Strictly Come Dancing is heading into musicals week as the contestants take on the 11th stage of the competition. The end is near and while the celebrities have been training hard, the pros have also been working on something rather special for their opening performance. In true musical style, the celebrities partner’s will be dancing to the iconic Hello Dolly, on the BBC show. And, Kevin Clifton and Anton Du Beke will not just be showing off their dancing techniques – but they’ll be singing too! On Thursday night’s instalment of It Takes Two with Zoe Ball, the host gave viewers a sneak preview of what’s to come on Saturday night’s live show. Zoe herself looked pretty excited as she introduced the footage, unable to hide a cheeky grin as she said: “Oo, it’s good!” The video opened with Anton singing before Kevin came in with a louder note. “Easy tiger,” Anton rolled his eyes as Kevin giggled. READ MORE: Strictly 2019: Anton and Emma haven’t danced Latin for 4 weeks Olivier award-winning choreographer Bill Deamer, has been putting the pros through their paces this week as they train for his “biggest” musical ever done on a Strictly live show. “This is one of the biggest musicals I’ve ever worked on on Strictly,” he admitted. “I’ve done quite a few, but this is huge.” And, it seems the pros think the same. “This has to be the most complex of dances we’ve done on Strictly in terms of steps and timings,” Aljaž Škorjanec confessed. “There is so much going on in this routine,” Luba Mushtuk added. However it seems like Anton has a little more work do before the big performance, that’s in less than two days. “You’re going to sort of teach me a few things and show me the world,” Kevin suggested to his singing counterpart. Taking his partners words seriously, Anton began singing the opening of their duet: “Out there,” he sang before stopping. “What’s out there?” Kevin listened intently while they both looked out into the distance, pretending they were acting in the West End. There was as short pause before Anton confessed: “I don’t know, I can’t remember the second line.” Kevin roared with laughter as his fellow dancer looked worriedly into the camera lens. Hopefully he’ll have learnt the tune by Saturday! But we are yet to find out who will play the main character, Dolly, in the musical tribute, as Bill is keeping it very much under wraps until the weekend. “I’ve always had a vision of doing Hello Dolly on Strictly,” he said. “The question is, who’s going to be Dolly in our version? I’m not telling you!” Well, viewers don’t have long to wait as the big performance is only a matter of hours away! Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC.

Goodgame Studios founders Kai and Christian Wawrzinek will give up their positions of CEO and chief strategy officer next February. Read More

Harry Potter” has become one of the most influential film franchises ever produced for more reasons than one. The movies successfully captured J.K. Rowling’s beloved series of novels on screen and provided an essential part of the childhoods of many in the process.
However, in addition to all of this, the movie franchise also made the careers of many British stars. Children and adult actors alike were showered with public attention due to their roles in these films and raised to A-list status.
Not everyone who was offered a role in the “Harry Potter” universe wanted to be a part of the esteemed franchise, though. Given how popular and loved the “Harry Potter” movies are, a surprising amount of actors turned down opportunities to be a member of Rowling’s world.
This list covers actors who were offered roles in the movie of the “Harry Potter” universe, from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” to the latest “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” From A-list stars to lesser-known actors, chances are these performers who refused their roles might now be regretting their choice to pass on being part of one of the most cherished movie franchises ever.
Imagine what could have been with this list of actors who nearly became members of the wizarding world.
Here are the 15 actors you never knew turned down roles in “Harry Potter.”

The character Narcissa Malfoy, wife to Lucius Malfoy and mother to Draco, is a complex one. Chilling, reserved, yet still emotional, the role of Narcissa called for a talented actress.
Filmmakers for the final installments of the “Harry Potter” franchise recognized this fact, and started browsing through the best of the best English actresses to fill the part. Naturally, Naomi Watts quickly came up as one route the producers could take with the character.
However, Watts never caught wind of the offer. Instead, her agent rejected the role on the actress’ behalf. The role of Narcissa ended up going to Helen McRory, who brought her own entertaining flair to the character.
Still, seeing Watts’ own interpretation of Draco’s mother would’ve been an interesting addition to the films.

Christopher Lee’s filmography is chock full of impressive roles. Besides his roles in films such as “The Curse of Frankenstein” and “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” Lee also had major roles in some of the largest franchises ever made.
Some of his most popular roles were Saruman in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” films and Count Dooku in George Lucas’ “Star Wars” prequels. At one point, “Harry Potter” was almost added to this long list of memorable films.
Following Richard Harris’ death after “The Chamber of Secrets,” producers began to scramble to fill the role of Dumbledore for the franchise’s next installment. Christopher Lee’s name quickly rose to the top of the list of possibilities.
However, Lee refused to even consider the part, claiming that the gossip surrounding the part after Harris’ death was distasteful. The drama surrounding Dumbledore’s casting would put him off from ever acting in the franchise.

With her bold and unusual style, exceptional screen presence, and impressive acting skills, Tilda Swinton seems like the perfect choice for casting a “Harry Potter” role. Unfortunately, the actress didn’t feel the same way.
When Swinton was approached to play the quirky Divination professor Sybill Trelawney, she passed on the role due to a busy schedule. After some time, however, the truth came out in an interview with a Scottish magazine.
In the interview, Swinton revealed her resentment towards boarding schools and the isolation that they force on children, going on to say that she “[disliked] films like “Harry Potter” which tend to romanticize such places. I think they are a very cruel setting in which to grow up and I don’t feel children benefit from that type of education.”
One thing’s for certain: Swinton’s reasons for passing on “Harry Potter” are certainly one of the most unique.

Stop the presses, there’s been a Catch-22 casting shakeup! But as far as shakeups go, this one is fairly pleasant. Kyle Chandler has joined the cast of the Hulu adaptation, taking over a role previously inhabited by producer George Clooney. Clooney, meanwhile, has decided to take on a different part entirely.
Hulu and George Clooney’s adaptation of Joseph Heller’s Catch-22 has a new Colonel Cathcart. Friday Night Lights and Bloodline actor Kyle Chandler will take over the part of Cathcart, described as a “squadron’s commanding colonel, who wants to be a general, he keeps raising the number of missions needed to complete a tour of duty. Cathcart has a fear of failure while yearning for success.” This was a part that Clooney was originally going to play himself, but Deadline reports that Clooney will now play a character named Scheisskopf. This is a much smaller part, which will give Clooney more time to focus on directing and producing the limited series.
Catch-22 is based on the acclaimed, satirical Joseph Heller novel about an Air Force pilot’s madcap struggles set against the backdrop of World War II. In addition to Clooney and Chandler, the series stars It Comes At Night‘s Christopher Abbott and House‘s Hugh Laurie. The Hulu adaptation is being written by Luke Davies and David Michôd, with Clooney and producing partner Grant Heslov both producing and directing the series. Here’s the series synopsis.
Based on Joseph Heller’s seminal novel of the same name, Catch-22 is the story of the incomparable, artful dodger, Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a US Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he’ll be in violation of Catch-22, a hilariously sinister bureaucratic rule which specifies that a concern for one’s own safety in the face of dangers which are real and immediate is the process of a rational mind; a man is considered insane if he willingly continues to fly dangerous combat missions, but a request to be removed from duty is evidence of sanity and therefore makes him ineligible to be relieved from duty.
This cast is shaping up nicely. Clooney, Chandler, Abbott and Laurie are all very good actors, and as Catch-22 has a long list of characters, I’m curious to see who else ends up joining the cast.

Emma Thompson has just announced the delightful news that the Nanny Mcphee movie will be made into a musical.
The original 2005 big screen version was a smash hit and launched the career of Eliza.
She played the oldest daughter of Colin Firth’s bumbling single dad and a string of big and small screen roles followed.
Now 26, the young British star has found fame fearlessly tackling controversial and pop culture themes.
Eliza made her debut in the 2004 Julia Stiles romcom The Prince and Me, followed a year later by Nanny McPhee.
She played another precocious child in the 2008 big screen adaptation of Cornelia Funke’s novel, Inkheart, opposite Helen Mirren and Brendan Fraser.
Just four years later she was totally transformed when she tackled a gritty and terrifying role in the thriller Confine, attacking and abusing Daisy Lowe’s central character. Eliza terrorises the housebound Daisy, tying her up and physically attacking her.
She is killed in a shocking showdown with police at the end of the movie and didn’t fare much better in Broadchurch.
In an episode of Season 2, Eliza plays a woman having an affair with James D’Arcy’s character. After she is discovered by her uncle, he angrily throws her to the floor where she is impaled ona huge nail and dies.
Not even Nanny McPhee could fix that, however Eliza has found herself on the other side of the situation in her new show.
The actress’ most recent role was the 2017 MTV series Sweet?Vicious. She played a college student vigilante taking revenge on the attackers of young women.
MODERN FAMILY STAR ARIEL WINTER STRIPS FOR SEX SCENE IN RACY NEW MOVIE
Unfotunately teh show was cancelled after one season.
Eliza has also starred in the West End in musicals Loserville and played Jemima Potts in 2002’s revival of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Perhaps she should drop Emma Thompson a line about the new Nanny McPhee show…
He was recently seen in Celebrity 5 Go Barging on Channel 5 (still available on My5 catch-up) and in the film Paddington 2, which is out now. Tom, 76, lives in London with his wife Kara.
His daughter is the actress, comedian and ventriloquist Nina Conti.
Tell us about your role in Paddington 2…
I play a judge. Paddington does something dreadful to my character’s hair and so I become his enemy. It is a real feel-good movie. Lots of adults have told me how funny it is.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Mirette has just come out, which is a delightful little children’s short movie. And later in the year, I will be appearing in a new production of Chekhov’s The Seagull with Tara Fitzgerald.
It will be very funny and also tragic. Rehearsals for that start in August.
Which has been your most challenging role to film so far?
Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence as half of my dialogue was in Japanese so that was quite tough.
I worked with a great bunch of people though, including the late David Bowie and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
And what’s been your most enjoyable?
The Dumb Waiter. It was just myself and John Travolta, and it was very funny. Travolta and I were laughing so much we couldn’t film at times.
And Shirley Valentine was enormous fun to do, too.
Did you enjoy Celebrity 5 Go Barging?
I did. I tend to avoid shows like this as a rule, but it was fun.
Do you have any unfulfilled career ambitions?
I am writing another novel and I have one I must find a publisher for. I don’t have any particular ambitions to play certain parts.
But I get asked to do different things, so life is never boring.
What’s the best showbiz party you’ve been to?
A party at Walter Matthau’s house in LA was memorable as Jack Lemmon was there, as well as other people I revered.
Who would you like to swap places with for 24 hours?
A brilliant pianist, like Yuja Wang. I play the piano myself, so to be able to play as well as she could would be heavenly.
What’s been the most embarrassing moment of your career?
I once went to a meeting and didn’t recognise the person interviewing me.
It was Lord Snowdon, the photographer, who was married to Princess Margaret, and I remember asking him if he ever took his wife abroad to work with him and if she was an actress.
The Oscar-winning actress is in the shape of her life to play the computer game heroine.
However, she has never been shy about showing off her incredible body in the past, whether she is playing a slightly terrifying science fiction sex symbol or a costume drama adulteress.
In period movies from Anna Karenina to Testament of Youth and The Danish Girl, this Swedish girl lights up the screen, but she is sensationally fearless sand fearsome in Ex Machina, even as she examines her flawless inhuman body.
Watch Alicia Vikander sexiest moments next. (WARNING: ADULT CONTENT)
Ex Machina (2015)
Alex Garland’s critical darling toys with the idea of creating artificial life that can not only think, it can seduce.
As the real world around us begins to develop the explosive and controversial idea of sex robots, the movie explores the concept of an AI who can enjoy sex but also has the ability to use sexuality to control humans.
Vikander is chillingly sexy as Ava, toying with Domhall Gleeson’s Caleb and her creator, Oscar Isaac’s Nathan, as well as exploring her effect on another female robot.
Tulip Fever (2017)
Alicia Vikander and Dane Dehaan cavort in the world’s first erotic thriller based on blooming tulips and the cut-throat days when they were one of the most valuable commodities in the world.
It’s probably one of Alan Titchmarsh’s favourite moves – for the gardening content, obviously.
A Royal Affair (2012)
Another costume drama with long hair, linen blouses and breeches – and that’s just the men.
Vikander in a scandalous romp with fellow Scandi star Mads Mikkelsen set in the bodice-heaving 18th century court of the mentally ill King Christian VII of Denmark. Vikander plays his unhappy wife, Princess Caroline Matilda of Great Britain, who has an affair with the royal physician Johann Friedrich Struensee.
Royals behaving badly – whatever next?
Of course, in real life, the Swedish star is happily married to fellow Hollywood heavyweight Michael Fassbender.
The pair starred together in the emotional drama, The Light Between Oceans.
TOMB RAIDER IS OUT NOW IN UK CINEMAS
Meghan Markle is the 36-year-old Suits actress who stole the fifth-in-line to the British throne’s heart.
Prince Harry, 33, proposed to his then-girlfriend Meghan in October 2017, while the pair were cooking roast chicken.
Now the day of the wedding is looming, and Britons are anticipating what one of the most exciting royal events in recent years will hold.
Various reports have revealed that Meghan, who is a proud advocate for women’s rights, may well be planning a very feminist wedding by turning various traditions on their head.
It was revealed by the Sunday Times earlier this month that the royal-to-be is planning to make her own speech.
Traditionally, it is fathers who make a speech at their daughter’s wedding, and many brides choose to avoid public speaking on their big day.
However, Megan is planning to do her own speech in honour of her husband on the day.
It is understood that Meghan will speak at the reception following the wedding.
This is not only breaking general tradition, but also flies in the face of royal wedding tradition too.
It is not known exactly who Meghan plans to have walk her down the aisle.
Usually the father will also take on this role, but a palace source has claimed Meghan would prefer her mother Doria Radlan to walk her down the aisle.
They told Us Weekly: “I’ve heard that Meghan wants her mother to walk her down the aisle, which would be a sweet moment.
“While (Meghan and Harry) will always be mindful of traditions and the views of their elders, the day is ultimately about them and what they want to do.”
Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha Grant hit back at these rumours claiming Meghan’s father Thomas Markle will walk her down the aisle.
It was revealed this morning that Samantha’s ex husband has warned Prince Harry and Meghan to avoid inviting the actress’s half sister.
Mr Rasmussen, 59, claims that the “fame hungry” ex-model – who branded Meghan “Princess Pushy” – was never as close to Meghan Markle as she claimed she was.
He said: “Harry and Meghan need to know the truth about her. She’s the last person who should be at Windsor Castle.”
According to Caitlin FitzGerald, we all have a little Bachelor or Bachelorette in us.
It’s a good thing she does, as she plays Serena, Everlasting’s first female suitor in the third season of UnREAL, premiering Monday, Feb. 26, at 10/9c on Lifetime.
To catch up those of you that haven’t seen the show, UnREAL is a drama that follows the behind-the-scenes chaos that goes into producing Everlasting, a Bachelor-type reality-show-within-the-show.
“This crazy thing that I discovered when we were shooting UnREAL is that it’s so part of the culture, those shows, that when it came to things like the elimination ceremonies, I knew exactly the kind of cadence and rhythm and where to take the dramatic pause. Like it’s just part of our DNA at this point, I think,” FitzGerald said.
In the season ahead, Serena challenges Quinn (Everlasting’s pushy executive producer, played by Constance Zimmer) and Rachel (the show’s much-needed producer/Quinn’s pawn, played by Shiri Appleby) in ways that the male suitors have not.
FitzGerald explains how “the gender piece is a huge part of the difference [from previous seasons], particularly because I don’t think Rachel and Quinn have met their match before, and I think my character, Serena, really can hold her own with the two of them.”
Don’t worry — FitzGerald promises that the new season will have all the “dark and twisted things we love about UnREAL.”
Before spending a few months looking for love on UnREAL, FitzGerald built a career playing twins, a Center for Disease Control executive, a magazine editor and a murderer. We took a trip down memory lane with her to hear what she had to say about some of her most memorable television appearances.

The founders of Sledgehammer Games — Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield — are resigning from their posts as co-presidents of the Call of Duty studio, and they are moving on to new roles within Activision.
Condrey and Schofield started the studio in 2009 in San Mateo, California, and it was acquired by Activision to make Call of Duty games. They helped develop Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 alongside main developer Infinity Ward. Sledgehammer became one of three studios that rotated shifts in to produce the Call of Duty games every year. Kotaku first reported the departures.
It’s a big change for Call of Duty, which had more than $ 15 billion in sales at the decade mark. Sales are well over that number now.
In a statement, Activision said, “Following the incredible success of Call of Duty: WWII, Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey have decided to transition from their duties at Sledgehammer Games to new executive duties inside Activision. We thank Glen and Michael for their tremendous body of work on Call of Duty and look forward to continuing to collaborate with them in their new roles. These changes have created an opportunity to elevate one of the key leaders at the studio, Aaron Halon, to lead Sledgehammer Games. Aaron is a founding member of Sledgehammer Games and the natural fit to lead the team. He has over 20 years of industry experience and has played an instrumental role throughout the studio’s history. We congratulate Aaron and are thrilled about the future of Sledgehammer Games, which we believe has even bigger days ahead.”
Sledgehammer’s first solo game was Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which debuted in 2014. And then it created Call of Duty: WWII for November 2017. That game has had stellar results, with Activision saying it did $ 1 billion in sales within weeks of the November 3 launch.
Before starting Sledgehammer, Condrey and Schofield both ran EA’s now-closed Visceral Games, where they created the original horror game Dead Space.

In a statement, Schofield said, “Michael and I have been collaborating for over 12 years. In that time, we’ve made great games that fans have loved, won awards on behalf of our projects and have lived our dreams. We thank Activision for the wonderful opportunity to create and lead Sledgehammer Games. Now, it’s time to try other things. Activision has offered me the opportunity to focus my energy on something I’m very passionate about, exploring new game ideas for the company. It’s something I just couldn’t pass up. Working with such a great studio of developers at Sledgehammer Games has been an honor and the highlight of my career. The team is in great hands with Aaron, he has my full support and confidence. Thank you to everyone.”
And Condrey said, “We founded Sledgehammer Games to bring together a world class development team with a singular goal of delivering excellence for fans. Over the course of nearly a decade, Glen and I proudly grew the studio and watched a new crop of leaders emerge within the team. On a personal level, I’m deeply grateful to the men and women who have poured their passion into the pursuit of excellence with us. I’m proud of what we accomplished together, it has been the greatest experience of my professional life. I am looking forward to starting a new chapter of my career with Activision. I couldn’t be more excited for the future of Sledgehammer Games and look forward to seeing Aaron lead the studio to new heights.”
The departures come at a big moment for the franchise, as Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg is also leaving the parent company in March, after eight years overseeing Activision and studios such as Sledgehammer.
Both Condrey and Schofield shared a passion for taking the franchise back to World War II, where it started, with last fall’s game.
