“Got a beautiful wife, beautiful kids, they’re all healthy. That’s the most important thing, you know, your health and your family.” Paris and husband Tyson have five children together already; Venezuela, 10, Prince John James, eight, Prince Tyson II, four, Valencia, three, and Prince Adonis Amaziah, 12 months. Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm. Warning: The following contains spoilers for Emily in Paris‘ finale. Proceed at your own risk! Oh la la, Emily in Paris‘ season concluded with quite a torturous cliffhanger for fans of the “will they or won’t they?” relationship between the titular heroine and her handsome neighbor Gabriel. Let’s briefly recap: Realizing that his best chance at opening his own restaurant was in Normandy, Gabriel announced that he was moving — and soon! Since his girlfriend Cami wasn’t about to leave her life in Paris, that meant the couple was officially broken up. Emily, too, was shocked by Gabriel’s big move, but at the same time, she was happy for her friend and his new venture. The pair said their awkward goodbyes, but that wasn’t how Emily wanted to leave things with Gabriel, so she rushed back to the restaurant where he works and the two passionately kissed, before taking things to the bedroom. As they lay in his bed, Gabriel noted that Normandy is not that far away. “It’s not that I can never see you again. It’s just that I don’t think I should ever see you again,” Emily replied. After all, Cami is also her friend. “We’d both be hurting someone that we care about a lot.” So what does the message mean?! “Nothing is sort of exactly as it seems to [Emily],” creator Darren Star cryptically hints, “and I think a lot of her ideas about life are constantly tested. And they will be next season, as well.” (The show’s Season 2 fate is To Be Determined, for the record.) As for Gabriel’s decision to stay, his feelings for Emily are at the forefront of his mind and his choice. “I think Emily gave him purpose again, and he had enough strength around her that he felt like he could go further with his restaurant project and actually make it happen, [whereas] he didn’t have that strength before with Camille,” Lucas Bravo, who plays the chef, tells TVLine. “Based on that, he sees Emily as his pillar, his main inspiration, his strength.” So when Antoine offers to help Gabriel, “he’s just like, ‘OK, planets are aligned,’” Bravo continues. “And she’s also the reason why he knows [Antoine]. She’s the reason why he’s going to have another opportunity, and she’s connected to everything that is happening. So she’s, obviously, the main reason he’s so happy about staying.” Meanwhile, Emily is both “deeply conflicted” and “really excited” following Gabriel’s big news, star Lily Collins describes. “She’s now more confused than ever, because Cami and her have created this real bond, and she is all about her girlfriends. But at the same time, he’s been the [constant] throughout her experience so far, being supportive and being a friend, but also something a little bit more.” So what does the future hold for the would-be couple, should the series get renewed? “What happens in the next chapter, I think, can be a real exploration of how does the relationship between these three characters evolve,” Star previews. “That, to me, is such a fun thing to explore in Season 2, because these are not Americans. They’re French people. To me, a big part of the show is looking at everything through a different lens. Season 2 will open up some interesting and surprising relationship avenues.” For his part, Bravo believes Emily and Gabriel are “definitely not in the good, this is wrong, but this is also exciting,” he says. “I think they’re both kind of lost. She’s lost in Paris, and he’s lost in his feelings. So that’s what happens, I guess, when two lost people find each other.” And Gabriel isn’t the only man pursuing Emily in the French capital: Thinking that Gabriel had already left for Normandy, Emily agreed to go to Saint-Tropez with fashion exec Mathieu. But never fear, because as Collins puts it, “I don’t see them being a great match. I see that as more of a distraction.” What did you think of the Emily in Paris finale? Are you rooting for Emily and Gabriel? Grade the episode below, then hit the comments! Parlez-vous français? If so, Emily in Paris‘ titular heroine could use your help. The Netflix comedy, from creator Darren Star (Younger, Sex and the City), follows Chicago marketing executive Emily (played by The Last Tycoon‘s Lily Collins) as she embarks on a Parisian adventure. After her boss (Private Practice‘s Kate Walsh, in an all-too-brief role) gets pregnant, Emily is sent in her place to Paris to work with the boutique French luxury firm that Emily’s company has acquired. Emily’s in awe of her scenic new surroundings and the city’s life-changing pain au chocolat. And she’s very excited to share her ideas on how to improve the firm’s social media presence, but her new colleagues Luc (Bruno Gouery) and Julien (Samuel Arnold) aren’t as thrilled about her presence. For starters, Emily doesn’t speak French (“Fake it ’til you make it!” Emily retorts), and her plucky approach to work is so very American. When Luc runs into Emily at a café, he confesses that she scares them all, because maybe now they have to work harder. Americans live to work, while the French work to live, he notes. (Case in point: Emily shows up at the office at 8:30 am, not knowing that they open their doors at 10:30 am.) Emily replies that she enjoys work and accomplishment, which Luc takes to mean that maybe she doesn’t know what it is to be happy. Emily thinks that’s a little arrogant, but Luc counters back that it’s arrogant that she came to Paris, not knowing any French. “More ignorant than arrogant,” Emily apologetically admits. But not everyone Emily meets in Paris takes a dislike to her: When she mistakes her neighbor’s apartment for her own, Emily discovers that she lives above the hunky Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and lucky for Emily, he seems amused by her. For now, though, Emily has a boyfriend in Chicago, whose suggestion that they engage in cybersex leads Emily’s vibrator to take out the power in the whole neighborhood. What did you think of Emily in Paris‘ first episode? Grade the premiere below, then hit the comments! When it comes to dream TV roles for an actress, you could argue that it doesn’t get much better than Emily in Paris. After all, the new Netflix comedy (10 episodes premiere this Friday) hails from Sex and the City and Younger creator/hitmaker Darren Star. Plus, the series filmed on location in the French capital, and the fashion is covet-worthy. “It definitely was an experience I never saw coming,” title star Lily Collins tells TVLine. “When I heard about the show and read the pilot, and I saw that Darren was doing it, and it was being shot entirely in Paris, and when he mentioned to me that [Sex and the City‘s] Patricia Field would most likely be doing costumes, I thought, ‘There’s just no way. There’s no way that this recipe is actually coming to fruition.’ I thought this is an absolute dream and something that I would have binged when it came out. So to be a part of it in this way is so special.” Below, Collins shares how Emily — a Chicago marketing exec who gets a job at a boutique Parisian firm — compares to Star’s other female lead characters and previews Emily’s busy romantic life in the City of Love. TVLINE | What qualities do you feel like Emily shares with the heroines from Darren’s other shows? TVLINE | Is there any character from Sex in the City or Younger that you think Emily would be friends with? At the end of one night, we een got to go down to the very, very bottom, to the basement, where there’s, like, a water reserve. I don’t know what it’s called, but it’s there’s these underwater-like caves that are beneath the Paris Opera House, and there are little fish…. We got to go climb all the way down at like four in the morning and look at that. It was really kind of amazing. Emily’s in a serious relationship when she goes to Paris, and then when she realizes that he’s just not willing to give to her what she would do for him, she chooses herself and her life and her experiences. She goes into this new Paris life as a very independent young woman who is ready to experience life and take on her job and whatever else comes her way. That being said, as she’s finding herself and having these experiences, she starts to become open to other possibilities, and that comes with work experiences, that comes with friendships, and then, of course, that comes with romance. Because like you said, it’s Paris, and what would Paris be without a little romance? So she finds herself in these funny situations where sometimes the cultural differences or miscommunications [reveal they are] just not the right men for her. She strikes up a friendship with Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo), and she strikes up a friendship with Gabriel’s girlfriend (Camille Razat) and doesn’t realize it, and so that adds a little wrench to the situation. But I think she’s just looking for herself and what makes her feel whole, and along the way she has these experiences that I think a lot of people can relate to. What I love about the way Emily deals with them is that she really does put herself first, and she doesn’t question who she is in determining whether or not someone’s right for her. Or if something feels inappropriate or wrong, she says it, and she moves on instead of trying to make a situation work. Because she tried to make the situation work with her boyfriend from Chicago, but realized that he was just not willing to do the same. So like I said, she put herself first. It’s really lovely to play a character that is falling in love with herself first and foremost. Ruth Langsford was back on Loose Women today and she was joined by Coleen Nolan, Saira Khan and Janet Street-Porter. Paris Fury also joined the Loose Women today to talk about her world champion boxer husband, Tyson. But when discussing whether or not Tyson would be retiring anytime soon, the women were all taken aback when Paris’ son wandered into the interview. Ruth began by asking Paris about what it was like when Tyson took time away from boxing a few years ago as his mental health took a turn for the worst. “I never knew anything about mental health,” Paris began. “And now I see it and I really think it’s such a big thing in the world, but people have opened avenues up so people are understanding more. “We were at a point of no return with Tyson, it was like he was going to go over the edge and never come back and I didn’t know what to do,” she added. After a rather loud crash in the background though, she carried on. “I don’t think retirement is something that’s going to be on the books for Tyson any time soon,” she added. Just as she said this, one of her sons jumped onto the screens and hid behind Paris’ chair. “Sorry, we have had an invasion,” Paris explained as the Loose Women all said hello. “Really sorry,” Paris continued, “No Tyson doesn’t talk about retirement, he’s trying to look forward to positivity. “And doing what he wants to be doing, staying with his boxing and this positive side. “And he has his goals to make himself feel better and I think that’s where we are at. “I wanted him to retire after the last couple of fights and I said ‘look you have made it to the top, let’s go’,” she continued. “And he said no because he thinks he has got more to give.” Loose Women airs on ITV weekdays at 12.30pm. The Twitterverse let out a collective gasp on Tuesday following some cryptic posts that suggested longtime frenemies Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are teaming up to revive The Simple Life. “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer,” read one tweet from the show’s official account, which was accompanied by a throwback photo of the presumed co-stars (seen above). Another tweet included photos of the women’s old-school bedazzled flip phones, while a third was simply of two female emojis — one blonde and one redhead. (Important note: Though this Simple Life account does not currently appear to be verified, it boasted a checkmark when the aforementioned tweets were posted. Click here for proof.) The Simple Life, which aired on Fox (2003–2005) and E! (2006–2007) for a combined total of five seasons, followed Hilton and Nicole Richie as they journeyed into America’s heartland to experience (and arguably destroy) the lives of everyday folk. Tuesday’s posts made no mention of Richie, however, leading fans to assume that Lohan would serve as her replacement. And Lohan is no stranger to reality television. Earlier this year, MTV debuted Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, which chronicled the management and growth of Lohan Beach Club Mykonos. Unfortunately, the club is now permanently closed, eliminating the need for a second season. “We have nothing to confirm at this time,” a rep for 20th Television tells TVLine. Would you watch a Hilton and Lohan-led Simple Life revival? Drop a comment with your thoughts below. Lily Collins is traveling abroad in Younger creator Darren Star’s upcoming Paramount Network dramedy Emily in Paris. Shot on location in the French capital, the series follows Emily (Collins), “a driven twenty-something from the Midwest who moves to Paris for an unexpected job opportunity,” per the official synopsis. “Tasked with bringing an American point of view to a venerable French marketing firm, cultures clash as she adjusts to the challenges of life in a foreign city, while juggling her career, new friendships and love life.” Collins — whose credits include the TV series The Last Tycoon and the Mortal Instruments movie — will also serve as an executive producer on the show, which is slated to premiere in 2020. The next day, Emily found Gabriel back at the restaurant instead of on his way to Normandy. Surprise! He’s buying the Parisian restaurant, with the help of Antoine’s financing. The happy moment was then broken up by a potentially troublesome text from Cami to Emily: “I just heard from Gabriel. He’s staying in Paris. Can we talk??”
Plus, there’s the issue of if Emily and Gabriel pursue a relationship, are they doing something wrong, especially in light of the fact that their attraction began — and a kiss transpired — while Gabriel was still dating Cami? “I think it’s really sticky,” Collins admits. “I’d probably steer clear of that, because there’s obviously been so much going on with Gabriel and Cami’s relationship. When you go to the Loire Valley and see the family and how they all interact, there’s such a deep history there. I would just let things settle.”

Emily is very passionate. She’s very work-driven and determined. She’s very smart, and she’s also witty, with a little bit of sass. Darren has created these characters that emulate all types of personalities, and I love that, because modern women have all these different types of personalities. Darren also makes sure that his women are fully rounded, and they’re in on the joke as much as they are the joke sometimes. Like, Emily is obviously in on the humor of the situation, but at the same time she falls into the situation of being laughed at, and she takes it in stride because she’s strong and resilient. I love the fact that she also has a bit of sass and stuff, too.
I think Emily, like myself, definitely grew up loving Carrie Bradshaw. I think she was a huge Sex in the City [fan]. I think she had posters on her walls and things saved in her phone and favorite episodes of shows and movies, and I really believe that when she finds out she’s going to Paris, she does think about all these images she’s seen over the years and characters that she’s watched and loved so much, and thinks, “Wow, it’s now my chance. I get to go and experience this like those characters would have.”
TVLINE | Was there a memorable experience while filming on location that really stands out for you, where something went awry or something unexpected happened?
One of the most special times of shooting was when we got to take over the Paris Opera House and shoot there at night. I was wearing this beautiful gown and this gorgeous headpiece. It was reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn, kind of a nod to her. We got to shoot all by ourselves there, and it was just so magical to be running around. When I wasn’t filming, I was just wearing, like, hotel slippers with this ball gown, taking it all in and being like, “This is a dream. What is going on?!” To be able to sit in the velvet seats and be surrounded by that history, and look up and see the gorgeous paintings on the ceiling….
TVLINE | Paris is the City of Love, and there’s certainly plenty of men in Emily’s life. What can you say about her love life and, in particular, the very charming downstairs neighbor who’s also a chef — which is like the jackpot?
It was really important for us to show her as someone who is really going on this journey in the City of Love, finding and loving herself more than anything — and through that journey, she meets all these possible suitors. Some have more comedic endings than others, and some are just fleeting moments that you think, “Oh, this is going to be a series regular”… and then all of a sudden, it ends, and you’re like, “Ooh, and then that just happened!”

France is determined to prevent home sharing services from allowing makeshift hotels, and that now includes court action. The city of Paris is suing Airbnb over 1,000 ads it says violate a law designed to limit homeowners to renting their places for no more than 120 days per year. It’s not clear just what terms the ads violated, but French law requires a registration number inside those ads to ensure they aren’t venturing past the 120-day mark. The aim is to “send a shot across the bows” and end near-constant rentals that “spoil some Parisian neighborhoods,” city mayor Anne Hidalgo told Le Journal du Dimanche in an interview.
The lawsuit could prove expensive for Airbnb. The law permits fines of 12,500 euros per illegal posting, which could leave the company paying nearly $ 14.2 million if every ad is deemed illegal.
In response, Airbnb told Reuters that it had taken steps to ensure visitors to Paris honor European law, but claimed the Parisian approach was “inefficient, disproportionate and in contravention of European rules.” It’s not going to quietly accept the allegations, then.
The firm might not have much choice but to pay out. Paris is Airbnb’s single largest market, with 65,000 listings, while France is its second most important country. If the company defied the law, it would suffer a serious financial blow and would cede control of a major tourist destination to competitors like HomeAway. A fine might be a small price to pay if it keeps business humming.

]]>“For me, it was like an explosion, to say to the world: I’m gay and I’m proud to be gay,” says Legay of the bold move and subsequent coverage.

That was 17 years ago, and while his grandmother wasn’t pleased then, she later came around. In the meantime, Legay — yes, that’s his real name, and he comes from four generations of bakers — has become a beloved figure in the Marais, in central Paris. His unmissable shop window is decorated with penis-shaped brioche, penis-shaped baguettes and penis-shaped tarts. He’s made penis-shaped croissants, he says, but it’s too much work to do every day. In January, you can find a penis-shaped galette des rois, France’s traditional holiday cake.
… tourists-in-the-know will often make a stop expressly to see the bready penises …
Before opening his bakery, the not-publicly-out Legay worked for a decade in a bank. His father had run a bakery in Nantes, near a military barracks, and a long-running family joke involved soldiers’ requests for genitalia-shaped treats. Around the turn of the millennium, Legay and his brother decided to make the request a reality and opened Legay Choc in Paris. “I said to my brother, we can’t do that in Nantes,” Legay explains. “We have to do it in Paris, in the gay district.”
When they opened, he was worried that the other bakeries would resent the gimmick, but there was no such animosity. People flocked, seeing it as a joke, and now tourists-in-the-know will often make a stop expressly to see the bready penises (which taste exactly the same and use the same recipe as a standard baguette tradition). Those who want to take one home as a souvenir can grab a specially preserved (and inedible) bread penis, bedecked in a hand-knitted hat and scarf for €5.

Like many historically gay neighborhoods in cities across the world, the Marais still shows its pride. The sidewalks and many of the businesses are decorated with rainbows, gay bars are more common than in the rest of the city and guidebooks still point out historic gay landmarks. But, Legay says, many long-running business (and longtime residents) are getting priced out of the market. The Marais is now considered prime real estate for big brands that want to capitalize on its classic French vibe, and Legay says the gay bars, restaurants and even the LGBT library are closing one after another. “It’s changing. I’m quite sure that in five or 10 years, there won’t be any gay bars in the district,” he laments.

Pro tip from Monsieur Legay: Keep an eye on the 19th arrondissement, still relatively inexpensive, which he says may be becoming the new gay district. But — while Legay is in the process of a hush-hush expansion to an as-yet-undisclosed location — it won’t have les baguettes magiques.
