One of the head writers of popular Netflix Original Lucifer has just confirmed he’ll be making a cameo appearance in a future episode.

Fans had been asking Joe Henderson if he would eventually pop up somewhere in the series after his colleague, Ildy Modrovich, appeared in season four. 

In the episode Somebody’s Been Reading Dante’s Inferno, Modrovich has a humorous exchange with the angel Amenadiel (played by D.B. Woodside), who tries to strike up conversation in a cafe. 

Although neither of the head writers appeared in the first half of season five, British celeb Sharon Osbourne did make a bizarre cameo during an interrogation montage.

Henderson dropped the news when Lucifer’s official Twitter page promoted Sharon’s scene as one of the year’s best guest appearances.

An eager fan tweeted below: “I want @Henderson_Joe to have a cameo, like @Ildymojo did in S4!”

To which Henderson replied, “Oh, it’s going to happen”, which prompted an excited gif reaction from the same follower.

With the second half of season five just around the corner, Henderson could crop up somewhere in the next eight episodes.

For example, the creator of The Sandman comics, from which the original Lucifer series was spun off from, Neil Gaiman, narrated the season three bonus episode Once Upon A Time.

Gaiman stepped in as the voice of God before the role was eventually recast with Dennis Haysbert, who made his grand entrance in this year’s midseason finale.

Moreover, superhero fans were ecstatic when Lucifer teamed up with John Constantine (Matt Ryan) in The CW’s DC crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths.

If both showrunners have guest starred by the end of season five, perhaps the show’s final outing could feature the cameo of all cameos.

Who that could be remains to be seen, though some fans are still keen to see Lucifer drop in with the CW heroes one more time before Ellis exits the role.

As production continues, it is still unknown when season five, part two will eventually be released and potentially reveal Joe Henderson’s cameo to the world.

The showrunners have sadly confirmed it won’t be hitting Netflix before the end of the year, though ‘Lucifans’ are still holding out hope for an early 2021 midseason premiere.

The third season of Yellowstone concluded earlier this year and featured an impressive shake-up of the show’s format. Ahead of its fourth season returning to Paramount and Peacock, Taylor Sheridan has opened up about the daunting task of juggling the Duttons’ multiple storylines.

Season three of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone featured plenty of surprises, which all came to a head in the explosive last minutes of the season finale.

In episode ten, The World Is Purple, John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and his family fell victim to a series of brutal coordinated attacks.

As filming of the fourth season continues in Montana, fans are preparing for a visceral revenge plot to kick off the upcoming instalment.

Meanwhile, co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan has touched on the major changes he made to the series’ format this year.

Drawing from his work writing and directing popular neo-Westerns Hell or High Water and Wind River, Sheridan tackled a sprawling family history in Yellowstone’s 2020 comeback.

Millions of fans tuned in each week to discover more about the wealthy ranch owners, including a devastating reveal about Jamie Dutton’s (Wes Bentley) past. 

Not only was the successful attorney revealed to be adopted in the latest season, but flashbacks also revealed his fraught history with his sister, Beth (Kelly Reilly).

Additionally, the series set the tone with a heart-wrenching scene in which John Dutton promised to secure his family’s legacy to his dying father (Dabney Coleman).

Upping the series’ use of flashbacks this year certainly produced a number of challenges, including the casting of newcomers Kylie Anne Rogers and Dalton Baker to play younger versions of Beth and Jamie.

However, Sheridan revealed flashbacks were the only way forward this season, as other storytelling methods may have dampened the gut-punch of this year’s huge reveals.

He continued: “Another way to do it is just have a monologue explaining the same thing, but it doesn’t have the impact of witnessing it. 

“It’s always more powerful to see it and feel the history of that family, and as I continue to employ it and will continue to do so, I think that it’s a great way for an audience to truly understand how this family came to be.”

Thankfully, the gamble paid off, and Yellowstone proved more popular than ever when season three broadcast on Paramount this year.

Sheridan also cited The Godfather Part II as an influence, adding: “It’s not unlike watching Don Corleone come over to New York at the turn of the century, interspersed with watching Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone fully embrace the power of his family.”

As the series so far is set to be added to NBC’s new streaming platform Peacock, the complex family saga could see an even bigger surge in viewership ahead of the season four premiere in 2021.

Yellowstone will return with season 4 in 2021 on Paramount and Peacock.

Five years ago today, One Tree Hill alum Shantel VanSanten made her debut on The CW’s The Flash, as CCPD officer Patty Spivot. Yet despite being built up as a love interest for CSI Barry Allen, and thus the third side to a triangle involving Iris, Patty wound up gone in a veritable flash, bum-rushed onto an outbound train midway through Season 2.

While speaking with TVLine recently about her turn on another (and very different) superhero show, Amazon’s The Boys (where she plays Butcher’s ex-wife Becca), VanSanten shared that her time on The Flash was cut short by an irritated showrunner.

Now to be clear, VanSanten had zero illusions about Patty being endgame for Barry. Quite the contrary. “There are foundational cornerstones in every comic book that fans really are invested in and want to see, and Barry and Iris ending up together was always going to be the ultimate,” she acknowledged. (Candice Patton’s Iris West for the first half of Season 2 was dealing with the return of her mother, Francine, and discovery that she has a younger brother, Wally.) “I got to be ‘a few stops on the train ride,’ and I am so grateful, because playing Patty was so much fun. We just had the best time.”

That “best time” as a guest star, however, was cut short when VanSanten booked a role on another show (the timing suggests USA Network’s Shooter) — this despite the fact that she had arranged to finish out Season 2 of The Flash.

“I don’t think it was supposed to end as quickly as it did,” she said, alluding to the 11th episode of Season 2, in which Patty bid Barry adieu and hopped a train to Midway City U., after learning of his secret identity. “I don’t know if a whole lot of people know this, but I actually worked it out with my contract so I could finish the whole season and be around. But a showrunner that’s no longer on that show was very upset with me, and so he put me on a train all of a sudden, and I left.”

Andrew Kreisberg was one of The Flash‘s Season 2 showrunners; come November 2017, he would be fired by Warner Bros. TV in the wake of numerous allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate physical contact. That season’s co-showrunners also included Todd Helbing (who was with The Flash through Season 5, and now is in charge of The CW’s Superman & Lois) and Aaron Helbing (who left The Flash after Season 3 to head up History’s Knightfall).

WBTV declined to comment on VanSanten’s claims.

After getting shown the passenger-train door, VanSanten says she figured, “OK, he’ll cool down, and then I can come back eventually… but so many seasons have passed, and Barry is in such a different place as a character now that it would be an odd divergence from the story.”

Even so, “It was a bummer that somebody allowed their own personal feelings to come in the way of what was best for a story,” she said. “I’m glad that person’s gone, and they’ve resolved so many of the issues on the set that were because of him. I’m still friends with a lot of the cast, and that feels great.”

Flash Season 2 Patty BarryDescribing the time she was on The Flash, “fun” is the word often trotted out by the actress. “That show had elements of being a badass, fighting bizarre sharks with gorillas and all sorts of good stuff,” she said with a laugh. “But then there was this aspect that was like a really funny rom-com” with Patty and Barry. “I felt as though they were so similar, and it is fun to see that in a female form, somebody that’s like him.”

Between The Flash and now The Boys, VanSanten has brushed up against superhero greatness, and yet she herself has never had the chance to “suit up” — and mind you, Patty in the comic books at one point takes on the mantle of the motorcycle-riding hero Hot Pursuit.

“It would be so much fun” to do that, she effused. “I’m crossing my fingers that maybe the run of playing the human being in these types of shows will come to an end, and I’ll get to don an awesome suit one of these days. But I feel so grateful for all of the different shows that I’ve gotten to play in, because the messages that I’ve gotten to tell through each character are powerful. Sheridan’s aim was to make the show as authentic as possible to ranch-wrokers and those who live a similar lifestyle to the Dutton family.

As a result, he knew that this would make it successful and appealing to the rest of the population.

“I’m writing it for cowboys because if I make it authentic and believable to them, everyone else will believe the premise as well,” he said.

“Market it the same way, go to horse shows, go to rodeos, go to state fairs and put up banners there.”

13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford faces off against Ozark and Westworld’s Peter Mullan in an exciting new spin on the King Arthur Legend. Before the first season is released on Netflix, the series’ head writer has explained some dramatic changes from book to screen, including an inventive take on the wizard Merlin, played by Vikings favourite Gustaf Skarsgård.

Brand new fantasy drama Cursed is the latest series to take on the iconic King Arthur legend.

In the first season, based on Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller’s illustrated Young Adult novel, the story turns the clock back to before Arthur ascends the throne.

Young sorceress Nimue (played by Katherine Langford) is outcast for her magical gifts, and must take on the sinister Red Paladins.

She then stumbles upon a young mercenary named Arthur (Devon Terrell) and a mysterious quest to find Merlin (Gustaf Skarsgård) and deliver a powerful sword.

The 10-episode series will be available on Friday 17 July and is set to become the next essential summer watch for streaming giant Netflix.

Fresh from her roles in 13 Reasons Why and Knives Out, Katherine Langford is positioned as a brand new fantasy heroine for fans of Game of Thrones and The Witcher.

Cursed will follow the original novel fairly closely, but writer and producer Tom Wheeler has revealed the series has had to make some pivotal changes.

During a preview for TV Insider, Wheeler detailed the series’ premise and promised Cursed’s original readers will still have plenty of surprises to look forward to.

She then embarks on a strange and perilous quest, but Wheeler warns the adventure won’t exactly align with the plot of his original novel.

He continued: “As we began to break down the book chapters and images and shape them into episodes, some events shifted back or were moved forward.

“Plus, we found avenues and opportunities to expand on the world and our characters’ backstories. This will be most noticeable as it relates to Arthur, Morgana (Shalom Brune-Franklin) and Sister Iris (Emily Coates).”

Certain characters will become very familiar to anyone who has read up on their Arthurian legends, but with a number of new twists.

Wheeler added: “We were conscious not to contradict the novel, but we did try to fill in areas the book had not fully explored.”

Plus, a tragic and undisclosed death is said not to occur in the first season, leaving the door open for an even sadder ending down the line.

The showrunner teased: “One character’s life was spared through the passionate lobbying of the writers!”

Cursed is available July 17 on Netflix.
