With just one decision, Shaun and Lea’s lives were forever changed on Monday’s Good Doctor. When we last left off, Lea had just told Shaun that she was pregnant — and her portrayer, Paige Spara, tells TVLine that she was was particularly intrigued by the relationship twist. “I was excited to explore how Lea and Shaun would handle such abrupt news,” she tells TVLine. “Becoming pregnant has so many levels of emotions one goes through with themself and with their partner. To dive into something so deeply personal and life-changing is [compelling].” In the aftermath of the big reveal, the relatively new couple spent much of Season 4’s 12th installment, “Teeny Blue Eyes,” contemplating whether or not they were capable of bringing a child into this world. Lea talked through her doubts, first with Claire, then with Shaun, in a pair of delicate scenes, and realized that Shaun’s ASD, and whether it could potentially be inherited by their offspring, was not a determining factor in her decision. “I wanted to make sure I was speaking to all of the emotions Lea was feeling,” Spara says, which she talked through with both Freddie Highmore and executive producer David Shore. “I feel that’s important to convey — that all of these emotions can exist at the same time… [Lea] is genuinely trying to process not only her emotions, but what’s best for the baby and Shaun’s life as well.” What followed was an especially heavy moment between Shaun and Lea. They reconvened at their apartment and discussed their options moving forward. They ran down their respective lists of pros and cons, and acknowledged how complicated it would be to start a family. “I have so many reasons to do this… and so many doubts,” Lea explained. “I’m just scared, Shaun. But if we’re both having doubts, then maybe now isn’t the right time?” Shaun said “OK,” and took his girlfriend’s hand. There was nothing else that needed to be said in that moment. A decision had been made. A trip to a women’s health clinic ultimately resulted in a change of heart. In the episode’s closing moments, Lea decided that she couldn’t go through with the abortion. “I spent all day reminding myself of all the reasons why this was a good idea, but now that it’s actually happening, it doesn’t make me feel any better,” she said. “It just makes me feel really sad. Maybe it’s not the right time, but will it ever be?” With Shaun’s support, Lea decided to keep the baby — and together, they’d start a family. As for how the series will navigate Lea’s pregnancy in subsequent episodes, Spara would only say this: “In true Lea-and-Shaun form, we will be covering the experience true to the foundation of their relationship, which is [with] total honesty.” In a second, we’ll want to know what you thought of the episode — but first, a couple of other major developments worth discussing… OK, now it’s your turn! What did you think of “Teeny Blue Eyes”? Drop a comment with your full review. Warning: The following contains spoilers from the Feb. 24 episode of The Good Doctor. The Good Doctor reached a moment of clarity on Monday, in an episode that will forever change the Freddie Highmore-led medical drama. In the antepenultimate episode of Season 3, Shaun admitted to himself that while he did in fact love his ex-girlfriend Carly, the person that he wants to be with is Lea. But when he confessed his love to his best friend and said that he wanted to be her boyfriend, her response was not what he had hoped it would be — at least not entirely. “I love you, too,” she said. “But you know me. I am selfish, and I am so, so needy… I am a total mess,” and “you need things a certain way.” That’s when Shaun posed a difficult (and truly heartbreaking) question: “Because I have autism?” he asked. “You don’t want to be my girlfriend because I have autism?” Lea couldn’t bring herself to answer. Overcome with emotion, she walked out of the apartment without saying another word, as a single tear dropped from Shaun’s eye. In separate interviews, TVLine spoke with Highmore (who also directed the episode), as well as his co-star, Paige Spara, about that pivotal Shaun/Lea moment and where the series’ central couple goes from here. TVLINE | Freddie, this is the second episode you’ve had the chance to direct, following Daniel Dae Kim’s Season 2 debut. What was different about this experience from your last? TVLINE | Paige, when did it dawn on you just how big of a moment this was in the Shaun/Lea relationship? There’s really no turning back after that final scene… TVLINE | It sounds like the scene was ultimately shaped by the conversation. TVLINE | But instead it was just— TVLINE | It sounds like Freddie was able to construct the scene in a way that might not have happened had you been in the hands of a different director. TVLINE | Freddie, what stood out to you when you first read the script? TVLINE | What did you make of Lea’s inability to respond when Shaun asked if his autism is preventing them from being together? TVLINE | Paige, what is your take on Lea’s response (or lack thereof)? Was she reckoning with this horrible truth, as Freddie suggested? Was she too overwhelmed to get out words? TVLINE | How do you expect the audience to react to Lea’s silence? TVLINE | Moving forward, has Shaun lost hope that he’ll ever be with Lea? TVLINE | Where do we pick up in the following episode? What did you think of The Good Doctor Season 3, Episode 16: “Autopsy”? And what’s your take on the final scene? Drop your thoughts in a comment below. The film – an adaptation of a documentary of the same name – stars Florence Pugh as Paige, with writing and direction from Stephen Merchant. And the Norfolk-born 26-year-old retired wrestler has explained her relief that audiences are responding to her story so warmly. Speaking to Collider, she said: “I wasn’t surprised about the reviews. “The surprising thing is just how many people loved it.” Indicating Merchant, she said: “I can see that he’d be nervous because he wrote and directed it. “So I’m sitting there like, ‘I hope people like my story. I hope they’re not gonna walk out, like ‘this just isn’t that cool, this isn’t that interesting’. “But people loved it, the ratings are so great. I Google it every day.” Fighting With My Family has finally found its way to UK cinemas this weekend, and Paige has also spoken out about how much she endorses Pugh’s performance as her. In a video for WWE, Pugh asked her: “Please describe how you think I did portraying you?” “Terrible!” Paige joked. As Pugh cackled, she clarified: “See, that’s a lie! I’m lying!” More earnestly, she said: “To be thrown into the deep end like this, she did a great job.” Dwayne Johnson co-stars as himself in the film, with Jack Lowden as Paige’s older brother, Nick Frost as her father and Lena Headey as her mother. Vince Vaughn, Julia Davis and Merchant also have supporting roles. The film currently has an impressive 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus reading: “Much like the sport it celebrates, Fighting with My Family muscles past clichés with a potent blend of energy and committed acting that should leave audiences cheering.” Fighting With My Family is out now.RELATED STORIES
Shaun, meanwhile, broke the news to Dr. Glassman. The hospital head was happy for the young couple, but warned his surrogate son that having a child changes everything. Shaun also had some one-on-one time with Claire, who assured him that he’d adapt and grow to become a fantastic father, just like he did to become a surgeon.
“David Shore explored both Lea and Shaun’s emotions without it ever feeling unbalanced,” Spara says. She also credits the episode’s director, Rebecca Moline, for how this particular scene turned out. Moline was there “to navigate all the complexities we were trying to convey,” and “created such a safe space.” Along with Highmore, “Rebecca allowed me to find [what Lea was feeling] and hear my take on it first, respectfully. The wonderful thing about that is it creates an encouraging atmosphere… I felt very supported and encouraged by those two.”
* When Park admitted he had feelings for Morgan, she told him to pack his things and move out of her apartment. As he headed out, she gave him one last chance to admit he was just messing with her, but he couldn’t do that. His feelings are true. That’s when she told him it was good they were no longer roommates and kissed him! “This is a one-time thing… unless I change my mind,” she said. “So consider that an incentive.”
* Another newbie dropped out of the surgical program: At the end of the hour, Enrique decided he wasn’t O.R. material. He’d continue his residency at Johns Hopkins, where they’ll train him to head out into the world and help those in needy areas — much more his speed. Before he left, Dr. Guerin told Claire that she’s always doing so much for other people, and she needs to do something for herself every now and then. And so Claire returned home, climbed into bed and gathered information on a potential trip to Paris.

HIGHMORE | Last year, it was really exciting to introduce Dr. Han, and to kick the end of the season off in a new direction. This was a little bit [different]. You had this one especially big moment [at the end of the episode between Shaun and Lea] that was a long time coming.
SPARA | When it finally hit me differently was actually when we were rehearsing the scene… I couldn’t say [the words] without getting emotional, and that’s never happened to me before. Then I was nervous because I was, like, “Okay, is that going to happen every take?”
TVLINE | It must have been special to have Freddie direct this particular episode. Did the two of you take a second to acknowledge the significance of this one, and what it means for your characters moving forward?
SPARA | Yeah, absolutely. You know, he’s such a great director and partner to have because he’s so generous with his time, and he really gives you space to kind of understand this pain individually and what it means for you, and then he’s able to go at it from that angle, giving you that emotional freedom to kind of feel what you need to feel for that scene, and then he’ll work around that. Toward the end of the scene, it was even hard for me to say the lines.
SPARA | It was originally written, “I’m so sorry, Shaun,” and then I kiss his cheek and walk away.
SPARA | … Just look at him and convey however you feel to Shaun in that moment, and walk away when you feel like you need to walk away. And to get that freedom, especially with network TV, is very rare… and the fact that [Freddie] knew what that scene entailed and what it called for, and actually gave me permission to do that, that was huge. I feel like it made the scene what it was actually supposed to be about, yet relatable to anyone who has dealt with such a hard conversation.
SPARA | Absolutely. Freddie [has] such a curious mind when it comes to relationship dynamics and why things are the way they are, and he can pull from that curiosity and apply it to [the scene], as opposed to just getting the take, getting the boxes checked. It’s never about that for him. His work always… comes from a place of openness and curiosity, and I think that is just so needed, especially for [relationship drama], because, you know, what the f—k are relationships? They’re so f—king confusing…
HIGHMORE | It’s always much more interesting to leave things unsaid, or leave things hinted at when one can, instead of being overly explicit. The last scene is an example of that. [Executive producer] David Shore is aware of that, and [fellow EP] David Hoselton, the writer on this episode, [does] such a good job of making those emotional moments land without them feeling overwritten.
HIGHMORE | I think that Shaun has hit on a horrible truth that Lea has perhaps not thought about before this moment. Her lack of response… at least signals that there’s something [to] what Shaun is saying.
SPARA | I think it was just a cluster of both of those [things]… Lea does love Shaun. Lea does have a bond with Shaun. That would be her person. However, would she be the person for him? I can’t be selfish in this moment and just say, “I love you. Let’s give this a shot.” There are so many other outside factors that are at play here, and… it’s this uncomfortable reckoning of being responsible for someone else, not just under the umbrella of love, but in a different way for someone else’s wellbeing… and I think that hit her in that moment. That’s why it’s just so overwhelming [and] a bit confusing.
TVLINE | What sort of thoughts do you think are racing through Lea’s mind?
HIGHMORE | I think there’s a part of her that sort of hates herself in this moment. She feels that Shaun is the person that she should be with, and she recognizes that they’ve got this bond, or that they share these kindred spirits, but for whatever reason — and perhaps it has to do with the question that Shaun asks — she just can’t commit to [him], and she doesn’t understand that about herself. She’s questioning whether she’s a good person for even thinking these things or having those thoughts in her head.
SPARA | I think she hates the fact that she is feeling this kind of way, and she’s looking in the eye of this [man] that love her, and she just doesn’t know what to do with it. What does it mean and where [does] it fit in her life and in his life? … I think it’s really hard for her to not know that answer in that moment. And it’s also scary because even when she looks ahead, she still doesn’t see an answer, and then she’s just feeling very, very vulnerable and also admitting the love that she has.
HIGHMORE | One of the really important things [to remember], and hopefully that comes across about this last scene, is [that the audience shouldn’t hate Lea] for feeling the way that she feels. She isn’t prejudiced toward Shaun because he has autism. It’s not as simple as that.
HIGHMORE | He’s a pretty dogged person, so he doesn’t see this as being… something that they can never get past, or discuss to try and understand [Lea’s feelings] on a deeper level.
SPARA | You’ll find these characters addressing that conversation and addressing the questions that were brought up… We will see Shaun handle it in his way, Lea handle it in her way, and when those two ways come together, we’ll actually see why Lea [was] hesitant in the first place.

Sometimes, being “Instagram famous” isn’t much fun. Sure, you might have millions of adoring fans. And yes, brands might give you sponsorship money for exposure on your account. But the dark side of social media stardom is the harassment and stalking you get from obsessive fans. Many users say Instagram has a harassment problem that the company has failed to deal with.
On the 20,000-seat centre stage at the Web Summit tech conference in Lisbon this year, I participated in a panel about social media with UFC fighter Paige VanZandt and model/actress Charlotte McKinney, who have 1.9 million and 1.4 million Instagram fans, respectively.See the rest of the story at Business Insider

Humboldt native Paige Crozon decided to keep competing at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday in the wake of the horrific crash back home in Saskatchewan, scoring 10 points for Canada’s women’s basketball team in a 100-61 loss to Australia.
A Canada Basketball spokesman said the 23-year-old Crozon had chosen to keep playing following the accident that saw a semi-trailer collide with a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos hockey team.
The accident left 15 dead and 14 others injured.
Today I have a heavy heart. Humboldt was the community that raised me. Sending all my thoughts and prayers back home

“Given the difficult nature of the situation, the [Canadian basketball] team would prefer to not do interviews on the subject at this time,” the spokesman said.
Crozon played collegiate basketball at Utah and professionally in Germany.
The community of Humboldt will gather Sunday night to mourn at the home arena of the Broncos junior hockey team — which had been scheduled to continue its playoff series this evening at the Elgar Petersen Arena.
As of early Sunday morning, a crowdfunding effort on the website GoFundMe had raised more than $ 2.9 million for the players and families affected by the crash.

Two burning questions remained atop Wednesday’s super-sized Famous in Love premiere, one of which was answered immediately — and with mixed reactions.
Neighbours favourite Paige (played by Olympia Valance) has been an integral part of Erinsborough since 2014.
However, the brunette bombshell revealed she would be leaving the popular Australian soap last year.
And now it seems she will be quit today in emotional scenes.
Paige has been involved in a big love triangle of late, involving Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley) and Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor).
She had been back and forth between each of them for weeks and it seems it has really taken its toll on them.
Today, Paige will depart for a new life with baby Gabe.
But the beauty will not be alone as she departs, with Olympia’s famous step-dad making an unexpected appearance.
Ross Wilson, from Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, will be starring in Paige’s final scenes.
Olympia, who has recently moved to Los Angeles, expressed her delight at having a familiar face on set.
She gushed: “It was so lovely to have such a close family member at the studio during my final week of filming, it made it very special.”
Olympia won’t be the only one to bid a seemingly temporary farewell to the soap, as Andrew Morley moves away from Ramsay Street.
The 28-year-old definitely caused a stir when he arrived on Neighbours.
He is perhaps best known for the shock revelation when he revealed he was a priest.
Jack then had to overcome his struggles with religion as he wondered whether it was acceptable for him to pursue his relationship with Paige despite dedicating his life to God.
He emotionally decided to leave the church in a bid to win Paige’s heart – but she was off with another man.
But as two Neighbours residents leaves, one more arrives.
This week saw Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) crash into Erinsborough.
The brunette beauty arrived with a bang as she instantly clashed with Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta).
She recently teased her upcoming scenes to Express.co.uk, saying there’s big drama to come.
Neighbours airs weekdays on Channel 5 at 1.45pm and is repeated at 5.30pm.
“See you later… Paige Dineen?!”
In this exclusive sneak peek from Monday’s episode of Scorpion (CBS, 10/9c), Paige takes an unplanned plunge into a bayou, leaving her smack dab in the path of a toothy predator.
Elsewhere in the episode, Paige teaches Walter the concept of a “white lie,” while Sylvester and Ralph help Patty when the mean girls at her school force her to get a dreaded tardy slip.

This week on CBS’ Scorpion, the team’s smarties turn a bit dumb, putting Paige in an especially unique position to save the day.
In the fantastically titled episode “Dumbster Fire” (airing tonight at 10/9c), Walter, Toby, Happy and Sylvester are deep underground on assignment — to prevent no less that the creation of a black hole — when their time spent subject to increased air pressure impairs their mental faculties.
In the sneak peak above, for example, a simple homonym sends Sylvester off an a musical tangent, as the team races to resuscitate an unconscious Toby by vacuum-sealing his head. (It’s a long story.) Can Paige, running comms from topside, get the team back on track? That is, when she isn’t being moved by “dopey” Walter’s enhanced EQ? Press play above to watch the ex-waitress work her science-simplifying magic.
