A highly decorated Army Special Forces soldier pleaded guilty to charges of drug trafficking conspiracy, admitting he attempted to smuggle nearly 90 pounds of cocaine from Colombia to Florida aboard a military aircraft in August 2018.
Master Sgt. Daniel Gould first smuggled 10 kilograms of the narcotic in early 2018, according to the US Attorney’s statement. A co-defendant in the trial traveled to Colombia with the payment for the first load, which Gould then placed in a gutted-out punching bag.See the rest of the story at Business Insider

There was more drama on tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother after Roxanne, 35, lodged an official complaint against fellow housemate, Ryan, 34.
Roxanne went to the diary room to complain about Ryan calming that he punched her in the ribs.
The day started off with the housemates having to compete in a series of tasks to get a party at the end of the day.
However, things quickly got a bit strange for the contestants when they ended up in a seemingly endless loop, having the repeat the day and tasks over and over again.
It quickly became apparent to the housemates that they were in some kind of Groundhog Day scenario and had to get everything absolutely perfect before they could party.
However, the day’s events were overshadowed by the incident between Roxanne and Ryan.
Roxanne asked Ryan to come over, and the former Coronation Street actor proceeded to engage in what seemed to be a bit of play fighting.
However, he apparently hurt Roxanne who shouted, “Ow, woman beater! That bloody hurt!”
She then went into the bedroom and said: “I’ve just been beaten up by Corrie’s Jason Grimshaw. Ow. Big Brother, that hurt.”
Roxanne’s shock then turned into anger, and she demanded to talk to one of the show’s producers.
“Big Brother, can I talk to a producer, please? I want to talk to a member of the production team,” she said.
“He punched me like a boxer would punch a bag.
“I can’t believe you’re letting somebody stay because of that!” she added.
At the time of the incident, Ryan was left unaware that his actions had hurt Roxanne, but he was then called into the Diary Room after Roxanne had made a tearful confession to Big Brother about what happened.
Big Brother proceeded to tell Ryan that they are issuing him with a formal warning and that they may have to remove him from the house should another incident like this occur.
However, a visibly shaken Roxanne went back into the Diary Room later that night.
“I don’t feel comfortable sleeping in the same room as Ryan,” she said.
“I’m now suffering and having to alter my experience because of violence.
“I can’t believe you’re letting him stay here,” she finished.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 5.
Cohen, who had been the longtime personal lawyer and confidante of President Trump, has distanced himself from the quagmires of his former boss, telling ABC in an interview that first and foremost he cares about his family and country.
While this statement may seem nothing out of the ordinary if uttered by another former Trump associate after a falling-out with the president, Cohen stands out, since it was him who in an interview with Vanity Fair last September said that he was “the guy who would take a bullet for the president.”“I’d never walk away,” he stressed at the time.
However, in the interview with ABC, his first in-depth one, the lawyer said that he would not let anyone use him to make him look like a guilty party.
“I will not be a punching bag as part of anyone’s defense strategy. I am not a villain of this story, and I will not allow others to try to depict me that way,” Cohen asserted.
He is currently being investigated for a possible campaign law violation, for his paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels before elections, for what she claims was her affair with Trump. He also faces possible bank fraud charges relating to his personal business transactions.
Cohen said that he has been fully cooperating with both FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team and with Congress, in their lingering “Russiagate” investigation. While he has not been interviewed by the Mueller team as of yet, he has already provided some documents to the special prosecutor’s office.
Unlike his former boss, who lashed out at the FBI for swooping down on Cohen’s home, hotel suite and office in April, tweeting “a total witch hunt” in capital letters and “attorney-client privilege is dead!,” Cohen heaped unlikely praise on the FBI agents for being “respectful, courteous and professional” as they were searching his property.
“I don’t agree with those who demonize or vilify the FBI. I respect the FBI as an institution, as well as their agents,” Cohen said, rejecting the notion of a ‘witch hunt,’ Trump’s favorite name to call the protracted ‘Russiagate.’
“I don’t like the term witch hunt. I respect our nation’s intelligence agencies’… unanimous conclusions,” he said, stopping short, however, of siding with those who accuse Moscow of meddling.
Noting that he is not yet willing to spill all the beans about the hush payment he made to Daniels, Cohen indicated that he is very much looking forward to setting the record straight, but is forced to hold back now, at the advice of his legal counsellor, Guy Petrillo.
“I want to answer. One day I will answer,” Cohen said, responding to a question on whether Trump was aware of the payment to Daniels, which has become central to the story.
Petrillo, an ex-federal prosecutor with the Southern District of New York, has yet has to fully assume his duties as Cohen’s legal representative. The rumors that Cohen had hired the lawyer as his new defender surfaced in June.
After this assumption of duty is complete, it will void the joint defense agreement between Cohen and Trump, which had allowed their legal representatives to share documents and information, and may also possibly untie Cohen’s hands.

The Warriors claimed a 4-0 series sweep on Friday with a 108-85 win in Cleveland, but James said he suffered the “self-inflicted” injury after the Game 1 loss which led to him playing the remaining games with a damaged shooting hand.
“I let the emotions get the best of me and pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand,” James said at press conference on Friday, where he appeared with his right hand in a cast.
Game 1 had seen officials change a key decision to rule against James when the Cavaliers were 104-102 up with 36 seconds left.
The resulting free throws allowed the Warriors to tie the game, and they went on to win in overtime, despite James scoring 51 points.
Three-time NBA champion James, 33, said that his outburst after Game 1 came as a result of anger at “calls made throughout the course of the game.”
“Understanding how important a game is on the road for our ball club, what [winning it] would have done for us,” he said.
“The way we played, the calls that were made throughout the course of that game, and I had emotions that the game was taken away from us. I had emotions that you just don’t get an opportunity like this on the road against Golden State to be able to get a Game 1.”
James’ future at the Cavaliers is now in doubt, with the 33-year-old a free agent from next month.
After Friday’s defeat he said he had “no idea” if he had played his last game for the team with whom he won the NBA title in 2016, and thatb he would consider the interests of his family when making the decision on his next steps.
The Warriors earned back-to-back NBA titles and their third championship in four years with a comprehensive victory on Friday in Cleveland, with Stephen Curry scoring 37 points.
Warriors forward Kevin Durant was named NBA Finals MVP, after averaging 28.8 points for the series, including a stunning Game 3 in which he scored 43 points and made seven assists.
A video showing a police officer punching a girl in the head as she apparently resisted arrest on a New Jersey beach on Saturday has gone viral.
Footage of the incident was shared on social media by Twitter user @HewittLexy, who said she was sleeping on Wildwood Beach when she woke up to the altercation just after 4pm local time. RT has reached out to Wildwood Police Department for comment on the video.
At the start of the clip, a woman can be seen pinned down by two police officers as people in the background shout “stop resisting.” One officer punches the woman twice in the head before dragging her around until she is face down with her legs stretched out. Police then appear to handcuff her as the clip ends.
A baby can be seen in the arms of a man at the start of the video. The cries of an infant can also be heard during the incident.
The footage has since been shared on Facebook by the woman in question, Emily Weinman. In a detailed post, Weinman explained that she was on the beach with her partner, her 18-month-old baby, and a friend when police approached them.
She claims that the police response caught on video happened after she passed a breathalyzer test and refused to give her name.
Weinman admitted in the post that she was underage and had alcohol on the beach when officers came over to her. However, she maintains that she had not consumed any alcohol and had passed the breathalyzer test.
When police continued to stay in the vicinity, she asked them if they had anything better to do than search for people drinking underage. The officer then said: “I was gonna let you go but now I’ll write you up,” Weinman alleges.
Weinman said she refused to give her name to the officer, who then threatened to arrest her.
“I tripped and fell and the cop tackled me to the ground and smashed my head into the sand. At that point I blacked out and fought any way possible trying to get up and push him off me,” she said.
Weinman admitted that she should have given the officer her name but said the whole incident was blown out of proportion and has resulted in her loss of trust in law enforcement.
The Wildwood Police Department told NJ.com that there was no one available to comment on the incident until after the Memorial Day holiday on Monday.

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: There’s a threat facing New York, and a few of Marvel’s punch-happy heroes need to clean it up. Based on the new trailer shown tonight at Comic-Con — where, Deadline reports, Netflix screened the entire first episode — the plot of every Netflix Marvel series so far will remain consistent with this eight episode The Defenders mini-series that arrives August 18th.
Of course, fans have quickly devoured most episodes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist so far, so putting them all together should flow beautifully. Speaking of Iron Fist, Netflix also announced there will be a season two of the Finn Jones project, which will also feature Misty Knight from the first season of Luke Cage. This plan has been more than four years in the making, and similar to the movie MCU, a grand meetup should close a chapter in overall book — at least until The Punisher debuts.

CNN responded on Saturday to President Donald Trump’s tweet featuring an edited video that appeared to show the president body slamming and punching the news network.
The original video is from 2007 and depicts Trump attacking WWE CEO Vince McMahon. The video was edited to feature an image of the CNN logo superimposed on McMahon’s face to make it appear as though Trump was pummeling the network.
“It is a sad day when the President of the United States encourages violence against reporters,” CNN said in a statement released after Trump’s tweet went out. “Clearly, [deputy press secretary] Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied when she said the President had never done so. Instead of preparing for his first overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his healthcare bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office. We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his.”

Trump frequently attacks news networks and publications he views as unfavorable to him. In recent days, Trump has focused his attacks on CNN, which he labels as “fake news” and “fraud news.” Just in the last 30 days, the president has claimed the mainstream media is “fake news” 16 times.
CNN’s communications team also sent out a separate reply to Trump’s tweet with a quote that deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Thursday regarding Trump’s feud with MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski.
On Thursday, Trump started the day by tweeting that Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when she visited his Florida estate over the New Year. After a slew of Democratic and Republican lawmakers denounced the president’s tweet, journalists asked Sanders if Trump’s statements were creating a dangerous atmosphere.
“The President in no way form or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence,” Sanders said. “If anything, quite the contrary. And he was simply pushing back and defending himself.”
CNN tweeted that quote in response to Trump’s video of him attacking the network logo:

AFL: Tempers are flaring at the MCG and Melbourne’s Bernie Vince has been public enemy number one.

Ben Cunnington can accept a $ 1000 fine for his gut punch on Bernie Vince.
AFL CHIEF Gillon McLachlan has forecast new rules to rid the game of punching as the match review panel failed to suspend Kangaroo Ben Cunnington for his hit on Demon Bernie Vince.
The incident was seen as a test case in the face of growing community ill-ease over punching in the game — and the result was a $ 1000 fine.

The verdict came after match review panel member Jimmy Bartel had called on the league to introduce greater powers for the five-man panel, saying penalties for a punch should be “black and white”.
A special category was needed for “non-football acts”, like punching, the former Cats star said.

The panel determined Cunnington’s gut punch on Vince — that forced the Demon from the field and left him dry-retching — had been intentional but low-impact, which brought the penalty down from a ban to fine.
McLachlan, speaking before the finding, said punching has no place on the field.
“I can talk in broad terms and be unequivocal — I don’t like punching in our game,” he said.
“I don’t feel it’s the look we want and to the extent that our rules don’t provide for it (appropriate sanctions), we’ll look to change them.
“I think that (Sunday’s game) was the one where people have been talking about a significant level of emotional physical play … without talking about any specific instance, I don’t like players punching other players regardless of where it is.”
Sunday’s fiery clash was punctuated by dozens of “jumper punches” as players regularly faced off.
Richmond captain Trent Cotchin escaped with a fine for a jumper punch on Docker Lachie Neale in Round 8, another outcome that was criticised in some quarters.
After Sunday’s clash, North Melbourne coach Brad Scott described the jumper punch as a “cheap shot” that umpires should act on.
McLachlan conceded “many would count Trent lucky” to have been given a fine, and that umpires should act “if they see something in any form”.
“Whether it’s jumper punching or holding the ball — if in doubt, pay the free kick,” he said.
The match review panel is bound by a table of offences that grades conduct, impact and area of contact to provide a base sanction and early plea discounts.
But Bartel believes a separate set of guidelines is required.
“It would be great if you had something you call football acts and non-football acts,” Bartel said on RSN.
“By that I mean, when you’re trying to execute a football act and something goes wrong — as we talk about sling tackles or shepherding, spoiling — it’s graded in a certain way.
“Things like punching are not a part of our game so obviously that table would be significantly higher so then we can actually deal with punching, jumper punching (so) it’s almost black and white which is, I think, what people want.

“The problem is it (the grading table) has become so small that they’re all lumped in together and you could get a week for a sling tackle because you’ve got to go through the boxes, but you could get a fine for punching.”
Former panel member Daniel Harford declared that the system is in need of “overhaul”, while North Melbourne premiership player Wayne Schwass labelled the decision a “joke”.
“MRP lacks credibility and consistency,” he tweeted.
“ … Fines for punching opponents embarrassing. Ridiculous precedent! Joke!”
The panel considered video evidence and a medical report from Melbourne in determining its sanction for the hit.
Cunnington’s teammate Shaun Higgins was also hit with a $ 1000 fine for striking key Dee Clayton Oliver to the throat, with the act deemed to be intentional and low impact.
Melbourne’s Christian Salem can accept a one-match ban with an early plea for his elbow on Higgins.
Swan Kurt Tippett’s match day report for striking Saints skipper Jarryn Geary attracted a $ 1000 fine, while Bombers forward Joe Daniher can also accept a $ 1000 fine for rough conduct on Eagle Sam Mitchell.
Blue Patrick Cripps was hit with a $ 1000 fine for front-on contact with Brady Grey.
Cats skipper Joel Selwood was cleared for making contact with Dog Tom Boyd, with the panel determining that the force used was below what is required for a report.
Callum Mills was also cleared for his contact on Jack Newnes, with the panel stating that the Swan was “contesting the ball and had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball”.
