White House chief of staff Mark Meadows speaks on a phone on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, before President Donald Trump's departure on Marine One.

  • A former technical adviser to the January 6 committee discussed the investigation with "60 Minutes."
  • Denver Riggleman said texts from Mark Meadows showed a "roadmap" to overturning the election.
  • Meadows was receiving texts about the alternate electors plot just days after the election.

A former technical adviser to the January 6 committee said texts former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows turned over provide "irrefutable" proof of a plot to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Denver Riggleman, a former Republican congressman, made the comment during an interview with CBS News' "60 Minutes" on Sunday. He said Meadows' texts showed a "roadmap" for how allies of former President Donald Trump were trying to overturn the election.

"It showed actually the evolution of the beginning arguments from alternate electors all the way through rally planning, all the way to day of," he said.

Host Bill Whitaker asked Riggleman to confirm his belief that Meadows' texts "provide irrefutable, time-stamped proof of a comprehensive plot at all levels of government to overturn the election."

Riggleman responded affirmatively: "Irrefutable. Early in the text messages they were talking about alternate electors, you know, I think as soon as November 5th or November 6th."

Whitaker went on to note the many text messages Meadows had received in the days after the election, including one from Donald Trump Jr. in which he explained an alternate electors plan that would allow his father to win pending Congress's actions on January 6.

Meadows, who was Trump's chief of staff from 2020 to 2021, was also receiving texts about how to address the "stolen" election from people like MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Insider previously compiled a list of all the texts Meadows had received while the January 6 insurrection was unfolding.

"The Meadows text messages show you an administration that was completely eaten up with a digital virus called QAnon and conspiracy theories: an apocalyptic, messianic buffoonery. You can look at the text messages as that roadmap, but it's also a look into the psyche of the Republican party today," Riggleman said.

Riggleman noted it's unclear if Meadows turned over all of his relevant texts but said "what we got is pretty valuable."

A lawyer for Meadows did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Death in Paradise fans spot Dwayne Myers plot hole throwing investigation into doubt https://briefnews.eu/death-in-paradise-fans-spot-dwayne-myers-plot-hole-throwing-investigation-into-doubt/ https://briefnews.eu/death-in-paradise-fans-spot-dwayne-myers-plot-hole-throwing-investigation-into-doubt/#respond Fri, 19 Mar 2021 22:47:34 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/death-in-paradise-fans-spot-dwayne-myers-plot-hole-throwing-investigation-into-doubt/

The team then looked into Cedrik’s death further determined to find out exactly what happened – and they soon found that Cedrik had died more suspiciously than originally thought.

In a key part of the plot, Dwayne’s phone unfortunately gave away a huge error; it revealed the date was Saturday, July 4, when in fact July 4 of that year took place on a Monday.

Viewers have taken to online sites to point out the mistake, with one sharing it on-site Movie Mistakes, which allows viewers to discuss plot holes.

Classing it as a factual error, they said: “Dwayne’s phone during the intro says it’s Saturday July 4th. The episodes (memorial banner, death certificate) takes place in 2016, when July 4th was a Monday.”

Sadly, this wasn’t to be, and this week’s instalment had angry fans complaining their drawn out romance is just as played out as Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David’s (Cote de Pablo).

Once the new episode wrapped up on Tuesday, viewers flooded social media to vent their frustrations with yet another ‘Ellick’ let down.

Over on Reddit, user luis-can-jump posted: “This last episode is just a discount of the Tony and Ziva shipping container episode in my opinion.”

Several fans concurred, with one adding: “I thought the same thing. Haven’t we seen this before?”

The Walking Dead season 10: Glaring Lucille and Negan ‘plot hole’ exposed in new trailer https://briefnews.eu/the-walking-dead-season-10-glaring-lucille-and-negan-plot-hole-exposed-in-new-trailer/ https://briefnews.eu/the-walking-dead-season-10-glaring-lucille-and-negan-plot-hole-exposed-in-new-trailer/#respond Mon, 25 Jan 2021 01:00:16 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/the-walking-dead-season-10-glaring-lucille-and-negan-plot-hole-exposed-in-new-trailer/

A new trailer for the final six episodes of The Walking Dead season ten may have opened up a huge plot hole in the series.

The additional episodes for the delayed tenth season will act as the penultimate chapter for the flagship series before season eleven puts an end to the apocalyptic epic.

Newcomer Hilarie Burton is set to play Lucille, the dead wife of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s somewhat reformed Negan, who became one of the series’ most popular villains at the end of season six.

Although Lucille was said by Negan to have died shortly after the deadly outbreak, she lives on in the series as the namesake for the Savior leader’s bludgeoning baseball bat.

When the new footage was released recently on Twitter, one fan took issue with a scene which showcased Lucille’s role in the early stages of the zombie apocalypse.

They wrote: “Note that Negan says that Lucille died of cancer before the pandemic, yet we see her kill a prowler.”

Die-hard fans of the popular series may take issue with the claim, as Negan initially said his wife died of pancreatic cancer in the early days of the zombie takeover.

The revelation took place between Negan and Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) when they were trapped in a trailer in the episode ‘The Big Scary U’ following an attack on the Sanctuary.

However, a later conversation which took place in season ten between Negan and the Whisperer leader Alpha (Samantha Morton) may have caught the former Saviour in a lie.

One fan recalled on Reddit: “What I am puzzled about though is that in 08×05 he tells Gabriel that Lucille died “during this” (the outbreak), but in 10×12 he tells Alpha that he lost her before walkers showed up.

“And now in the 10C trailer they clearly show Lucille alive and killing walkers. Got some continuity issues there.”

In the trailer, Lucille is sporting a wig and appears frail and tired, indicating she is currently undergoing treatment for her cancer.

Sadly, the sight of her taking out an approaching walker with a pistol flies in the face of what had already been set up in the series, depending on which episode you’re referring too, of course.

With a number of Walking Dead spin-offs already on the horizon to extend the series after the final season, the sprawling narrative is only going to get more complicated.

Even so, it’s disappointing to see the long-running zombie franchise failing to keep hold of the narrative at such a pivotal moment in the series.

The Walking Dead season 10 returns Sunday, February 28 on AMC.

Moreover, there’s still the question of some 90 tonnes of gold to be smuggled out along with the surviving crew.

Production is currently underway in Milan, but viewers have already raised their concerns about whether showrunner Álex Pina will be able to deliver the goods in Part Five.

One fan took to Reddit to speculate if the Professor actually has contingencies in place to spring his team from the Bank of Spain, or if he’s been making things up as he goes along.

Redditor purplerainbowsrule posted: “So many characters in Parts 3 and 4 have said that melting the 90 tons of gold is the only way the team are going to escape the bank, but what is the importance of this?”

Vikings plot hole: History viewers baffled by Hvitserk and Ivar error ‘Did they forget?’ https://briefnews.eu/vikings-plot-hole-history-viewers-baffled-by-hvitserk-and-ivar-error-did-they-forget/ https://briefnews.eu/vikings-plot-hole-history-viewers-baffled-by-hvitserk-and-ivar-error-did-they-forget/#respond Wed, 18 Nov 2020 04:05:35 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/vikings-plot-hole-history-viewers-baffled-by-hvitserk-and-ivar-error-did-they-forget/

Drugged and plagued by hallucinations of Ivar, Hvitserk killed shieldmaiden and fan favourite Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) after mistaking her for a serpent, a representation of his rival.

However, some viewers were baffled when the pair shared a rather heartfelt reunion in the penultimate chapter of the first half of season six.

In episode nine, Resurrection, Hvitserk confessed to Lagertha’s murder, later joining Ivar to storm the beach of Vetfold and overthrow Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig).

Throughout the lengthy wait for the midseason premiere, fans have been debating the brothers’ inconsistent relationship over the last few years.

Line of Duty season 6: Jed Mercurio drops major ‘cryptic plot clue’ ahead new series https://briefnews.eu/line-of-duty-season-6-jed-mercurio-drops-major-cryptic-plot-clue-ahead-new-series/ https://briefnews.eu/line-of-duty-season-6-jed-mercurio-drops-major-cryptic-plot-clue-ahead-new-series/#respond Mon, 26 Oct 2020 00:24:23 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/line-of-duty-season-6-jed-mercurio-drops-major-cryptic-plot-clue-ahead-new-series/

Line of Duty fans are patiently waiting for series six to finish filming so editing can get underway, with the gritty crime drama set to be back on our screens next year. After the coronavirus lockdown put a delay on production, the cast and crew were spotted back at work in Belfast earlier this month and now show runner Jed Mercurio, has shared a behind the scenes snap over in Northern Ireland, claiming it to be a “cryptic clue”.

Sharing the photo to Twitter alongside the mysterious caption, fans rushed to the comments section to see if they could work out what was going on.

The photo depicted a figure standing in full PPE (very fitting for present day) staring at warehouses, one of which had “Arnotts” written across it.

Eager viewers zoomed in on the building in question and revealed it was a fruit and veg distribution centre, but couldn’t work out how it all ties in with the on-going storyline.

One wrote: “Knowing the way Jed does his stuff, it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s nothing here #LineOfDuty.”

But while everyone was getting in their theories, there were those who preferred to not have any spoilers whatsoever.

“I don’t want to know a thing until it’s on my telly. My lights are off and I can listen to every line of the brilliant script. I am really looking forward to S6,” one said.

And of course, there were the usual guesses about who the last member of Organised Crime Gang H, could be.

There are several suspects in the firing line but more recently fans have been to speculate Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) is the final corrupt officer.

Little is known about Buckells’ background but he has since made his way up through the ranks from his first appearance to Detective Inspector.

He has been on hand to offer support to AC-12’s core team, DC Fleming, DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) throughout the show, but is there a reason he keeps reappearing?

Could he be H and staying close to the AC-12 team to influence their decisions?

Line of Duty seasons 1-5 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.

Big Bang Theory plot hole: Huge error with Sheldon and Penny’s hospital trip exposed https://briefnews.eu/big-bang-theory-plot-hole-huge-error-with-sheldon-and-pennys-hospital-trip-exposed/ https://briefnews.eu/big-bang-theory-plot-hole-huge-error-with-sheldon-and-pennys-hospital-trip-exposed/#respond Sun, 18 Oct 2020 05:45:12 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/big-bang-theory-plot-hole-huge-error-with-sheldon-and-pennys-hospital-trip-exposed/

And even if she knew she was going to be, surely the time it’d take for her to pick her outfit and Sheldon to drive would have been ample enough for an ambulance to arrive?

Penny’s also well aware Sheldon’s driving skills leave a lot to be desired.

A stickler for the rules, Sheldon adheres to all of the necessary precautions that come with driving a car, from checking his mirrors to abiding by the speed limits.

If Penny was in such pain, why would she think getting dressed with Sheldon and having him drive would be quicker than calling 911?

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix UK now.

EastEnders fans ‘uncover’ plot hole with Rainie Cross’ pregnancy announcement https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-fans-uncover-plot-hole-with-rainie-cross-pregnancy-announcement/ https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-fans-uncover-plot-hole-with-rainie-cross-pregnancy-announcement/#respond Sat, 03 Oct 2020 22:09:36 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-fans-uncover-plot-hole-with-rainie-cross-pregnancy-announcement/

EastEnders fans were left baffled after last night’s instalment of the BBC soap, when a key storyline seemed to have been brushed under the carpet. Rainie Cross (played by Tanya Franks) and her beau Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) finally tied the knot in a ceremony that didn’t exactly go to plan, but there was an added bonus – she revealed she’s pregnant with his child.

While the characters were over the moon as they embarked on the next chapter of their lives together as husband and wife and soon-to-be parents, some viewers pointed out that she couldn’t possibly be pregnant due to the fact Rainie was revealed to be infertile in previous episodes.

During the show, viewers aired their views on Twitter, to see if likeminded fans were just as confused.

“As much as I love Stuart and Rainie, I’m annoyed they forgot she’s infertile. #eastenders,” one complained.

Another added: “Rainie’s pregnant seriously? Isn’t she infertile?”

READ MORE: EastEnders spoilers: Whitney Dean’s new role revealed?

“Rainie’s pregnant?! That’s such great news! (although I thought she was infertile?),” questioned a third.

Others took to Reddit to have a more in-depth debate about how producers could have forgotten this huge plot.

“I thought she was supposed to be infertile, hence her obsession with baby Abi?” one fan said, referring to her fraudulent wedding to Max Branning (Jake Wood) to ensure they gained custody of his granddaughter.

They also noted that infertility combined with her previous addition to drugs makes the situation seem “ridiculous”.

Either way, it looks like this is happening, although some believe it won’t end well for the couple as they are always destined for trouble – take their wedding for example, if getting locked in a hearse and having to say their nuptials through the window wasn’t a sign, we don’t know what is!

Elsewhere, some viewers also vented their frustrations about Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Callum Highway’s (Tony Clay) on-going storyline and called for producers to give more airtime to other characters instead.

With many sharing the same sentiment that the drama in their relationship is very “repetitive”, some have suggested to “give them a break”.

“It feels like they have been in every episode since the show returned (and before that as well),” one said.

Yellowstone plot hole: Rip’s finances error exposed as fans baffled by key scene https://briefnews.eu/yellowstone-plot-hole-rips-finances-error-exposed-as-fans-baffled-by-key-scene/ https://briefnews.eu/yellowstone-plot-hole-rips-finances-error-exposed-as-fans-baffled-by-key-scene/#respond Wed, 23 Sep 2020 03:23:57 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/yellowstone-plot-hole-rips-finances-error-exposed-as-fans-baffled-by-key-scene/

The hit Paramount series is expecting another season next year, but the finale of Yellowstone’s third instalment has left several questions unanswered. Several shocked viewers are still hung up on Rip Wheeler’s puzzling decision to dig up his mother’s grave when he was hard-up for cash.

Following an unpredictable relationship with Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly), ranch hand Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) finally realised she was the love of his life in the latest season of Yellowstone.

During the season finale, Rip decided to propose to the intelligent yet troubled daughter of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), but realised he didn’t have enough savings to afford an engagement ring.

In a strange turn of events, Rip visited his mother’s grave to dig up her own wedding ring.

Later on, Beth subverted expectations when she was the one to propose to Rip, before the episode took a dark turn and the Duttons were targeted by unseen hitmen.

Season four is hoped to arrive in 2021, and fans are eager to see the on-again off-again romance finally fulfilled; that is, if Beth actually survived the family’s latest ordeal.

Meanwhile, some viewers are still stumped as to why Rip had no money of his own to pay for a new engagement ring.

After calculating a rough overview of his finances, one perceptive fan argued he should definitely have enough savings to stretch to an engagement ring.

They took to Reddit to give an extensive run-down of the ranch hand’s salary and savings.

“And he’s certainly earning more than that now as a manager. With no other figures to go by, I’ll stick to $ 400 per week.”

Most viewers have put Rip as being in his mid-30s, so he should have acquired plenty of savings without additional accommodation costs that would have normally drained his salary.

Although Rip has some expenses, including his affinity for cold cans of beer, he doesn’t share the Duttons’ business mentality and tends to stay out of their investments.

By analysing Rip’s estimated cash flow, this fan asserted the ranch foreman could have over $ 250,000 tucked away somewhere.

While engagement rings are certainly on the expensive side, they usually fall below six figures and should really be affordable for someone like Rip.

However, another fan argued his tastes could be deceptively expensive despite his unchanging wardrobe.

Pointing out a key line, they said: “Oh s**t! Those are Kerry Kelly spurs!” Pretty sure he’s got mega expensive s**t laying around everywhere.

“Rip might not look like it but he has expensive taste. As far as the remainder of it, when the mattress gets full it goes in barrels and gets buried out back.”

As neighbouring landowners and business rivals muscle in on Dutton Ranch more each season, it’s definitely possible Rip is safeguarding his savings for personal use in case he ever has to jump ship.

Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount.
