A rhino has charged at and injured a suspected poacher in Namibia. It is a rare case of the animal, hunted for its valuable horn, being able to fight back against the perpetrators.

The incident occurred at the Etosha National Park on October 14, but was reported by the newspaper The Namibian almost a week later. A group of poachers illegally made their way into the park in order to hunt down the rhinos, the paper said.They were searching for a victim when a rhino “appeared out of nowhere” and charged at the men.

One of the perpetrators, identified as Luteni Muharukua, fell as he was trying to escape and the animal inflicted a severe leg injury upon him.“His friends took and hid him (Muharukua) on a nearby mountain, and he was arrested there the next day by the police,” Simson Shilongo, police officer, told The Namibian.

According to the policeman, Muharukua was undergoing hospital treatment under police guard.The Namibian accompanied the story with a cartoon captioned: “The poacher, poached!”

Rhinos are being poached for their horns, the market value of which derives from their being considered to have powerful health-restoring properties in many Asian countries. The price of a rhino horn on the black market can reach up to $ 60,000 per kilogram ($ 1,700 per ounce), according to the Poaching Facts website.

Seven rhinos were killed by illegal hunters in Etosha National Park between June 2016 and June 2017, The Namibian reported earlier.

HSBC Holdings Plc is lining up Mark Tucker, currently chief executive of insurer AIA Group Ltd, to be the next chairman of Europe’s biggest bank, sources with direct knowledge of the matter said on Sunday.

Regulators in Hong Kong and London have signalled they will approve the appointment, one of the sources said, paving the way for Tucker to take up the role in the autumn.

Tucker, the former head of insurer Prudential, and once a trainee professional soccer player in Britain, would become HSBC‘s first ever externally-appointed chairman at a bank renowned in the industry for recruiting from within.

The appointment would mark the end of an era at HSBC, ending one of the longest-serving chairman and chief executive pairings at a European bank and would likely trigger the search for a replacement to CEO Stuart Gulliver.

Gulliver will leave the bank in 2018, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The announcement about Gulliver’s departure and Tucker’s joining is expected to come after AIA confirms Tucker’s departure in a statement expected early Monday in Hong Kong, the Journal reported.

A spokeswoman for HSBC said the lender would nominate a chairman to replace Douglas Flint this year, as previously announced.

“Our process remains on track and the timetable is unchanged,” she said in an email.

Tucker took the helm of Hong Kong-based insurer AIA, formerly the Asian arm of U.S. insurer AIG, in 2010.

Having led AIA’s stock market flotation in the same year, Tucker has since overseen the insurer’s expansion in Asia across 18 markets to become the world’s second-largest life insurer with a market capitalisation of over $ 78 billion.

His experience leading both a large Britain-based company and a Hong Kong-listed insurer will stand him in good stead to oversee HSBC, whose most profitable markets are in Britain and the Asian financial hub.

Tucker is currently a non-executive director at U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs, a role he will have to resign from when he takes the chairman’s seat at HSBC.

Last month, HSBC said the bank was not a position where it had a shortlist of candidates to replace Flint, but expected to identify his successor this year.

Sky News first reported the potential appointment on Saturday.

Flint, 61, became chairman of HSBC in 2010 after serving as its finance director since 1995. He and Gulliver have spent the last few years shrinking HSBC, exiting more than 80 businesses and cutting over 43,000 jobs as the post-2008 crisis environment proved harsh for global mega-banks.

Flint in recent years attempted to strike a conciliatory tone with often hostile investors at the bank’s annual general meetings, where he often came under fire over perceived excessive pay for top HSBC bankers.

He has also been at the forefront of the banking industry’s lobbying after Britain’s vote to leave the European Union, testifying before the upper house of parliament that banks need a longer transition period than the two years currently set out after article 50 is triggered to start exit talks.

If you’ve been thinking that the Apple TV’s hardware has needed a shot in the arm lately, it looks like you’re not alone. Bloomberg reports that Apple has hired Timothy Twerdahl, an executive who has spent most of the last four years serving as Director and General Manager of Amazon’s Fire TV team. Twerdahl’s extensive resume includes years of experience with hardware and TV projects, including three years at Palm, two at pre-Google Motorola, half a year at Netflix, almost two years at Roku, and three years as VP of Products at WIMM Labs, a wearable device maker acquired by Google back in 2013.

Pete Distad, a former Hulu executive who had been managing the Apple TV team, isn’t being let go. Rather, Twerdahl’s hiring will free him up to focus on “content deals,” possibly for Apple’s nascent scripted TV and movie projects.

The fourth-generation Apple TV represented a major overhaul of Apple’s longtime “hobby” project when it was released in October of 2015. It got a brand-new and dramatically faster CPU and GPU thanks to the Apple A8, it threw out the old iOS-lite Apple TV operating system for a new one with a revamped interface and more iOS APIs, and it picked up its own App Store and SDK. Yet despite CEO Tim Cook’s belief that “the future of TV is apps,” the platform seems to have stalled since then. You can find apps for most streaming video services (Amazon is the lone major holdout and its promised Apple TV app never materialized), but Apple’s gaming ambitions have sputtered. Even the new TV app, one of tvOS’ most visible additions in the last 16 months and another effort to fix streaming boxes’ “where the hell can I watch this” problem, is hobbled by its lack of support for Netflix.

Apple has poached Timothy D. Twerdahl, former director and GM of Amazon’s Fire TV unit, in an effort to revive its struggling Apple TV business, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Twerdahl’s will oversee product marketing for Apple TV, the report said. Twerdahl’s LinkedIn page says he joined Apple this month.

Twerdahl spent nearly four years at Amazon, after joining the company’s Fire TV unit in 2013. Prior to that, he’s held a number of positions at WIMM Labs, Roku, and Netflix.

Twerdahl replaces Pete Distad, who has moved to Apple’s content team, run by Eddie Cue.

The hiring comes at a time when Apple TV has struggled to gain much traction. In its most recent earnings, Apple CFO Luca Maestri blamed Apple TV for the “other” category’s sales decline.

Amazon hasn’t disclosed any sales numbers of its Fire TV, but often calls its TV streaming device the best-selling device on its e-commerce site.
