This Morning viewers have seen Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes host This Morning together for 14 years and are hugely popular with ITV viewers. However, it was reported last weekend the duo had been dropped from their slot on Friday’s editions of the morning daytime show. Now, it’s been claimed they could be back on-screen elsewhere as the BBC look to give them a new gig. 

Ruth and Eamonn appeared on Friday morning’s edition of the daytime show as normal but it came just days after rumours they had been axed from their roles in a shock move from ITV. 

This Morning favourite Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are said to be gearing up to replace them.

The pair had impressed show bosses with their chemistry when they stepped in for Ruth and Eamonn during the summer. 

Despite Alison and Dermot’s reported appointments pleasing fans of the hosts, some This Morning viewers were gutted to hear the report that Ruth and Eamonn had been dropped.

However, a TV source has revealed the pair could be making a move to the BBC as the broadcaster looks to poach them after being dropped.

“Eamonn and Ruth have a huge fanbase and are very experienced.

“They can easily carry any number of shows, so producers at the Beeb are considering handing them a format to front,” a source told The Sun. 

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes as well as the BBC for comment on reports. 

It comes after reported new host Dermot O’Leary spoke out on the prospect of the new role, noting he didn’t want to “tread on anyone’s toes.”

Speaking to Ireland AM on Thursday, The X Factor veteran said: “Of course, I hope so, but like you said it is always tricky when there are colleagues and friends involved. 

“There’s nothing confirmed yet, but you know, we enjoyed doing the summer, so we’d like to do more.’ 

“But at the same time, you don’t want to tread on anyone’s toes or treat anyone badly,” he added 

It’s not yet known when Ruth and Eamonn will be waving goodbye to the ITV show as they continued to appear on Friday morning. 

And fans are reluctant to see the pair go, with one fan saying on Twitter: “Ruth and Eamonn absolutely make this morning, stupid to get rid of them #thismorning.”

“@ITV you’ll be mad to get rid of Eamonn and Ruth. Only watch the show on Fridays now for them #ThisMorning,” agreed another.

A third wrote: “#ThisMorning Please don’t get rid of Eamonn and Ruth, they’re Brilliant! I won’t be watching the dreadful Dermot O’dreary.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.

Father and coach of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abdulmanap, says his son has been offered 15 million dollars for a rematch with Irish MMA superstar Conor McGregor, but they are aiming for the offer twice as big.

In an interview with Russian media outlet Sport 24, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov spoke on a range of topics, including his son’s life-changing victory over McGregor at UFC229, a possible boxing match with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his next UFC fight plans.

“As an active fighter, defending his UFC belt, Khabib has 3-4 fights left,” Nurmagomedov Sr. said regarding his sons plans within the promotion, while also indicating that seeing his son fighting in Russia is one of his biggest desires.

“I always had this dream – one fight (in Russia). Wherever, whenever, whoever. For the UFC to give us that. And I will be fighting for that right. We’ve spent almost an eternity (in the sport). With injuries, and without them, thinking of retiring, thinking of staying, thinking of the health. We came back, we proved our point, we won it. That is it. There is no motivation left. We won the belt, defended it.”

A recent phishing campaign targeting US government officials, activists, and journalists is notable for using a technique that allowed the attackers to bypass two-factor authentication protections offered by services such as Gmail and Yahoo Mail, researchers said Thursday. The event underscores the risks of 2fa that relies on one-tap logins or one-time passwords, particularly if the latter are sent in SMS messages to phones.

Attackers working on behalf of the Iranian government collected detailed information on targets and used that knowledge to write spear-phishing emails that were tailored to the targets’ level of operational security, researchers with security firm Certfa Lab said in a blog post. The emails contained a hidden image that alerted the attackers in real time when targets viewed the messages. When targets entered passwords into a fake Gmail or Yahoo security page, the attackers would almost simultaneously enter the credentials into a real login page. In the event targets’ accounts were protected by 2fa, the attackers redirected targets to a new page that requested a one-time password.

“In other words, they check victims’ usernames and passwords in realtime on their own servers, and even if 2 factor authentication such as text message, authenticator app or one-tap login are enabled they can trick targets and steal that information too,” Certfa Lab researchers wrote.

Google is searching Berlin for some trendy real estate to call home – a place that reflects the company’s unofficial, recently scrapped motto, “Don’t Be Evil.” Hey, what about the ex-headquarters of East Germany’s secret police?

Our story begins innocently enough. The tech giant had originally planned to open its Google Campus startup hub in Berlin’s uber hipster district of Kreuzberg – shocking, we know – but disaster soon struck. Party-pooping locals organized against the move, citing the threat of rising rents and a general distaste for data-gobbling Silicon Valley behemoths.

Luckily, the Berlin district of Lichtenberg has a long, proud tradition of hosting data lovers: District officials have generously offered Google the former headquarters of the East German Stasi.

The plan has been endorsed by Danny Freymark, who sits in Berlin’s state parliament and is a member of Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU). According to Freymark, Google would be an ideal investor to bring “democracy” to the old secret police stomping grounds. The plan has reportedly also received support from other local officials, with one correctly noting that the area was perfect for Google because there is no risk of “gentrification.”

District Mayor Michael Grunst is reportedly already in talks with Google about the company putting down roots in Lichtenberg – although it’s not clear if he’s brought up the plan to “reinvent” the old Stasi HQ.

The Germans – who are vaguely acquainted with the potential dangers of unaccountable organizations compiling cradle-to-grave dossiers on all living things – thought that the real estate deal was a swell idea. 

“Google in the old Stasi building – would say that fits!” noted civil rights activist and writer Katharina Nocun.

Google has not yet commented on the proposal, according to German media reports.

The Staatssicherheit, or Stasi, was the intelligence, espionage and counterintelligence service of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The organization was infamous for its obsessive and meticulous surveillance of East Germans.

In other words: Tear up the tacky 80s carpets and add a few bean-bag chairs to the isolation cells, and bam! Good as new.

That is the claim from NBA insider Stephen A. Smith.

Reports emerged recently that James’ free agency signing could hinder the Lakers’ hopes of landing Leonard this summer or next due to the forward’s introverted personality.

Well-connected Yahoo reporter Shams Charania also claimed that the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year has “no interest” in joining a superteam, which he likely would be doing in joining James at Staples Center.

And that leaves the Clippers as a possible destination with the 27-year-old desperate to leave the San Antonio Spurs to play in his California hometown.

A trade to the Lakers is still on the cards this summer, although the Clippers do not have the assets to enter the equation. Their best hope is for Leonard to become an unrestricted free agent in 12 months’ time.

ESPN analyst Smith believes that if that were to happen, the Clippers might have a strong chance of landing Leonard but insists it is dependent on Lakers trade talks failing to come to fruition.

“I haven’t heard that at all,” Smith said in response to rumours Leonard does not want to play alongside James. 

“I’ve talked about how Kawhi, playing in Los Angeles, he’s not about the glitz and the glamour and the paparazzi-type atmosphere. 

“If someone said that was the cause, that would be different. But saying he doesn’t want to play second banana, meaning he wants the ball and to be the number one offensive option – I’m not sure that’s so important to him. 

“I’ve also reported that Kawhi Leonard has made it clear, even though the Lakers are his preference – if that doesn’t work out, he’s willing to be a Clipper. So long as he’s in Los Angeles, fine. 

“He would prefer the Lakers but the Clippers are fully aware that he wouldn’t mind them if the Lakers scenario didn’t work out. 

“In their own subtle ways they have been attempting to manipulate San Antonio to hold off on sending Kawhi to the Lakers. 

“Because if indeed they hold off and the Clippers are in a position next summer where Kawhi is still on the open market and they have the max contract dollars to pay him, they believe their chances are incredibly legitimate to land him. 

“All Kawhi wants to do is get out of San Antonio, end up in LA. Whether it’s for the Lakers or the Clippers he can stomach it, so long as he returns home. 

“That’s what I’ve been told. They’re hopeful that San Antonio won’t cave and give him away to the Lakers or that somehow, someway his arrival to the Lakers can be derailed for them to legitimately compete.

“The Clippers can make the argument that it would be the environment that Kawhi wants because his personality veers towards something like that.”

Tesla doesn’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to employee relations. Reports from the automaker’s factory in Fremont, California, talk about speed taking precedence over quality in assembling cars, and that forced overtime caused some preventable injuries. Today, The Guardian reports that company emails show Tesla wanted to pay off an employee who was allegedly the victim of racial discrimination so that the details were kept out of the media.

The emails were given to The Guardian by DeWitt Lambert’s lawyer. Lambert was one of three employees that filed a discrimination suit against Tesla last fall. According to the lawsuit, the three employees were taunted with racial slurs and racist drawings by other employees. At the time, Tesla told The Mercury News that it received no notice that the employees were the victims of racism.

The emails date to March of 2017 and were part of Tesla’s settlement deal with Lambert. “In terms of settlement, we are willing to pay Mr. Lambert [redacted], but only if we are to resolve this matter before there is media attention, preferably within the next few hours,” the Tesla general counsel Todd Maron wrote.

In a statement to The Guardian, Tesla did not deny the email’s contents, but clarified that it was responding to Lambert’s attorney’s demand for more money. Tesla would take back its offer if details of Lambert’s complaints were given to the media.

“I said no. We don’t have the money enough to buy Pogba because he is so expensive.”

The France international got wind of the story from Guardiola was clearly shocked by the City bosses quotes.

He responded on Twitter with a picture of him in training holding his hand to his ear, accompanied with the caption: “Say what?”
