Sarah Ferguson, 58, will see her youngest daughter Princess Eugenie, 28, marry her fiancé Jack Brooksbank on October 12.

The pair are set to marry at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle – which is the same venue as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials earlier this year.

The bride and groom-to-be have invited 1,200 members of the public to watch the occasion from the grounds of Windsor Castle, with ITV televising the event during a special episode of This Morning.

But, will the mother of the bride, Fergie, mark the happy occasion by delivering a speech at the reception?

While some plans for the big day have been revealed, the actual itinerary for the reception is currently unknown.

The pair will marry at 11am, and following their nuptials, a small carriage procession will take place through the town of Windsor.

Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Eugenie’s paternal grandmother, will then host a reception at Windsor Castle.

A black-tie evening reception will follow at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where the bride’s parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, reside.

According to The Daily Telegraph, there will be a second day of celebrations on the Saturday, which is thought to be more “relaxed” to the previous day’s affairs.

Traditionally, a number of important figures in the wedding party deliver a speech during the reception.

Toasting to the couple, the father of the bride – in this case Prince Andrew – is typically the first to speak to guests.

However, many newlyweds ask family friends and/or the mother of the bride to take on this important role – meaning Fergie is also in the running.

Currently, it is not publicly known whether Sarah Ferguson or the Duke of York will deliver a speech.

The bride and groom tend to be the next people to speak, before the Best Man and Maid of Honour stand to make their toasts.

Princess Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice, 30, has been confirmed to be serving as the maid of honour for the special day.

However, the rest of the bridal party is yet to be publicly announced.

Will Princess Charlotte and Prince George be bridesmaid and pageboy?

Some contenders for the royal’s bridesmaids and pageboys are her cousin Prince William’s two oldest children.

Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince George, five, have taken on the important roles a number of times before – making them a possible choice.

According to a source close to Robbie Williams, the 44-year-old singer’s daughter Theodora Rose – who he shares with wife Ayda Field, 39, could be a flower girl.

Other possible youngsters in the wedding party are Princess Eugenie’s goddaughter – Lord Frederick Windsor’s daughter Maud Windsor – and J.P Morgan banking executive Olivier de Givenchy’s children, Ines and Louis.

Nuptials to be shown on ITV’s This Morning https://briefnews.eu/was-princess-eugenies-wedding-snubbed-by-bbc-nuptials-to-be-shown-on-itvs-this-morning/ https://briefnews.eu/was-princess-eugenies-wedding-snubbed-by-bbc-nuptials-to-be-shown-on-itvs-this-morning/#respond Wed, 03 Oct 2018 07:25:39 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/was-princess-eugenies-wedding-snubbed-by-bbc-nuptials-to-be-shown-on-itvs-this-morning/

Princess Eugenie, 28, will have her wedding broadcast by ITV it has been revealed.

This is a break with tradition for royal weddings, which are usually broadcast by the BBC.

The BBC broadcast Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in April 2011, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding in May this year.

However, the private broadcasting company has revealed it will air the Princess of York’s wedding.

The wedding will be shown on a special edition of This Morning on the day of the nuptials, which is a Friday.

Daytime TV favourites Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will host the programme.

ITV said in a statement reported on ITV.com: “This Morning At The Royal Wedding will capture the atmosphere and arrivals at St George’s Chapel, with Eamonn and Ruth joined by guests, commentators and experts for this specially extended programme”.

Like Meghan and Harry’s wedding the whole ceremony will be broadcast.

There will laos be a 30-minute highlights programme, The Royal Wedding: A Family Celebration, at 8pm that day.

Did the BBC snubbed the offer to air the wedding of the Queen’s grandaghter, Prince Andrew’s youngest child?

A source told the Mail on Sunday: “From the outset the instruction from the very top was that Eugenie’s wedding must be televised.

“The BBC was approached because they have a special relationship with Buckingham Palace and a formula that works.

“But they turned it down because they don’t think enough people will tune in and that there isn’t enough support for the Yorks.”

Twitter users took ot the social media platform to air their opinions on the move to broadcast the wedding on ITV.

One said: “I am very pleased that the BBC has decided not to waste licence-payers’ money covering this.”

Another wrote: “With everything that’s going on, do I give a monkeys?”

However, others were thrilled the wedding would still be broadcast.

One wrote: “Hallelujah!!! Princess Eugenie’s wedding WILL be broadcast live on ITV, despite earlier reports! This makes it all the better!!!”

Another tweeted: “When I heard the BBC passed on Princess Eugenie’s wedding, I was wondering how ITV hadn’t snatched that up. Well now they have.”

Princess Eugenie: Five facts about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s youngest daughter

Full name

Her full title is Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York. She is the Queen’s sixth grandchild and is currently ninth in the line of succession.

Education

Eugenie started her education at Winkfield Montessori before heading to Upton House School and Coworth Park School.

She then attended St.George’s School in Windsor before completing her A levels in Art, English Literature, and History of Art at Marlborough College.

To undertake her Bachelors degree in English Literature, History of Art and Politics, Eugenie attended Newcastle University.

Career

In 2013, Eugenie moved to New York City to work for online auction firm Paddle8 as a benefit auctions manager.

She returned to London in 2015 to work for Hauser & Wirth art gallery as an associate director, gaining a promotion to be a director in 2017.

Princess Eugenie joined Instagram in March this year, the first royal to officially do so. Other members of the Royal Family have accounts run by the palaces.

She has 281,000 followers, but is only following 19 accounts, including close friend Ellie Goulding, her mother, and Queen Rania of Jordan.

What is Princess Eugenie’s wedding date? Everything we know about Jack Brooksbank nuptials https://briefnews.eu/what-is-princess-eugenies-wedding-date-everything-we-know-about-jack-brooksbank-nuptials/ https://briefnews.eu/what-is-princess-eugenies-wedding-date-everything-we-know-about-jack-brooksbank-nuptials/#respond Wed, 29 Aug 2018 07:42:34 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/what-is-princess-eugenies-wedding-date-everything-we-know-about-jack-brooksbank-nuptials/

Princess Eugenie announced her engagement to Jack Brooksbank, a drinks entrepreneur, earlier this year in January.

The pair have been dating for seven years after first meeting in Verbier, a Swiss ski resort frequented by the royals.

Buckingham Palace posted an official announcement to spread the news of the royal engagement.

It read: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr. Jack Brooksbank.

Wedding date

The wedding will take place on Friday 12 October 2018. It is believed this date was chosen so as not to clash with other royal engagements.

A source told the Daily Mail in January: “Eugenie and Jack are keen to tie the knot quite quickly, and there certainly wouldn’t be any issue as regards the booking of the chapel given who her grandmother [Queen Elizabeth II] is.

”But the issue is that some members of the Royal Family already have commitments in the diary.”

“There is talk of a number of foreign tours for Prince Harry and Miss Markle this year, and September is a date that has been mooted.

There is nothing concrete yet, but it looks as if Eugenie and Jack will go for October instead.”

Wedding venue

The wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. This is the same venue where Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 33, had their royal wedding on 19 May this year.

Wedding party

It is known Princess Eugenie’s older sister, Princess Beatrice, 30, will be maid of honour at the wedding.

The bridesmaids and page boys have not yet been officially announced.

However, it is expected Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, will be included.

What’s more, various publications including the Daily Mail have reported Theodora Rose Williams, 5, the daughter of Robbie Williams, will be a bridesmaid.

Wedding guests

St. George’s Chapel is believed to have a capacity of 800 people. Meghan and Harry opted to have 600 guests.

Senior members of the royal family including Queen Elizabeth II, 92, and Prince Philip, 97, will be in attendance because they are Princess Eugenie’s grandparents.

Prince William, 36, Kate Middleton, 36, Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 33 will also be present.

Eugenie and Jack recently moved into a home next to Meghan and Harry. The couple has moved into Ivy Cottage, one of the private, standalone cottages on the Kensington Palace estate.

While the name conjures images of a small residence, it is actually a large three-bedroom home, but is one of the smallest residences on the estate.

Compared to Meghan and Harry’s Nottingham Cottage, for example, it is almost twice as big.

Princess Eugenie wedding: Why her nuptials won’t be like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's https://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-wedding-why-her-nuptials-wont-be-like-meghan-markle-and-prince-harrys/ https://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-wedding-why-her-nuptials-wont-be-like-meghan-markle-and-prince-harrys/#respond Sun, 10 Jun 2018 19:15:55 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/princess-eugenie-wedding-why-her-nuptials-wont-be-like-meghan-markle-and-prince-harrys/

Princess Eugenie, 28, will marry Jack Brooksbank, 31, on October 12, and it is easy to draw parallels with the royal wedding of Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, which took place earlier this year.

The couples will share a wedding venue of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and the nuptials take place in the same year.

The weddings will be attended by a high profile guestlist including major members of the royal family.

What’s more, both are weddings of a royal – Eugenie and Harry – to a commoner – Jack and Meghan.

However, there is a crucial difference in that Princess Eugenie – unlike Harry and now Meghan – is not a “working royal”.

This will have a crucial effect on her obligations on her wedding day.

“Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice aren’t working royals, and that’s unlikely to change,” James Brookes, Director of Broadcasting and Communications at Royal Central told Express.co.uk.

A working royal is classified as a member of the royal family who “carries out engagements on behalf of the Queen”.

Prince Andrew, 58, has in the past described his daughters Eugenie and Beatrice as “modern working young women, who happen to be members of the Royal Family”.

While Eugenie is a high profile royal who frequently attends royal celebrations, she is under no obligation to do so.

Because she has no official duty to the public, she is not expected to take a carriage ride through Windsor, as Meghan and Harry did.

However, she may do so with her future husband if she wishes.

What’s more, it is likely there will be less security at her wedding compared to Meghan and Harry’s.

This is because there is not as much interest in Princess Eugenie’s wedding, as she has a lower profile compared to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Finally, Eugenie did not have to seek official permission from the Queen to become engaged to now fiancé Jack Brooksbank.

Does Princess Eugenie have a job? It turns out the royal, who has a net worth of £3.6 million, works full-time in London.

She holds a director position at Hauser & Wirth, a contemporary art gallery in Mayfair, London.

Princess Eugenie began working at the gallery during the summer of 2015 as an associate director.

She reportedly received a promotion to the position of director at the company in 2017.

“Eugenie is working hard and doing a good job, the promotion is well deserved,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Royal Wedding best dressed guests: Who stunned at Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s nuptials? https://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-best-dressed-guests-who-stunned-at-meghan-markle-prince-harrys-nuptials/ https://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-best-dressed-guests-who-stunned-at-meghan-markle-prince-harrys-nuptials/#respond Sun, 20 May 2018 12:18:43 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-best-dressed-guests-who-stunned-at-meghan-markle-prince-harrys-nuptials/

The Royal Wedding is over, with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s guests probably waking up this morning with sore heads and tired feet.

Knowing the world’s media would be watching, all of the guests made sure to look their best.

Those invited to both the church and evening reception stunned in with outfit changes for the later part of the celebrations.

A mix of A List guests and aristocracy mingled at St George’s Chapel and Frogmore House to celebrate the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

But who were the best dressed on the day? From the Middletons to Amal Clooney, these are the women who stood out.

Amal Clooney, 40, leading human rights lawyer and wife of Hollywood actor George, stole the show in mustard yellow.

She wore a custom Stella McCartney gown with a Stephen Jones hat. Her hair was perfectly tonged and swept to the side, in a nod to hold Hollywood glamour.

Serena Williams, 36, tennis ace and close friend of Meghan, looked chic in pink for the church. Her fitted Versace dress had a gathered detail at the waist, giving her an hourglass shape.

Williams, who attended with husband Alexis Ohanian, 35, changed for the evening do, wearing a Valentino dress with dramatic floral print silk skirt. An extravagant Bulgari emerald necklace completed the look.

Carey Mulligan, 32, along with husband musician Marcus Mumford, 31, was another A List attendee.

She wore a yellow, pink and grey floral dress from Erdem, the designer hotly tipped to be making Meghan’s wedding dress.

Priyanka Chopra, 35, stunned with her evening look, wearing a sparkling Dior gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Another woman who turned heads in the evening was Jessica Mulroney, 38, whose children were in the bridal party.

She changed in to a gold sequin dress that wouldn’t have looked out of place at the Oscars.

Many of the guests were from the cream of British society, and Lady Kitty Spencer, 27, led the charge of stylish women.

Princess Diana’s neice wore a teal blue square neck Dolce & Gabbana dress with a painted-effect floral print. An acid orange clutch added a pop of colour.

Pippa Middleton, 35, opted for florals too, although her green and pink dress, £495 from The Fold, had a more delicate feel.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, 36, caused controversy with her choice of outfit.

Twitter was divided over the colour of her dress and summer coat, arguing over whether it was cream or yellow.

However, Kensington Palace cleared up any confusion, confirming the true colour of Kate’s outfit in a statement.

Nothing spells love like a Lifetime movie looking to cash in on your upcoming wedding. Harry and Megan: A Royal Romance is the latest Lifetime movie adaptation about love, beauty, and rich royalty.

Don’t scoff, you know you’re going to watch it.

Harry and Meghan A Royal Romance Trailer

It was a love story right out of a Lifetime movie: handsome, partyboy prince meets a beautiful American commoner. Soon, they embark on a whirlwind romance of overnight trips, top-secret dates, and shocking public kisses, he ignoring the conservative British public’s disdain for an American divorcée and she stepping back from her career in acting.

Before you know it, it’s wedding bells for Meghan and Prince Harry. Which naturally means an actual Lifetime movie was soon to follow. After their first romantic TV movie about the unprecedented courtship of Prince William and Kate Middleton did gangbusters for Lifetime’s ratings, every middle-aged mother’s favorite channel is premiering Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance. Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser play the rosy-cheeked Lifetime versions of Meghan and Harry, in the TV movie that follows them meeting, falling in love, and buying giraffes for each other. They make each other happy — but is that enough?

“She’s American. She’s divorced—are you ready for this?” Laura Mitchell’s Kate Middleton asks Harry.

“She makes me happy, so to hell with tradition!” Harry dramatically responds.

Only on…Lifetime.

This Lifetime movie actually brings things full circle for Markle, who played her fair share of love interest in two romantic TV movies. She starred as the career journalist who accidentally stumbles on a story — and love — in the Hallmark Channel’s When Sparks Fly in 2014, then played a successful businesswoman in everything but love in 2016’s The Dater’s Handbook.

Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance also stars Burgess Abernethy as Prince William and Steve Coulter as Prince Charles. It premieres just in time for the actual wedding ceremony of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19.

Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance premieres on Lifetime on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Meghan and Harry meet after being set up by friends. They keep their initial courtship a secret before going public and dealing with the intense media attention.

Royal wedding: Cost of Harry and Meghan nuptials revealed by top wedding planner https://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-cost-of-harry-and-meghan-nuptials-revealed-by-top-wedding-planner/ https://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-cost-of-harry-and-meghan-nuptials-revealed-by-top-wedding-planner/#respond Wed, 28 Mar 2018 14:47:49 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-cost-of-harry-and-meghan-nuptials-revealed-by-top-wedding-planner/

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, are soon to marry, holding their wedding on May 19. While royal weddings are always lavish, Prince Harry and the Suits actress’s is expected to be very expensive.

Wedding planner Hamish Shephard, who is also planning the wedding of Meghan’s friend and reality TV star Millie Mackintosh and her fiancee Hugo Taylor, estimates the nuptials will cost £32 million.

There are a number of aspects of the wedding which are set to cost a bomb, including a £26,000 bill for sausage rolls.

Mr Shephard said: “They’ve invited 2,640 members of the public who will each be given a cup of tea and a sausage roll. If you’re assuming that’s £10 a head, that’s £26,000 on sausage rolls alone.”

Flowers will also set the couple back a fairly enormous sum – far more than the average Briton would plan to spend on their whole wedding.

It was recently announced that Meghan Markle’s parents will have a coat of arms designed before the big day.

The massive costs are largely down to the fact that Harry and Megs are hosting for a huge wedding party.

Mr Shephard said: “The biggest cost of a wedding is always determined by the number of guests. You have three costs: a third is on the venue, a third is on the food and drink and a third is on the other parts such as the dress and the photographer, etc.

“Every wedding has those elements and that’s where it can scale. Harry and Meghan are planning for 4,000 guests and multiple venues.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle initially hoped to have their reception at Frogmore House, but later decided on another venue.

However, there will still hold their reception at the stunning stately home, meaning two venues must be catered for.

“They are having their church service at the incredible St George’s Chapel, and then they’re with 600 guests for a lunchtime reception at St George’s Hall – one of the most incredible halls in Windsor Castle.

“The grand evening reception will also take place at Fogmore House,” Mr Shephard said.

As each venue must be decked out in flower the florist bill will be one of the largest on the say.

The wedding expert said: “All these different venues means they will have an enormous number of flowers. Everything is going to be the best of the best, and something like floristry is where your budget grows, a massive amount of it goes on flowers, meaning they will cost at least £110,000”.

“Harry and Meghan have also ordered 20 silver-plated fanfare trumpets for when they arrive, which have cost £90,000 alone”.

Meghan is close to her mother Doria Radlan, and her father is said to be walking her down the aisle. However, the pair will both have to make their way over from Los Angeles and Mexico respectively.

Mr Shephard said: “With the recent announcement that Meghan’s father will be walking her down the aisle; the couple will likely be providing first class transport for the Markle family members – with privacy being a notorious priority for Meghan. A private chartered flight from Los Angeles to London could cost anywhere up from £70,000.”

The security is thought to cost £30,000 for the whole event affair.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding costs (according to Hamish)

Flowers – £110,000

Sliver-plated fanfare trumpets – £90,000

Sausage rolls for the public – £26,000

Private jet for Meghan’s family – £70,000

Security – £30 million

Royal wedding: Meghan Markle & Prince Harry ‘FILTH’ film released week before nuptials https://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-meghan-markle-prince-harry-filth-film-released-week-before-nuptials/ https://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-meghan-markle-prince-harry-filth-film-released-week-before-nuptials/#respond Mon, 19 Mar 2018 08:58:26 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/royal-wedding-meghan-markle-prince-harry-filth-film-released-week-before-nuptials/

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, are currently preparing for their upcoming wedding, which will take place in exactly two months time on May 19 2018.

While the wedding itself will be a well organised affair, a US film released just before this time is said to “violate” the couple’s common decency, according to a royal expert.

Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance is a TV film which will see lookalikes playing out the royal couple’s romance.

It will be released on May 16 2018 in the US, just days before the couple tie the knot here in London.

“Common decency has been violated,” according to Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills, founder and chairman of the British Monarchist Society.

The expert took particular issue with a sex scene in bed, which featured in a 20 second advertisement for the upcoming show.

“The scene showing the couple naked in bed is the ultimate appeal to those who are drawn in by such filth and perversion,” he told the Daily Star.

The trailers features the actors sitting together on a sofa, with the actress playing Meghan saying: ”Tell me something real.”

The actor playing Prince Harry responds: “I don’t need my life to be this perfect royal picture, I just need you.”

The couple themselves have not issued a statement to the press concerning the upcoming film.

However, Express.co.uk have contacted representatives for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for comment.

It was revealed yesterday that Prince Harry lost weight after he and Meghan began dating back in 2016.

“Harry went through a bit of a health overhaul after meeting Meghan,” a friend of the couple told author and royal expert Katie Nicholl for her new book, Harry: Life, Loss and Love.

“Meghan’s green lifestyle was also beginning to rub off on Harry, much to the amusement of his friends,” wrote Katie Nicholl in a newly published extract from the title.

Meghan’s mother Doria Radlan is a yoga teacher, and Meghan is known to share a love of the practice – which later influenced Harry.

“Her routine involves starting most days with a yoga workout and drinking green juices and since he had started seeing Meghan, Harry was taking better care of himself.”

Pippa Middleton wedding: Do her nuptials compare to her sister the Duchess' LAVISH day? https://briefnews.eu/pippa-middleton-wedding-do-her-nuptials-compare-to-her-sister-the-duchess-lavish-day/ https://briefnews.eu/pippa-middleton-wedding-do-her-nuptials-compare-to-her-sister-the-duchess-lavish-day/#respond Fri, 19 May 2017 03:43:00 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pippa-middleton-wedding-do-her-nuptials-compare-to-her-sister-the-duchess-lavish-day/

Kate, 35, may have married into royalty, but that hasn’t stopped Pippa, 33, trying her best to having a wedding to match up to her sister’s.

Pippa is marrying financier James Matthews, 41, brother of reality TV star Spencer, at St Mark’s Church in Englefield.

The wedding courted some controversy after it was rumoured Pippa had enforced a ‘no ring no bring’ policy, something she has since relaxed to allow Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle, 35, to attend.

So from the grooms to the gowns, the venues to the food, Express.co.uk looks at which sister enjoyed the priciest day.

Wedding dresses

Kate wore a couture Alexander McQueen dress for her wedding to Prince William, 34, in 2011, and it was rumoured to have cost £250,000 – although this was a claim the Palace dismissed at the time.

She then changed into a Jenny Packham gown for the evening reception, which she paired with a fur bolero.

Pippa is rumoured to have chosen Giles Deacon to design her dress after he was spotted going to her home in November, spending two hours with her and her mother Carole. A bespoke creation by the designer costs around £10,000.

Bridal bouquet

Pippa is rumoured to have approached Lavender Green after being spotted making regular visits to their Fulham-based store.

The florists are used to providing blooms for luxury weddings, and their website boasts pictures of creations they have made for nuptials at Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace.

Kate chose a simple lily of the valley bouquet for her day, and filled Westminster Abbey with British grown blooms.

Venues

Kate tied the knot at Westminster Abbey followed by a reception at Buckingham Palace.

The cost of these venues are unknown – as the only people allowed to marry at Westminster Abbey are British royalty, members of the Order of the Bath or anyone who lives in the Abbey’s precincts. These residents are overwhelmingly religious people who won’t in fact ever marry.

Non-royals can host private tours at Buckingham Palace, although you are not allowed to dine there. Prices range from £115 – £400 per head.

St Mark’s Church in Englefield sits on private land owned by Conservative MP Richard Benyon, and the cost of marrying there is unknown. Pippa will hold her evening reception in a marquee erected on her parent’s estate.

The glass structure, rumoured to have cost £100,000 is large enough to fit around 300 guests. The process is being overseen by Peppers Marquees, which holds the only royal warrant for supplying marquees to the Prince of Wales.

Wedding Party

Kate had her sister attend to her as Maid of Honour when she wed, as well as four bridesmaids and two page boys.

Pippa will not be calling on Kate for her big day however, as tradition dictates bridesmaids can only be unmarried women. Instead, Prince George and Princess Charlotte will serve as page boy and bridesmaid for Pippa.

Prince William broke with royal protocal to have his brother as his best man, and James is doing the same, with Spencer, 27, playing the role for his big brother’s day.

Wedding cake

The royal wedding cake was designed by Fiona Cairns, and was a staggering eight tiers. Fiona’s wedding cakes start at £500 for a simple design, so the royal cake was sure to have cost thousands of pounds.

Pippa is rumoured to haven commissioned London based Domino Puchas Contemporary Cakes to make her sweet. Their cakes start at £200, although according E! News, Pippa has spent £2,300 on her bespoke creation.

As an LA native, Meghan, 35, is used to attending weddings that carry all of the social expectations of an American wedding.

British weddings are very different to those that occur across the pond – so how should Meghan behave to ensure she doesn’t put a foot wrong and embarrass her other half?

She will have already noticed a big difference in the lack of bridal shower or rehearsal dinner which are both common features of an American celebration. But what else will be different?

Express.co.uk spoke to a selection of the UK’s top wedding etiquette experts to find out what the Suits actress should know ahead of the big day.

In a normal British society wedding, a woman would be expected to wear an elegant dress or skirt of knee length which should be covered by a jacket or summer coat

Charlotte Ricard, La Fete

The dress code

Before she even arrives at the church, Meghan will have to work out what to wear. Black tie is usual at American weddings, making it easy for women who must wear full length gowns, but here in the UK the dress code varies. It is still not known which designer Pippa will wear – but many are predicting this designer.

Explaining the differences, Charlotte Ricard of wedding planning company La Fete said: “Black Tie has been the standard dress code for any society American wedding for years, whether it be morning or evening.

“Here in the UK, our aristocratic ancestry dictates more of a change of dress code in accordance to the time of day of the ceremony. Traditionally, if the ceremony is prior to 6pm, the dress code is Morning dress, whereas Black tie in the UK is purely for an evening ceremony.

“For women, knowing the exact dress code is key, as interpretations can easily be made and not be accurate. However, in a normal British society wedding, a woman would be expected to wear an elegant dress or skirt of knee length which should be covered by a jacket or summer coat. This should be topped off by a hat or headpiece.”

Social Media

Meghan is an avid fan of social media, and has nearly two million followers across Instagram and Twitter, with more watching her every move on Snapchat. She even had her own lifestyle blog until recently, The Tig.

But Meghan would be wise to tread carefully before sharing any details of Pippa’s day with her followers, as etiquette experts Debrett’s explained.

They said: “Social media can be an effective way for guests to share their own photographs and memories of the day, however – but be sensitive to the feelings of anyone who did not receive an invitation or was unable to attend.”

Brother of the groom and best man Spencer Matthews’ girlfriend Vogue Williams will be one such guest who did not get an invite, so Meghan should be weary of upsetting potential future family members and keep her phone firmly in her pocket.

Table Plans

After the service ends, the real fun begins, with a meal being the focal point of British weddings. Meghan will be used to a shorter American meal – the focus in the USA is on the dancing, so the meal is kept short to get everyone up and partying as soon as possible.

The one drawback of a longer meal is the potential to be stuck next to a bore – as in the UK, couples are not traditionally sat together.

Debrett’s explained: “Guests should be able to recognise at least one other person on their table, but traditionally married couples would not be seated next to each other. If possible, each guest should be flanked by a person of the opposite sex.”

Charlotte Ricard advised it would be more “safe” to keep couples together, which as a modern bride Pippa might choose to do – so Meghan may be able to breathe a sigh of relief at not having to make small talk with a distant relative.

Bouquet

The throwing of the bouquet is traditional in both America and the UK, so this is one part of the day Meghan may recognise.

But as a modern woman, Meghan is unlikely to clamber to catch the flowers as unmarried women of years gone by did.

Boutique event planning and styling service One Stylish Day revealed less and less brides were choosing to throw the flowers, and said: “It is becoming less popular to throw the bouquet.

“It used to be a standard part of the running of the day but it is losing popularity quickly. The rise of feminism perhaps.”
