The sighting prompted air traffic controllers to ask a nearby pilot if they noticed anything passing over the aircraft. The commercial pilot flying a passenger jet for American Airlines, confirmed the UFO was flying above the aircraft at 40,000 feet and “had a big reflection.”

“Something just passed over us, like a, don’t know what it was, but it was at least two, three thousand feet above us,” he said. “Yeah it passed right over the top of us.”

Other pilots that could hear the curious transmission chimed in to ask if the object was a “Google balloon,” to which another pilot replied “doubtful.” Another can then be heard saying rather matter-of-factly, “UFO.”

“We have no comment beyond what you hear,” said FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford to RT.com. “Other than the brief conversation between two aircraft, the controller was unable to verify that any other aircraft was in the area”.

Lunsford also said the agency has a “close working relationship” with all other military and civilian aircraft operating in that area every day “including high-altitude weather balloons.”

Google Maps is a useful tool for capturing some of the weird wanderings around the globe and allows viewers to explore places they would have otherwise never have ventured.

For the past 18 years, Google has been capturing areas from all over the world triggering the visual exploration craze.

But it’s not just the ordinary and every day that Google has captured, some viewers claim the tool has captured proof of the afterlife.

One image, captured by a Twitter user spotted this spooky sighting whilst looking at his Grandad’s house.

The Twitter user, Jamie C, uploaded the picture of an abandoned house window.

However, this seemingly mundane image is anything but. A spooky face can be seen peering back out of the window.

The face seems to have a ghostly look to it with dark sunken eyes and wide open mouth.

On closer exception, it looks like a strange, long figured hand could be clawing at the window frame.

The figure blends into the darkness but prominent racial features can be made out the longer the image is inspected for.

He wrote: “Just googled my Grandad’s house and I’m positive that’s a ghost at the window of the house next door that’s abandoned.”

Could this be proof of the afterlife? Or is this another strange sighting that has a perfectly reasonable explanation.

Previous google maps footage has captured a particularly spooky island in Mexico.

This island referred to as the “Island of Dolls”, hides a very dark secret.

Amongst the trees there hangs a vast collection of creepy, misshapen dolls next to the eerie canal.

According to legend, the dolls started to appear in the water after the death of a young local girl who drowned on the island.

Believed to be a “sign from the underworld”the island’s resident, Don Julián Santana Barrera continue stop uphold the shrine.

Whether these are a sign from the underworld or not, the dolls certainly represent something and it’s not a nice message.

UFO hunters scour the internet in the hope of finding proof that we are not alone in this world.

This time they have been sent into a frenzy upon the discovery of a very strange object floating in New York skies.

Spotted hovering above East Lake George in New York, USA, the alien hunters believe the truth is out there following this most recent discovery.

The footage shows a Google user honing in on a specific dot in Lago George.

After a brief glimpse of a lush wooded area, the camera zooms in on the strange object.

The claimed ‘sphere UFO’ appears to be a large metallic object floating above the trees.

On closer inspection, the object looks more and more convincing and resembles the typical associations we have with a UFO.

However, some Youtube members are not so easily convinced.

One member, edd s, added: “Water drop on lense. Shame it looked good at first”.

There have been multiple suspected UFO sighting on Google Maps since it launched in 2005.

On a previous occasion, the search tool captured a mysterious shape in the Parana Delta.

A satellite image shows a circle piece of land in Argentina in which theorists believe is the hiding place for a UFO.

According to the UFO Sighting Daily, the shape is large and circular enough to fit a 100 meter UFO through it.

Writing for the site, Scott C warned “Argentina has an overabundance of UFO sightings compared to the rest of the world and I believe this is how aliens try to hide this particular entrance to their base.”

Google maps showcases the weird and the wonderful from across the globe.

Originally started to map the globe, the famed Google maps car has also captured surprising things on its filming trips.

And now one group thinks they have found proof of alien life thanks to the site.

A satellite image posted on Google Earth shows a circular piece of land in Argentina, which conspiracy theorists believe is a hiding place for a UFO.

Found on Google Earth co-ordinates 34 ° 15’07.8’S 58 ° 49’47.4 “W, the mysterious shape is in the Parana Delta.

This is located between the cities of Campana and Karate in Buenos Aires.

A video of the land on YouTube explains why conspiracy theorists are so interested in it.

GreyFace write: “The circular land is surrounded by a thin channel of water with a outside diameter of 130 yards.

“Both the inner and outer circles are almost perfect. The centre circles moves and rotates on its own axis.”

Writing on website UFO Sighting Daily, Scott C.Waring said: “Argentina has an overabundance of UFO sightings compared to the rest of the world and I believe this is how aliens try to hide this particular entrance to their base.

“The shape is large and circular, big enough to fit a 100 meter UFO through it.

“The water below this floating island needs to be dove [sic] into and explored.”

A Google Maps Street View image has revealed a shape that some online have claimed is proof of life after death.

The image was taken near Niederurnen in Switzerland, by the Walensee lake.

“It is really pretty and kind of frightening at the same time.”

Another said: “In what way is this scary and frightening? I found it beautiful and uplifting….thank you.”

Others were less convinced. One wrote: “It must be something on the car probably.”

Various other Google Maps sightings have appeared to show evidence of various paranormal activity.

Alien enthusiasts believe they have found proof of aliens on earth in Argentina.

A seemingly mundane island in a pond has taken on a rather horrifying form.

The small green island in on Bainbridge Island near Seattle seems to have been possessed by the face of a frightening demon.

Found on NE West Port Madison Road near West Port Madison, the face appears in a pond near a large family home. 

The face seems to have an alien look about it, enhanced by the greenery of the island.

However, on closer inspection, it seems that the shape of a face has been created by the foliage.

A more recent image from Google Maps’ satellite shows the island has had some TLC.

Now the shape is more defined and grasses have grown thicker.

A bridge also seems to have been created from the little island to the mainland. 

One famous haunted island is said to be Poveglia in Chicago.

The small strip of land is where those who were infected with the plague sent to die in 1381. It is thought 500 men, women and children died per day on the island during this time.

Other supposedly haunted islands include Hart Island in New York, where the largest tax-funded cemetery in the world is located and Deadman’s Island in Vancouver. This island was declared “dead ground” by native Chief Capilano when it was first invaded by white settlers, thanks to rival tribes warring there.

Another Google Maps sighting has been claimed by some to be proof of aliens.

The show moved to a base at Bovingdon Airfield in Hemel Hempstead, which is filled with derelict buildings and has been home to a number of unexplained incidents over the years.

“The victim found that he could not see through the mist to the car nor could be hear his companions calling out to him.

“In another incident, one driver saw another vehicle get engulfed in the mist.”

Dog walkers have also reported a “presence” that causes their animals to howl and try to run away.

Other passersby have claimed to hear the sounds of aircraft and Morse code, along with a “strange bubblegum smell”.

Rumours are rife that the US Air Force left vehicles abandoned in an underground chamber at the site.

Those who work on the show now fear that a paranormal incident could happen while live on air.

An insider said: “It’s likely many of the contestants and professional skaters have no idea they are performing somewhere that’s rumoured to be haunted.

“If the claims are to believed there’s a good chance something could happen during rehearsals or even while the show is on air.”

A strange sighting on Google Maps has an eerie similarity to the kind of mark that might be left by aliens.

For a long time some have believed beings from other planets are communicating with humans via markings on the ground.

Crop circles have been interpreted as a sign of paranormal activities. 

A number of hoaxes were carried out by Doug Bower and Dave Chorley in the 1970s, causing a media storm when some claimed they were evidence of a UFO landing.

However, some looking at this strange pattern found in the Egyptian desert would be forgiven for assuming there was something other worldly about it.

The pattern, with two spirals that spin out from the centre, seems to show a number of mysterious mounds and holes in the sand.

However, far from being the work of an extra terrestrial – this pattern is definitely man made.

In fact, it is an art work. 

The pattern was created by three artists and is an enormous 1 million square foot in diameter.

Danae Stratou, Alexandra Stratou and Stella Constantinides created the circular design in the landscape.

The piece is called Desert Breath and is meant to show the passage of time and the nature star o the desert.

One spiral is made of mounds, while the other is made up of holes. Over time the winds will slowly blow the hills away and fill the depressions, causing the desert to eventually revet back to its natural state.

There has been another alien sighting on Google recently, although some are questioning its authenticity. 

It seems humans will have to wait a little longer before they see any messages from outer space.

Another Google Maps sighting that seems innocuous actually has a spooky and secret past. 

The app has also captured a mysterious island in Australia with a strange past.

The island is now overgrown with trees, and from above could look like a normal strip of land.
