Nigella Lawson, 58, has achieved an impressive weight loss during her time in the public eye.

She is most famous for her delicious recipes, television appearances on food shows and books such as How To Be A Domestic Goddess.

Yet Nigella has somehow managed to maintain a enviable figure too.

She has lost an impressive two stone in weight in recent years, according to The Sun.

She has also dropped three dress sizes, going from a curvy size 16 to a more streamlined size 12.

But how did she do it? Nigella is not a fan of fad diets, and instead followed a more realistic everyday diet.

In her book, At My Table: A Celebration of Home Cooking, Nigella said she believed in moderation to help her stay slim.

‘I wouldn’t want a life where I lived on chia seed pudding, just as I wouldn’t want to live where I lived on eggs Benedict or steak and chips.’

She previously told Good Housekeeping she had never been on a weight loss diet.

“I have never been on a diet to try to lose weight. I feel like I haven’t lost weight, but I’m possibly in better shape.”

However, doing a specific kind of slow yoga called lyengar is what she credits for her great figure.

She told the publication: “As you get on in life, you value feeling well as opposed to looking well.

“Yoga certainly makes you feel great, and you want to carry on feeling great.”

“No one should be put on this earth to go on a diet! No one should eat themselves ill either.”

Jamie Oliver is another chef who has lost a lot of weight during his time in the public eye.

The father-of-five from Clavering has undergone a transformation in recent years.

How has the chef, who is married to Juliette Norton and is a dad to Petal Blossom, Daisy Boo, Buddy Bear, River Rocket and Poppy Honey, lost weight?

In 2015 Jamie lost two stone in three months, according to Prima Magazine.

He was inspired by hitting 40 to change up his eating routine. He told MailOnline he ate seaweed to help his body get into shape.

He told the website: “I thought seaweed was hippy, globetrotting stuff but our ancestors ate seaweed.

Nigella Lawson, 58, is as famous for her curvaceous figure as she is for her hearty and indulgent culinary creations.

But the star has recently lost a lot of weight, showing off her new figure on her Instagram and her BBC show, Nigella: At My Table.

On her social media page, fans went wild for the sexy chef’s new look, with one writing: “looking so svelte Nigella!” and another commenting: “Wow. You have lost so much weight”.

Being such a big food lover and having a career in cooking, how did Nigella actually manage to shed the pounds?

Nigella has admitted that she’s never dieted, and instead achieved her new figure through a rather unusual method.

Talking to The Telegraph, Nigella revealed that she never initially intended to lose the weight.

The voluptuous star said: “I had a very glamorous operation – a double bunionisation. I couldn’t walk to the fridge afterwards and, actually, it’s quite a good diet.

“Not because I stopped eating but because you can say to someone, ‘Can you get me a slice of cake?’ but it’s kind of embarrassing to say, ‘And now could you get me a second slice?

“It’s certainly true my weight went up [in recent years] – that happens in life sometimes,” said Nigella about her former weight and subsequent weight loss.

“I wouldn’t want a life where I lived on chia seed pudding, just as I wouldn’t want to live where I lived on eggs Benedict or steak and chips.”

Since losing weight following her operation, Nigella has shed even more pounds, dropping from a size 16 to a size 12.

Not one to completely restrict herself, her continued weight loss was achieved by switching to a healthier lifestyle and changing her eating habits – but not by too much.

Nigella admitted to loving healthy foods such as kale and avocado, saying: “I love kale and I’m an avocado obsessive. But life is about balance, it’s not about being smug. You don’t eat things because you think they’re good for you.”

The 58-year-old also revealed that she didn’t take up any vigorous exercise to lose weight, detailing how she took up low-impact yoga.

“I do yoga three times a week,” she said. “I have to do something I enjoy, otherwise I wouldn’t do it.”

“The older I get the more I realise I have got to do lots of stretching. So even if I’m not doing yoga, I make myself do lots of stretching.”

Another TV chef who has recently lost a lot of weight is Masterchef and Eat Well for Less presenter Gregg Wallace.

Posting on Instagram during a holiday with his fourth wife Anne-Marie Wallace, 32 formerly known as Anne-Marie Sterpini, Gregg showed off his body transformation.

He posed topless, facing the camera side-on as he showed off his toned arms and lean six pack.

While Gregg has already spoken out about his three stone weight loss, it seems he has lost even more now.

Fads are eating disorders, says TV chef Nigella https://briefnews.eu/fads-are-eating-disorders-says-tv-chef-nigella/ https://briefnews.eu/fads-are-eating-disorders-says-tv-chef-nigella/#respond Sun, 15 Jul 2018 07:03:41 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fads-are-eating-disorders-says-tv-chef-nigella/

She feels many dieters are too restrictive about their consumption, which causes them to binge.

The TV personality says we should not abandon staple foods and meat and butter “are not bad for you”.

The 58-year-old sees moral arguments for being vegan but that “a lot of vegan food seems processed” and warned it can make you “deficient in iron and vitamin B12”.

Despite an endorsement deal with Sainsbury’s, Nigella said: “We are unsure of what’s behind the food in the supermarkets and I do feel we’re not being told about what chemicals are put in the food, in the earth.”

She added: “We live in an age of fads. A lot of so-called healthy eating is a cover up for an eating disorder.

“And people persecute themselves with what they do and don’t eat.

“Friends who deny themselves certain food stuffs tend to binge on it. They say ‘I don’t know how you live with so much chocolate in your house,’ and I say ‘because I don’t stop myself eating it’.

“I know it’s there and, just like when I travel, I came away with eight bars, because I knew I was going to be away for a while and that if I were one of those people who didn’t allow themselves to eat chocolate, they would all have been eaten by now.

“As it is I’ve only eaten two and a half bars.”

Nigella, in Canada promoting her book At My Table, continued: “People are extreme.

I put cream in a recipe and people say ‘that’s so much cream’.

“You think ‘there’s a third of a cup. There are six eating. Get a grip’.

“Also it doesn’t make sense to keep removing whole food groups from your diet. You should eat a bit of everything.

“What is regarded as healthy changes all the time.

“I recently read Big Fat Surprise, by Nina Teicholz, and it says eating meat and butter are actually not bad for you.

“It does not make sense that the food humans have been eating for so long is worse for you than food created in a factory.”

WATCH: Nigella Lawson spills food on her BREASTS in hilarious TV outtakes https://briefnews.eu/watch-nigella-lawson-spills-food-on-her-breasts-in-hilarious-tv-outtakes/ https://briefnews.eu/watch-nigella-lawson-spills-food-on-her-breasts-in-hilarious-tv-outtakes/#respond Sun, 17 Dec 2017 12:40:09 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/watch-nigella-lawson-spills-food-on-her-breasts-in-hilarious-tv-outtakes/

Nigella Lawson, 57, has many fans from over the years who enjoy her sultry voice and cooking expertise.

She has hit the screens again with her cookery show At My Table, whipping up classics such as sticky toffee puddings and sweet potato curry.

However, along the way, there have been some disasters, as there always is when filming a TV show.

The cooking favourite posted a video to her Instagram of some of the best outtakes from her BBC Christmas special and throughout the series.

Much to her 1.1m fans enjoyment, she was seen in the outtake video spilling food on her breasts as she struggled to eat.

She told viewers: “There’s no elegant way to eat these and praise be to God.”

The video, which has been watched nearly 270,000 times, amused Instagram users, with one stating: “Gosh this makes me just adore you all the more.

Another loved it so much, that they commented: “Let’s campaign for an hour-long episode of just outtakes.”

A few other outtakes included struggling to say the word ‘top’ and it coming out as ‘toff,’ as well as stumbling over some of her other words as she attempted to narrate as she cooked.

The gorgeous brunette was also attacked by her equipment which often fell from the top of her kitchen.

Nigella’s At My Table is her newest show on the BBC,  and she got many pulses racing after wearing a slinky dressing gown during one of her episodes.

Known for her cheeky double entendres, viewers were ecstatic when stating she was “enjoying roughing up a meringue”.

She has also revealed her recent weight loss when promoting her At My Table book in Kent in October.

Styling a chic ivory suit jacket and black trousers, she showed off a much slimmer figure than fans may be used to.

The cook has reportedly dropped from a size 16 to a svelte size 12, showing off her figure in her newest show.

Whilst she hasn’t commented on her secrets behind the slimmer figure, many of her fans praised her for her new look.

Nigella: At My Table review: Nigella wafts back with yet more toast https://briefnews.eu/nigella-at-my-table-review-nigella-wafts-back-with-yet-more-toast/ https://briefnews.eu/nigella-at-my-table-review-nigella-wafts-back-with-yet-more-toast/#respond Sun, 12 Nov 2017 12:58:48 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/nigella-at-my-table-review-nigella-wafts-back-with-yet-more-toast/

Before you read on, any offence caused by an unintentional double entendre is… unintentional.

Nigella: At My Table (BBC2, Monday) is the latest adventure in the kitchen from the grande dame of food, who wins the title on points from Mary Berry as she is the daughter of a lord.

It is hard to believe anything you see in this series.

For one, the outside of what purported to be her house seemed to change from white stucco finish in the first shots to a Victorian brick fascia later. It wasn’t an improvement.

Or did she have the need, I wonder, for some emergency rendering on the front of her house in the intervening 12 minutes? Perhaps there was an earth tremor in South Kensington caused by SUVs crashing over the speed bumps.

Or, as was probably the case, these were simply random shots of posh central London – “Nigella’s hood” – from which she draws a chummy collection of friendly diners who grace her courtyard for a free nosh-up each series.

The second episode began with her wafting in from “upstairs” with a sleepy but lofty air.

She had waffles on her mind for breakfast, so much so that she’d forgotten to change out of her dressing gown into her day clothes.

In these scary times it’s unwise to pass comment on a woman cooking in her bathrobe.

But it would be sensible, Nigella, to stand away from flames. After some relevant waffling, Nigella’s breakfast was done.

Her pièce de résistance, however, was what we can only call a ham and cheese toastie; what she would call her brie, Parma ham and fig toasted sandwich.

An improvement on her avocado on toast? Yes. It’s two slices of bread.

But I am indebted to Nigella Lawson for the food reference of the year: “I always just add Aleppo pepper…”

What? From where? I’ll just get my body armour.

Nigella Lawson, the TV chef known for her delicious recipes and sexual innuendos, has wowed Instagram users with yet another picture showing off her slim frame.

Nigella Lawson, 57, from Wandsworth in London, is filming for another television show set to air later this year.

The six-part series, Nigella: At My Table, which will air on BBC2, has Nigella fans excited.

The star is keen to tease fans about the show, but they are keen to learn her weight loss secrets.

The image posted to Instagram earlier this month was captioned: “On the set of my new tv series, trying not to watch pot of water while waiting for it to come to the boil #atmytable”.

It had 38,000 likes and over 600 comments – many of which addressed the chef’s slim physique.

One wrote: “You lost a lot of weight! Looking great!”

Another said, “So skinny your fading away”, while another wrote, “You’re soo slim Nigella”. [sic]

One posted: “Bravo, you lost weight”.

Nigella has previously admitted to losing some weight in recent years. The chef has credited yoga to her weight loss.

She told Good Housekeeping: “It’s certainly true my weight went up – that happens in life sometimes.

“I love kale and I’m an avocado obsessive. But life is about balance, it’s not about being smug. You don’t eat things because you think they’re good for you.

“I have never been on a diet to try to lose weight. I feel like I haven’t lost weight, but I’m possibly in better shape. I am doing a rather slow form of yoga now called lyengar.”

Recently, Nigella came into some criticism after posting the Italian Spaghetti Alla Carbonara recipe to her Facebook page yesterday.

However, it has since caused outrage after fans of Italian cuisine were left fuming thanks to the inclusion of one controversial ingredient.

One such Facebook user wrote: “Nigella you are a wonderful woman but your recipes are the DEATH of Italian recipes, literally!NO CREAM IN CARBONARA NEVER, only eggs.” [sic]

Nigella Lawson under fire carbonara recipe – chef is dubbed the ‘DEATH of Italian recipes’ https://briefnews.eu/nigella-lawson-under-fire-carbonara-recipe-chef-is-dubbed-the-death-of-italian-recipes/ https://briefnews.eu/nigella-lawson-under-fire-carbonara-recipe-chef-is-dubbed-the-death-of-italian-recipes/#respond Wed, 05 Jul 2017 19:38:37 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/nigella-lawson-under-fire-carbonara-recipe-chef-is-dubbed-the-death-of-italian-recipes/

Nigella Lawson posted the Italian Spaghetti Alla Carbonara recipe to her Facebook page yesterday.

However, it has since caused outrage after fans of Italian cuisine were left fuming thanks to the inclusion of one controversial ingredient.

Nigella, 57, wrote on the Facebook post, which has attracted over 3,000 responses: “I think spaghetti carbonara is what Meryl Streep cooks for Jack Nicholson in the film version of one of my favourite books, ‘Heartburn’, and it is so right, for that chin-dripping, love-soaked primal feast, the first time someone actually stays through the night.”

She also posted a link to her recipe on her own website.

Nigella’s carbonara recipe includes 500 grams of spaghetti, 275 grams of cubed pancetta (or lardons) and two teaspoons olive oil,

However, these are not the ingredients that have caused the public outrage.

The 60 millilitres of double cream is the reason fans are upset.

One such Facebook user wrote: “Nigella you are a wonderful woman but your recipes are the DEATH of Italian recipes, literally!NO CREAM IN CARBONARA NEVER, only eggs.” [sic]

Another said: “This is a recipe of your’s, it’s not Carbonara. No wine, no cream and egg yolks only in italian real Carbonara.” [sic]

One Italian added: “Nigella for us, italians and romans, its absolutely forbidden any kind of cream in any kind of pasta and never never never in carbonara! Please!” [sic]

However, not everyone agreed with the critcism of Nigella’s recipe.

One wrote: “Don’t listen to this narrow minded idiots Nigella. They haven’t even tried it.”

Another said: “Who gives a c*** if it’s not ‘genuine’ carbonara? I’ll eat the whole pot because bacon.

Nigella Lawson has shocked fans with her weight loss, prompting her followers to call her “skinny” and “slim”.

The chef – known for indulgent recipes – shared the image on her Instagram – and most praised the brunette for her slimmer figure.

Nigella Lawson posted the image to Instagram, showing the celebrity chef filming for her latest series.

The chef could be seen in a kitchen, cooking over a hob while a camera man caught the action on film.

Nigella Lawson posted the image to Instagram, showing the 57-year-old celebrity chef filming for her latest series.

The chef could be seen in a kitchen, cooking over a hob while a camera man caught the action on film.

She captioned the image: “Day 2 on set with @robinfox78 on camera for new series, At My Table #atmytable”.

However, a number of fans were more interested in Nigella’s figure than her latest series.

One Instagram user, Hoberhobs, commented beneath the image: “@nigellalawson, you look very slim and so beautiful!!”

Another wrote: “Wow. You have lost so much weight”.

Nigella is known for her curvaceous figure, as much a part of her appeal as her cooking.

However, the presenter and author, who indulges in avocados – did admit to losing some weight in recent years.

Yoga is part of the method Nigella uses to stay slim.

She told Good Housekeeping: “It’s certainly true my weight went up – that happens in life sometimes.

However, she was adamant she has never dieted –  crediting her view of food for her healthy look.

She told Good Housekeeping Magazine in 2015: “I wouldn’t want a life where I lived on chia seed pudding, just as I wouldn’t want to live where I lived on eggs Benedict or steak and chips.

Nigella did also credit an operation for her weight loss – but this was not an intentional effort.

According to the Telegraph in 2015, Nigella said: “I had a very glamorous operation – a double bunionisation. I couldn’t walk to the fridge afterwards and, actually, it’s quite a good diet.”

Saturday Kitchen viewers point out MAJOR Nigella Lawson blunder to BBC https://briefnews.eu/saturday-kitchen-viewers-point-out-major-nigella-lawson-blunder-to-bbc/ https://briefnews.eu/saturday-kitchen-viewers-point-out-major-nigella-lawson-blunder-to-bbc/#respond Sat, 24 Jun 2017 11:56:31 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/saturday-kitchen-viewers-point-out-major-nigella-lawson-blunder-to-bbc/

Viewers took to Twitter to point out a subtitles gaffe during a Nigella Lawson segment which made absolutely no sense.

As the action left this week’s host Michel Roux in the studio, the TV chef was seen whipping up a tiramisu.

However, instead of those at home being told to use mascarpone in the recipe, the subtitles reportedly referred to the ingredient as “ask a pony”.

“According to the subtitles on #SaturdayKitchen, Nigella just put some ‘ask a pony’ into a bowl,” one tweet read.

Someone else stated: “Subtitles on #SaturdayKitchen not great #AskAPonyCheese.”

Meanwhile, people praised Michel’s hosting efforts as he fronted the instalment alongside chefs William Curley and Ching He Huang, as well as guest Bill Bailey.

Fans called on the programme to hire Ching, 38, after she admitted she was looking for work.

When asked what she had been up to in the US, she told her companions: “I’ve been trying to get more work, which would always be nice. Kind of unemployed, but between jobs, you know?”

One person posted online: “If Ching is unemployed, can #SaturdayKitchen please employ her as permanent presenter?”

“In between jobs?! Shall we cook something together then? @Chinghehuang #SaturdayKitchen,” another stated.

Saturday Kitchen continues next weekend at 10am on BBC One.

Nigella Lawson weight loss – how you could lose up to THREE stone WITHOUT dieting https://briefnews.eu/nigella-lawson-weight-loss-how-you-could-lose-up-to-three-stone-without-dieting/ https://briefnews.eu/nigella-lawson-weight-loss-how-you-could-lose-up-to-three-stone-without-dieting/#respond Mon, 01 May 2017 12:57:32 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/nigella-lawson-weight-loss-how-you-could-lose-up-to-three-stone-without-dieting/

The 57-year-old has always been pro self-indulgence, having once suggested taking a doughnut and making french toast with it.

Back in 2015, she criticised obsessive diet culture and ’clean eating’ because, for her, life is all about balance.

She told Good Housekeeping Magazine: “I wouldn’t want a life where I lived on chia seed pudding, just as I wouldn’t want to life where I lived on eggs Benedict or steak and chips.

“I love kale and I’m an avocado obsessive. But life is about balance, it’s not about being smug. You don’t eat things because you think they’re good for you.

“Also, you can guarantee that what people think will be good for you this year, they won’t next year.”

So how did curvy Nigella get in such great shape? Surgery (but not the kind you might expect) apparently.

According to the Telegraph in 2015, Nigella said: “I had a very glamorous operation – a double bunionisation. I couldn’t walk to the fridge afterwards and, actually, it’s quite a good diet.

“Not because I stopped eating but because you can say to someone, ‘Can you get me a slice of cake?’ but it’s kind of embarrassing to say, ‘And now could you get me a second slice?’

“So I haven’t really eaten any different, but I had fewer opportunities to eat.”

The self-taught chef has also attributed keeping in shape over the years to yoga.

She told Good Housekeeping: “It’s certainly true my weight went up – that happens in life sometimes.

“I have never been on a diet to try to lose weight. I feel like I haven’t lost weight, but I’m possibly in better shape. I am doing a rather slow form of yoga now called lyengar.
