WARNING: This article contains spoilers from 13 Reasons Why

Season two dropped in its entirety on Netflix today (Friday, May 18) for viewers to binge in one go.

The second run of 13 Reasons Why picks up five months after the suicide of Hannah Baker (played by Katherine Langford) and sees her parents going ahead with their lawsuit against Liberty High.

While audio cassettes were used to tell the story in season one, the second run uses polaroids to drive the narrative forward.

Episode one titled – The First Polaroid – saw Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) finding a strange photo turning up in his locker.

The identity of who gave him the photo was a mystery but there are a number of possible people who it could have been.

13 REASONS WHY SEASON 2 NETFLIX RELEASE TIME

Who is Scott Reed in 13 Reasons Why season 2?

Among the possible people who could have shared the polaroid is Scott Reed (Brandon Butler), who was close to Clay’s locker when he found it.

On the back of the snap someone had written the words: “Hannah wasn’t the only one.”

Both Scott and Clay made eye contact for a lingering moment, with the latter wondering if the jock had something to do with the photo.

Scott was revealed to be a member of the school baseball team, which means he may want to expose the dark conspiracy that seems to be going on at Liberty High.

13 REASONS WHY SEASON 2 STREAMING

He’s a celebrated jock but is new to 13 Reasons Why after joining the show for season two.

Despite hanging out with rapist Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), it looks like he could be key character in exposing what’s been going on in at the school.

Up-and-coming star Brandon Butler is an American actor who’s previously had roles in General Hospital and Taking Flight.

According to IMDb, Butler is set to be staring in The Run Saga: Breathe and Ring of Silence.

13 REASONS WHY SEASON 2, EPISODE 1 NETFLIX RELEASE DATE

Who gave Clay Jensen the polaroids in 13 Reasons Why season 2?

Fans are set to find out who gave Clay the photos but in the first couple of episodes audiences are left in the dark.

Clay goes to speak to Tyler Down (Devin Druid) about the polaroid because he’s the yearbook photographer and is known for being a shutterbug.

However, Tyler quickly dismisses the photos as “hipster” tripe and says that there are no negatives of the photos.

It’s clear that whoever gave Clay the picture wants him to dig deeper and uncover the conspiracy.

Judging by a teaser previously released, there are going to be lots more polaroids that will come to light and reveal the victims caught up in the sinister plot at Liberty High.

Patrick Reed: Masters 2018 champion reveals secret behind first major success https://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-masters-2018-champion-reveals-secret-behind-first-major-success/ https://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-masters-2018-champion-reveals-secret-behind-first-major-success/#respond Mon, 09 Apr 2018 05:46:00 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-masters-2018-champion-reveals-secret-behind-first-major-success/

The American’s 15-under-par saw him beat compatriots Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler to his first ever major title.

The world No 24 overcame several minor worries but ended the weekend a shot up on Fowler – following on from finishing joint-49th and tied for 22nd in the two previous occasions he has made the cut.

But despite Spieth almost closing a gap that started at nine shots to start the day, and Fowler producing his best ever performance at Augusta yet as his agonising wait for a maiden major goes on, the controversial Reed overcame the pressure in the final round to come out on top.

And Reed believes the reason for his triumph was his self-belief and trust in his strategy.

He told reporters: “I think the biggest thing was that, of course I felt like the game was in a little bit better shape coming in, but just [using] the experiences from in the past.

“I knew the golf course a little better, had a little bit more experience round the course this year coming in. Really my mindset coming in was to stick to my game plan, play golf.

“I stuck to my game plan all week, even today I didn’t stray from it at all throughout the entire day.

“That was something I needed to learn, especially at a place like this, how important it is to stick to what I believe and how I feel I needed to play the golf course.

“It gave me the reward of winning my first green jacket.”

Reed added that he has learned to calm himself down psychologically to deal with the pressure at majors.

He explained: “The biggest thing was I put too much pressure on myself.

“I went out there and I tried so hard to get the ball in the hole.  I tried so hard to hit the perfect shots, that going into this week, I was just like, ‘Hey, it’s golf. Go play.’

“I preached that to myself the entire week. I had my caddie remind me of that the entire week. Just be you, play golf. If you get riled up, show it. If you aren’t happy about something, it’s all right, just play golf.

“I was able to stay in that kind of mindset the entire week and especially through the first three rounds.

“I haven’t really had much success in shooting low rounds out here at Augusta and to be able to shoot three of my lowest rounds the first three days, it showed a lot.

“I knew because of that coming into today, that I really had a really good chance to win a golf tournament.”

Patrick Reed left speechless after claiming first Masters win in Augusta https://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-left-speechless-after-claiming-first-masters-win-in-augusta/ https://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-left-speechless-after-claiming-first-masters-win-in-augusta/#respond Mon, 09 Apr 2018 00:47:44 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-left-speechless-after-claiming-first-masters-win-in-augusta/

The American beat off the challenge of Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlory in a thrilling final round at Augusta.

Reed headed into Sunday 14-under par at the top of the leaderboard but his nerves were tested to the maximum – mainly thanks to a superb charge from Spieth who finished the day eight-under par.

Sergio Garcia, the 2017 champion, failed to make the cut but he was in place to hand Reed the Green Jacket in the clubhouse following the conclusion of the tournament.

Reed was ecstatic with the win as his wife, Justine Karain, greeted him with a huge hug following his 18th-hole par-putt to clinch a one-shot victory.

“It is almost impossible to put into words,” Reed said.

“Just to make the putt on the last and watch the ball go in the hole and know that I have just won my first major and to finally end the drought was one of my huge goals.

“To do it in the first major and to finish off the drought meant so much to me.”

Fowler was Reed’s closest challenger in the end as he finished 14-under par.

And the world No 24 knew it would be tough coming up against his fellow American at the death.

“I knew it was going to be tough,” Reed added.

“Any time trying to close off a major tournament you know it is going to be hard.

“To close off your first major and to do it at a place so close to me is where I went to college.

“I knew that the lead was going to shrink at times and could grow, it is just the flows of golf. You just have to know how to handle it.

“It was tough out there but to be able to make that putt on 14 and then the two-putt on 17 gave me the momentum going to the 18th.

“To be able to be able to have to par the last hole to win my first major it definitely felt right.”

Masters 2018 LIVE: Updates, scores & leaderboard as Rory McIlroy bids to stop Patrick Reed https://briefnews.eu/masters-2018-live-updates-scores-leaderboard-as-rory-mcilroy-bids-to-stop-patrick-reed/ https://briefnews.eu/masters-2018-live-updates-scores-leaderboard-as-rory-mcilroy-bids-to-stop-patrick-reed/#respond Sun, 08 Apr 2018 14:50:56 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/masters-2018-live-updates-scores-leaderboard-as-rory-mcilroy-bids-to-stop-patrick-reed/

McIlroy (-11) is bidding to become the sixth man to win the career Grand Slam and is within striking distance of overnight leader Patrick Reed (-14).

Reed, who has yet to land a major title, takes a three-shot lead into the final round having made two eagles in a round of 67.

Rickie Fowler (-9) is third, one ahead of Jon Rahm (-8).

Four-time champion Tiger Woods, who was among the bookies favourite to win at Augusta, sits on four over after three rounds.

SO IT BEGINS…

15:30: The first few are out and about on a beautiful day in Augusta.

Vijay Singh (+7), who led at one point, open things up with par followed by a birdie. Ian Poulter (+6) does the same with birdie on the first.

Phil Mickelson (+7) has just begun his round.

AFTERNOON

Hello everyone, I’ll be your host for the final day of the Masters 2018. I say it every year, but It’s gone too quickly, right?

Anyway, we’ve got a mouth-watering final day to look forward to with Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy going head-to-head for the famous Green Jacket.

Those two get going at 7.40pm.

Before they get started, we’ve got plenty more going on with 2000 Masters champions Vijay Singh teeing off at 3pm.

He’s followed by Ian Poulter, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods, who wants to end the week on a high.

WHAT THEY SAID…

Rory McIlroy: “It’s massive to be in the final group for the first time here since 2011,” said McIlroy.

“I’ve been waiting for this chance, to be honest. I always have said that 2011 was a huge turning point in my career. It was the day that I realised I wasn’t ready to win major championships, and I needed to reflect on that and realise what I needed to do differently.

“But now I am ready. Obviously I’m not in the lead like I was going into that day, so I probably don’t have as much pressure. I don’t have to protect anything. I can go out and sort of freewheel like I did today, which is a great position to be in.

“I wish I was a little closer to the lead or leading, but I’m in the final group and I’ve shot 65 on moving day at the Masters. It’s all I can ask for.

“I’m really excited to show everyone what I’ve got, to show Patrick Reed what I’ve got and all the pressure is on him. He went to Augusta State and has a lot of support and I’m hoping to come in here and spoil the party.

“Patrick’s got a three shot lead, I feel like all the pressure’s on him. He’s got a few guys chasing him who are pretty big time players. He’s got that to sleep on tonight.”

Patrick Reed: “It’s going to be a lot of fun.

“Obviously we’re both playing really solid golf to be able to go into a final round on Sunday at the first major. But really I’m just going to do my thing and stick to my game plan and go out and enjoy my Sunday.

“I’m not out there to play Rory. I’m out there to play the golf course. The biggest thing I can pull from Hazeltine is I was going head to head with Rory and was able to put together a really good round, and when he tried to make a counter, I was able to always stay ahead and keep going.”

Masters 2018: Why is Augusta leader Patrick Reed HATED by golf fans? https://briefnews.eu/masters-2018-why-is-augusta-leader-patrick-reed-hated-by-golf-fans/ https://briefnews.eu/masters-2018-why-is-augusta-leader-patrick-reed-hated-by-golf-fans/#respond Sat, 07 Apr 2018 10:00:07 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/masters-2018-why-is-augusta-leader-patrick-reed-hated-by-golf-fans/

The American shot an incredible second-round 66 to open up a two-shot lead over the chasing pack at Augusta.

Reed is currently nine under par, with Marc Leishman and Henrik Stenson his closest challengers heading into the weekend action.

The leader certainly enjoyed himself on Friday.

But golf fans around the world are hoping Reed falls away from the top in the final two days.

The 27-year-old has been accused of cheating and stealing from his team-mates in the past.

In a book published by Shane Ryan called Slaying The Tiger: A Year Inside the Ropes on the New PGA Tour, Reed is accused of trying to hit an opponents ball on a fairway after his went into the rough during a qualifying event.

It also details how money, a watch and a putter went missing from UGA’s locker room.

After showing up with a wad of cash, Reed claimed he had hustled a professor on the golf course.

The golf star was also kicked out of college for underage drinking.

“Everyone knows why I got kicked out of UGA. Because of two drinking incidents,” he said in the past.

“None of it’s true, and we have coaches that even back it up.

“And if any of it was true, then the coaches would know about it.”

Heading into the weekend’s action, Reed is confident of picking up the elusive green jacket on Sunday.

“Everyone wants to win (majors) and if you don’t believe you can win them, then you probably shouldn’t be playing in them,” he said.

“I believe that if I play the golf that I know how to play, that I can win majors.”

Patrick Reed takes Masters lead, Tiger struggles to make the cut https://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-takes-masters-lead-tiger-struggles-to-make-the-cut/ https://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-takes-masters-lead-tiger-struggles-to-make-the-cut/#respond Sat, 07 Apr 2018 02:02:35 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/patrick-reed-takes-masters-lead-tiger-struggles-to-make-the-cut/ The Masters is living up to its hype with some of the biggest names and hottest games in contention going into the weekend.

Except for two guys who generated so much of the buzz.

Tiger Woods hit another shot into Rae’s Creek, didn’t make a birdie until the 13th hole and wound up with a 3-over 75, leaving him 13 shots behind Patrick Reed. Woods was more concerned with sticking around for the weekend than chasing a green jacket.

Phil Mickelson matched his worst score ever at Augusta National with a 79 to make the cut on the number, leaving him 14 shots behind.

Even without them, the show is just getting started.

Reed, who has never seriously contended on a big stage outside of the Ryder Cup, had birdies on half of the holes he played Friday. That was more than enough to atone for the few times he got out of position, and his 6-under 66 put him atop the leaderboard for the first time in a major.

“I kept myself out of trouble and allowed my putter to do the work,” Reed said.

He was two shots ahead of Marc Leishman, who boldly took on a high risk when he hooked a hooded 5-iron around the trees and barely over the water on the par-5 15th to about 6 feet for an eagle.

Reed was at 9-under 135. He was partnered with Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., for the day. Hadwin shot a 3-over 75 to tie for 18th at even par. Mike Weir of Brights Grove, Ont., missed the cut with a two-round total of 11-over.

Canada’s Adam Hadwin pushes his approach shot to the 11th green right, leading to a bogey and a 3-over 75 in the second round of the Masters on Friday. (David Cannon/Getty Images)

Right behind? Five major champions, for starters.

Henrik Stenson (70) was four shots behind. Rory McIlroy (71) is off to his best 36-hole start in seven years and is looking as poised as ever to capture the fourth leg of the career Grand Slam. Jordan Spieth lost his two-shot lead on the first hole and was on the verge of getting left behind until he made a key par putt to close out the front nine with a 40, and then salvaged a 74 to join McIlroy just five shots behind.

Looming was Dustin Johnson, the No. 1 player in the world, who made a 45-foot par putt on the 16th to atone for several birdie putts in the 10-foot range he missed. Johnson had a 68 and was six shots behind, along with PGA champion Justin Thomas, who had a 67.

Eleven of the 17 players still under par at the halfway point can be found among the top 20 in the world.

Reed, who led Augusta State to a pair of NCAA titles, opened with a 25-foot birdie putt and zoomed into the lead after two more short birdie putts. He ran off three straight birdies again at the end of the front nine, holing a 15-foot birdie at No. 9 to stretch his lead.

He is the only player in the field to make birdie on every par 5 both rounds.

“The par 5s are huge around here to be able to pick up ground on,” Reed said. “You’re not going to shoot a low score if you don’t.”

For everyone else, it was about jockeying for position.

Spieth happy to be near top

Spieth was happy to be near the top after the way he started — a tee shot into the trees on the right and a three putts for a double bogey, and then a drive to the left and three more putts for a bogey. Just like that he was behind, and it kept getting worse. He made bogey from the middle of the fairway on No. 7. He three-putted from long range on the par-5 eighth. And he was headed for a 41 on the front nine until he made a 10-foot par putt.

“I’m still in this golf tournament,” Spieth said. “With the way the back nine was playing today, the wheels could have come off there. But I made some nice par saves and was able to grind out some phenomenal second-shot iron shots and good two-putt birdies.”

Mickelson won the Mexico Championship last month, and at age 47 and with three green jackets, there was talk he could become the oldest Masters champion. Those hopes faded when he bounced around in the trees at No. 9 and made triple bogey and hit into Rae’s Creek on No. 12 for a double bogey.

He bogeyed his final hole for a 79, the second time in three years he posted that number.

Woods made bogey on the opening hole with a sand wedge from the fairway. He really came undone when his second shot to the fifth bounded over the green and into a grove of magnolia trees. He took a penalty drop to clear room through the branches, put that in the bunker and made double bogey.

Very little went right except for a pair of birdies on the par 5s on the back nine. Looking at the white leaderboards only made him feel worse. The cut is for the top 50 and ties and anyone within 10 shots of the lead. Woods kept seeing Reed make birdies, and he knew he was well outside the 10 shots.

“I was hoping to keep it within 10. I didn’t know what my position was, but I think I’m in,” he said after his round. He was tied for 40th.

No one has ever rallied from more than eight shots behind after 36 holes to win the Masters.

“I’m going to have to shoot a special weekend and I need help,” Woods said. “I’m not in control of my own destiny.”

Leishman seized on his moment with the best shot of the day. His tee shot on the 15th was too far left, leaving trees between him and the flag. Instead of laying up from 210 yards, he closed with the face of a 5-iron, aimed toward the right bunker and tried to hook it some 30 yards.

He hooked it about 40.

The ball narrowly cleared the mound at the front of the green, caught the slope and settled 6 feet away for an eagle.

“We’re not here to lay up,” Leishman said. “It’s a major. You’re going to have to take some chances at some point during the week if you want to win, and that was a time where I thought I had to take a chance. I’ve been hitting that shot well on the range and I thought it was a prime opportunity to give it a test. And it came off.
