  • Several Twitter accounts were suspended Wednesday for sharing a Splinter News article containing a private phone number belonging to White House aide Stephen Miller.
  • Miller is supposedly the architect of the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.
  • Twitter has since re-instated the suspended accounts after the phone number was shut off.

Twitter suspended the accounts of multiple users who shared a Splinter News article containing a personal phone number supposedly belonging to White House adviser Stephen Miller on Wednesday. 

Miller, a 32-year old White House aide, is reportedly the author of some of the Trump administration’s most controversial immigration policies, including the most recent “zero-tolerance” practice of prosecuting all adults who cross the US border illegally and separating them from their children in the process.

  • A Twitter account that claimed to represent Tennessee Republicans was run by the Russian-backed Internet Research Agency.
  • Members of President Donald Trump’s family and campaign staff promoted tweets from this account.

  • The account attracted more than 100,000 followers and was suspended in August.

Members of Trump’s family and campaign staff, including Donald Trump Jr. and Kellyanne Conway, promoted tweets affiliated with a Russian “troll farm” during the 2016 election, a new report says.

An account that claimed to be the unofficial Twitter account of Tennessee Republicans used the username @Ten_GOP and was run by the Russian-backed Internet Research Agency, according to the Daily Beast.

Conway, Trump’s campaign manager at the time, retweeted two days before the 2016 election one of @Ten_GOP’s tweets that said, “Mother of jailed sailor: ‘Hold Hillary to same standards as my son on Classified info’ #hillarysemail #WeinerGate.”

Brad Parscale, Trump’s digital director on the campaign, also retweeted one of the posts that read, “Thousands of deplorables chanting to the media: ‘Tell The Truth!’ RT if you are also done w/ biased Media!”

Trump Jr. had followed the account and had retweeted their posts on three different occasions. One week before the election, he retweeted, “BREAKING: #VoterFraud by counting tens of thousands of ineligible mail in Hillary votes being reported in Broward County, Florida Please, RT.”

On Election Day, he also retweeted a post that read, “This vet passed away last month before he could vote for Trump.. Here he is in his #MAGA hat.. #voted #ElectionDay.”

Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn also retweeted the account on at least one occasion, and his son retweeted the account a total of 34 times.

After Flynn was fired in February after it was disclosed he misled the Trump administration about his contacts with Russian officials, the account promoted for Flynn to be reappointed as national security adviser.

The account, which was created in Nov. 2015 and attracted more than 100,000 followers, was suspended in August.

The Senate Intelligence Committee met with Twitter earlier this month to discuss how Russia interfered with the election on Twitter. The Committee also invited Twitter, Facebook, and Alphabet, Google’s parent company, to testify publicly on Nov. 1.

Late Saturday night, the president retweeted a meme with an image of the book’s cover next to another with Trump’s face and the punchline “I happened.”

Though Clinton’s book is not set for publication until later this month, some excerpts in which Clinton is critical of Trump have already been released to the press.

“Morning Joe” published parts of the audiobook in which Clinton describes how her “skin crawled” during one of the presidential debates in which Trump seemed to shadow her onstage.

Since his upset victory over Clinton last year, Trump has used Twitter to continue criticizing the former secretary of state, and has repeatedly reminded voters of his victory over Clinton.

For as long as he has used the social media platform, Trump has loved retweeting support, including memes comparing him to Democratic politicians.

Last month, Trump retweeted a meme of himself “eclipsing” former President Barack Obama.

Trump un-retweeted Holden’s tweet after about 20 minutes of having it on his page.

The official Twitter account for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department retweeted a posting from alt-right founder and white nationalist Richard Spencer on Monday.

The retweet is a video of a press conference Spencer held earlier in the day, in which he panned assertions that President Donald Trump was disavowing a white supremacist rally that turned deadly on Saturday. During that press conference, Spencer called Trump’s comments “kumbaya nonsense,” and said “only a dumb person would take those lines seriously.”

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Twitter account responded to a reporter who asked why the department was retweeting Spencer. The account replied, “That was an accidental retweet and was in no way done intentionally,” but retweet was not immediately deleted.

A follow-up tweet read: “We are working to take this accidental retweet down. It is not showing up in our feed for is is [sic] to delete.”
