A new gameplay trailer for Hitman 2 shows the crazy amount of improvisation you’ll be able to do in the game’s Miami level. While offering the standard gun/silencer murders, it also features our hero Agent 47 offing targets with with a pair of scissors, a large fish, a rock, wrench and a frying pan, while blowing up an (evil) car race winner right on the trophy podium.

The level, one of seven, takes place in sunny Miami during some kind of motorsports race. On top of getting a wide choice of weapons, you’ll be able to disguise yourself as a security guard, cop, first aid attendant, pit worker, mechanic and even a mascot to pull off your murderous mission. You can also slay with guns, either up close with a pistol or by sniping a driver right off the track. There are over 2,000 non-player characters (NPCs) on the Miami level alone.

Hitman 2 seems to have captured the inventive sandbox slaughter of the original, letting you play dress-up and hired killer at the same time. It arrives on PlayStation, Xbox and PC on November 13th, 2018, and if you pre-order it early, you’ll get to try out the Sniper Assassin mode for free.

Toronto police have confirmed that an alleged scissors attack on a schoolgirl’s hijab, which sparked widespread outrage including a public condemnation by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, was a hoax.

An 11-year-old girl claimed on Friday that a man twice tried to cut off her hijab as she walked to school with her brother. Police say the investigation is now concluded and “the events described in the original news release did not happen.” It’s still not clear why the girl reported the false incident.

The story captured national attention and was denounced by Prime Minister Trudeau, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Mayor John Tory.

The mayor responded to the clarification that the event never happened by saying: “It is good to know that this event didn’t happen. We all must remain vigilant in the fight against hate, racism, bigotry, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia to make sure our city remains an inclusive place.”

Police told CBC News that the girl who reported the incident will not face any legal consequences.

“These allegations were extremely serious and, not surprisingly, they received national and international attention,” police spokesman Mark Pugash said in an interview.

He added that it is “very unusual” for someone to make false allegations of this type and said he hopes it will not discourage others from coming forward.

The girl’s school, Pauline Johnson Junior Public School in Scarborough, contacted police after she told them about the incident. The Toronto District School Board then put her before the media on Friday to recount the matter.

The school board issued a release, Monday, saying it was happy the incident did not really happen, adding it would not be commenting further.

Airport security restrictions mean most people have had knives, scissors, or even everyday items like tweezers taken away from them after accidentally stowing them in hand luggage.

However, while it may be assumed these items might be tossed away as rubbish, this isn’t always the case.

In fact, confiscated items often end up being sold in shops or made into a display, according to a Quora user thread. 

This tends to depend on where your item is confiscated, as different countries have varying legislation on what can happen to confiscated items. 

“I can only speak for Texas but they have a store in Austin where they sell all the seized knives and other stuff,” wrote one user. 

The Transport Security Administration (TSA) sells confiscated goods in a number of states via government run auction websites, according to another user.

Other states in America, such as Georgia, appear to allow confiscated items to form airport displays.

One person revealed: “The Atlanta airport (ATL) used to have an impressive display in Concourse E filled with animal skins, bones, etc.

“It would be worth tens of thousands of dollars on the black market – stuff that people tried to bring into the USA illegally.”

However, European countries, such as Belgium, seem to have a more relaxed policy favouring the airport traveller.

“I know in my country (Belgium), they could keep seized items for you until your return,” said a Belgian Quora user.

“If I recall correctly, it cost about 12 euros at the time. This was at least a decade ago, so I don’t know if they still do it.”

However, it was revealed recently Canada will allow knives at airports after relaxing its country wide restrictions.

New rules from Transport Canada allow blades “up to six centimetres in length” to be carried in hand luggage. 

This, says the website, is “about the size of a large paper clip”, and will not be banned on domestic or international flights from the airport. 

However, those flying from Canada to the US will not be allowed to carry the blades, due to a security screening agreement between the two countries.

“Knife blades of any length will remain prohibited on flights to the United States through preclearance facilities,” says the website.
