Stumptown‘s Season 1 finale resolved the mystery surrounding the death of Benjamin “Benny” Blackbird — but that wasn’t always the ending that the writers had in mind. In an interview with TVLine, series co-creator Jason Richman admits that they briefly considered an alternate outcome, one which “resurrected” Sue Lynn’s son and revealed that he somehow faked his own death 13 years ago. “[That idea] did come up in the writers room,” Richman says. “The audience [has] seen enough TV, and there are a lot of [writers] who would have made that choice.” So what stopped him? “The thing that troubled me about that was, in a lot of ways, it would discount and invalidate a lot of the trauma that Dex had been through,” he explains. “What is that ultimately going to say [about] the person who really suffered, who felt that she was in some way responsible for this man’s death, if he shows up in the end? I would hate him so much [and] there would be no way to redeem that character if he turned out to be some sort of evil specter… That felt like a very cheap [idea].” “What I think is so interesting about [Tantoo Cardinal’s] character is that she doesn’t really exist on TV,” he says. “She’s not someone who we’ve necessarily seen before. Sue Lynn is a powerbroker in this town; that was always the M.O. of that character — someone who had a very difficult past with the tribes in the Northwest, and wanted to play with the big boys. She wanted to be like [hotel and casino mogul] Steve Wynn, and so she opened this casino… [Going forward], we will find her always trying, in a very flawed sort of way, to advance the plight of her people. We’ll find her all over the place in this show, and plugged into all different kinds of worlds.” Do you agree that bringing Benny back from the dead would have been a mistake? And what are your hopes for a potential Season 2? The post Audi Planning Luxurious A8 to Rival Mercedes-Maybach, Resurrection of Horch Name: Report appeared first on The Truth About Cars.RELATED STORIES
Despite the Benny storyline being put to bed, Richman maintains that Benny’s mom, Sue Lynn, will continue to be a part of the show in a potential Season 2.

Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix seem to have all settled on one recipe for success: rebooting cult classic TV series that didn’t quite hit it big in their original broadcast runs. Netflix grabbed Arrested Development (for better or worse), Amazon picked up The Expanse. Now Variety reports that Hulu is going for an even deeper cut: Veronica Mars.
The cult-classic feminist crime drama premiered on UPN in 2004 and continued for three seasons. The last ran on The CW. Between its ties to struggling new broadcast networks and the fact that it was way too smart and had way too much social commentary for its own good—especially for a series that was framed as a teen show but that in a lot of ways really wasn’t—the series met an early mid-season demise with low ratings.
It found a cult following on DVD before the streaming hype hit full volume, and in 2013, creator Rob Thomas, star Kristen Bell, and others banded together to launch a Kicksarter campaign to follow it up with a feature film. That campaign raised $ 5.7 million compared to its target of $ 2 million and was, at the time, one of the most successful Kickstarters yet.

Back in 2004 The Passion of Christ was made on tiny budget of $ 30 million and went on to make over $ 600 million worldwide.
Covering the betrayal, trial and crucifixion of Jesus, the movie became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time – a huge feat for a foreign language film.
Now that a sequel focused on the Resurrection has been confirmed, when can a release be expected?
At this stage it’s unknown but Jim Caviezel, who is reprising the role of Jesus, has confirmed shooting dates have been decided.
Nevertheless the actor wouldn’t disclose when, however if they’ve been decided it would make sense that Passion of the Christ 2 could shoot as early as this summer.
That would make a 2019 or 2020 release date, presumably around Easter time, much more likely.
Jim, who is a devout Catholic, has teased what the sequel will be like.
Speaking with USA Today in January, he said: “There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience. It’s great. Stay tuned.
“I won’t tell you how he’s going to go about it. But I’ll tell you this much, the film he’s [Gibson] going to do is going to be the biggest film in history. It’s that good.”
Braveheart, that’s a film that took a long time to be able to crack. The same thing for Passion. And the same thing for this. He’s finally got it. So that is coming.
The biblical biopic tells the story of Mary (Mara), a young woman in search of a new way of living. Constricted by the hierarchies of the day, Mary defies her traditional family to join a new social movement led by the charismatic Jesus of Nazareth (Phoenix).
Monica Bellucci played Mary Magdalene in The Passion of the Christ.
On what attracted her to the part, she said: “”I did all I could to get an audition. People would say to me, ‘Nobody will see it, nobody wants to produce or distribute it, it’ll make no money and it will raise controversy. Why on earth do you want to do it?’
“But I wanted to play her because she moves me. She was just a sinner like you and me, her humanity and weakness touched me.
“She finds spirituality through Jesus; we all must try to find our spiritual side.”
With every blockbuster movie, there is always a low-budget knock-off version waiting on-demand to confuse your elderly relatives. The victim this time around: Pacific Rim Uprising. The culprit? The people behind the Sharknado movies.
The low-budget production company The Asylum isn’t even waiting until the Pacific Rim sequel hits theaters to release their similarly titled copycat, Atlantic Rim: Resurrection. It’s everything you love about Pacific Rim (aliens, robots, spunky robot pilots!) but without everything that made Pacific Rim good. In other words, a perfect movie to drunkenly watch on a Friday night.
Who knew that the business of knock-off movies that barely skirt copyright infringement was so lucrative? The Asylum did. The production company behind low-budget fare like Paranormal Entity and Snakes on a Train has made a killing off of confusing people who are bad with movie names — or people who genuinely enjoy B-movie schlock — releasing more than 100 “mockbusters” since 1999.
And their latest release is no different. In fact, it’s a sequel to the first Pacific Rim knock-off they produced on a dime, 2012’s Atlantic Rim. Now Atlantic Rim: Resurrection is available digitally, before Pacific Rim Uprising hits theaters in March.
I, for one, love how shockingly low-budget the mech pilot set-ups are. That’s literally a fancy office chair with a seat belt and an elaborate contraption built for the eye. Everything else in the trailer pretty much fills in the check-boxes for an Asylum production: aliens that look like they were whipped up in 5 minutes on After Effects, women in low-cut tops screaming, and hilariously wooden acting.
It really makes you appreciate the trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising. I haven’t been as keen on Steven S. DeKnight‘s sequel as I was for Guillermo del Toro‘s love letter to mecha anime, but John Boyega really does wonders for the movie. Hey, maybe that was Asylum’s intention all along: appreciate the blockbusters you have. Because one day, you may type in the wrong title while searching for an on-demand movies and end up watching Atlantic Rim instead.
Atlantic Rim: Resurrection is out today. Pacific Rim Uprising hits theaters on March 23, 2018.

The follow up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens may be a month away, but some fans have been enjoying Star Wars Battlefront II, which includes canonical storyline related to the new movies.
Now theorist Mike Zeroh has spotted what appears to be a Snoke teaser for The Last Jedi at the end of the main campaign in the video game’s narrative – set just before the events of The Force Awakens.
In his new YouTube video, the Star Wars expert says: “During this period we have both Kylo Ren and Hask travelling to the planet Pillio, where Den Meeko resides.
“Kylo Ren eventually gets some answers out of Den Meeko as to the whereabouts of the map to Luke Skywalker and the location of Lor San Tekka [who appeared in the opening scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
He continued: “Now after Kylo Ren gets those answers, we have a little conversation that’s exchanged between both Gleb and Hask.
“Gleb [Headmaster of the Future Imperial Leaders Military Prep School on Vardos] mentions something very mysterious and intriguing of a thing called Project Resurrection.
“Given the fact that Andy Serkis has said that Supreme Leader Snoke is a very vulnerable character…[who’s] in a sedentary state, so he’s only in his throne for the most part, I believe this Project Resurrection eventually came out to be that machine that we do see at the very side of Snoke’s throne, within his throne room.”
Zeroh added: “[It’s] keeping him alive or even quite possibly regenerating Supreme Leader Snoke from his massive injuries.”
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for HBO’s “Game of Thrones” season seven.
“Game of Thrones” is a fantasy story with magic and dragons and terrifying ice zombies — but the strength of the show and George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” lies in the realistic characters.
This might be why the show seems to have so quickly glossed over Jon Snow’s murder and subsequent rebirth thanks to the Lord of Light. This incredible moment in Jon’s life has been seemingly swept aside — as if it’s just another crazy magic event that happened on “Game of Thrones.”
But the seventh season’s third episode brought this oversight into sharp relief when Davos spoke on behalf of Jon in front of Daenerys.
“He risked his life for his people,” Davos told the Mother of Dragons. “He took a knife in the heart for his people. He gave his own —”
But Jon stopped him from revealing that he was actually once a dead man. Later Daenerys asked Tyrion what he thought that exchange was all about, but they both dismissed it as a “flight of fancy.”

When are we finally going to see someone react to Jon’s death and resurrection? Why is the show holding back from this huge plot point?
I can understand Jon not wanting his death and rebirth brought up during his first conversation with Daenerys, especially when she already seemed doubtful of his sanity. For some reason, Daenerys and Tyrion found it hard to believe the Night King and his army of wights are a real threat — even though Daenerys is literally immune to fire and hatched dragons when everyone told her that was impossible.

So Jon not wanting to pile on the “crazy” makes sense, but the hesitation speaks to a larger pattern. It’s not just Jon — nobody other than Davos seems interested in speaking about Jon’s death.
Even Melisandre, when pointedly asked on the second episode of season seven why she thinks Jon Snow is a prophesied hero, made no mention of his death and rebirth. You’d think that would be her biggest talking point when trying to convince people of Jon’s destiny, but no. She mentions his leadership abilities and bringing the Wildlings and the Northmen together.
HBO
We know Sansa knows about his death, because Tormund spoke with the Wildlings about Jon sacrificing his life for them in front of her on season six. But we haven’t seen any conversations between Jon and Sansa about this huge event.
The show also skipped over Sam Tarly’s reaction to Jon’s death and choice to leave the Night’s Watch. Sam sent a raven from Oldtown to Winterfell, which means he knows Jon is no longer Lord Commander and instead is King in the North.
Of course, all of these moments probably just happened off screen. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss can’t possibly write every little conversation into the series, so the audience has to accept that certain things happen between episodes.
HBO
But I expected Jon Snow’s resurrection to have more of an impact on the realm at large. Nearly everyone knows Jon was the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, including Cersei Lannister. Which means people should either be questioning why he abandoned the Night’s Watch (an action punishable by death), or they should be making a fuss about the fact that the man now named King in the North is actually a resurrected ex-Lord Commander.
Granted, word hasn’t seemed to spread about Beric Dondarrion’s multiple resurrections, but he’s part of a semi-underground gang of outcasts — not the King in the North who is leading an army. Also, we have many instances of Sandor Clegane bringing up Beric’s resurrection because it clearly unsettles him.
I’d expect similar behavior from the men and women around Jon, but so far Davos is the only person who seems to think it’s worth having a conversation about.
Fingers crossed we see Jon address this traumatic part of his past soon, and hopefully in front of Daenerys. If anyone should understand, it’s the woman who walked into a fiery funeral pyre and emerged naked, unhurt, and with three newborn baby dragons everyone thought were fossils.
“Game of Thrones” season seven continues on Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO. In the meantime, catch up with 11 details you might have missed on the latest episode.

Super Rude Bear Resurrection is a hyper-difficult platformer, to be sure. However, seeing that bear with the backwards hat die over and over and over again isn’t going to make you snap your controller in half. Instead, it will provide a puffy pile of corpses that will cushion your fall and protect you from the game’s hazards, paving a path for you to safely beat each level.
For once, failing makes your life easier in a brutal platformer.
Super Rude Bear Resurrection has our title bear being sent back to medieval England to face his nemesis, The Wizard. It’s an odd enemy for a bear to have, but the bear looks like he’s kind of a jerk so maybe I understand the wizard’s dislike. Anyway, players will have to guide the bear through arrays of ruthless traps, hopping through narrow holes in order to make it through each stage of spikes, explosives, and cutting blasts.
Or, you could not do that. You could instead die in those traps, leaving your body as a convenient buffer against them. Dying leaves a handy soft corpse to protect you from each trap, so you can just layer any given stage with corpses until you can get by. It’s a solid mechanic that makes the constant death of vicious platformers into a useful thing, and ensures you’ll beat each level…eventually. Also, it rewards me losing my temper and throwing myself into spikes a few dozen times, which happens eventually in every platformer like this. So that’s a bonus for me.
Whether you’re terrible at these games or you’re really good at them, Super Rude Bear Resurrection has some special platforming in store for you. Just try not to let your dislike of anthropomorphic animals with ‘tude get in the way of winning, ok?
Super Rude Bear Resurrection is available for $ 14.99 on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. For more information on the game and developer Alex Rose, you can head to the game’s site, the developer’s site, or follow them on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
