The show, as they say, must go on, and in the case of the Billboard Music Awards, said show will go on this fall.

NBC and dick clark productions have announced that the 2020 Billboard Music Awards will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 8/7, to air live.

As previously announced, Kelly Clarkson will return to host the event, marking her third turn doing so after previously doing so in 2018 and 2019. Additional details regarding production of the show will be announced at a later date.

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards were originally scheduled to air live on NBC — from Las Vegas — on April 29, but like most everything else in the world was postponed due to the pandemic.

Cases in point: This year’s Tony Awards, originally scheduled for June 7, were postponed back in March and have yet to be rescheduled, while the 93rd Academy Awards, originally slated to be held Feb. 28, 2021 got pushed back two months to April 25 (and in turn extended eligibility).

Among other pandemic-era kudoscasts, the Primetime Emmy Awards have held tight to their Sept. 30 date but will go with a virtual ceremony on ABC; the 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards are currently slated for Jan. 24; and next year’s Grammys are scheduled for Jan. 31. The Golden Globes, typically an early January affair, were postponed to Feb. 28, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returning as hosts.

President Donald Trump’s second State of the Union address has been officially rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5, to be held at the U.S. Capitol.

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams will deliver the Democratic response, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on Tuesday.

The State of the Union was originally scheduled for Jan. 29, but Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi notified President Trump earlier this month that because of the partial government shutdown (which at that point was in its 26th day), proper and secure arrangements would not be able to be made in time. Pelosi gave Trump the option of postponing the address until after the shutdown ended, or delivering it in writing. Though Trump reportedly considered a workaround (such as delivering the address from the Oval Office, or at an outdoor venue, campaign rally-style, he ultimately agreed to postpone.

Much Big 4 programming, such as This Is Us, FBI, The Gifted and ABC’s Tuesday slate, was already locked into rerun/preemption mode for this week, so Feb. 5 should be an equal mess.

Thus far, NBC has confirmed that This Is Us‘ next new episode won’t air until Feb. 12, pushing its season finale April 2. (In turn, the midseason drama The Village will claim This Is Us‘ time slot as of April 9, after leading out of the hit drama March 12 through April 2 at 10/9c.) A new New Amsterdam will also be bumped on Feb. 5.

Over on ABC, new episodes of American Housewife and The Kids Are Alright will lead into the SOTU, which will preempt black-ish, Splitting Up Together and The Rookie.

Fox will lead into the SOTU with a Masked Singer rerun.

Other programming moves for Tuesday, Feb. 5 are in the process of being confirmed.

OnePlus was all set to unveil its new OnePlus 6T smartphone on October 30 in New York City, but then Apple decided to steal the spotlight.

The Mac maker this week announced its own Fall event to be held on October 30, and now OnePlus has rescheduled its event as a result.

Haye pulled out of their with a biceps injury.

But the two fighters have come to an agreement to get back in the ring next summer.

The fight has been rescheduled for 5 May.

“I’m pleased to get a new date in the diary and I look forward to giving boxing fans a great night on May 5,” said Bellew.

“To be honest I was looking forward to a great victory in December and a relaxing family break over Christmas, but my mind is still very much on this fight and I will punish him for that.

“I now have a very clear plan for 2018 and that is to knock out David Haye, and then knock out Tyson ‘Stavros Flatley’ Fury and end both their careers.

“But first thing’s first, I need to rid the sport of David Haye on May 5 and I look forward to doing this in what I believe will be an explosive fight.”

Bellew beat Haye in the 11th round back in March this year and talk of a rematch immediately followed.

Haye, 37, later revealed he had torn his achilles during the bout.

Haye had been training for the rematch – originally scheduled for December 17 at the O2 Arena – but slipped on some stairs while training, forcing him to withdraw.

”Tony has boasted that the rematch gives him the opportunity to force me into retirement,” said Haye.

“Unquestionably, I step into the ring on Saturday May 5, with both my career and legacy on the line.

“After my freak accident down a stairwell last month, I was heartbroken not to give everyone the ending to 2017 I wanted. Since then I had to accept the cards I had been dealt, remain positive and focus on factors which are within my control; rehabilitation and rescheduling the fight.

“Over the past five years, I’ve had a number of challenges to overcome, but learnt often during times of adversity we learn and grow. As a result, come May 5, Tony will be faced with a more experienced and more determined opponent.”

A fight between Bellew and Tyson Fury was mooted but the Liverpudlian has stuck to his side of the bargain to fight Haye. 

As for Haye, called out the boxer for a fight next summer.

“I think everyone knows of my feud with David Haye,” Manuwa said.

“I think he is the perfect candidate for me to cross over to boxing.”

Saturday’s scheduled launch of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket has been delayed due to technical issues. NASA said in a tweet that it was due “to a second stage thrust vector control issue.” The launch has been rescheduled for Sunday morning.

With a mere 13 seconds remaining until blast off, SpaceX confirmed that they were “standing down” to examine one of the engine nozzles, adding that Sunday at 9.38am ET was the “next earliest launch opportunity.”

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted that the “movement trace of an upper stage engine steering hydraulic piston was slightly odd,” adding that his team “need to make sure that it isn’t symptomatic of a more significant upstream root cause.”

The purpose of the engine nozzle is to steer the rocket in the second stage of the launch, according to TechCrunch.

Musk said that there was a 99 percent chance the issue would “be fine… but that 1% chance isn’t worth rolling the dice. Better to wait a day.”

The rocket was due to dock at the International Space Station with its 5,500 lbs (2494 kgs) of cargo, which included the deadly superbug MRSA, as part of an experiment to examine how the bacterium will mutate in low gravity environments, with a view to improving antibiotic efficacy on Earth.

The launch was to be the tenth of 20 resupply missions to the ISS that SpaceX has been contracted to carry out for NASA and was the first to lift off from the Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) platform at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

In September 2016, SpaceX also suffered an unsuccessful launch after one of their Falcon 9 booster rockets exploded on a launch pad at Cape Canaveral. On board the rocket at the time was a satellite which Facebook was hoping to use to provide broadband access in Africa.
