New IAAF rules on female athletes’ testosterone levels were due to begin on Thursday, but were put on hold for five months to avoid further delaying proceedings brought by Semenya challenging their legality.

“This is not about me. I’ve achieved everything I want in life — I’m world champion, Commonwealth champion, African champion,” she said when asked why she was challenging the rules at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

“If I let this thing go on, what about the next generation? It’s killing them. What about those young girls who want to run and are maybe in the same situation as mine.

“Someone has to do something … enough is enough, it’s been a long time I let these people command.”

Semenya, with the backing of the South African Athletics federation (ASA), has turned to the Lausanne-based CAS in her challenge of IAAF rules.

Semenya, the double Olympic 800m champion (2012, 2016) and three-time world champion (2009, 2011, 2017), is potentially the highest-profile female athlete that would be affected by the regulations.

Classified as “hyper-androgynous”, athletes like Semenya would have to chemically lower their testosterone levels to be able to compete, something she says is in violation of the IAAF’s constitution and the Olympic Charter.

Semenya, who spoke at a leadership summit in Johannesburg also attended by Bill and Hillary Clinton, said she was not initially interested in challenging the rules.

“I’m a talented athlete, what I wanted to do was just piss them off a bit,” she said.

“I wanted to show them that what they’re doing doesn’t make sense because once you start classifying women it’s a problem.” Semenya said some competitors had been reluctant to back her cause. “When it comes to situations like this, we athletes sometimes get to be scared of the challenge, because we think about what we’ve got to lose. Then we forget there’s a future. There are a few others who can stand up for you,” she said.

What a week for . First MCU Cosmic claimed they learnt that Avengers Annihilation is the real title of Avengers 4.

The next day Hulk star Mark Ruffalo’s on The Tonight Show trolling the blogger be “revealing” the title.

Nevertheless Hollywood writers and insiders are convinced he said Avengers Annihilation.

Hollywood writer Daniel R has claimed: “Some people are saying ‘Come on why would they bother trolling some blogger’.”

“Here’s the thing; I know for a fact Marvel were *p***ed* and calls were made last night after the title got leaked.

“So I’m not shocked they trolled @ManaByte [Jeremy Conrad of MCU Cosmic.’ And they used Fallon for it. Well played.”

While TheDisInsider writer Styler Shuler tweeted: “Annihilation was definitely the title they were going to use, a lot of writers and insiders have found out about it…”

With this in mind perhaps Marvel will officially announce the title as Avengers Annihilation earlier than planned.

After all, a trailer for Avengers 4 isn’t expected to be released until late November and that’s when the title was thought to arrive.

This is the time that Avengers Infinity War’s first trailer hit the internet last year.

Back in the summer Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed when to expect the Avengers 4 title and trailer.

Speaking with Collider at the Ant-Man and the Wasp press day he said: “That’ll be after the Captain Marvel teaser probably, announcing that title.

“It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film.”

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.

Queensland coach Kevin Walters has revealed Ben Hunt needed cheering up after being replaced as halfback by Cherry-Evans and demoted to the bench for Wednesday’s State of Origin III.

But Walters has backed Hunt to make an impact as an interchange utility as Queensland attempt to avoid a first series whitewash by NSW since 2000 and send stand-in skipper Billy Slater out a winner.

Walters agreed Hunt had come into the game three camp “p***ed off” about losing the halfback spot.

“And rightly so. We wanted him to be disappointed,” Walters said on Tuesday.

“Ben wants to be part of this group and I know he can add some great stuff.

“He’s got great skills, he’s a tough little bugger and he’s very hard to handle defensively, and in defence he is very strong as well.

“Wherever we play him he will stand up for us.”

Walters promised St George Illawarra No.7 Hunt “plenty of match time”.

“Certainly he may play some dummy half, he may play some time in the middle as a roving type of player – we will see how the game develops,” he said.

“We know he’s a player that is comfortable at this level. He will show what he can do at this level.”

Cherry-Evans clearly has not required a Walters pep talk.

At 29, the Manly skipper has launched a Camp Maroon charm offensive as he tries to stake a long-term claim for the Queensland No.7 jersey.

There was speculation Cherry-Evans fell out with the Maroons during his last Origin stint but the Sea Eagles leader has been warmly welcomed back after his three years in the Origin wilderness.

He played the last of his six Origins in game two 2015.

Certainly Walters had been won over by Cherry-Evans.

“He’s been awesome. He’s a great fella, a great Queenslander,” Walters said.

“I am sure he is going to put in a great performance tomorrow night in front of a home crowd.”

Cherry-Evans was once booed at Queensland’s spiritual home Suncorp Stadium when he ran out for Manly after his famous 2015 backflip on an agreement to join Gold Coast.

But Walters expected Cherry-Evans to be the toast of the Maroons faithful on the same ground on Wednesday night.

“We just want DCE to be DCE. He’s a great ball runner, a great organiser, he’s a tough defender as well,” Walters said.

“His last opportunity at this level in 2015 he brought an injured shoulder into the game. He is a lot more mature now. I am excited for him.”

Last night saw newcomers Iain lee, 44, and Kezia Dugdale, 36, arrived into camp to take charge as the group were split into two rival teams. 

However, the collective made their feelings known as they all shunned Iain after he told them they all “looked f**ked”. 

In turn, every single camp mate sided with MSP Kezia but were gutted when Iain pipped her to the post in a Bushtucker trial and allowed him to handpick his own cabinet, while the remaining stars were left stranded in the dreaded Snake Rock. 

Rebekah, 35, and Georgia Toffolo, 22, were fuming after being forced to eat rice and beans for the foreseeable future while their rivals lapped it up in paradise.

“Our second defeat in 24 hours! There’s just real overtones of sadness that the other camp are doing so well,” sighed Toff. 

But Rebekah took the news even harder, venting: “Imagine having to win stars for them to eat? I ain’t doing it!”

Later, she went to the Bush Telegraph and ranted: “I really find it hard to cover up the fact that I’m pissed off. 

“I wouldn’t go into a rant about it but I think you can just look at my face and you can see that I’m fuming.”

Vanessa White, 28, tried to mediate, chipping in: “I do feel like the other camp will be feeling really sorry for us and feeling bad about that.” 

“But they didn’t refuse a cake did they,” Rebekah hit back.
