Nicola Sturgeon has been accused of deliberately trying to cause the UK Government “maximum embarassment” by setting her own coronavirus agenda. The Scottish First Minister was confronted over her decision to part ways with Boris Johnson‘s plans by ITV host Lorraine. Ms Sturgeon insisted that the only thing driving her plans was keeping people as safe as possible. The host asked: “It’s really interesting because you seem to be setting the agenda here. “You were with the UK Government at first, and now not following their lead while they do screeching U-turns on masks, exams, school meals over the summer. “Is that sort of the plan? To cause maximum embarassment to the UK Government?” The First Minister denied the accusation and insisted that “nothing could be further from her mind”. More to follow…
But should NCIS fans hold out hope for a flesh-and-blood return by the presumed-dead (but surely alive) Ziva David?
In a mid-February episode of the CBS drama, it was revealed that as an NCIS agent, Ziva would secretly follow up on cold cases while tucked away in a backyard shed she leased from a kindly woman. The tag of that episode planted a big seed in Agent Ellie Bishop’s head by strongly indicating that Ziva is alive (as previously hinted in Michael Weatherly’s final episode).
In the two months since, Bishop has been tug-tug-tugging at that storyline thread, oh-so-subtly taking digs at Gibbs for keeping secrets, or, in a more bizarre homage, trying to revive a sad plant found in Ziva’s secret cabin. That most recent C-story culminated in Bishop getting the landlady’s OK to use the cabin, seeing as Ziva paid its rent far in advance.
Can NCIS viewers expect Bishop to stay on Ziva’s scent?
“It’s such a great thread, I’d hate to leave it on the table,” co-showrunner Steve Binder told TVLine as part of our May Sweeps Preview Q&A. “But like anything, we don’t just want to tease the tease. If we do pull at it, we’re going to have something interesting behind it, and not just keep doing the same beat over and over again.”
But just how “interesting” could this subplot get? What could it possibly be building toward? As TVLine noted for the Binder and co-showrunner Frank Cardea, while Cote de Pablo might theoretically be available for an encore — despite having abruptly exited the series during its Summer 2013 hiatus, she told TVLine that if Ziva were alive, “Under the right circumstances, it could definitely be explored” — it’d be odd to bring back the former Mossad agent while true love Tony DiNozzo’s portrayer, Weatherly, is busy headlining another season of Bull (which admittedly remains on the renewal bubble).
“I don’t want to say ‘the sky’s the limit,’ but given that she’s been gone for years, there’s a lot that could have happened that could be fodder for us,” Binder allows, “even if she’s not necessarily present.”
“We’re always trying to think about what the audience wants to see, what we want to see, what makes sense, what’s interesting…,” Binder continues. “We’re talking about all of it, all of the time. And we’ll see what sticks.”

Two years ago the first Fantastic Beasts movie was set in New York City, while The Crimes of Grindelwald will mainly be set in Paris.
With three more movies in the franchise to go, it’s anyone’s guess which cities will be the focus of future sequels.
However, Rowling may have subtly revealed the setting of Fantastic Beasts 3.
Earlier this week she updated her Twitter header to feature a shot of a busy street.
One fan tweeted: “Jo, could you explain the header?”
The author replied: “It’s Rio da Janerio in the 1930s.”
Another fan replied: “OMG! Us Brazilians are freaking out right now. Are you preparing something for us?”
Rowling responded: “Let’s just say I really ought to be able to spell Rio de Janeiro properly, given how many times I’ve written/typed it in the last few months.”
So surely Rowling’s hinting at Fantastic Beasts 3 being set in 1930s Rio?
Of course, it’s possible she could be writing a separate novel or screenplay, although the most obvious candidate is the next book in her Strike series – although those stories are not set in that period.
Seeing as the five Fantastic Beasts films will span from 1926 to 1945 when Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in a duel, and the fact that the first two films are set in 1926 and 1927, it makes sense for the third film to take place at some point in the 1930s.
No doubt in the next few weeks an official reveal will be made by cast members or director David Yates. Meanwhile, the first reactions to Fantastic Beasts 2 have been overwhelmingly positive.
Johnny Depp, who only cameoed in the first film as the villainous Gellert Grindelwald, has a much more prominent role in the sequel.
Critics have praised his “outstanding performance”, with one calling it “perfection”.
Meanwhile, the visuals and action throughout the film have received high praise, with a number of fans retweeted by Rowling saying The Crimes of Grindelwald was better than Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be released in UK cinemas on November 16, 2018.

President Donald Trump on Saturday pushed back on reports that the White House was setting a number of restrictions on the FBI investigation into sexual-misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, his Supreme Court nominee.
“NBC News incorrectly reported (as usual) that I was limiting the FBI investigation of Judge Kavanaugh, and witnesses, only to certain people,” Trump tweeted. “Actually, I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion. Some Android users probably noticed some strange things happening with their phones over the last couple of days. Apps might have stopped updating in the background, location services maybe weren’t in use when your screen was locked, and your notifications were perhaps delayed. That’s because Google accidentally enabled the battery saver feature remotely on some phones running Android Pie, with the setting kicking in even on devices that were almost fully charged.
The company’s Pixel team wrote on Reddit Thursday that an internal test “was mistakenly rolled out to more users than intended.” Google has rolled back the battery saver setting to default for those who were affected, so you might have to enable it again if you prefer to have it switched on. Engadget has contacted Google for more details.
Among the devices that were reportedly affected were Google Pixel, OnePlus 6, Essential Phone and Nokia 7+ devices running Android Pie or its beta, according to Android Police. Google and Apple can remotely force updates or changes on Android and iOS devices to protect users in drastic situations. For instance, since the App Store launched a decade ago, Apple has had a way to disable harmful apps that somehow made it onto people’s iPhones.
Google might be thanking its lucky stars it only changed a relatively harmless battery saver setting on some phones, and not something that would cause users more severe problems. Still, those who were affected might have found the whole affair somewhat unnerving.

]]>One of the surprising benefits of having a small number of goals for the day is how frequently you find yourself accomplishing more. When you have a random number of tasks to complete each day, the likelihood is you will not get them all done. When you set yourself a small number of tasks to complete—your “must completes” for the day—and you restrict these to a set number, you are much more likely to get them done.
What do you want to accomplish this month? What do you want to accomplish this week? These questions focus you in on the things that are important to you. Most people are waiting for life to happen to them, after all, it is far easier to react to events around you than to create events around you. When you create the events in your life by having weekly and monthly goals that reflect your objectives for the year, you are going to get far more of your important work done.
Building your daily life around your goals is going to keep you on the path you want to follow.Without any goals directing you towards where you want to go, you will find yourself drifting off your desired path and aimlessly wandering through life wondering how you got to where you are. More often than not where you end up will not be where you want to be.
Every day throws up a lot of unexpected issues. These issues often come from our bosses, clients/customers and friends and family. It does not matter how well planned your day is, these things are going to happen. When you have a set number of goals to achieve each day, these issues will not hijack your day and destroy it. You will find you can handle the unexpected while continuing to get on with your important work for the day.
When you set goals, it means you have made a decision about what it is you want to achieve and what is important to you. This allows you to become a much more focused person because you are mindful of what you want.Focus, in today’s world, is a skill in short supply and by developing your focus you are going to put yourself way ahead of everyone else.
One of the best ways to accomplish more of your important tasks each day is to begin the day with a clear goal.It could be to complete a specific project or to simply get outside and walk for thirty minutes in nature. When you start the day with a specific goal to do something, you are much more likely to get it done.
If you have never had an outcome-orientated mindset, then begin will small steps.A simple goal to have each day, and a very healthy one, is to go for a thirty-minute walk.Another simple goal to set for the day is to choose one piece of work that you will complete that day, then focus all your attention on getting that work completed before you finish for the day. These pieces of completed work add up over time and you find you are getting far more done than you ever did before.
This is a great way to accomplish even the hardest of goals.Asking yourself this question really helps you discover what projects and work are important. This question is not focused on completing the goal. This question is all about making progress on the goal.Once you have completed that task, you will find the next step happens naturally. Before you know it, you have made a huge impact on your goal.
One of the biggest reasons why most people never achieve their goals is their goals seem impossible because of the time and effort required to achieve them. The best way to make even the most difficult goals achievable is to break them down into small manageable steps. Even the smallest of steps moves you forward towards achieving the goal.Just two or three little steps completed every day will, over time, take you towards where you want to be.Want to write a book? Writing 500 words per day will give you a 60,000-word manuscript in around ten months.
This one always works. Before you finish your day’s work, take ten minutes or so and decide what two things you will achieve the next day. This is what I call my “two objectives”.Once you have decided on your objectives, write down eight other tasks you want to complete the next day. These tasks I call my “focus tasks”.You then make sure that whatever gets thrown at you the next day, you will complete these ten tasks.Over a period of one month, you will have achieved around 300 meaningful tasks all related to your goals and important work.((Carl Pullein: PRODUCTIVITY MASTERY | The 2+8 Prioritisation System))
This one is the secret of all highly successful people. They know what work has the most impact on their life and business and what work does not.For example, checking email, while necessary, is not a major task. It does not move you forward in any meaningful way. Talking to your most important customer and reinforcing your strong relationship with them, that’s a major. One of the best examples I’ve heard comes from Brian Tracy. In his example, Brian says a salesperson doing work in the office is doing minor work. A salesperson talking with a customer is doing major work.Focus all your time and energies on your major work and reduce the time you spend on your minor work.
When you have goals, you feel obligated to do something about them. When you do not have a goal, you are much more likely to procrastinate and spend unproductive time thinking about what to do next.Goals give you clarity, goals give you purpose and when you have both clarity and purpose, you find you no longer procrastinate and you utilise your time much more effectively.
How you write the action steps related to your goals is important. If you have a goal that says “make an online course,” you will not achieve very much.Writing your action steps out such as “make progress on the online course outline” or “make five slides for online course” is specific and is going to lead to action and achievement.
When you see you are making progress on your goals every day, you will find you begin getting much more done. Momentum is created once you start and when momentum begins you find positive habits develop. Put momentum and motive together and you have the ingredients for massive progress towards your goals and your work.
Something amazing happens to our brains when we set ourselves goals. Having goals we are very clear about and determined to achieve gives our brains the necessary incentive to focus on getting the goal achieved. We have accountability to ourselves. That accountability gives us all the incentive we need to get the work done every day.
Parkinson’s Law states “work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”.When you have set goals to achieve each day and you begin the day with a review of what you want to get completed, Parkinson’s Law will take over. This means no matter what else gets thrown at you throughout the day, if you have set yourself a time you will finish your work for the day, you will find you will finish what you have planned for the day at that time. This one works brilliantly.
Having goals you are focused on each day develops a ‘can do’ mindset. When you have a strong ‘can do’ mindset and the discipline to focus on what you want to get accomplished each day, you find work you previously thought would take weeks and months to complete soon start being completed within hours or days.A great mindset and a strong work ethic, coupled with daily goals will make some very positive changes in your life. These 17 tips are just the start. When you begin focusing your daily activities on your goals instead of on your tasks, you will see an incredible transformation take place in your life.Your energy increases, you feel happier more often and you start to feel you are making progress on the things that are important to you which just leads to accomplishing more and more.

Enlarge / The Belgian government says these kinds of randomized in-game cards are a form of gambling. EA is standing firm in its disagreement.
In the months since the Belgian Gaming Commission determined that certain video game loot boxes constituted illegal gambling, publishers like Blizzard, Valve, and Take-Two have removed loot boxes from their games in the country. Electronic Arts, though, has yet to remove the randomized items from its recent FIFA games, a decision which seems poised to set up a court fight.
Machine-translated reports from Belgium’s Niewsblad and Metro newspapers suggest that Belgian gaming commission has now referred the matter to the country’s public prosecutor’s office, which is conducting an investigation into it.
Any such prosecution would then go before a judge, which may be a legal battle EA is looking for. In a May conference call, EA CFO Andrew Wilson stated the company’s position that the loot boxes in FIFA are not a form of gambling. That’s “firstly because players always receive a specified number of items in each pack, and secondly we don’t provide or authorize any way to cash out or sell items or virtual currency for real money,” Wilson said.

SMART goal setting is a goal setting method that considers certain factors about a goal relative to the person setting it. These factors are simply the five different letters in the SMART acronym. It is relative to the person setting the goal because what is true for A may not be true for B; or what is possible for A or within A’s ability to achieve may not be possible for B or within B’s ability to achieve. The acronym SMART can be broken down thus:
Is it possible that this acronym can make a long lasting impact in your life?Is it possible that a mere goal setting metric like SMART can help you achieve so many of your unfulfilled goals? Is it possible that if you practice SMART goal setting you would be able to have faster results, understand your goals better, overcome the habit of procrastination, and achieve a lot?The power to achieve your goals is in your hands. It is important to extend the enquiry by asking:
We all have goals and we all have twenty four hours at our disposal and no one has more or less of it. While some people find it easy to achieve their goals without procrastinating. some find it difficult doing so.For some people who have succeeded again and again in achieving their goals they have simply found out an easy way of doing this. Is there something they know that you don’t?
Through SMART goal setting, Stephen Cooley was able to grow his real estate business to the point of closing at $ 110 million in sales when the average price point of homes was between $ 100, 000 – $ 200, 000 in South Carolina.((BoomTown: Don’t Believe in Goal Setting? Then Listen to Stephen Cooley’s Team))Through SMART goal setting Steve Jobs was able to improve the fortunes of Apple and prevent the company from going bankrupt even when it had barely 90 days left before being declared bankrupt.SMART goals setting can make a lasting impact in your life:
When you use SMART goal setting it is easier for you to understand the various phases of your goal.By using SMART you’re able to ask yourself relevant questions pertaining to your goal.
When you use SMART goal setting and break down the goal into smaller goals or milestones, the bigger goal no longer looks intimidating or impossible.Jack Canfield, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul wrote in his book How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be about how they applied the rule of five in marketing their book, Chicken Soup and were able to make the book a best seller after some months. The rule of five simply means doing five specific things every day that will move you closer to achieving your goal.In order not to be overwhelmed too, you would have to measure your performance using the right metrics. Here we are considering the Measurable and Achievable aspects of the SMART acronym. It is critical that you measure yourself in terms of lead measures. What are lead measures? They are the things you do that leads you closer to your goals. On the other hand you would have to avoid “lag measures.”While lag measures mean a successful outcome that you wished for and got, they can be emotionally draining and deceitful because whenever they don’t happen, you can become discouraged and so leg measures do not necessarily mean that you are getting closer to your bigger goal.So it is better to stick to lead measures.
You can achieve more when you’re strategic with your goal setting task.To be strategic, your goal would have to be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time framed. If you can’t identify any of these points in your goal, you probably will be wasting your time on a wild goose chase. When your goals are written down, it’s easier for you to go into action mode.
Self improvement is an important thing for everyone to do periodically. When you set SMART goals, it makes you realize that you have to sit up and work on achieving them.
To make your SMART goal works, follow the following tips:
Every goal ought to be specific. It is important to guard against making vague goals because even when they are achieved you may not know. This is because you weren’t specific enough. For instance “I will start planning toward retirement” is vague. Rather than write that you could say, “I will start planning toward retirement by starting an annuity plan.” This is more specific. So when you are specific on your goal it’s easier for you to identify all its components and work accordingly toward achieving it.
Your goals must be measurable. When they are measurable, it’s easier for you to follow through.A goal like this is not measurable, “I want to make millions of Dollars.” You can make it more measurable by saying, “I want to make one million Dollars selling one hundred thousand copies of my book at ten Dollars each.”Also, using our example while explaining the Specific acronym, you can make the goal more measurable by saying, “I will start planning toward retirement by starting an annuity plan and saving $ 500 every month.”
How realistic or actionable is your goal? Is it practical enough to fit into a given time frame? Is it something you are able to achieve in your capacity?A man would only be setting himself up for failure if he sets goals that are not reasonable.A goal like this is highly unrealistic and therefore not achievable: “I want to be the Governor of Texas in six months” meanwhile the elections will be coming up in the next three years.Goals must be written down relative to the experiences of the one setting them. They must resonate with you. It is important that you have at least some of the resources needed to actualise this goal.It is also important that you consider your time frame. When the time frame to achieve a complex goal is too short it is rare that such goal will be actualised. Thus, using our previous example if you write “I want to make one million Dollars in ten days selling one hundred thousand copies of my book at ten Dollars each,” you would only be setting up yourself for failure. This is especially true if you’re not a popular author or if you’ve never sold even up to one thousand copies of any of your previous books whether e-copy or in print.
Before you proceed to making the commitment toward that goal you need think about how realistic it is.Being realistic means you should be willing to make all the commitments required for that goal to be achieved.
Every goal must have a commencement date and an end date written down. It is also important that you break down your goals into phases, chunks, bits, or milestones. The act of having deadlines set to your goals is ample motivation that drives you into action. Without a deadline, it is not possible for you to know if you’re making headway with your goals.“I will start planning toward retirement by starting an annuity plan and saving $ 500 every month for the next twenty five years” is a time framed goal.Remember that some goals are short term while some are long term. It is important to always bear this in mind because this will help you in making a clearer and realistic strategy for your SMART goal setting.Without SMART goal setting in view, much of our goals may likely end in our minds or on paper or just midway into implementation. SMART goal setting reveals to us all the action points of our goals and helps us to have an awareness of every aspect of our goals.
I could go on and on. What matters at the end of the day is what you do with the contents of this article because the power to achieve your goals is in your hands. It is not enough having a goal. It is not enough putting it down in writing. It is important having a strategy in mind while putting it down. This strategy is a guideline or set of rules that guide you. It is SMART goal setting in the given circumstance. After writing down your goals you would have to be ready to take action. There should be a clear action point. Write down what you need to do on daily, weekly, or monthly basis. As a matter of practice, it is important that you begin by putting down a single statement that captures best your goal. For instance, “I want to own a $ 200, 000 worth duplex by 1st of August, 2019.”Now, you can break this goal into smaller goals by saving $ 17, 000 per month for the next twelve months. You would have to ask yourself if this $ 17, 000 is within your reach on a monthly basis. If you make up to $ 25, 000 per month and you spend $ 5000 for monthly upkeep then it is possible setting aside $ 17, 000 every month for this purchase. When your goals are realistic, they make them worth the chase. One of the things to bear in mind is that in order not to be overwhelmed by the daunting nature of your goals remember to always break them into milestones, chunks, or bits. In fact, take one day at a time.Do not bother yourself with the one year, three year, five year or ten year plan as this may likely overwhelm you with fear and doubt. Let your focus be on each day. What will I be doing today? Consider this and go for it.
