One thing is clear, most fans want a fitting conclusion to the story of the Skywalkers in Episode 9. JJ Abrams has a daunting task ahead, especially with numerous reports Luke will return, as well as persistent rumours and leaks about his father, both as Anakin and Darth Vader. A new leak describes a potentially game-changing scene with Luke and Rey, dangerous Sith powers and a huge clue about who will finally bring balance to the Force.

As always, treat any such leaks with caution and the awareness that storyboarded scenes and artwork do not always make it to the final on screen movie.

The leak says: “A description of Luke Skyalker and Rey on a jungle world. In front of Rey, Luke has his hand raised with a kyber  crystal floating above the palm of his hand. The crystal is red like the one seen in The Last Jedi however it could be a different one. Though the one in the Last Kedi was a fragment, this is a full red kyber crystal. Rey is meditating on a rock as the red kyber crystal floats towards her and then falls into the palm of her hand. This could be Luke’s final lesson of constructing a lightsaber of her own.”

Luke, of course, only gave Rey two of the three promised lessons in The Last Jedi, but is he now introducing her to Sith Dark Side powers? This is what Snoke wanted. This is also an echo of Kylo Ren’s torment and Anakin/Vader before him.

Fans will remember the red crystal pendant from Episode 8 and it was definitely just a small shard with a Sith kyber crystal from the Old Repblic era. Luke, however, had a treasure trove of artefacts on Ahch-To and we already know Rey took the books from the Jedi temple, so she may also have salvaged more of Luke’s belongings.

Luke could also be contacting Rey from the other side and continuing to teach her and guide her to important hidden Jedi places in the galaxy where powerful texts and objects have been preserved.

As for the importance of this scene, every Jedi (and Sith) must build their own lightsaber as a rite of passage. There has been much chatter about Rey having a unique new lighsaber that possibly combines two colours.

The colour traditionally represents the user’s aptitudes and inclinations, although all Sith only have red blades. Surely Rey has not gone over to the Dark Side, so she will not be creating a purely Sith lightsaber.

This raises the possibility she may create a lightsaber that combines Lght and Dark Side crystals. There are rumours Luke’s missing green lighstaber will make a return, after the blue crystal was shattered at the end of The Last Jedi.

Imagine if somehow Vader’s red crystal survived that fall on the second Death Star. Combining the two Skywalker crystals in one weapon would be truly symbolic.

All Skywalkers feel the pull from both sides of the Force so this would also feed back into the original belief that Rey would turn out to be part of teh family at the core of the entire franchise..

Even if she is not, even if it is another red crystal, and indeed another light side crystal, the idea that Rey coud wield a weapon combining both sides of the Force would be the ultimate revelation that she is the Chosen One. It would also finally lay to rest the two sides of Anakin/Vader.

It is a tantalising idea.

EastEnders spoilers: Vincent Hubbard's money problems solved with THIS 'forgotten scene'? https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-vincent-hubbards-money-problems-solved-with-this-forgotten-scene/ https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-vincent-hubbards-money-problems-solved-with-this-forgotten-scene/#respond Fri, 13 Apr 2018 04:40:06 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-vincent-hubbards-money-problems-solved-with-this-forgotten-scene/

EastEnder fans have watched Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) struggle financially after handing over The Albert to Aidan Maguire (Patrick Bergin).

The father-of-one has been unable to pay off his mortgage since his deal with Walford gangster Aidan.

Fearful of what his wife may say, Vincent choose to keep it a secret from Kim Hubbard (Tameka Empson).

But he was forced to come clean to his partner after she found a repossession warning letter.

Scared of loosing his home, Vincent made the difficult decision to dip into his daughter’s savings account.

Since then, fans of the show have pointed out that Kim’s diamond ring, which Pearl hid in a DVD player, is still in the house.

However, Vincent has no clue the expensive piece of jewellery is still in his possession, as he accused Karen Taylor of stealing it at the time it went missing.

Will Vincent find the diamond ring and use it to sort out his financial issues?

Viewers have questioned the possibility of him discovering the ring, with one person tweeting: “#Eastenders Is anyone going to find that diamond ring Pearl hid in the DVD player or we are going to ignore it?”

Another added: ”Hasn’t he found Kim’s ring yet? Pearl put it in the CD player! #Eastenders.”

A third asked: ”Has Vincent or Kim found that ring that Pearl put in the DVD player yet? #EastEnders.”

A fourth penned: “Whatever happened to Pearl putting Vincent’s ring in the DVD player when Karen was cleaning?”

Last month Richard announced he was leaving EastEnders after serving four years on the long-running BBC programme.

Revealing his contract had not been renewed, he said: “There was no bad vibe between me and EastEnders [about] leaving.

“It just so happened that I came to the end of my contract and they weren’t going to renew it.”

In an interview with MC Harvey from So Solid Crew, he added: “When I came into EastEnders… I said if I get more than one year, I reckon I’m going to do three years… EastEnders is its [own] movie, I’m a character within it…

“My character within that movie had to leave.”

Richard, who joined the soap back in February 2015, will leave EastEnders this spring.

EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 8pm.

Melissa Gilbert: 'Oliver Stone made me do 'DIRTY sex scene' for HUMILIATING audition https://briefnews.eu/melissa-gilbert-oliver-stone-made-me-do-dirty-sex-scene-for-humiliating-audition/ https://briefnews.eu/melissa-gilbert-oliver-stone-made-me-do-dirty-sex-scene-for-humiliating-audition/#respond Fri, 24 Nov 2017 03:03:09 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/melissa-gilbert-oliver-stone-made-me-do-dirty-sex-scene-for-humiliating-audition/

The actress claimed that the powerful director “humiliated” her on purpose.

Gilbert is still most famous as little Laura Elizabeth Ingalls Wildersaid on Little House on the Prairie but reported a sordid scene a million miles away from that wholesome show.

She said she was left “in tears” after being forced to perform simulated graphic sexual acts in a scene created purely to enact a terrible form of revenge for a previous slight.

The audition was for the outrageous 1991 movie biopic The Doors starring Val Kilmer and involved “Gilbert crawling around on her hands and knees begging Kilmer’s character for sex, saying ‘Do me, baby.'”

Gilbert appeared on Andy Cohen’s radio show Radio Andy and made her sensational accusations as Hollywood continues to be rocked with numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse following the accusations made against Harvey Weinstein.

She said: ““I never really talked about it — and it was all because I had said something and embarrassed him publicly. He (Stone) wrote this special scene that he wanted me to do for him physically in the casting room, and it was humiliating and horrid.”

Apparently the director felt Gilbert had previously embarrassed him in a nightclub and used the opportunity for revenge. She added: “He got me back and it hurt.”

The scene described did not appear in the final cut, when Meg Ryan played the part of Doors frontman Jim Morrison’s girlfriend, Pamela Courson.

This appears to lend credence to Gilbert’s claims that the moment was engineered purely to punish and hurt her.

However, a version of the original script available online does contain the scene. This backs Stone’s rebuttal that no such scene was written purely for Gilbert’s audition.

In an official statement Oliver Stone replied to the accusation: “We auditioned dozens of actors for roles in The Doors and it was made clear from the outset that our film was going to be a raunchy, no-holds-barred rock ‘n’ roll movie.

“Anyone auditioning was told the scenes would be rehearsed and performed from a script, with my casting director, Risa Bramon Garcia, present throughout the process to ensure a safe environment for all actors who auditioned.”

Olympic hero Jan Hudec enters 'the final battle scene' https://briefnews.eu/olympic-hero-jan-hudec-enters-the-final-battle-scene/ https://briefnews.eu/olympic-hero-jan-hudec-enters-the-final-battle-scene/#respond Thu, 26 Oct 2017 19:42:37 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/olympic-hero-jan-hudec-enters-the-final-battle-scene/ In spring training for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games, Jan Hudec ripped around a turn on his first downhill run of the day.

The 2014 Olympic bronze medallist caught an edge, landed on his butt and skidded off the track onto the raw glacier below. His wayward skis dug into the crust, and he cartwheeled to a bloody stop.

The impact tweaked his knee, tore his rotator cuff and, for good measure, broke his index finger.

Five months after that epic tumble in the Austrian Alps, Hudec is coming off what he thinks are the 13th and 14th surgeries of his career (an arthroscopic procedure on his knee and rotator-cuff repair).

In truth, the battered 36-year-old Banff, Alta., product has lost count of the number of his visits to the operating room.

“This is like the final battle scene,” says Hudec, who left the Canadian ski team last year amid concerns about his health and a dispute over an estimated $ 35,000 to pay for a ski technician. “The hero either dies or is somehow, against all odds, victorious.

“Even surviving this battle, for me, will be victorious.”

Die another day

After the latest shoulder surgery in September, the doctor advised Hudec that he needed at least three months for the rotator cuff to settle down enough to ski at an elite level.

The PyeongChang Olympics are less than four months away, and Hudec needs World Cup and International Ski Federation (FIS) points to qualify to represent the country of his birth, the Czech Republic.

He initially planned to compete Nov. 25 and 26 in the men’s downhill and super-G World Cup openers in Lake Louise, Alta., but admits the chances are slim.

“I’m just taking it day to day and trying to get back in time,” says Hudec, who was just a baby when he fled the former Czechoslovakia with his parents in a homemade dinghy. “I’ve got new equipment and a broken body.

“It’s just been one thing after another for me in the last year or so.”

Hudec showed off the lucky loonie he buried at the super-G finish line in Sochi, where he won Olympic bronze in 2014, but a dispute with Alpine Canada that was partly over money has resulted in him now skiing for his native Czech Republic. (Adrian Wyld/Canadian Press)

But he warns against prematurely writing the obituary on his storied ski racing career.

“This isn’t my banquet speech,” says Hudec, who won downhill silver at the 2007 world championships in Sweden. “I don’t want to go to another Olympics just to hang out. I’ve been there and done that. I want to go there to accomplish something for the country I was born in.

“It’s been an uphill battle, but I still have a glimmer of hope that it’s doable.”

The final chapter

Keep in mind: Hudec has made a career of doing the seemingly undoable. Crippled by back pain, unable to even haul himself out of bed a month before the Sochi Games, he put down the run of his life and won a bronze medal in the super-G.

That marked Canada’s first visit to the Olympic alpine podium in 20 years.

“The odds are even more difficult now,” says Max Gartner, Hudec’s Calgary-based manager. “But if his body is co-operating, don’t count Jan out. Look at his history.

“He has a gift. He’s not your regular athlete. He has this amazing ability to zone in and deliver.”

If he can’t deliver in time for the Lake Louise World Cup, Hudec hopes to race on the Nor-Am circuit a few weeks later in Lake Louise and then in Panorama, B.C.

For a man who made a living beating the clock, time is now the enemy.

“In some ways, this is disheartening,” says Hudec, who also competed for Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Games. “I thought my last chapter of my ski career would be a little easier. I wasn’t expecting it to be like this.

“I’ve lived my whole life jumping over hurdles. That’s what I do. I show up. I fight.

“But this time, I’m trying to figure out whether this is really meant to be part of my path or if it’s a not-so-gentle guide to be on a different path.”

Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi LEAK: Snoke’s role and impact REVEALED? 'Tense Kylo Ren scene' https://briefnews.eu/star-wars-8-the-last-jedi-leak-snokes-role-and-impact-revealed-tense-kylo-ren-scene/ https://briefnews.eu/star-wars-8-the-last-jedi-leak-snokes-role-and-impact-revealed-tense-kylo-ren-scene/#respond Mon, 22 May 2017 15:40:08 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/star-wars-8-the-last-jedi-leak-snokes-role-and-impact-revealed-tense-kylo-ren-scene/

Much mystery surrounds the villainous Supreme Leader Snoke, who was introduced in 2015’s The Force Awakens.

Now theorist Mike Zeroh has revealed a leak on next instalment The Last Jedi, featuring claims by his Pinewood Studios source.

The information includes some interesting tit bits of Snoke’s role in Episode VIII and the CGI and puppeteering involved in bringing the baddie to life.

In his new YouTube video Zeroh says: “Snoke’s role’s in the film will be as significant as Palpatine’s in Return of the Jedi.

“Now we’re not specifically talking about screen time, we’re talking about how much of an impact he will have on the story. When you look at Palpatine, he really does have an impact in Return of the Jedi.

“He attacks Luke Skywalker with the Force lightening and him essentially torturing Luke is really what made Darth Vader snap out of it.

“I think that Snoke is going to have something similar in a sense, where it might not being a lot of screen time.

“But he’s definitely going to have more than in The Force Awakens, [with] a bigger impact on the plot.”

He continued: “Reportedly a very tense scene was filmed at Pinewood Studios in the UK between the [Snoke] suit and Adam Driver.

“Snoke’s black ring will have an importance to the film’s plot. Snoke’s scenes were shot at a location other than his throne room.

“So we do know Snoke has this Mega Star Destroyer of sorts in this film and within [it] is his throne room.

“We do know that the First Order invades Ahch-To, which is Luke’s planet, so the question is will Snoke actually land on Luke Skywalker’s planet?”

Zeroh added: “The puppeteer suit was performed in a scene as if he was attacking someone with rapid movements involved – as if Snoke was using some Force ability.

“What I’m gathering from all this – yes he is going to be this practical character.

“What I mean by that is it’s not going to be all CGI. It’s going to be a suit, it’s going to have some puppeteer work – most likely for his arms and for his head – and there’s going to be some CGI overlaying…mostly around his mouth.”

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 15, 2017.

Star Wars 8 LEAK 'Han Solo’s funeral turns into shocking shoot-out scene' in The Last Jedi https://briefnews.eu/star-wars-8-leak-han-solos-funeral-turns-into-shocking-shoot-out-scene-in-the-last-jedi/ https://briefnews.eu/star-wars-8-leak-han-solos-funeral-turns-into-shocking-shoot-out-scene-in-the-last-jedi/#respond Mon, 06 Mar 2017 11:29:46 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/star-wars-8-leak-han-solos-funeral-turns-into-shocking-shoot-out-scene-in-the-last-jedi/

Episode VIII has been filming in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in , following his death in The Force Awakens.

Now theorist Mike Zeroh has provided more details, pictures and footage in a new video.

It’s clear from the solemn scenes and smart black dress that characters are either paying respect to Harrison Ford’s iconic character or those who died at the hands of the Starkiller base in the last film – or both.

However, it looks like the procession will be disturbed after shots were captured of a shoot-out and chase scene.

Zeroh revealed: “There’s a speeder chase sequence [and} we see Imperial type…guards [who] are new characters.

“It seems to me this scene may possibly be a funeral shoot-out scene where everything is going good and great, they’re paying their respect…and then out of nowhere all hell breaks lose.

Zeroh added: “The fact that Finn is here too, tells me that much of the resistance is here as well.

“I think they are paying their respects to beloved character Han Solo and all of those who have been lost on the planets destroyed.”

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released December 15, 2017.
