Eddie Izzard has been applauded by viewers during her most recent television appearance in which she asked for the pronouns she/her to be used. The stand-up comedy star appeared on the Sky Arts series Portrait Artist of the Year and asked the contestants and audience if she could be publicly referred to as ‘she’ and ‘her’ confirming that she was “gender fluid”. 

Eddie appeared on the series seven finale, which saw contestants capture her likeness. 

During her appearance, she tells them: “I think everyone should and must make life an adventure.”

And those watching the show heard Eddie say: “This is the first programme I’ve asked if I can be she and her, a little transition period.

“People just assume, well, know me from before… I’m genderfluid, I just want to be based in girl mode from now on.”

“She’s just now asking for people to drop the he/him pronouns she used to use,” it read. 

Another said: “The amount of people being transphobic towards eddie izzard using she/her pronouns is awful,, people can use whatever pronouns they feel comfortable with and the only thing you have to do is respect that, it isn’t hard to be kind.”

Eddie previously spoke out about coming out as transgender back in 2017. 

At the time, she told the Hollywood reporter: “I am essentially transgender. I have boy mode and girl mode. I do feel I have boy genetics and girl genetics.”

Speaking during a news briefing on Monday, Sanders said that a second meting with Kim is “something we want to take place.”

“The primary purpose of the letter was to request and look to schedule another meeting with the president which we are open to and are already in the process of coordinating that,” Sanders said.

The letter from Kim didn’t come as a surprise to the US president, who told reporters on Friday that a “personal letter is being delivered to me from Kim Jong-un,” adding that he expected it to be a “positive” one.

The Monday announcement comes just one day after Trump praised Pyongyang for carrying out its 70th anniversary parade “without the customary display of nuclear missiles.”

“This is a big and very positive statement from North Korea. Thank you To Chairman Kim. We will both prove everyone wrong! There is nothing like good dialogue from two people that like each other! Much better than before I took office,” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

Trump and Kim held the first ever US-North Korean summit in Singapore in June, during which the two leaders broadly agreed to “work toward denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula.

Although Trump initially hailed the talks as positive and productive, North Korea accused the US weeks later of making “gangster-like” demands on denuclearization.

The letter isn’t the first time that Kim has penned correspondence to Trump. In July, the US president published a tweet which included a “very nice note” from Kim. In that letter, Kim stated that he believes the “strong will, sincere efforts, and unique approach” of the two leaders “aimed at opening up a new future…will surely come to fruition.” 

Meanwhile, Kim has also received an important snail mail delivery, getting a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin during a Russian delegation’s visit to Pyongyang. Kim now wishes to visit Russia soon, according to Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko, who said the time and date of such a meeting will be discussed.

US President Donald Trump’s suggestion that Americans should thank him for firing former FBI director James Comey backfired somewhat, setting off another Twitter storm.

Trump tweeted on Thursday afternoon, wondering why Americans had not yet started to thank him for Comey’s firing and suggesting that they should start expressing their gratitude soon.

The tweet comes ahead of a Department of Justice report, which is expected to accuse the former FBI director of defying presidential authority on a number of occasions.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report is also expected to be critical of how Comey handled the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

Trump’s tweet set off a firestorm of both criticism and support. The president’s supporters tweeted in agreement, arguing that Comey’s insubordination justified his firing.

Trump’s critics, on the other hand, accused the president of attention-seeking behavior and opted to thank Comey for his service instead.

On Tuesday, Trump revealed his impatience for the DOJ report, bemoaning delays and saying he hoped that the report was not being tweaked to be less critical of either Comey or Clinton.

“What is taking so long with the Inspector General’s Report on Crooked Hillary and Slippery James Comey,” he wrote. “Numerous delays. Hope Report is not being changed and made weaker! There are so many horrible things to tell, the public has the right to know. Transparency!”

It marks the first time that Mueller, who is investigating alleged collusion between Trump and Russia, has demanded documents directly related to President Donald Trump’s business. According to the NYT report, the subpoena was delivered in “recent weeks” and Mueller asked the organization to “hand over all documents related to Russia and other topics” that he is investigating.

The Trump Organization is the umbrella company which oversees Trump’s business ventures. Trump’s lawyers are in talks with Mueller’s office about how investigators could potentially interview Trump himself. His attorneys are reportedly advising him to decline an interview.

In January, Trump said he was “looking forward” to meeting personally with Mueller, but his lawyers later walked back his comments, saying he was “speaking hurriedly.”

A senior congressional source has told MSNBC that Mueller’s decision to subpoena the organization rather than issue a more typical request for documents indicates that he is putting the organization’s staff members “on alert not to destroy evidence.”

In an interview with the New York Times in July, Trump said that if Mueller began looking into his business and family finances unrelated to Russia, he would be crossing a red line.

Of possible interest to Mueller is a “letter of intent” Trump signed in 2015 to build a Trump Tower in Moscow — a deal that never materialized. Trump has insisted that he does not own buildings in Russia and does not make money from Russia.

The latest subpoena suggests the investigation which Trump had hope would be cleared up months ago will drag on indefinitely.

But other countries are quickly catching up.

According to the latest transparency report from Twitter, information requests by the US fell to 2,111 in the first half of this year. That was down 8% from the second half of 2016. Even with that drop, other countries still trail far behind, as we can tell from the chart from Statista, which is based on Twitter’s data.

But if you’d looked at a chart of the data from the previous reporting period, the US would have had an even bigger lead. The number of information requests coming from Japan jumped 42% from the second half of 2016 to the first half of this year. India made 55% more requests in the most recent period, compared with the one immediately prior, and South Korea 63% more.

Just because a country makes a request doesn’t mean Twitter hands over the information. In its report, Twitter said it pushes back against such requests whenever possible. Before handing over user data, it considers the nature of the crime, whether government followed the correct legal processes in making their requests, and the kind of information government are requesting. While the company granted the vast majority of requests coming from the United States so far this year, it denied all of the ones Turkey’s made.
