Since 2015, Adidas has been letting customers reserve highly coveted sneakers (like Kanye West’s Yeezys) through its Confirmed app. But that’s about to change in the coming weeks. According to a message the company is displaying in Confirmed, the application’s features will soon move into the main Adidas app, which was launched in November of last year. Back then, Joseph Godsey, head of digital brand commerce at Adidas, told Engadget that limited-edition drops could be coming to the Adidas app down the road. And, well, it looks like that’s finally about to happen.
The move makes total sense, since the Adidas app will offer hypebeasts a one-stop shop for all their needs, whereas the standalone Confirmed app only had a very specific use. If you have haven’t downloaded it yet, the Adidas app is available for both iOS and Android.

https://briefnews.eu/barcelona-admits-catalonia-independence-crisis-has-caused-drop-in-hotel-reservations/
https://briefnews.eu/barcelona-admits-catalonia-independence-crisis-has-caused-drop-in-hotel-reservations/#respondTue, 10 Oct 2017 20:10:16 +0000http://briefnews.eu/barcelona-admits-catalonia-independence-crisis-has-caused-drop-in-hotel-reservations/
The Barcelona City Council admitted yesterday the current Catalonia political crisis is negatively affecting tourism in what is usually one of the most popular cities in Spain for tourists.
Agustí Colom, the councillor of the area, explained: “There have been no cancellations, but reservations for the coming months have fallen or they don’t have the same levels seen in previous years.”
This is the first time officials have admitted the political crisis, which has seen Catalonia fight for independence, has hit tourism in Barcelona – its main source of income.
The sector has also warned images of police violence during the independence referendum on 1 October, as well as the mass mobilisations of the general strike on 3 October “are not good news for tourism”.
Although it is still too early to accurately determine the exact affect of these events on tourism, the escort has warned forecasts are not good.
Those responsible for tourist apartments estimated a “decrease” of around six per cent in reservations, and hoteliers spoke of a drop of between 10 and 20 per cent.
The drop is especially noticeable in last minute and long-term reservations, something assumed to be linked to the Catalonian fight for independence.
Acknowledging his concern, Colom said: “We are worried. We need to be able to solve the political conflict and not create more alarm.
“The tourism sector requires stability and everyday life in the city is normal. There is nothing that prevents tourists from visiting it normally.”
The Councillor for Tourism asked the Government “not to use tourism as a weapon towards the City Council or the Generalitat, and to be part of the solution so that the image of the city stays where it should be.”
This statement was in direct reference to news of cruises diverting stopovers in Barcelona to head to Valencia instead.
These changes, made by the Mein Schiff 3 and Mein Schiff 5 vessels of the Tui company, took place on October 1 during the referendum suspended by the Constitutional Court, and on day three of the strike to protest police action.
However, the decision of these cruises was not an isolated incident, as Mein Schiff 3 has opted to postpone a new stopover planned in Barcelona, due to take place next Thursday 12 October, until the 20th of the month.
The drop in hotel reservations and the concern about the damage to tourism that the political conflict can cause come in a week in which companies and financial institutions have decided to move corporate headquarters outside Catalonia.
The imminence of a possible unilateral declaration of independence leads companies to study all possible scenarios, including that of operating in other Spanish cities.
The biggest trade fair event in Barcelona, the Mobile World Congress, admitted yesterday to be analysing the situation. GSMA, also responsible for the event, recalled that a contract with the City Council is in force until 2023. However, they are “studying the development of events in Spain and Catalonia and evaluating the potential impact for the Mobile World Congress”.

It’s only been a couple of months since Bollinger Motors unveiled its B1 all-electric sport utility truck, but, the company reports, that’s enough time to have racked up over 10,000 reservations for the upcoming EV. The company achieved that number on the same weekend it published a video of the B1 in off-road testing, which you can watch above.
Bollinger, which began in 2014 and for whom the B1 is its first product, will be bringing the electric truck to the SEMA show in Las Vegas at the end of the month. The company has been busy working to test and market the B1 while it works toward securing a production facility in the U.S. The reservations are not binding, and Bollinger hasn’t yet announced pricing on the B1. The response, though, indicates a lot of interest in the rugged ute.
“I can’t believe we’ve reached this number of reservations so quickly,” said Bollinger Motors CEO Robert Bollinger. The company says the reservations “represent hundreds of millions of dollars in potential revenue for the company from eventual vehicles sales,” and that fleet orders won’t be tallied until pricing is announced.
In addition to the off-roading video above, Bollinger recently published videos of the B1 testing at the track. The company has also published a rendering of a four-door version of the B1 (in orange!), which will have a wheelbase 9 inches longer than the model seen above.

Rashford, 19, burst onto the scene for Manchester United in the 2015/16 term and has continued to express why he is one of world football’s hottest young talents.
The forward has bagged five goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side already this season.
Marcus Rashford has been deployed on the left-wing following the signing of Romelu Lukaku for much of the campaign so far, but he spearheaded the attack and scored twice in United’s 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Burton Albion on Wednesday.
He has even been compared to the likes of hotshots Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele by Phil Neville after being shortlisted for the Golden Boy award.
But Pearce has admitted he does not want to blow Rashford’s trumpet too much due to the hype surrounding young English prospects in the past.
“Firstly, I have to put my colours on the mast and say he’s an outstanding talent,” Pearce told Sky Sports’ The Debate.
“There’s a reservation from me as an ex-England youth type manager that says ‘how many young English players have we bigged up that we are going to build a team around’?
“Andros Townsend? Micah Richards? The multitude of these young players, even Theo Walcott that have been a little bit disappointing.
“The Ox, Phil Jones? They’ve had a good career so far, but I expected a little bit more.
“That’s why there is a reservation with me about Rashford.
“I think Mbappe has delivered better on the international stage than Marcus has at this moment in time.
“I also am a little bit disappointed with the usage of Marcus at England youth tournaments – the lack of tournament football we’ve given him.
“He’s an outstanding talent… I hope he goes on to be everything we want him to be as an English player.”
Manchester United will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run and continue to mount a title charge when they take on Southampton at St Mary’s tonight (3pm).
