This year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Will take place in Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales for the first time after coronavirus travel restrictions prevented the show taking place in its usual spot Down Under. As Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly head to Wales, has the full list of celebrities Vernon Kay, Victoria Derbyshire and Shane Richie been revealed?

Victoria Derbyshire

The 52-year old journalist is rumoured to have signed up to the ITV show after The Victoria Derbyshire Show was axed earlier this year.

“Victoria is always game for a challenge so when she was approached for I’m A Celebrity she jumped at the chance,” a source said.

“It’s always something she’s wanted to do but because of her family, she’s never wanted to fly to Australia and be away from them for so long.

“When the show moved to Wales and the opportunity came up, she didn’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth so said yes straight away.”

AJ Pritchard

Ever since the professional Ballroom and Latin dancer quit Strictly Come Dancing he’s been heavily linked to I’m A Celebrity.

Addressing his exit, AJ said: “I did four years of Strictly, which I absolutely loved, but it was definitely the right time for me to venture into new things.

“Strictly wouldn’t allow a lot of things to happen that I wanted to happen, so it meant you do have to do that leap, and for me, it’s not a risk, it’s something I’m passionate about.”

Shane Ritchie

The EastEnders favourite has decided it’s time to face his fears and ITV bosses are thrilled they’ve managed to sign him up.

The actor could be set to follow in the footsteps of former Walford stars including Charlie Brooks and win the show.

“ITV have always wanted Shane for the jungle but with panto not happening this year and other work opportunities less likely, he decided this was the time to take the plunge,” a source said.

Jessica Plummer

Shane won’t be the only EastEnders star in the Castle as Chantelle Atkins star Jessica is reported to have signed up.

Jessica’s predecessor Jacqueline Jossa was crowned Queen of the Jungle last year. Will the soap star repeat her success?

Giovanna Fletcher

The author and presenter of the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, whose guests include none other than Kate Middleton, is rumoured to be heading into the Welsh castle.

Giovanna’s married to McFly star Tom Fletcher and the couple share sons Buzz, Buddy and Max.

Hollie Arnold

The record-breaking Paralympian is set to join this year’s cast of stars.

She’ll likely be the one to beat when it comes to the Castle’s challenges after competing at the Rio Paralympics in 2016, the World Championships in 2017 and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Mo Farah

Mo Farah won a place in the hearts of the nation when he won gold on Super Saturday at the London 2012 Olympics.

“Mo’s been a big fan of the show for years and was just waiting for the right time in his career to do it,” a source told The Sun.

“He obviously has an excellent level of fitness and mental focus so will be great at the Bushtucker Trials and will be a positive addition for keeping up team morale for campmates – especially as a lot of the celebs are worried how cold it will be.”

Beverly Callard

The Coronation Street stalwart is set to earn £125,000 from her stint in the Welsh Castle.

After announcing her exit from the ITV soap earlier this year, the actress has been heavily tipped to join the line-up.

Ruthie Henshall

The West End actress, singer, dancer and former lover of Prince Edward will head into the I’m A Celebrity castle.

The stage star has admitted she was smuggled into Buckingham Palace during their relationship in the early 1990s.

Russell Watson

The Operatic tenor is heavily rumoured to be swapping the stage for the Castle camp this year.

On a recent appearance on Steph’s Packed Lunch, Russell shared: “It would be lovely! Not been paid for doing anything else this year!”

“I’m really claustrophobic, but that is to do with my association from when I had the [brain] tumours and the association with MRI scans and as soon as I go into anything that is an enclosed space I start to panic – I didn’t use to before!” Russell added.

Jordan North

The Radio 1 DJ completes this year’s I’m A Celebrity line-up.

Jordan will be swapping his 11am-1pm slots on Radio 1 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for North Wales.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns on ITV on Sunday 15th November.

SNL Newcomer Shane Gillis Used Asian Slur in September 2018 Podcast Video https://briefnews.eu/snl-newcomer-shane-gillis-used-asian-slur-in-september-2018-podcast-video/ https://briefnews.eu/snl-newcomer-shane-gillis-used-asian-slur-in-september-2018-podcast-video/#respond Fri, 13 Sep 2019 00:32:41 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/snl-newcomer-shane-gillis-used-asian-slur-in-september-2018-podcast-video/

On the same day that NBC’s Saturday Night Live cast its first-ever Asian cast member, a video has surfaced in which Shane Gillis, another of Season 45’s new hires, uses racist slurs while critiquing Chinatown and its culture.

In a clip (embedded below) from “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast”, dated September 2018 and brought to light on Twitter by freelance writer Seth Simons, Gillis refers to “the f–king ch-nks” while riffing with cohost Matt McCusker on Chinatown’s architecture and restaurants. Gillis and McCusker also use racist pronunciations such as “dericious” and “nooders,” and go on about the “f–king hassle” of communicating their menu orders to Chinese waiters.

Gillis, who was recently recognized as a New Face at the 2019 Just for Laughs Festival, on Thursday morning was announced as one of SNL‘s three new cast members, along with the aforementioned Bowen Yang (who is Chinese) and Chloe Fineman.

NBC has not yet responded to TVLine’s request for comment on Gillis’ comments from 11 months ago, in a YouTube podcast video which has since been deleted.

Exclusive ‘The Dead Center’ Clip Shane Carruth Brings Someone Back from the Dead https://briefnews.eu/exclusive-the-dead-center-clip-shane-carruth-brings-someone-back-from-the-dead/ https://briefnews.eu/exclusive-the-dead-center-clip-shane-carruth-brings-someone-back-from-the-dead/#respond Fri, 21 Sep 2018 16:52:31 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/exclusive-the-dead-center-clip-shane-carruth-brings-someone-back-from-the-dead/ the dead center clip

The Dead Center is a horror film starring none other than Shane Carruth, of Primer and Upstream Color acclaim. Carruth plays a doctor in a psychiatric ward treating a mysterious patient who woke up in a body bag in a morgue. Just what is going on here? Whatever it is…it’s creepy. We have an exclusive The Dead Center clip below, full of foreboding atmosphere and a story about resurrection.

The Dead Center Clip

Shane Carruth hasn’t helmed a feature film since 2013’s mind-bending Upstream Color, but he’s kept acting in short films, TV shows and more since then. Now he appears in and produces The Dead Center, from director Billy Senese. In The Dead Center, Carruth plays a doctor who teams with a medical examiner to look into the strange case of a John Doe who woke up in a morgue. In the clip above, the John Doe spins a tale about dying, and coming back again…and not for the first time.

This clip is suitably creepy and unsettling, and has piqued my interest for sure. As has the trailer, which you can see below.

The Dead Center Trailer

And here’s a slightly different trailer.

The Dead Center Trailer 2

The film, which also stars Poorna Jagannathan, Jeremy Childs, and Bill Feehely, will have its premiere screening at the 2018 LA Film Festival on September 21, 2018.

When a mysterious “John Doe” wakes up in a morgue and wanders into a psychiatric ward, a devoted doctor and curious medical examiner must slowly uncover dark and sinister secrets about the man that reveal a more horrifying truth than they could have ever imagined.

‘The Predator’ Trailer: Can Shane Black Give This Franchise New Life? https://briefnews.eu/the-predator-trailer-can-shane-black-give-this-franchise-new-life/ https://briefnews.eu/the-predator-trailer-can-shane-black-give-this-franchise-new-life/#respond Thu, 10 May 2018 13:46:22 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-predator-trailer-can-shane-black-give-this-franchise-new-life/ predator trailer new

After appearing in a supporting role in director John McTiernan’s 1987 action classic Predator, Shane Black has returned to the franchise as a writer/director with The Predator, his new reinvention of the sci-fi saga. 20th Century Fox has just released the first trailer, and you can check it out below.

The Predator Trailer

Nimrod Antal’s 2010 movie Predators was set in the future and took its human characters off the Earth to a planet that functioned as a game reserve, but Black has said that his film is set in the year 2018 and takes place before the events of Predators. This movie is set after the original Predator and after 1990’s Predator 2, which starred Danny Glover and Gary Busey. Predator 2 brought the alien hunters into Los Angeles and inserted them into turf wars between local gangs (it’s a bad movie), so hopefully Black and co-writer Fred Dekker‘s decision to move the action to suburbia won’t be as disastrous here.

A couple of weeks ago, actor Keegan-Michael Key revealed that a majority of the third act of this film was completely rewritten and reshot. It’ll be interesting to see if Black was able to smoothly slot those two pieces of the story together.

The movie stars Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Jane, Jake Busey (who’s playing the son of Gary Busey’s Predator 2 character), Edward James Olmos, Trevante Rhodes, Augusto Aguilera, Alfie Allen, Olivia Munn, Yvonne Strahovski, and Jacob Tremblay.

Here’s the official synopsis:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

The Predator blasts into theaters on September 14, 2018.

Dwayne Johnson Provides an Update on Shane Black’s ‘Doc Savage’ https://briefnews.eu/dwayne-johnson-provides-an-update-on-shane-blacks-doc-savage/ https://briefnews.eu/dwayne-johnson-provides-an-update-on-shane-blacks-doc-savage/#respond Fri, 13 Apr 2018 07:46:59 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/dwayne-johnson-provides-an-update-on-shane-blacks-doc-savage/ doc savage movie

Dwayne Johnson is a busy man. He’s part of approximately 50 different film franchises right now, but he’s clearly always up to add some more. Like Doc Savage, for instance. Johnson’s name has been attached to a Shane Black-directed Doc Savage movie since at least 2016, and now the much in-demand actor has offered an update on the project.

What’s up with Doc Savage? Iron Man 3 director Shane Black has been attempting to make a Doc Savage movie since 2009, and the project has been on again/off again ever since. Thor star Chris Hemsworth was Black’s original choice to star, but in 2016, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson became officially attached. Since then, Johnson has been very, very busy, and Black has been working on The Predator. But Doc Savage is still in the works. Kind of.

Speaking with Collider, Dwayne Johnson says the Doc Savage movie has run into “business” issues. Whether this means budgetary matters, or problems with the rights to the material, isn’t clear, but Johnson says that no matter what, he really hopes he gets to work with Shane Black on some film someday:

“First of all, love Shane Black and we’ve had multiple meetings on that project that we were going to work on. Right now, Shane’s doing things. I’m doing things. That project had a few issues, not creative issues but more so business affairs issues — where the project once was, who had rights to it, where we were trying to move it to. There was a lot of that, which we’re still kind of working through. At the end of the day, Shane’s such a spectacular writer or director, but whether it’s that project or something else, we’ve made a pact that we’re going to work together at some point in our careers.”

Doc Savage was created in the 1930s for pulp magazines. Since birth, the character’s father and a team of scientists trained Doc Savage to have extreme intelligence and nearly super-human abilities, giving him “great strength and endurance, a photographic memory, a mastery of the martial arts, and vast knowledge of the sciences.” Basically, Doc Savage is the guy who is good at everything.

“Doc Savage is a personal film to me,” Shane Black said in the past. “It’s a 1930s pulp character so it hasn’t been around for 75 years or so, but people if they’re introduced to it they’ll get to know, hopefully, what I came to love as a kid. I’ve read those series for 43 years and always wanted to figure out how to crack it.”

This really seems like the perfect match for both Black and Johnson, and if it’ll be a shame if it never happens. If Doc Savage never gets made, let’s hope Johnson is serious about his pledge to work with Black in the future on something, because a Shane Black/Dwayne Johnson movie sounds too good to pass up.

EastEnders spoilers: Shane Ritchie to return to Walford as juicy storyline is revealed https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-shane-ritchie-to-return-to-walford-as-juicy-storyline-is-revealed/ https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-shane-ritchie-to-return-to-walford-as-juicy-storyline-is-revealed/#respond Thu, 22 Mar 2018 01:29:16 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-shane-ritchie-to-return-to-walford-as-juicy-storyline-is-revealed/

Shane Ritchie will reprise his role as Alfie Moon in the long-running BBC drama series EastEnders, according to reports.

The 54-year-old actor will allegedly make his comeback with his onscreen wife Jessie Wallace, 46, after a two-year absence from the show.

It is claimed writers convinced Shane to return to the soap with Jessie to please viewers who love watching the pair.

“With Kat’s comeback the writers knew viewers would ask when Alfie would be back too, so they’ve managed to convince Shane to return,” a source told The Sun.

“It won’t be long-term but he’ll play a role in a number of storylines in the coming months.”

But in an interview with ITV’s Lorraine Kelly Shane told the Scottish television presenter that he had “no plans” to return to EastEnders.

Meanwhile, Jessie, who plays Kat Slater in EastEnders, is expected to make her dramatic return tonight at The Queen Vic.

Kat will burst into the infamous pub in the middle of her own wake, shocking the likes of Big Mo Harris (played by Laila Morse), who pretended she had died.

A scheming Big Mo recently convinced Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) that Kat is dead and that they don’t have the money to pay for her funeral.

Holding a tissue to her nose, Big Mo blurted out the bad news to a distraught looking Stacey who walked in on the tearful matriarch.

Speaking of Big Mo’s cruel plan, soap star Laila teased: “Dear old Mo, she’s in a lot of trouble.

“She’s a very evil lady. If she was one of my relatives, I think I might do her in!”

The actress told Radio Times: “Mo doesn’t give a monkey’s what she does as long as she’s earning a few quid.

“She’d sell her own grandmother if she had one.”

Will Kat cut cunning Big Mo out of her life once she discovers what she has been up to in her absence?

Or could the Slater clan find a way to move past the troubles and tribulations that Big Mo has caused?

EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 7.30pm.

EastEnders spoilers: Karen Taylor’s EXPLOSIVE secret about Keanu’s dad Shane exposed https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-karen-taylors-explosive-secret-about-keanus-dad-shane-exposed/ https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-karen-taylors-explosive-secret-about-keanus-dad-shane-exposed/#respond Sun, 18 Mar 2018 17:54:33 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-karen-taylors-explosive-secret-about-keanus-dad-shane-exposed/

Little is known about Keanu’s (played by Danny Walters) dad, and there has rarely been a mention of the character since the Taylor and Baker family arrived in Walford.

However, Karen Taylor actress Lorraine Stanley revealed that the family will be plunged into turmoil after a family secret is exposed.

Karen explained the truth to Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) about her past, with Keegan (Zack Morris) eventually finding out that Shane attacked and almost killed her off-screen years ago.

Lorraine told how repercussions from the off-screen scenes will creep up in upcoming storylines.

Could Shane turn up in Albert Square in a shocking twist?

If so, Lorraine believes that there could be a huge threat against the Taylor family.

She said to OK!: “It’s something really dark that could change Keanu’s life forever if he finds out.

“If the secrets of the past are unleashed, trouble could turn up on his doorstep and there’s huge potential to threaten the Taylors.”

While a new actor could join the soap to fill the role of Shane, it has been confirmed by bosses that another character will leave.

Blue star Lee Ryan will be written out of the popular BBC soap after less than a year of playing his character Harry “Woody” Woodward.

Lee, 34, joined the soap in 2017 and made his first appearance on April 18.

The character was involved in various storylines while in Albert Square and was mainly linked with Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) and the rest of the Carter family.

Gaining a job as a barman at the Queen Vic, Woody was involved in the sale of the freehold to Weyland & Co.

He made his exit shortly after joining on May 19. However, he returned a month later in June 2017 and announced that he and Whitney (Shona McGarty) were engaged.

Woody was then offered a job in Spain as a barman and decided to accept. Worrying about breaking the news to his fiancée, Woody and Whitney initially argued before she eventually agreed – believing that he would return.

He later left a note saying that Whitney would be better in Walford and without him, and that he has left without her.

An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed Lee’s exit from the soap, saying: “We can confirm that Lee will be leaving EastEnders when his storyline concludes this spring.”

continues tomorrow on at 8pm.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Amanda Barrie defends Ann Widdecombe amid Shane J feud https://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-amanda-barrie-defends-ann-widdecombe-amid-shane-j-feud/ https://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-amanda-barrie-defends-ann-widdecombe-amid-shane-j-feud/#respond Wed, 31 Jan 2018 03:50:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/celebrity-big-brother-2018-amanda-barrie-defends-ann-widdecombe-amid-shane-j-feud/

The Coronation Street legend addressed reports of a rivalry between her and Shane J after becoming the third celebrity to be evicted from the Big Brother house during the semi-final.

Amanda spoke to Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On the Side host Rylan Clark-Neal about the status of her relationship with Shane after the pair exchanged words in the house.

Explaining why she defended Ann Widdecombe so fiercely during her time on the show, she said: “She looks quite hard, but she’s not, she has a soft centre.

“It was nothing to do with him [Shane J] I adore him, I love him. The thing was I get very protective of Ann. I don’t know, I had so many laughs with her it was ridiculous.

“I called her Widdecombe radio because I just switched her on. I just got on with her.”

Asked what she thought about Shane J, she replied: “I loved him. Everyone can have their own opinion. I just got a little protective because he didn’t know her.”

Meanwhile, fans of the show were shocked by the 82-year actress’ behaviour following her eviction, with many questioning what happened to her during her exit interview.

The soap star seemed to zone out during her discussion with host Emma Willis and on few occasions struggled to reply to questions.

Viewers at home were baffled by her behaviour during the interview and flocked to Twitter to air their concerns.

One wrote: “Is Amanda alright? #CBBAmanda #CBB,” while another added: “Seriously what is up with Amanda?”

A third moaned: “Frankly this is an irritating interview because of how weird she’s being #CBB.”

Others found the whole situation quite humorous, with one writing: “This interview is BRILLIANT!”

A second remarked: “I want a glass of whatever Amanda had! #cbb,” while another commented: “Gutted she’s gone she was pure TV gold!”

Elsewhere, Emma Willis dropped a bombshell when she revealed that all evicted housemates would be returning to the show.

Spilling all to Rylan, she said: “I’m told our evicted housemates – I assumed it was all of them – are returning to the house tomorrow to run tasks together and then they will have a big party.”

On Friday the winner of Celebrity Big Brother will be announced. Former politician Ann, 70, is the bookies favourite to win at odds of 6-4.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on Channel 5 at 9pm.

Paige Smith’s (played by Olympia Valance) youngster was snatched in the season finale leaving viewers desperate to know what happens to the favourite’s child.

When the soap returns in 2018, it seems that news has spread fast about the baby Gabe and doting boyfriend Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) sweeps in to save the day.

After the police officer gets a call revealing the identity of the criminal, he rushes to talk with her, promising not to alert the cops.

What greets him is Nurse Louise (Maria Theodorakis) who took Gabe and she is not willing to let him go until her demands are met.

But it’s not as straightforward as that, as she didn’t bring the baby with her, promising only to reveal his location once she has escaped with her wishlist.

However, her plans for money and a passport go awry as the police force rush in and catch her before she can make her escape.

Mark is furious as he tried to do it his way without the police, but worried dad Jack Callahan (Andrew James Morley) phoned them in secret.

The nurse is taken away and Paige and Jack come to loggerheads – can they come together to rescue baby Gabe before it’s too late?

Elsewhere in Erinsborough, it’s bad news for Shane Rebecchi (Nicholas Coghlan) who finds himself struck down in a brutal bike accident while trying to protect daughter Kirsha (Vani Dhir).

Following the fireworks accident that left her deaf, Kirsha is struggling to cope with her new way of living.

After shunning her dad’s attempts to learn Auslan – Australian Sign Language – she finds herself walking the streets.

She faces danger when young Jimmy Williams (Darcy Tadich) heads towards her on his bike and she can’t hear his warning calls.

Naturally, doting dad Shane steps in and falls head first to the ground.

Will Shane walk away unscathed from the accident?

Neighbours returns to Channel 5 on January 8 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm.

Shane Richie: My six best albums – Dean Friedman, Style Council and Babyface https://briefnews.eu/shane-richie-my-six-best-albums-dean-friedman-style-council-and-babyface/ https://briefnews.eu/shane-richie-my-six-best-albums-dean-friedman-style-council-and-babyface/#respond Fri, 10 Nov 2017 09:47:53 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/shane-richie-my-six-best-albums-dean-friedman-style-council-and-babyface/

He had a No2 hit, I’m Your Man, in 2003 and his album A Country Soul is out now.

DEAN FRIEDMAN: ‘Well, Well,’ Said The Rocking Chair (CD Baby) I remember hearing the title track on the radio.

Lyrically I thought it was so out there, talking to furniture, though it was more about being on your own.

I was really into words and Dean is a wordsmith.

To this day, I have a man-crush on him.

STYLE COUNCIL: Café Bleu (Polydor) Paul Weller tapped into that white-boy soul thing.

He was rapping then he’d do a bit of sweet song then there was an instrumental.

It was my introduction to jazz as well. My band learned to play Headstart For Happiness from this years ago.

HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH: Cracked Rear View (Warner) I was on tour in the States in the early Nineties and this band was played on every radio station.

I brought the album back to the UK and told people to listen to Darius Rucker’s voice.

Although it was pop-rock, it had a country undercurrent.

I covered the track Goodbye on my album.

BABYFACE: The Day (Epic) This is the heart of R&B and soul for me.

As a songwriter, he could reduce you to tears. I played this to death.

There’s a track called The Day (That You Gave Me A Son), where he talks about becoming a father for the first time, which is beautiful.

BILLY JOEL: An Innocent Man (Sony) I loved the throwback to Fifties’ doo-wop on the album.

I was working in Jersey as a stand-up comic with a band so took any opportunity to sing these songs in pubs and hotels.

I went to see him last year and was mesmerised by his showmanship.

GREGORY PORTER: Liquid Spirit (Decca) I first heard him on the Robert Elms show when I was doing EastEnders.

I thought, “If there is a God, this is what he sounds like.”

I persuaded producers to let us play one of his songs on the jukebox in the Queen Vic.

He heard it and we got pally.

I saw him at the Royal Albert Hall and sat there drooling.
