The updated COVID-19 boosters targeting the BA.4/5 subvariants now rolling out nationwide are meant to head off a surge of the disease this fall and winter—but they are also meant to signal a shift in the nation’s pandemic response, which is moving out of an emergency phase to a place with routine, potentially annual vaccinations against a virus that is clearly not going away.

In a White House press briefing Tuesday, top infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci along with other Biden administration officials, repeatedly pushed the idea that this new phase will see COVID-19 vaccinations follow the footsteps of seasonal flu vaccines.

“It is becoming increasingly clear that—looking forward with the COVID-19 pandemic, in the absence of a dramatically different variant—we likely are moving towards a path with a vaccination cadence similar to that of the annual influenza vaccine, with annual, updated COVID-19 shots matched to the currently circulating strains for most of the population,” Fauci said.

Only on The Challenge can a dumb argument over frozen food turn into some serious drama.

Wednesday’s episode brought forth one of the most dangerous stunts yet, sending not one but two challengers straight to the hospital. But that wasn’t the only fireworks we’d see in Double Agents‘ third episode.

Stemming from a small spat between CT and Kaycee, Josh and Devin get into it after a simple “Big Brother sucks!” taunt leads to a blown gasket from Josh. (BB19 live feeders, haven’t we suffered enough?) While the drama didn’t turn physical, it did affect the week’s house vote, sending two veteran friends into an elimination that looked just as exhausting as Josh’s childish outburst felt. Let’s break it all down.

Following last week’s shocking team switcheroo, Kyle tells us he feels betrayed by Fessy’s alliance. (Hold up: Kyle, you lied about your vote, dude, but OK, go off.) He now plans on joining up with CT, Wes and Devin, aka the challengers “with their backs against the wall.”

Fessy lets Kyle and some others in on the fact that the “secret vote” isn’t so secret after all. Kyle comes clean about his lie, but then tells Wes that the entire “Stupid Brigade” tried to flip the vote on him. (When did the Young Bucks get a new nickname? Was I sleeping on that?!) Wes is understandably bummed out; he thought the YBs were his friends. A fight erupts, with Kyle calling Fes a p—y a gazillion times, but this heat isn’t Fessy’s only problem. Cory expresses his disappointment that Fessy told a huge secret to the house before telling his own alliance members. It only took three episodes for this season to become deliciously twisted.

CHALLENGE ACTIVATED | In “Road Kill,” two teams face off on top of a semi truck while it’s hauling at 50 mph. Each duo must throw the other team off of the side (into netting, of course), but for the first time in Challenge history, the stunt will be done without harnesses. Here are the highlights:

*Devin/Nicole vs. Kam/Kyle ends in a draw, with a dislocated shoulder for Nicole.
*Wes/Natalie defeat Nany/Josh, even though all four players land in the net.
*Mechie/Liv vs. Tori/Cory ends in another shoulder injury, this time for newbie Liv.
*Big dogs CT and Fessy go head-to-head, but their brawl unfortunately times out.

The Challenge Season 36 LeroyLeroy and Kaycee ultimately end up with the W for their match against Amber M. and Nelson.

Back at the house, the group realizes all of Nicole’s things are gone; she’s been sent home due to her injury, leaving Devin a lone soldier. Liv, however, returns, but awaits a radiology report.

And this is when what might be the dumbest fight in Challenge history takes place. Clearly the editors agree because Whitney Houston’s “So Emotional” drops as Josh rants and raves like a — wait for it — meatball! Moving on!

DELIBERATION | Devin’s on the defense thanks to all the drama, but Wes tells him he wants Tori and Cory nominated. At the house meeting, the group has no idea if it’s a guy’s or girl’s elimination day because Nicole’s DQ may have shaken up the schedule. Devin’s the first to fire a shot, telling the group he’s gunning for Tori and Cory, which causes Josh to speak up against Devin. The house votes, and when Leroy and Kaycee get the results, Devin is, indeed, the compromised agent.

THE CRATER | Leroy and Kaycee make a big move with their big decision, choosing two-time champ Wes to face off against his friend. In “Snapping Point,” the opponents are tethered together by a rope. They must race through a set of posts and detonate their station at the end of the course. Wes starts digging a hole in the sand to serve as an anchor for his weight. It’s a stalemate for a while, with both players struggling to pull the other back. Devin then not only takes the lead, but seals the deal. He wins the match and the gold skull, sending Wes on his way.

Devin’s now qualified to run the final, but he’s gotta pick a new partner first. He chooses Tori (over Natalie? Really!?) leaving the Survivor winner for Cory. “Getting a gold skull probably does put a target on my back, but guess what? I’ve had a target on my back this entire game… Now, I have a gold skull in the center of that target. Now watch me go to work,” says Devin.

Game on.

The 72-year-old action star is busy shooting Rambo 5: Last Blood in Bulgaria and Spain.

So far he’s been updating fans through his Instagram account with new snaps of his Rambo and now he’s shared a couple of set videos.

One is a 30-second clip showing his Vietnam vet has become something of a cowboy, as he practises riding a horse in a Stetson hat.

In another piece of footage Stallone goes round in circles on a noble steed.

The actor has also added a new snap of himself in character as Rambo “lost in thought”

While yet another shows a contrast of his eyes in the new film compared to the original, 1982’s First Blood.

A caption by Stallone reads: “No beast so fierce as a man pushed to the edge… #rambo5.”

However it’s a shot of the star’s gloved hand working on the script while sitting on some farm machinery, that will cause the most attention.

Here Stallone captioned: “A Writer’s job is never done…

“Still working on the screenplay in between shots of operating an earth mover…”

The actor has penned the new script with Matt Cirulnick, but should fans be concerned he’s still tweaking the dialogue at this stage?

It’s not always a good sign, but hopefully, the move is with good intentions. Plus, as previous outings have shown, John Rambo isn’t exactly a chatterbox.

The film’s synopsis reads: “[The movie] finds him living in a ranch in Arizona, deeply troubled and wrestling with PTSD as he picks up casual work wherever he can.

“When long-time family friend and estate manager Maria informs Rambo that her granddaughter has gone missing after crossing into Mexico for a party, he sets off with her to find the youngster.

“What ensues is a violent descent into hell as Rambo uncovers a sex-trafficking ring. He teams up with a journalist whose half-sister has also been kidnapped and must deploy all his skills to save the girls and bring down a vicious crime lord.”

Rambo 5: Last Blood is set for release in Autumn 2019.

Steroid injections, heat or cold temperature therapy or even trigger point injections could also prevent joint pain, it said.

Arthritis is a common condition that can affect people of all ages – including young children.

The most common type of arthritis in the UK is osteoarthritis, followed by rheumatoid arthritis.

Common arthritis symptoms include joint pain, inflammation and restricted movement.

While there’s currently no cure for the condition, some treatments aim to relieve signs of joint pain.

Canada's Brooke Henderson continues to keep within striking distance of her second major title.

The Smiths Falls, Ont., native fired a 2-under 69 Friday to remain two shots off leaders Amy Olson (65), Mo Martin (66) and Mi Hyang Lee (66) at the Evian Championship in Évian-les-Bains, France.

Henderson is part of a seven-woman group chasing Olson for the last LPGA major championship of the season.

The 21-year-old converted six birdies on the day, including four of her last six holes. She also overcame two bogeys and one double bogey.

Already an LPGA major champion, Henderson became the first Canadian woman in 45 years to win national golf title after winning the CP Women's Open last month.

"I feel like my game is in a really good spot," said Henderson. "To be able to rebound like that mentally I think is really key. On this golf course you got to stay patient, and I feel like we were able to do that even though it's very difficult at times.

"I'm really excited for the next few days, so we'll just see what happens."

Tour rookie Maria Torres shared the four-way lead Friday after two rounds in her second major tournament. Top-ranked, two-time major winner Sung Hyun Park has the weekend off.

Torres, the first Puerto Rican to earn an LPGA Tour card, shot a 2-under 69 before Olson, Martin and Lee matched her 8-under 134 total.

"It's something new and it's exciting [to lead]," said the 23-year-old Torres, who is ranked No. 184. She missed the cut at 10 over in her only previous major, the Women's PGA Championship won in July by the South Korean world No. 1.

Park (71) started and finished play Friday at 6 over at the sun-soaked Evian Resort Golf Club and missed the cut by three shots.

Par-saving putt

Olson had seven birdies and secured a share of the lead with an 18-foot par-saving putt on the 18th.

"That was huge," said the 26-year-old North Dakota native, whose career-best finish in a major is tied for ninth at the ANA Inspiration this season. "Seeing it drop, that's a lot of confidence going into tomorrow."

Olson's working week in France meant she needed a replacement to bake cookies for the Indiana State linebackers coached by her husband, Grant. The Sycamores play Saturday at Eastern Illinois.

"The head coach's wife made them for the linebackers this week," Olson said. "She got me covered."

Lee made an eagle at her final hole, the par-5 ninth, to be the highest ranked co-leader, at No. 59. The South Korean's two career LPGA wins are more than the other three combined, though Martin won the 2014 Women's British Open.

One shot back, Carlota Ciganda of Spain carded 70 to follow a 65 that only Torres equalled Thursday.

Austin Ernst (70) is also two shots back, completing her round minutes before Hurricane Florence made landfall close to her home state South Carolina.

"I've checked the weather app every day and talked to my family back home," said the Seneca native. "It's more flooding [risk] where I am. Let's see what happens."

American amateur Rachel Heck, who is only 16 years old, safely made the cut at her second major. A 73 got her to 1 over.

The top-ranked American, world No. 5 Lexi Thompson, was in tears on the 18th green and missed the cut by one stroke. She swiped her club in frustration after a scuffed chip that led to a bogey-5 and a round of 75. The 2014 ANA Inspiration winner had also dropped a shot at the 17th.

‘Tis the season for major device leaks, it seems. Austin Mittelstadt has posted photos of a store display that spills the beans on GoPro’s unannounced Hero 7 action cameras. The leak shows a cam that looks similar to the Hero 6 on the surface, but promises “gimbal-like” image stabilization that’s smoother than what you get with its soon-to-be-outdated precursor. There’s also a hint at a shakeup in product strategy, for that matter.

Where the current Hero range is split more along generational lines (Hero, Hero 5 Black and Hero 6 Black), there would be three Hero 7 variants: Black, Silver and White. It’s not clear exactly what would distinguish the three from each, although the Black would be the only one with a front-facing display.

GoPro is believed to be introducing the Hero 7 line sometime later in September. If so, it’s coming just in time. GoPro has been trying to turn around its ailing fortunes by scaling back its business and exploring alternative revenue sources, but its success ultimately revolves around strong action cam sales. The Hero 7 may be vital to keeping people interested at a time when many people are content to shoot video with their drones and smartphones.
