BBC Breakfast was hosted by Louise Minchin and Charlie Stayt and the latter was filling in for Dan Walker who was absent from presenting duties due to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief. Viewers tuned in to see him on a live video link from Tanzania where he was joined by Shirley Ballas and Osi Umenyiora. “Normally they’ve got a question in the studio,” Dan explained to the other celebrities, and joked: “I’ll answer the question they’re all thinking about at home at the moment, Shirley is five foot two by the way. OK, but if you’ve got a question I can put it to one of these two guys.” Louise then asked her co-star: “I think the question is, what has been the toughest thing so far Dan?” Whilst Shirley and Osi explained first, Dan then surprised viewers with his answer. “For me it was definitely those two hours of altitude sickness, just to show how it affected me I genuinely lost my memory, I lost about an hour of the day. “Apparently I told Jade [Thirlwall] from Little Mix that she was a rubbish singer! I have no memory, I have no memory of that!” He revealed laughing and clarifying it was down to the effects of altitude he was experiencing. “And we shared a moment at the top where she really looked after me, and she gave me a strawberry lace. We’ll always have that moment whatever happens,” he concluded. It comes after Dan expressed he “had a bad day yesterday” due to suffering from altitude sickness. “It was a bit serious the altitude sickness wasn’t it,” Dan remarked to which Shirley and Osi agreed. “It just hit me from absolutely nowhere. “Anita [Rani] was down the day before that as well, and it came to the point where if I got any worse, I think I would have been going home. “But the great thing about this trip is the nine of us have just bonded incredibly,” he continued. Joining Dan, Shirley and Osi on the climb is former MP Ed Balls, Love Island 2018 winner Dani Dyer, and Pointless host Alexander Armstrong. The nine celebrities are taking part in Kilimanjaro: The Return, where they are attempting to tackle Africa’s highest mountain. Over the course of eight days, they will trek up 5,895 metres, braving tough terrain, high altitudes and potential illness, all to raise awareness and funds for Comic Relief. Elsewhere on BBC Breakfast, whilst Dan is busy climbing the mountain, Charlie has been distracting viewers. Yesterday Louise had to apologise to those watching at home for Charlie breaking part of the set. During Steph McGovern’s business report, Charlie was fiddling around with his computer mouse on the other side of the studio. When the camera returned to them, he had to comment on the mishap and apologise which left Louise laughing. BBC Breakfast airs every morning at 6am on BBC One.
The opening Test in Adelaide was the first at home for Australia since the cheating row blew up in South Africa last March, leading to bans for then skipper Steve Smith and his deputy David Warner.
A scathing review into the scandal criticised Australian cricketers for “playing the mongrel” against opponents and in response the team produced a players’ pact vowing to tone down their infamous abrasive attitude.

Both teams shook hands before and after the match as a mark of respect and Paine said his team showed you didn’t have to “carry on like a pork chop” to be competitive in a match that went to the wire.
India eventually won by 31 runs on the fifth day to take momentum into the next Test in Perth starting Friday.
“We played in good spirits. I don’t know about the Indians, we didn’t pay attention to them and we won’t be for the whole series,” he said Monday.
“We can only concentrate on the brand and the style of cricket that we want to play.
“From a cricket point of view, we have some areas to tighten up and I thought today was a nice snapshot of how we want to go about it.
“We fought really hard and never gave up, and you don’t have to talk rubbish and carry on a like a pork chop to prove that.”
The Australians came face-to-face in Adelaide with famously combative Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who thrives on the verbal banter and has never been shy of riling the opposition.
But while he celebrated wickets enthusiastically, there were few, if any, niggles between the teams during the highly competitive game.
Paine pointed to the experienced foursome of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon as showing the type of never-say-die, but fair, commitment he wants in the team.
They all bowled consistently and for long periods, and added valuable runs on Monday in the improbable chase of a winning target of 323, eventually going down by 31 runs.
“Our whole bowling attack, your see those four together and you can see how much it means to them playing for Australia, whether they’ve got the bat, ball or in the field,” he said.
“You can’t question their commitment. They have a red hot crack every single ball.
“That’s what we’re building to, that’s the style of cricket we want to play.
“They’re obviously some of our more experienced players and I think the more they do that the more it will rub off on the rest of the group. I couldn’t question any of those guys.”
French newspaper L’Equipe published an article late on Friday night suggesting the Ligue 1 giants are considering cashing in on one of their stars to avoid breaking UEFA regulations.

The 2017 signing of Neymar and Mbappe raised eyebrows across Europe give the investment in both was close to £380million.
And UEFA are understood to be looking closely at the French club’s business model to ensure they are not skirting around the rules over FFP.
But within minutes of the article being published, PSG took the unusual step of publishing a stinging denial of the claims.
And they went on to accuse the newspaper, the biggest sports title in France, of waging a deliberate campaign against them.
The statement said: “In an article published this Friday night on its website, L’Equipe dares to state that ‘PSG is ready to lose Kylian Mbappé or Neymar Jr to avoid sanctions (financial fair play)’ …
“Beyond denying with the utmost firmness these claims totally erroneous, ridiculous and only likely to recreate a climate of great tensions between the Club and this media, Paris Saint-Germain wonders, once more, on the L’Equipe’s intellectual honesty and the ulterior motives of its editorial line concerning Paris Saint-Germain.
“Examples abound of a treatment devoid of equilibrium and which aims only to spread a deleterious atmosphere.
“Last example to date, last Wednesday, the day of the match in Strasbourg, with a “one” that claimed to sell a so-called “malaise Cavani”.
“In passing, in view of the colossal number of “ones” devoted to it every year by the sports daily, a sign of its extremely popular dimension,
“Paris Saint-Germain invites its community – supporters, partners, former players … – to gather more than ever around the Red and Blue jersey, its players and values and ambitions that the Club will always carry with pride.
“The massive support of our fans on the social networks and in our stands nourish the strength of Neymar Jr, Cavani, Mbappé and all our players.
“Faced with the misinformation orchestrated by L’Equipe, and its relentless attempt to undermine its image, Paris Saint-Germain, the most popular and most successful club in France, reaffirms its desire to move forward and dialogue only with interlocutors in good faith.”

Nikki (played by Emilia Fox) became embroiled in a nail-biting situation after a night of steamy passion with her date, the American Matt Garcia (Michael Landes) in tonight’s episode of the BBC series.
The pair met through a complex series of murders that began with an important figure who had been visiting for the American Embassy.
As sparks flew, Nikki tentatively agreed to Matt’s flirtatious advances which ended up with her going on a fully-fledged date with him.
Instead of going out however, the couple stayed in at Matt’s enormous gated mansion before ending up in bed together.
When Nikki woke up to go to the bathroom, the atmosphere suddenly changed and the character found herself trapped in the bathroom as muffled sounds of an altercation could be heard outside the door.
As the reality of the situation dawned, Nikki desperately tried to open the door but found herself completely stuck.
Yet as the latch suddenly became free, Nikki pulled the door open and a chair that had been lodged underneath fell through.
Baffled at the scene, viewers took to Twitter to debate the “unrealistic” plot device.
“I’m not sure the chair would have stopped the door from opening? #SilentWitness,” one person questioned.
Another slammed: “Why put a chair against a door that opens inwards? #SilentWitness.”
“#SilentWitness so does Matt not have any security at that house?” a third wondered.
A fourth complained: “Oh well. So much for Matt. So much for the Secret Service who would have been about. So much for bigger holes than usual plot #SilentWitness,” followed by: “Dr Nikki Alexander Locked in a bathroom with a chair lent up against a pull door!!! This series has been poor #SilentWitness.”
Fans continued to criticised the normally sharp series, as one person wrote: “What’s happened to #SilentWitness? Nowhere near as exciting as it used to be and it’s become all about how much danger Nikki can get into. So unrealistic.”
“#SilentWitness: She’s locked in the bathroom but finally manages to pull the door open and the chair wedging it closed falls over. Absolute rubbish!! You can’t wedge a door closed from the outside if it opens inward,” another added.
Silent Witness continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.
WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM BANCROFT EPISODE FOUR
Twitter was inundated by shocked users as Elizabeth Bancroft (played Sarah Parish) seemingly got away with a brutal murder and even got promoted in the process.
The ITV drama, which was aired over four consecutive nights, failed to bring justice to the policewoman, who was being investigated by her colleague Katherine Stevens (Faye Marsay).
Many were left asking if a second series was on the cards, after it ended with Katherine lying in hospital after being shot by the truly evil superintendent.
However, Elizabeth’s motive to stab pregnant Laura Fraser (Lily Sacofsky) was finally exposed, as the pair were having an affair until the latter told her it was all over.
Two users tweeted: “Well that was a totally s**t ending to the four-part drama series #Bancroft,” and: “What a totally rubbish ending! She got away with it… #Bancroft.”
“Just invested four nights in #Bancroft for a really disappointing ending. Why can’t they ever just end a good story properly?” a third asked.
Others agreed: “Well disappointed with how #Bancroft ended. She basically got away with murder. Not happy at all. #itv,” and: “C’mon @ITV, really? #Bancroft.”
A fourth went on: “Sorry @ITV, did I blink and miss something? Hardly wrapped up #Bancroft to a satisfactory end! Is Stephens alive? Where was the justice? Poor!”
Meanwhile, others had been left gobsmacked at Elizabeth’s attempts to kill Katherine while on a guns bust earlier in the instalment.
“#Bancroft well well well did not expected that,” one person stated, as another went on: “Wasn’t sure at first but #Bancroft gets better every night – final episode is AMAZING.”
“#Bancroft s**t half an hour to conclude it all. Best episode by far tonight,” someone else added.
Google Maps is a useful tool for those looking to get to know a neighbourhood.
However, in this case, users may wish it didn’t work so well – revealing the terrifying possibility of deadly crime.
Viewed from afar, this rubbish bin scene looks relatively normal: simply a pile of overflowing litter.
However, up close, it resembles something more spooky altogether: a pile of human bodies.
The footage shows limbs spilling out from the bins, with a torso laid out across one bin.
Another figure lays face down on the ground, legs crossed.
If you were to stumble on this scene on the street, it looks exactly like a mass murder has occurred.
It is as if a number of human bodies have simply been discarded in the rubbish bin.
However, upon closer inspection, it is clear these “bodies” are indeed very life like human figures, or shop mannequins.
This is evident from a number of seams visible on the head of the lying down figure.
There is also no sign of blood or anything that would suggest a terrible crime – although the surrounding area is heavily graffitied.
Whoever placed them there must have had a sense of humour, as one figure has its arms raised up as if in motion.
Recently, Google Maps revealed a suspected UFO landing pad in Krakow, Poland.
The site was made up of a huge based with round domed huts – which looked creepily like alien territory.
However, like the human figures, it was revealed to be something totally different upon further inspection.
In fact it was the Alvernia Studios, which are used for films as well as video game features and music projects.
As the world struggles to find new alternatives to fossil fuels, many new inventions such as electric cars and recyclable materials are being tried instead.
However, some vehicles could soon even run on rubbish, which includes planes and lorries.
The Department for Transport (DfT) is funding UK projects to create fuel made from waste for aircrafts, offering £22 million.
It could soon change the way in which fuel is used in long haul travel.
The idea of using fuel made from sustainable waste has already been trialled in Europe and North America.
It is hoped that planes could use up to 90 per cent less carbon when using this form of fuel as opposed to traditional fossil fuels.
Seventy groups have already been reported to be bidding for the funding from DtF.
They even claim that by using this alternative fuel, £600 million could be added to the British economy in the next decade.
Jesse Norman, Transport minister commented on what the new scheme could mean for the transport industry.
She said: “We are committed to cutting carbon emissions and promoting new environmentally friendly fuels that will help us meet that goal.
“We are making funding available to innovative businesses, which will lead the way in developing alternative fuels that are efficient, sustainable and clean.
“We want every new car and van in the UK to be zero-emission by 2040, but we know lorries and airplanes will rely on more traditional fuels for years to come, so we must promote environmentally friendly alternatives.”
In a clip uploaded to Imgur, a black jeep can be seen stopping as it pulls out of a car park.
The window winds down, and a hand pops out to drop a brown paper bag on the ground.
The video cuts to show a motorcyclist parking next to the brown paper bag before picking it up.
In the next frame, the motorcyclist can be seen tapping on the window of the jeep after he has ridden to catch up with it.
Confused, the driver winds down the window – but soon regrets doing so.
The motorcyclist had been hiding the brown paper bag out of sight of the driver, but once the window is down, he hurls the milkshake from inside and the bag at the shocked looking driver, covering her in her rubbish.
The motorcyclist then speeds off, leaving the driver to deal with his rubbish correctly.
The clip has gone viral online, with nearly 9000 views and many comments.
One commenter said: “Honestly though. Why do people do this? Who throws f****** trash on the ground?”
Another wrote: “I used to know somebody who justified this by saying he was creating jobs.”
And one person revealed: “I drive around the city all day for work and I see this all the time.”
The motorcyclist serving instant justice to the littering driver comes as another person failing in their civic duty also suffered instant karma.
Video footage uploaded to Facebook reveals the moment a man decided to urinate in the street – and the punishment he received afterwards.
The CCTV clip begins with the man shuffling around on the pavement, looking around, and checking his phone.
After coming out from behind a parked motorbike, it becomes apparent he’s holding his crotch area with one hand, and is desperate to use the toilet.
But with no toilets nearby the man is forced to go elsewhere – but the decision he makes on where to go is swiftly reprimanded.
