Melania Trump, 47, stepped out in black as she joined her husband Donald Trump, 71, to honour the late Reverend Billy Graham. The couple laid a wreath on Graham’s casket, which lay in Washington. Paying her respects, Melania wore funeral-black for the occasion, although she did have her legs on display. The First Lady wore a princess coat with a fur collar and kept her hands covered in black leather gloves. She completed the look with black court shoes. Her legs, however, were not covered, and her tanned calves could be seen. As usual, Melania wore her hair loosely over her shoulders, and opted for her signature smoky eye makeup. Ceremonies were held in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda to remember the Reverend Billy Graham, who died last month. Known as “America’s pastor”, his funeral will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, tomorrow. All six living President’s are expected to attend, alongside 2,300 mourners. The Queen may even be in attendance, although her spokesman refused to comment. Melania has had a busy week, attending the Governor’s Ball on Sunday night in The White House. The mum-of-one opted for a custom made floor length lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, which featured sequin accents throughout. While the lace showed her arms and décolletage, a black under-dress kept most of Melania’s body covered. She also made a rare speech on Monday at The Governor Spouses Luncheaon about the student movement for action on guns after the shooting at Majory Stonemason Douglas High School. The incident left 17 dead, and a result, the First Lady launched a national conversation on gun violence. During her speech, Melania said as a parent, she cannot imagine the kind of grief a tragedy like that brings, and that we all find ourselves wondering what we can do to help.

Reverend Richard Coles opens up on his health problems and diet
“I danced like a walrus with spasms,” laughs the broadcaster and former musician – who was knocked out of the popular BBC series in the second week.
But when you take into account some of his health ailments it is admirable that Richard, 55, lasted as long as he did, even if his efforts were more comedic than commendable.
“I have arthritis in both knees and tinnitus in my ear,” says the vicar, who found fame in the 1980s as one half of the chart-topping pop duo The Communards before finding religion.
“The arthritis came up when I did my Strictly medical but I had already suspected all was not well.
“My knees were creaky and I had pain sometimes.
“My right knee in particular doesn’t like going up and down stairs.
“Now I’m trying to do a bit of cycling to keep them flexible.”
The tinnitus came on out of the blue in his 40s.
“It is very common for people who worked in pop music to end up with tinnitus in their 40s and 50s,” he explains.
“It’s like a constant whistling in my ear, more on my right side.
“It has different levels of intensity but I’m quite good at not noticing it unless I’m very tired or run-down.”
Despite his early exit Richard credits Strictly for making him more active than he has been for the last couple of decades.
“It’s the most I have done for my fitness in years.
“I lost a stone even though I was on the show for just a short time.
“You do four-hour workouts every day but it’s so much fun you don’t realise it’s a workout.
“I was absolutely knackered though.
“The lower back and knees felt it very much.”
He admits it’s not just his dancing that needs work.
“My diet is poor.
“I would love to be thinner and lighter.
“I would like to do the 5:2 diet, where you eat normally for five days and fast for two.

“But I never manage the fasting days.
“The problem is that I love food, cooking and eating.
“I love pasta and my idea of a single portion would probably feed a family of four.
“I’ve reached the point now that I can’t do that and not pay the price.
“I have too many calories coming in and not enough going out.”
Richard may struggle with diet and exercise now but things could not have been more different when he was in his 30s.
“I used to cycle at least 100 miles a week.
“My bike was my mode of transport but I would go on rides too,” he says.
“I also went to the gym three times a week.
“So I was in reasonable shape even though I did smoke which wasn’t so good.
“I never put on weight so could eat like a pig and always remained skinny.”
But his weight gain started when he gave up smoking at 45.
“I immediately porked out and life got really busy and I found it impossible to keep up my fitness.”
While he may not be the fittest he could be, one thing Richard is mindful of is his mental health after battling depression in the past.
“I had two severe episodes, one as a teenager and the other in my late 20s.
“I think that I will always be vulnerable to it but I am much better at handling it now and don’t fall into the hole like I used to.
“I avoid it by not getting involved in any addictive behaviour I did in the past, such as taking drugs.
“One of the ways I would try to escape negative feelings was by trying to anaesthetise myself with recreational drugs.
“But all you’re doing is delaying dealing with the reality.
“And of course my religious faith helps too, the feeling that it will all be all right in the end.
“And it usually is.”

The Reverend admitted his performances on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing left a lot to be desired
While Richard would like to keep up dancing, he admits he’ll find it difficult to squeeze it into his schedule.
“I did do one dance class afterwards but realistically I just don’t think I have enough time,” he says.
That’s probably little surprise as Richard is a lot busier than your average vicar.
As well as being the parish priest for St Mary’s Church in Finedon, Northamptonshire, where he lives with his partner David and their four dogs, he is also a writer, co-presents BBC Radio 4’s weekend show Saturday Live and is a familiar face on TV panel shows.
While he still counts himself as being relatively lucky with his health, one thing he keeps a keen eye on is his blood pressure.
“I had an episode with high blood pressure last year.
“I had been working quite hard and not taking care of myself.
“The first main sign was that my tinnitus was getting more intense.
“It turned out my blood pressure was ridiculously high so I had to go on medication.”
Thankfully he was able to wean himself off his tablets within three months.
“I started walking a lot more and managed to get my blood pressure under control quite quickly.”
As a whole, Richard tries not to worry too much about getting older and says: “I’m probably more content with my life now in my 50s.
“What I’d like to do in a few years’ time is semi-retire and spend more time walking the dogs, being with David and in Scotland which I love.

“I never used to make plans but now I have clearer plans than I’ve ever had.
“It gives a direction and purpose I’ve not had before.
“And maybe then I’ll finally get time to practise my dancing.”

EVEN by his own admission Reverend Richard Coles’s performances on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing left a lot to be desired.![]()
Reverend Richard Coles won legions of fans when he took part in this year’s competition with his comedic performances lighting up the dance floor.
The 55-year-old was sadly eliminated from the competition in week two after losing to Simon Rimmer in the dance off.
Today, the former star of The Communards appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss his upcoming Christmas album launch, but cheeky hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway couldn’t help but ask who he was backing.
“I’ve put a real bet on Joe [McFadden],” Richard confessed.
He explained: “From the first day I saw him I thought he was very good, but he also works very hard and he keeps getting better and better. I hope that gets rewarded.”
Richard also joked that he has not watched his performance since he quit the show after seeing the expression on his mother’s face, which told him all he needed to know.
Reflecting on his time on Strictly Come Dancing, Richard said he loved every minute of it, apart from his elimination.
“It was horrible being booted out but I can’t complain about it because I danced like a walrus with spasms,” he laughed.
This comes as doubt has been cast on whether head judge Shirley Ballas will be returning to the series.
When asked if she would come back for another stint on the talent show, she told The Sun: “Let’s wait and get this season over with. It’s been an experience. And at 57! It’s been wonderful.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 7.05pm.
In this occasional series, OZY takes to streets and neighborhoods across the globe to ask a simple question: “How was your day?”

Burleson, Texas
Today my 10-year-old had a soccer match, and I had my first doctor’s appointment with a new physician. For me, that’s letting her know I’m transgender and giving her some history. That went well, so that was good.
This has been an interesting week to prepare for tomorrow’s church service because of Senate Bill 6’s hearings, known as Texas’ “Bathroom Bill.” It’s expected the bill will get through the Texas senate, but the House is where we’re not quite sure.
I was born in Fort Worth, Texas. My parents kind of fit the Clint Eastwood stereotype and the Scarlett O’Hara stereotype. In junior high we ended up moving to Cleburne. They thought a small town was better to raise kids. As it turns out, my brother’s gay and I’m transgender, and here we were in Cleburne, Texas. I was a fairly introverted person. I was in survival mode a lot as a kid.
Being in a small town, everybody knows who you are. Our town was segregated, and there were lots of labels. I knew I was different. I didn’t see any people who were female-bodied who felt like a man. My parents were pretty open to me and my brother. He wanted a Barbie dream van. I was a tomboy and so I asked for athletic gear and stuff like that. My mom, of course, thought of me as her daughter. She’s very girly and I wasn’t, obviously. So we had some epic battles. We did negotiate that, though. And I spent a lot of time having an experience of life that was a little outside myself. I was figuring out I’m not a girl, but people think I’m a girl. It got more complicated whenever I started dealing with sexuality.
We’re going to have to get our Gandhi on. If we’re going with the Jesus model, we’re all sacred, we’re all loved.
I didn’t really have language for what I felt, being born in 1965. I was attracted to women. And I felt like a man, and I thought nobody else feels that way. I went to college. I started teaching at a school and had a partner. I found some other lesbians to talk to and was like, “Oh that’s what this is.”
Then I went to church and that was a life-changing experience. When I was really young, we went to church only a little bit. I found MCC in Austin when I was older. I was amazed by it and intrigued. You had all these churches that had branched off. I didn’t realize there was a church that taught the theology of inclusion. I decided I wanted to be a part of that. I wanted to study religion — that’s where the root of all of this is, the hatred. I decided to go to seminary in 1996.
I started school at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. It was pretty amazing. When I started, we had a professor who sat down with us and said, “You’ve come to us with some very structured ideas of religion and what the Bible says. Our role in seminary is going to be to break all that down, create a bit of a mess and give you the tools to put it all back together again in a way that’s sound for you.” Later, I started working at the Cathedral of Hope. I had all these connections and colleagues who were transgender, but I couldn’t go there. I wasn’t willing to rock the boat quite that much. It was a couple of years later when I was fasting for Lent that I realized, This is who I am — I’m a man.
My coming out was layered. I didn’t know if my parents could go through one more coming out. I didn’t know whether to come out to my church in transition or go away and transition and then go find another church. I could barely get it out with my partner. Up north, there would have been more images, more language. But I was created this way. If everybody could have this journey, it’s amazing the things you learn. I was 38 when I started transitioning.
Agape MCC, my congregation, was a larger congregation when I got there. In one week we had a couple who left because we were not traditional enough. Another couple left because we were too traditional in our liturgy and theology. Folks have different needs and different wants. My push has been to be open to all different faith expressions. It’s about being as inclusive as Jesus was teaching us to be.
It may just be hope at this point, but it seems to me there are more people who are more supportive. Sure, on SB6, they’re pushing it through. But even though Texas has been conservative, there’s been an overwhelming positive response to the transgender community. I believe Texas is bigger than this and smarter than this and more compassionate than some of what we’re hearing.
We’re just not going back. We’re going to have to get our Gandhi on. If we’re going with the Jesus model, we’re all sacred, we’re all loved. My family is multigenerational Texan. When I came out, they were very accepting, because I’m their family and I will always be their family.

Kings of Leon, a family act consisting of brothers Caleb Followill, Nathan Followill, and Jared Followill, joined by their cousin Matthew Followill, has returned to the music scene after a three year hiatus, offering up Walls. While the Followill boys have created consistent offerings over, since their 2003 debut album, Youth & Young Manhood, Walls puts Kings of Leon back in the spotlight with their debut single, “Reverend,” and a new tour. Unfortunately, an illness has put a sudden crimp in their plans, as far as this tour goes, but that doesn’t mean Kings of Leon won’t be back in full force, before long.

Promoting their new album, Walls, Kings of Leon has been on an extensive tour, but, as Detroit Free Press shares, that tour has been interrupted by an illness. Nathan Followill, who performs as Kings of Leon’s drummer, has been diagnosed with pneumonia and has been confined to bed rest for a minimum of three days, which does limit the present tour date at Detroit’s Fox Theatre.
Kings of Leon chose to delay the concert, instead of outright canceling the show, and a statement issued on behalf of the band announced that the Fox Theatre engagement has been rescheduled for March 9. Ticket holders are advised to hang onto their tickets, as they will be honored for the March 9 show.
Additionally, Kings of Leon has also postponed their January 23 concert in Chicago at United Center, reports Chicago Sun-Times. That concert will instead take place on March 8, one day before the rescheduled Fox Theatre show. The United Center will also honor tickets at the March 8 concert.
Kings of Leon ticket holders may also have their tickets refunded at the point of purchase.

A recent appearance on The Tonight Show gave Kings of Leon an opportunity to perform live for Jimmy Fallon and his audience and, for their set, the band chose to play “Reverend” from their new album, Walls, reports Rolling Stone. Long time fans of Kings of Leon will immediately recognize Caleb Followill’s trademark voice in this new single, destined to become a rock anthem and as familiar as “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody” from their 2008 Only By the Night album.
“Reverend” debuted on Walls, which saw an October 2016 release. The album’s release prompted a worldwide tour, beginning in the United States, and plans had been to wrap up the U.S. tour by January 28 in Los Angeles with a European tour to follow shortly thereafter. There has been no mention as to whether the Kings of Leon concert postponements will have an effect on the European leg of their tour.
In 2013, Kings of Leon started working with a new record producer, Markus Dravs, who drummer Nathan Followill found challenging to work with in some ways. The change in producers was something that was definitely marked by their first album with Dravs, Mechanical Bull.
“We would run through the song and play it three times and he’d be like, ‘Uh, yeah, you know – let’s run it a few more times. You still don’t have it nailed down,’” explains Nathan Followill. “So we would do it a few more times and he’d be like, ‘You all still don’t have it nailed down. Let’s go through it a few more times.’ So we’d do it three or four more times, and then he’d be like, ‘Uh, we’re keeping the first one. I was trying to see if I could get you guys to beat it, but obviously we’re not going to.’”
