to defeat their opponent. TJ sounds the horn, and the men go ballistic. Nam takes a bunch of elbows to the face as CT crushes him against the side of the pit, and as expected, Nam’s cooked on this one. Kam then wins for the women.

TJ then announces a sudden death third round where CT and Kam, along with their partners, must fight it out for the whole shebang. The first team to win both rounds will become the next Double Agents. CT is immediately irked; he thinks there’s no way in hell Big T will ever beat Kam and… he’s absolutely right. Kam quickly starts tossing T around like a rag doll and seals the deal. Kyle then beats CT, though CT half-asses the face-off, knowing the cards weren’t in his favor. Regardless, Kyle and Kam become the new Double Agents!

The Challenge Josh MartinezDELIBERATION | The two K’s quickly weigh their options. Kam wants to protect Aneesa, but the cheeky Brit wants to drink the blood of his enemies, naturally. At the house meeting, Mechie and Amber M.’s names are thrown around, as are Aneesa and Fessy’s. It comes time to vote, and when the Double Agents get the results, the Compromised Agents are… not revealed to us! For the first time this season, we only see Kyle and Kam’s reactions, but we don’t see the results yet! Dang.

Oh, and Amber M.’s hunches were right on the money: Her ally Amber B. totally voted her in. Savage.

Since Lolo won’t STFU about what happened at the challenge, Aneesa makes a classy move and apologizes for competing in the damn thing. (I digress, but shouldn’t an Olympian sort of expect the competition to get ruthless? Insert all of the eye rolls here.) Anyhoo, the two squash their beef.

THE CRATER | TJ announces that Amber M. and Mechie are the Compromised Agents, so Kyle and Kam throw Nany and Josh into elimination to give one of them a chance to earn his or her skull. It turns out to be a guy’s night, so Josh and Mechie go head-to-head. (Anyone else praying Mechie takes Josh out? Pretty, pretty please, reality TV gods?) In the elimination, contestants must solve a puzzle, which will then tell them which targets are breakable on their massive board. From there, it’s the same elimination Aneesa and Tori did a few weeks back — pull a container of heavy “bombs” over, and toss the weighted bombs at all of the targets to win.

Josh destroys Mechie on the slide puzzle and quickly collects his bombs, but his throwing skills… those need some work! The entire cast, plus TJ, shares a few laughs at his expense, but Josh eventually gets his act together and knocks Mechie out of the competition for good. He then sticks with Nany as his partner, while Amber M. becomes a Rogue Agent.

Well, shantay Josh stays. Please share all of your thoughts and feelings in the Comments below!

Fortnite news: Halloween skins leak, Skull Trooper 2 and Gifting system reveal https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-news-halloween-skins-leak-skull-trooper-2-and-gifting-system-reveal/ https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-news-halloween-skins-leak-skull-trooper-2-and-gifting-system-reveal/#respond Mon, 15 Oct 2018 00:49:38 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fortnite-news-halloween-skins-leak-skull-trooper-2-and-gifting-system-reveal/

Epic Games have been busy over the past few weeks getting their game ready for Halloween.

And newly leaked skins have revealed that plenty more spooky content is on the way.

Fans can expect a range of new outfits to go live this week in the Fortnite shop.

Today saw the launch of Hollowhead, while more have also been found in the most recent Fortnite update.

While other items, such as the Plague Glider, new pickaxes and a selection of new emotes were revealed by data miners, some of which have now debuted.

There are also hopes that some kind of in-game event or big update is being saved for Halloween itself.

Epic Games recently moved their update day from Tuesday to Wednesday. This will mean that an update will be released on Halloween.

It would give the development team the perfect cover to do something with the Floating Island, or just have some fun with the Fortnite map.

Perhaps a new Ghost Town or some other spooky content could go live on October 31, although fans will have to look out for clues.

There are also reports that a new Skull Trooper variant will be added to the game this month.

The new Skull gear went live in the item shop earlier this week and included a purple glow for those who have the original outfit.

Fans aren’t expecting anything too earth-shattering as its hoped that it will be the same skin, with a different colour tinge.

There’s no set release date for when this new content could be released by Epic Games, or how long fans will have to wait for it.

But it seems pretty likely it will pop up before October 31, unless the development team are saving it for the day itself.

Fortnite fans may have also been given their first look at the gifting system in Battle Royale.

The gifting system has been in the pipeline for ages, as Epic continues to tweak the feature before launch.

But a new leak on Twitter suggests the gifting feature is about to be released by Epic Games – perhaps with update 6.03.

Alleged footage of the feature in action has been posted on the Jaren Twitter page.

The clip – which can be seen below – shows Jaren selecting to purchase the item as a gift and then personalising the gift with a message.

It’s unclear if the footage is legitimate, but it looks like you can select recipients from your list of friends.

There also appears to be some kind of time restriction on the amount of gifts you can send.

Fortnite Skull Trooper and Ranger skins the first Halloween surprises from Epic Games? https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-skull-trooper-and-ranger-skins-the-first-halloween-surprises-from-epic-games/ https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-skull-trooper-and-ranger-skins-the-first-halloween-surprises-from-epic-games/#respond Thu, 11 Oct 2018 20:28:16 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fortnite-skull-trooper-and-ranger-skins-the-first-halloween-surprises-from-epic-games/

The Skull Trooper and Ranger skins are currently available to buy from the item shop as part of Epic Games’ plans for Halloween.

They follow on from the new spooky decorations that can be spotted around the season 6 map.

But is there a chance that the Skull Trooper is just the start of something big for Fortnite Battle Royale?

Fans have noticed a few other little details since the return of the season 1 skin, some of it was only available to those who own the original design.

Players who bought the original skin now have the added option of making it sport a Purple Glow variant.

It’s a nice little nod for those who have just lost a massively rare design which was only available to those who have played the game since season 1.

There’s also the chance of some kind of big in-game event being planned for Fortnite on Halloween.

Epic Games has gotten in the swing of launching new updates on Tuesdays, that is until Season 6 began.

This has now been switched to Wednesdays, which helpfully lines up with October 31, Halloween.

This would mean that Epic Games are ideally placed to release a significant new Halloween update on the day itself.

We already know that the Floating Island will play a greater role in season 6, so might something happen on October 31?

Epic Games are known for sharing plenty of clues before they do launch an in-game event, so it’s unlikely that fans will get caught out.

And if nothing does happen on Halloween, fans at least have the bonus of new Halloween skins being released in the coming weeks.

Plenty of new Halloween surprises are being worked on by Epic Games for Fortnite Battle Royale.

This was confirmed today by the new skins that were found by data miners and then leaked online.

There were a total of five new skins revealed that have yet to be added to the game, either through the item shop or the battle pass.

Four of these new skins will fit in with the Halloween celebrations this month, named Jack Gourdan, Hollowhead, Plague and Scourge.

Some of the other new items have been released as part of the new Skull Trooper gear that launched in the item shop.

And the description for it reveals that there will be specific challenges that help Fortnite players unlock extra gear.

It reads: “Skull Squad Gear available now! Complete challenges to earn the Ghost Portal Back Bling”.

The official Fortnite Twitter later confirmed the return of the Skull Trooper after the skin’s comeback leaked earlier on.

Fortnite news: Halloween skins LEAK, Skull Trooper change, Season 6 update https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-news-halloween-skins-leak-skull-trooper-change-season-6-update/ https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-news-halloween-skins-leak-skull-trooper-change-season-6-update/#respond Mon, 08 Oct 2018 03:23:25 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fortnite-news-halloween-skins-leak-skull-trooper-change-season-6-update/

Epic Games look to be gearing up for a big Halloween season, with costumes popping up around the map.

The first Halloween skins have also popped up in the item shop and appear to be the first of many designs being launched in the coming weeks.

A new leak from data miners suggests that Epic Games has plenty of new content ready for the end of October.

The new Fortnite designs were reportedly discovered using a new technique to see what is coming next to the item shop.

Seven skins have been found that have some connection to the spooky season, all of which can be found below:

  • Scourge (Female) – cid_240_athena_commando_f_plague
  • Plague (Male) – cid_241_athena_commando_m_plague
  • Bullseye (Female) – cid_242_athena_commando_f_bullseye
  • Hollowhead (Male) – cid_243_athena_commando_m_pumpkinslice
  • Squashman (Male) – cid_244_athena_commando_m_pumpkinsuit
  • Onesie (Female) – cid_245_athena_commando_f_durrburgerpjs
  • Skull Ranger (Female) – cid_246_athena_commando_f_grave

There’s also new emotes and pickaxes, some of which will be attached to an older skin a lot of players want to add to their collection.

It seems that the Skull Trooper skin will also be returning to the item shop, alongside the Skull Ranger.

Both have reportedly been found by data miners and will likely be released with other Halloween cosmetics.

As these remain leaks and have not been confirmed by Epic Games, it’s still worth taking them with a pinch of salt.

However, it does seem very likely that Epic Games are doing their best to make this year’s Halloween event a memorable one.

Not only can they run wild with the designs they release but they also have new competition arriving later this month.

So keeping things fresh for their fanbase is probably the best way to go for the coming months.

Speaking of keeping things fresh, some players are using a devious new tactic to help them get the drop on other players.

As mentioned above, the first Halloween skins have been released by Epic Games via the item shop.

These include the Hay Man and Straw Ops designs, both of which are Scarecrows.

And players have been posting new footage of themselves surprising players by pretending to be a prop.

Epic Games have been slowly releasing new Halloween decorations, while Scarecrows have been found around the map.

The secret to success is using the new skins with the T-Pose emote, which mimics a hanging Scarecrow.

By combining these two things, some players have struck gold and managed to trick their fellow Battle Royale players.

It’s both sneaky and satisfying and is only available to those players who have bought the Scarecrow skins and T-Pose emote.

They are both still available in the shop but will eventually be replaced by new stuff in the item rotation.

Players interested in the new Halloween designs can also purchase the Field Wraith glider for 1,200 V-Bucks, and the Scythe Harvester tool for 800 V-Bucks.

Coward punch fractures Aussie 7s captain’s skull https://briefnews.eu/coward-punch-fractures-aussie-7s-captains-skull/ https://briefnews.eu/coward-punch-fractures-aussie-7s-captains-skull/#respond Fri, 30 Mar 2018 05:02:47 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/coward-punch-fractures-aussie-7s-captains-skull/ AUSTRALIAN rugby sevens captain James Stannard has fractured his skull after being allegedly punched by a British man outside a kebab shop early Friday morning.

Stannard is conscious and has escaped major injury, having been floored on Coogee Bay Road outside a kebab shop in the early hours of this morning.

The 35-year-old was struck by a man in an unprovoked attack after reportedly having a “nice conversation” with him at around 3.10am. Stannard had earlier attended a farewell dinner for departing coach Andy Friend, who along with teammates Lewis Holland and Ben O’Donnell chased down the 22-year-old Brit after he tried to flee.

Squad members, team management and family members of the players were present at the dinner and throughout the night.
The veteran playmaker remains in a stable condition in St Vincents Hospital, with his participation in next month’s Commonwealth Games in grave doubt. Police say Stannard was standing outside the kebab shop when he was punched in an alleged unprovoked assault, causing him to fall and strike his head on the pavement.

CHILLIN: Aussie take relaxed Sydney 7s approach

INJURY: Aussies struggle with teammate’s ‘cruel blow’

Inspector Steve Egbers says the two men were “seemingly having a nice conversation” at the time.

“When he (Stannard) fell to the ground he’s done some damage to the side of his head,” Insp Egbers told reporters in Maroubra.

Insp Egbers said Stannard would remain in hospital for “a little while” under observation.

One of the most popular figures on the Australian sevens scene, 35-year-old Stannard was chosen to captain Australia at the coming Commonwealth Games recently.

Rugby Australia released a statement confirming they are working with NSW Police to investigate the incident.

“Rugby Australia is aware of an incident which has resulted in the hospitalisation of Australian Men’s Sevens player James Stannard in Sydney overnight,” the statement read.

“Rugby Australia is working with NSW Police to investigate the matter and will provide a further update later today.”
The teams were due to play again Friday, but the game was cancelled on Thursday due to a raft of New Zealand injuries with the players then given the day off. The accused was interviewed at Maroubra Police Station and has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

Bailed on strict conditions, he is expected to appear at Waverley Local Court on April 19.

Could Red Skull Appear In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’? https://briefnews.eu/could-red-skull-appear-in-avengers-infinity-war/ https://briefnews.eu/could-red-skull-appear-in-avengers-infinity-war/#respond Sat, 03 Mar 2018 11:59:00 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/could-red-skull-appear-in-avengers-infinity-war/ Red Skull in Infinity War

The Red Skull, Captain America’s arch nemesis, only appeared in one Marvel Cinematic Universe film – Captain America: The First Avenger. Despite rumors that Red Skull might return in films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the character remains sight unseen. Now, a new rumor suggests Red Skull could appear in Avengers: Infinity War. Is Red Skull in Infinity War? Probably not, but let’s speculate wildly.

Hugo Weaving made a pretty good Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger. Unlike most other MCU characters, however, he’s yet to make another appearance. Part of this is likely due to Weaving, who seems uninterested in popping-up in another Marvel film. While the actor signed up for more than one film, he’s previously said “it’s not something I would want to do again,” adding:

“I think I’ve done my dash with that sort of film. It was good to do it and try it out, but to be honest, it’s not the sort of film I seek out and really am excited by.”

Of course, if need be, the character could always be recast (remember those unfounded rumors that Robert Redford’s character in The Winter Soldier would turn out to be Red Skull in disguise? I do!). While Red Skull has sat on the bench for most of the MCU, a new rumor has surfaced suggesting he might pop-up in Avengers: Infinity War. ScreenRant has highlighted that the Avengers: Infinity War Prelude comic reveals what really happened to Red Skull at the end of The First Avenger. Here’s how the scene plays out in the film:

Red Skull Death Scene

The film makes it appear the Red Skull is destroyed by the Tesseract. The Prelude comic, however, is slightly different:

Avengers Infinity War Prelude

It could be argued that this panel reveals Red Skull wasn’t destroyed, but rather sucked up into space. This, in turn, could indicate the Red Skull is still alive, somewhere out there. The fact that this is an Avengers: Infinity War prequel story could indicate that readers are being set up for the return of the Red Skull.

Or, you know, it could just be a quick recap of what happened in The First Avenger. In my humble opinion, this is merely a recap, and not an indication that Red Skull is coming back. Infinity War seems stuffed to the gills already – there are 76 characters in the film, for crying out loud. Why add Red Skull as well?

We’ll know for certain if Red Skull makes another appearance when Avengers: Infinity War opens April 27, 2018.
