Amazon on Wednesday released the first full-length trailer for its anticipated limited series Good Omens, which is set to bow with all six episodes on Friday, May 31.
Good Omens takes place in 2018, when the Apocalypse is near and Final Judgment is set to descend upon humanity. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, and tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. However, Aziraphale (played by Masters of Sex‘s Michael Sheen), a somewhat fussy angel, and Crowley, a fast-living demon (Doctor Who‘s David Tennant) — both of whom have lived amongst Earth’s mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle — are not actually looking forward to the coming war.
In the above trailer, Crowley warns Aziraphale that armageddon is just days away, and they’ll have to work together to track down the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware that he is meant to bring upon the end of days.
As previously reported, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) will lend his voice to the show’s animated Satan. Meanwhile, Brian Cox (Succession) will serve as the voice of Death.
Rounding out the impressive cast are Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Frances McDormand (Fargo), Adria Arjona (Emerald City), Michael McKean (Better Call Saul), Nina Sosanya (Love Actually) and Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinders).
Press PLAY on the trailer above, then hit the comments and tell us if you plan to add Good Omens to your Prime Video queue.

Monday has arrived with some good omens, indeed.
Neil Gaiman, who will be writing and running the miniseries adaptation of his and Terry Pratchett‘s 1990 novel Good Omens, released the first look at stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen in costume as the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale, respectively. Three words: Blonde. Michael. Sheen.
It was an inspired piece of casting for the Amazon and BBC miniseries to bring on Tennant as the devil-may-care (pun intended) Crowley and Sheen as his fussy, uptight foil.
Now with principal photography beginning in London for the miniseries, The Good Omens first looks shows the two actors already inhabiting their roles, with Tennant striking a pose beneath his dyed red locks and rocker-style suit and Sheen looking prim, with his bleach-blonde hair perfectly matching the color of his tan suit.

Gaiman’s caption refers to the beginning of the book, which takes place in a flashback 11 years before the Apocalypse, when the longtime enemies-turned-unlikely-allies strike a deal to avert the end of the world. It’s not as grim as the situation appears, however — Good Omens is more offbeat fantasy-comedy than bleak apocalypse story. Described as a part fantasy-drama, part horror-comedy series, Good Omens takes place in 2018 “when the Apocalypse is near and Final Judgment is set to descend upon humanity,” according to Deadline. Unfortunately, someone has misplaced the Antichrist, prompting Crowley and Aziraphale to join a race to find him and stop the end of the world.
Gaiman tweeted the picture from the London set and said Monday:
“People have fallen in love with an angel and a demon in a book by Terry Pratchett and me, and they have been excited and nervous to see how they would appear on screen — and I was probably the most nervous and excited of all… Michael Sheen is the best and finest of bookseller angels, David Tennant the coolest and most delightful of demons. Together they are one hell of a double act (or do I mean one made in Heaven?)”
Good Omens will be Gaiman’s second time acting as a showrunner for a series, creating Neverwhere for BBC in 1996, which he later adapted into a book. The Hugo Award-winning writer has frequently written for television series like Doctor Who, and Babylon 5, but this will be his first time spearheading an adaptation of one of his works. More recently, Bryan Fuller‘s TV adaptation of American Gods has made waves over at Starz.
Gaiman initially refused to adapt Good Omens himself, stating that he and co-writer Terry Pratchett had agreed to adapt it together. But when Pratchett passed away in March 2015, Gaiman received a post-humous letter from his co-writer giving Gaiman his blessing to adapt Good Omens and requesting that Gaiman write the adaptation himself. Soon, Amazon announced Gaiman was working on a miniseries adaptation earlier this year, and the production has moved quickly from the page to the set. It’s a happy ending for a project that had long languished in development hell after Terry Gilliam‘s planned film adaptation of Good Omens starring Robin Williams and Johnny Depp fell through in 2002.
Good Omens will be directed and executive produced by Emmy winner Douglas Mackinnon, known for Sherlock and Outlander. The miniseries also stars Jack Whitehall, Michael McKean, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Nina Sosanya, Ned Dennehy, and Ariyon Bakare.
Shooting will continue for six months in London, Oxfordshire and South Africa. The series is aiming for a 2019 premiere.

Just a few months ago, we heard Charlie Sheen was still hoping to return as Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn and get back in the dugout with his old Cleveland Indians gang for Major League 3. Since then, we haven’t heard anything about an real development on the project that has supposedly been in the works for years, but there was a little Major League reunion that happened this past weekend that should make fans simultaneously happy and also aware that time is a cruel mistress.
In Iowa, there’s a celebrity softball game, meet and greet, and more that takes place at the real Field of Dreams from the movie of the same name starring Kevin Costner. Typically, the celebrities are former baseball players participating in the game, as well as Q&A sessions and autograph signings. But this year, MAB Celebrity Services and Prince Marketing Group rounded up Major League stars Charlie Sheen, Corbin Bernsen and Tom Berenger for a photo session, and you can get a glimpse at the gang below.
Charlie Sheen posted the Major League reunion photo on Twitter this weekend, but has since deleted it for some reason:
Perhaps he deleted it because the response from the internet was less than favorable after seeing how all three of the actors have aged in the 28 years since Major League was first release. Personally, I feel like you gotta cut them some slack when almost three decades have passed since all of the actors were in their prime. Charlie Sheen just turned 52 on September 3 this past weekend while Corbin Bersnen is about to turn 63 on September 7. Meanwhile, Tom Berenger just turned 68 this year. So of course they’re not going to look their best.
The downside is that, even though the actors are aging as all of us will over the years, the fact that they’re starting to show it more means it will be unlikely these guys get together for Major League 3, unless it takes place in a prison (I’d watch that), or there’s some kind of strike (a la The Replacements), or the players pass the torch and become coaches. Either way, TMZ has more photos showing the trio having a good time meeting fans at the Field of Dreams event, and that’s all that matters.

The Apocalypse is looking pretty good right now.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant have been cast in the Amazon TV series Good Omens, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s whimsical, and very British, apocalyptic comedy. It’s some inspired casting that bodes well for the adaptation of another Gaiman work, who is on a roll right now after American Gods. A good omen for the show, you might say.
Sheen and Tennant have been cast in the lead roles of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, respectively, according to Variety.
The pair’s longtime enmity has turned into begrudging friendship after centuries of coexisting, and when the two of them are faced with the impending Apocalypse, they set off to stop it. However, despite their foolproof plan to trick their respective bosses, they lose track of the Antichrist. And thus begins the apocalyptic comedy of errors.
The adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett‘s 1990 novel is being produced by Amazon as a six-hour miniseries. The show is set in 2018 as the world is faced with the final judgment.
While Amazon didn’t comment on the casting, Sheen confirmed it, saying in a statement to Variety:
“I first read ‘Good Omens’ as a teenager and it’s been one of my favourite stories ever since. To be part of the team entrusted with bringing it alive on screen is a bit of a dream come true to be honest. To work alongside Neil, who I think is one of the greatest storytellers of all time, is incredibly exciting. And, just like the rest of the world, I’m a huge fan of David’s so I relish trying to save it with him.”
Good Omens is a hilarious and subversive take on the Apocalypse, with an uptight angel and sardonic demon leading the charge in a story about fate and humanity. It’s not all as serious as it sounds, taking an offbeat approach to a story that’s often been told in a grim, horrific fashion. It’s delightfully British as well, with eccentric characters populating the pages of the book, and likely the series too.
I’m pretty excited for this casting news, which is absolutely in line with how I imagined the characters when reading the book. Sheen as the “fussy” angel is a perfect fit, having played many pseudo-intellectual and straight-laced Brits over the years, while Tennant has been stretching his villainous muscles in roles like Kilgrave in Jessica Jones. But Crowley will likely be a riff off his charismatic rock-star-lite character in Fright Night, upping the sleaze and camp.
Good Omens was Gaiman’s first novel, written in collaboration with Pratchett, who died in 2015. Terry Gilliam was once attached to direct a film adaptation of Good Omens, but that fell through. Gaiman will be involved in writing for the Good Omens miniseries, taking a creative role in the show like he has with Starz’s American Gods run by Bryan Fuller. Gaiman is starting to take over TV, with a Sandman series also waiting in the wings. The Fox show Lucifer is also inspired by the character in Gaiman’s Sandman series, who received his own comic book spin-off back in the day.
Good Omens is co-produced by BBC Studios with Narrativia, the production company of Pratchett’s daughter Rhianna, and the Blank Corporation. The series is in association with BBC Worldwide for Amazon Prime Video and the BBC.

Charlie Sheen wants to play Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn again. The actor, who hasn’t starred in a movie since 2012 and probably doesn’t have to make another film again after Two and a Half Men, has been talking about Major League 3 since last year. The original movie’s writer/director, David S. Ward, has a finished script most of the original cast is game to come back for, according to Sheen.
Below, find out what another Major League sequel would be about.
Sheen recently told TMZ another Major League is what he’s “primarily focused on” at the moment. Sheen called it Major League 3, but that was technically Major League: Back to the Minors, which starred Scott Bakula and Walton Goggins. It’s not particularly memorable though. Sheen said the original cast would return, except James Gammon, who passed away in 2010.
The sequel is a “passing of the torch” story, with Vaughn long retired and now selling cars. Last year, Sheen gave a rundown of the story to The Hollywood Reporter:
You find the Vaughn character selling cars and his arm is so shot that if you buy a car from him, he’ll play catch with your kid in the parking lot. And then there is an ex who shows up, who he had a tryst with a couple decades ago, and she has a twentysomething kid, who is now in the Cleveland organization, throwing about 102 mph. So, the story pretty much focuses on that. The kid does not like me. We do not like each other. It bookends our story, but it also passes the torch.
Sheen told TMZ they just need somebody to sign a check, but it might be more complicated than that unless there’s been some resolution with the rights. Morgan Creek owns the property, and the last time the actor checked in with them, they didn’t want to make the movie:
I would love to do it with Morgan Creek, who owns the rights, but if they don’t want to do it, then I am sure there is a way that they could be involved and everybody wins. The script that we’ve all been sitting on is pure gold and absolutely shootable. It’s David Ward at his best. I mean, this is the guy who won the Oscar for writing The Sting. We could be in preproduction tomorrow.
Ward hasn’t directed a film since 1996’s Down Periscope, which was two years after he directed Sheen in Major League II. For good reason, Sheen wasn’t particularly proud of that sequel, which replaced Wesley Snipes with Omar Epps in the role of Willie May Hays. It paled in comparison to the first movie – lacking the laughs, excitement, and grand finale. The cast was magic in the first movie, but they didn’t click as well in the sequel with less to do. Another Major League probably isn’t high up on many people’s must-see sequel list, but another Major League starring the original cast is more enticing than an inevitable remake.

Kyle Sheen says he’s being unfairly vilified and threatened for a season-ending blindside hit on former Oilers star Ryan Smyth.
“It wasn’t a flying elbow. I didn’t have my elbow up. I didn’t jump. For people to say that I was targeting Ryan Smyth is false and untrue,” Sheen said in a Thursday morning interview with CBC Radio’s Edmonton AM countering accusations from Smyth’s coach.
“My intent was to finish a clean hit with a guy that was cutting across the middle, trying to score a goal.”
In Game 1 of the Alberta senior provincial hockey finals on Saturday, the Lacombe Generals winger appeared to target Smyth’s head.
The Stony Plain Eagles captain was coming down on the left wing when he cut across across the slot and released a backhand shot.
After the shot entered the net, Sheen blindsided Smyth, hitting him solidly in the face.
Smyth collapsed and laid motionless on the ice. Sheen was ejected from the game.
“To turn around and see him laying there, you could see the blood from the cut on his face on his visor. It was not a good feeling in my stomach. It made me feel sick,” said Sheen, 33.
“To sit and watch it, it doesn’t look good on the fact that he scores on the play. Personally, I don’t like the hit. My shoulder makes contact with his head and that was not my intention at all.”
Sheen said he never intended to deliver a dirty hit, but in the speed of the game, he got lost in the play. By the time he realized the puck was in the net, it was too late to pull back.
“If you look at the video, I’ve committed to the hit,” said Sheen, who has averaged between two and four penalty minutes per game throughout his playing career.
“By the time he releases his backhand, I’m within a stick’s length from him … everything happened so fast.”
Smyth was taken to hospital after the game for tests and to make sure he hadn’t suffered a skull fracture. He’s “on the road to recovery” at home and will be assessed by doctors over the next few days, team officials said in a statement.
He’s not expected to rejoin the series.
Sheen was assessed a match penalty on the play and is unsure when the suspension will be lifted. There may be supplemental discipline from the league.
Even so, he’s more concerned about the vitriol he’s receiving from strangers on social media.
He’s been flooded with dozens of angry messages, even death threats.
“I’ve got a guy telling me that if I don’t formally, publicly apologize to Ryan that I’m going to get a beat down, and the conversation goes on that there are already plans to have my head on a pike,” Sheen said.
“And some guy just wrote that I need to die painfully of cancer. That’s a line that’s been crossed.”
Thank you all for the well wishes. I’m home resting with my family & hoping for a speedy recovery. The EMT’s and Eagles staff were amazing.
Sheen hasn’t spoken to Smyth since Saturday’s game, but said he left a voicemail, wishing him a quick recovery.
“It was a gut-wrenching feeling to seeing him laying there. I’ve laid out a thousand hits over the last 16 years and not once have I injured somebody like that,” he said.
“I respect him as a hockey player. I think he’s done wonders for the hockey community.
“I don’t want to see him hurt. I want him to have a speedy recovery and join this league again.”
