BENTLEIGH GREENS 1-0 WELLINGTON PHOENIX
Marco Jankovic, son of former Real Madrid defender Milan Jankovic, scored the decisive goal in the 23rd minute handing new Nix coach Mark Rudan a disastrous debut.
James Kelly was sent off for a second bookable offence in the first half, leaving Bentleigh to see out the rest of the game with 10 men.
But the one man disadvantage hardly showed as the Victorian NPL powerhouse held on to secure a famous win at Kingston Heath.
HELLENIC ATHLETIC 3-4 WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS
The Wanderers narrowly avoided an upset when Roly Bonevacia struck deep into injury to give the visitors a 4-3 win over Hellenic.
Eyes were firmly fixed on Western Sydney’s clash with Hellenic in the Northern Territory as new boss Markus Babbel took charge for the first time.
But the dramatic match left more questions than answers, with the Wanderers’ defence virtually non-existent for much of it.
Still, they managed to snatch a result – ending the dream for Hellenic.
An own goal to Hellenic and a penalty saw the Wanderers storm to an early 2-0 lead, but the home side hit back twice to level the scores in the second half.
DEVONPORT CITY 3-1 NORTHCOTE CITY
Elsewhere, Tasmanian side Devonport City beat Northcote City 3-1. Two goals inside the first 15 minutes set the tone, with Northcote unable to get back into the game.
And it went from bad to worse for Northcote with Mancini shown red, before they managed to pull a goal back in the second half.
NEWCASTLE JETS 1-0 GOLD COAST UNITED
The Newcastle Jets easily beat Gold Coast United 1-0 courtesy of an early Nikolai Topor-Stanley goal.
The Jets had flown straight to the Gold Coast from their pre-season camp in Spain, shrugging off the effects of jetlag to finally register their maiden FFA Cup win in the tournament’s five-year history.
PERTH GLORY 0-1 MELBOURNE VICTORY
Kosta Barbarouses’ first half goal was enough for Victory in their all A-League clash with Perth Glory.
Victory withstood waves of attacks from the Glory, but the match ultimately ended in defeat for Perth’s Tony Popovic.
BRISBANE ROAR 0-1 MELBOURNE CITY
Just when a penalty shoot-out looked certain, Bruno Fornaroli struck in extra-time to give Melbourne City the win.
It was a sensational strike to end a dramatic night.
The match between Brisbane and City was halted for more than 30 minutes in the first half after Luke Brattan suffered a serious injury.
The City midfielder left the field in an ambulance with the exact details of his injury yet to be determined.

Just about everyone else thought he had played a blinder that night.
The 25-year-old battler from Brisbane accepted the good wishes, which tend to follow him around his home city like tennis kids trail Federer, but he was anguished that he had not converted a big opportunity into the win of his life.
Millman, with almost $ 1 million in prizemoney since and a best ranking of No.60, goes scalp hunting again at the Brisbane International today when he takes on world No.3 Grigor Dimitrov in the second round of the Brisbane International.
STUNNING: De Minaur upsets Milos Raonic
The Queenslander took a set off Andy Murray in 2013 at Rafter Arena, a set off Federer in 2015, and relished the noisy local support in the stands.
“This is when maybe they’re a tiny bit more vulnerable, the first match of the season (after a first-round bye), but we’ll see,’’ Millman said.
“Maybe he had the best pre-season ever and he comes out just blazing it.
“It’s become a bit of a tradition for me to play the top seed in the second round at Rafter Arena.
“I’m used to the surroundings. I train here when I’m in Brisbane and I hope to really make the Brisbane people proud and put together another memorable performance.’’
Millman, who missed five months of last season after groin surgery, worked his way back into tournament sharpness.
He made the third round of the US Open, beating Nick Kyrgios, and won his biggest title, in a $ 150,000 Vietnam tournament, to end 2017 ranked fourth among Australian men and No.124 in the world.
“Consistently, day in and day out, I feel like I’m playing better now (than in 2015),’’ he said.
“I played some of my better tennis that night (against Federer), but I’m actually really confident in my body and felt I moved exceptionally well.
“I’m really proud of the efforts and what I’ve made in the last 12 months, but I think the big thing is I’m just comfortable at this level now. I have positioned myself well to give it a really good crack with no points to defend for the first six months.’’
Dimitrov won a career-best four titles last year, including the Brisbane International and the year-end ATP Finals.
Millman has a 1-0 career edge over Dimitrov, but they have not played since a 2010 Challenger event in England when Dimitrov was A 19-year-old.
“I’d imagine he’d be pretty nervous going by that,’’ Millman quipped.
The 28-year-old Queenslander was able to terminate points impressively on Tuesday night in a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 win over Canadian Peter Polansky, ranked No.137.
Full-fat dairy foods – including cheese and cream – could increase dandruff in some individuals, said Philip Kingsley Trichologist Anabel Kingsley.
Wine and champagne are also flakey culprits, as well as spicy and sugary foods.
The foods increase the amount of cells being made by the body, and even just a little could cause scalps to flare up.
People eat more of these comfort foods during the cold winter season, said Kingsley.
“Certain foods that we seem to eat more of in winter can increase skin cell turnover, and therefore flaking on the scalp in susceptible individuals,” Kingsley told Express.co.uk.
“Foods like full-fat dairy products – cheese and cream – as well as white wine and champagne can worsen dandruff, so it can be helpful to avoid or limit these foods if you’re prone to a flaky scalp.
“A few clients will have a glass of white wine or a cheese plate and find their scalp flares the next day – the impact on the scalp environment can be that fast.”
Cheese is particularly good at instigating dandruff, she added.
At the other end of the scale, protein-rich foods are the best at reducing dandruff symptoms.
Hair needs at least 120g of protein for both breakfast and lunch to stay healthy, the trichologist said.
Eggs, fish, lean meats, poultry, low-fat cottage cheese and quinoa were all good choices.
Certain hair products may help to reduce symptoms, too, she claimed.
“Ferritin, which is stored iron, is very important,” said Kingsley.
“If hair doesn’t get enough ferritin, it can cause extra hair shedding. This is usually the case for females with heavy periods.
“Therefore, food sources high in iron such as red meat and green leafy vegetables are beneficial.”
About 11 million people in the UK have dandruff, according to estimates.
DANDRUFF could be made worse by some of the foods we eat, according to a hair and scalp expert. Cutting these winter comfort foods from your diet could lower your risk of a flakey scalp.![]()

Cricket: Former Australia batsman Mike Hussey says he would be ‘surprised’ if the match fixing allegations directed towards Australia are true.

STEVE Smith plans on crushing England’s slim hopes of retaining the Ashes urn before the end of this week, noting a whitewash is still very much on the horizon.
Smith feels Australia are beautifully positioned to claim the Ashes in Perth and that England may only be a handful of bad sessions away from defeat. But the Australian captain is reinforcing to his players that it’s not over until it’s over.
“For us, the message I’ve said to the boys is don’t get complacent.”
Rolling back the covers to a hard, fast and bouncy wicket could change Australia’s thinking this morning on the final Aussie XI but it is likely that Peter Handscomb will make way for all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.
The tourists have named an unchanged XI but are likely to tweak their batting order and elevate wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow to number six.
The game is set to get underway at 1:30pm (AEDT).

Prince Harry may have grown his beard to compensate for balding, says Harley Street surgeon Asim Shahmalak of Crown Clinic.
Dr Shahmalak, of Crown Clinic, said: “You can see there has been a significant deterioration in Harry’s hair over the last two years.
“He is developing an appreciable bald spot around his crown and the thinning towards the front of his hairline is accelerating. There are significant gaps in the cover right across the top of his scalp.
“If he does nothing he will go bald as his older brother over the next 10 years.”
He added: “It is very common for men who are thinning on top to grow a beard. It does detract a little for the hair loss in the scalp. Beards are also a sign of virility and men are often reassured by the fact that while they may be losing hair on top, it still grows well in other parts of their body.”
Prince Harry, 33, was in Nottingham today with his wife-to-be Meghan Markle, 36.
The stunning Suits actress wore a navy coat with a camel skirt underneath, making sure she wrapped up against the cold.
Prince Harry was wrapped up warm too, with a snuggly coat and a scarf, but some noticed something going on with Harry’s appearance.
One Twitter user wrote: “Prince Harry going bald is a national tragedy first William and now this.”
Thinning hair seems to run in the Royal Family, with Charles and William losing their hair.
It was even claimed Prince Harry could be bald by his wedding, which is scheduled for May.
Hair transplant surgeon Dr Thomy Kouremada-Zioga told Daily Star Online: “Harry will definitely lose more hair – he is in his early 30s and his hair loss is in progress. He will continue to lose hair until at least age 50.”
Prince Harry balding first appeared noticeably December 2015, almost two years ago.
The Prince, dressed in a blue winter coat smiled and waved to well-wishers as he joined the Queen, Kate, William and his father Charles at St Mary Magdalene for Sunday morning mass at Sandringham.
Images showed his hair was thinning on the crown, with some scalp visible below.
Jonny Harris, hair loss expert at the Belgravia Centre, London said: “Harry may have extremely thin hair by the time he his 50.”
Meghan and Harry in Nottingham will have a day at a World Aids Day charity fair hosted by the Terrence Higgins Trust.
The couple, who are due to marry at Windsor Castle in May, will then meet teachers at a nearby school.
Nottingham is important to Harry, and he spent time there meeting young people since 2013, when he was exploring issues around youth violence.
The prince’s communication’s secretary, Jason Knauf, said the prince was looking forward to introducing Ms Markle to a community that had “become very special to him”.

UFC: Rob Whittaker talks about his upcoming fight.

Yoel Romero is pumped ahead of his fight with Rob Whittaker.
YOEL Romero is the prize.
His existence, at least to Australian UFC fighter Rob Whittaker, is like one of those stuffed pandas strung along Sideshow Alley at a County Fair.
And with good reason.
“Dude’s a killer,’’ Whittaker tells you simply.
“So I want his scalp.

“It’s the reason I’m in this business.
“I’m here to be one of the best ever — to take over the world — and the only way to do that is fighting the toughest.”
Sitting on a stool inside the T-Mobile Arena, beside him a giant cardboard sign bearing his name, Whittaker is spending this UFC 213 media day taking questions on Aussie fight history, Brisbane boxer Jeff Horn, even that impending bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
Yet every time, he returns the conversation to that one constant: Romero.
So what if he wins Australia’s first UFC belt? Or guarantees a shot at regular middleweight champ Michael Bisping?
Hell, even the 26-year-old’s thoughts about the impending Mayweather-McGregor bout have progressed no further than “both guys get a ton of money”.

For again, his only thought, his only prize, is Romero.
That hulking Cuban middleweight who, apart from boasting a better rig than even those DC Superheroes scouring the nearby Las Vegas strip, is on a win streak stretching four years, eight fights and six brutal KOs — the most recent against no less than former middleweight champ Chris Weidman.
Put simply, Romero fights harder than his washboard stomach looks.
His powerful hands, too, accompanied by the type of showmanship that not only prompts a man to tear off his shirt during the Wednesday open workouts, but flex, shout praises to God and generally look every inch the the type of fella who, centuries ago, would’ve had virgins sacrificed in his honour.
Which is why even now, aged 40 and not long removed from a six-month USADA suspension, he remains favoured by many along press row.
Indeed, when taking questions during this particular media scrum, Whittaker is asked exactly how, err, concerned he is by the famed punching power of Romero?

UFC: Richie Vas and Breanna Holden preview Rob Whittaker’s historic interim title fight against Yoel Romero at UFC213.
A fighter who, having already won wrestling silver at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, now plans to bash up this Sydneysider on his way to UFC gold.
“But everyone I’ve fought hits hard,’’ Whittaker shrugs.
“He should be worried about my power too … it’s there.”
Isn’t it what?
Just don’t expect the man himself to elaborate.
For while Romero lost his shirt, and very nearly his mind, during the open workouts, Whittaker simply threw combinations, smiled sheepishly and then departed back to his room to play video games.
Just as through these 40 minutes of questioning, he refuses to be drawn on Mayweather/McGregor, fighting Bisping or doubling down on Horn’s upset win against Manny Pacquiao.

Yes, Whittaker says, he would like to be the Aussie who wins that first UFC title, albeit an interim one.
“But more than that, I’d like to be the Australian who beats Yoel Romero,” he adds hastily.
“And I hope he brings the best Yoel Romero the UFC has ever seen.
“That’s the guy I want to fight. The fighter that excites me and has all my attention.
“If I was being paid to fight Yoel Romero down at the pub, that’s where I’d fight him.
“I only have the one job.”

Arsenal drew 2-2 with Manchester City this afternoon after a number of fans had staged a protest against the manager.
Arsene Wenger, into his 21st year in charge of Arsenal, has refused to reveal whether or not he will stay past the summer, when his current contract is due to expire.
“I love this club. I don’t know how long I will be here,” he said after the match.
“I am clear in my head, that’s the most important thing.
“The decision will be soon.
“We are in a tough battle for the top four.
“I am professional and I have shown great loyalty in the past.”
Manchester City took an early lead at the Emirates when Leroy Sane rounded goalkeeper David Opsina on four minutes.
And while Theo Walcott scored on 40 minutes, City hit back immediately with a low Sergio Aguero drive.
Shkodran Mustafi’s header after the break ensured the points were shared and Wenger admitted his side needed a win to boost their top-four hopes.
“You could see we started very nervous, under pressure, and you can see that it had a big impact on our fluency,” he said.
“Strong mental resources, refusing to lose the game, you could see the team was ready for the fight eventually. On the mental front it was a very strong performance, and on a technical front I think we could do better.
“But at the end of the day, when you come out of a few disappointing results and play a big game, the first priority is not to lose.”
He added: “Mathematically a draw is not the best solution for both teams but it is a point which will help us.”
As for City, manager Pep Guardiola was left to rue missed chances as his side failed to make significant ground on league leaders Chelsea.
Kevin de Bruyne hit the post and Fernandinho had a shot well saved as City had the better of the chances at the Emirates.
The draw means City are 12 points off Chelsea heading into Wednesday’s clash at Stamford Bridge.
And Guardiola is confident his side can get three points next time they’re in the capital.
“We play against a team who is stable in what they do. We don’t have too much time to prepare but we go back to Manchester now and recover and then come back to London,” he said.
City had a claim for a penalty late on when the ball appeared to make contact with Nacho Monreal’s arm.
“I know this referee because we have had him before but I don’t want to discuss the penalty,” was Guardiola’s response when asked about referee Andre Marriner’s refusal to award a penalty.
Discussing the game, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss added: “They were better in the second half, but it’s OK, time to improve.
“We didn’t play in the first half, after the goal we forgot to play, the desire went. In the second half we played more. We suffered a lot in the first half because we did not make those passes together.”
Dr Ranj and Dr Sara Kayat joined This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to give the callers a second opinion on their health concerns.
Laila called the GP to talk about her scalp, which she described as ‘extremely flaky’.
She said shampoos aren’t easing the symptoms of the condition and sought advice from the GPs.
Dr Ranj said Laila could be suffering with psoriasis.
He said: “It usually occurs on the arms and the trunk or the legs.
“A lot of people have scalp problems.
“Some people that have scalp psoriasis can try their treatments can move them around, as prolonged treatment can mean some shampoos will stop working.”
Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterised by thick, flaking patches of skin.
These patches normally appear on elbows, knees, scalp and lower back, but can appear anywhere on the body. Most people are only affected with small patches but the skin can become itchy or sore.
Intense itching of the scalp can affect sleep and everyday life – and it can lead to hair loss.
Psoriasis occurs due to an over-reaction of the immune system, which causes inflammation and rapid growth of skin cells.
Skin cells are normally made and replaced every three to four weeks, but in psoriasis this process only lasts about three to seven days.
NHS Choices said psoriasis affects around 2 per cent of people in the UK. It can start at any age, but most often develops in adults under 35 years old.
The GP said people can go to their GP to try different creams.
Vitamin D, which people can get from the sun, is it vital for bone health as well as obesity and diabetes, but it can also help with psoriasis.
“The other thing I will say is some people find sunlight is beneficial,” he said.
“If itch is a problem, control stress as much as you can,” he said.
NHS Choices said: “In most cases, the first treatment used will be a topical treatment, such as vitamin D analogues or topical corticosteroids. Topical treatments are creams and ointments applied to the skin.”
