RELATED STORIES

The Ranch is nearly at the end of its eight-part run before Nick’s killer is revealed.

In Episode 7, Beer Pong tells Colt that the murder weapon was found behind Nick’s trailer. Soon after, Wilkerson turns up at the Bennett house and arrests Luke for Nick’s murder. It was his gun they found on the premises.

Be that as it may, Luke didn’t kill Nick. Luke’s gun was in his car — the very car that Mary stole and cashed in for a quick drug fix. And we know it couldn’t have been Mary who ended the ex-con’s life; she was back at the Bennett house stealing a hot shower and some shuteye.

After Luke’s arrest, Colt, Abby, Beau, Maggie and Mary gather in the kitchen. Before long, Heather walks in and asks what happened. Mary breaks it to her daughter that Luke’s in custody, then Colt tells everyone that Luke is innocent. They have no reason to believe that Colt knows the truth — that is, until Abby nudges her hubby and says, “I think you should tell them.” Colt shrugs off the suggestion, then Beau loses his cool. He knows something’s up, and he’s not about to see his nephew rot in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. That’s when Heather interjects and confesses to murder. “I did it,” she says. “I killed Nick.” She then proceeds to tell Mary exactly what happened.

The Ranch 8x07 - Heather Kills Nick“That night, when I saw what he did to you, it brought back every time he hit you, or me, or Darlene… I’ve been scared of him my entire life,” she says. “I went back to the trailer to pack up your stuff so you’d never have to go back there again — and while I was packing, I found a gun. And then Nick walked in, and he saw the gun, and he came at me, and I didn’t know what to do. I just…” At this point, Mary takes Heather in her arms and squeezes her tight.

“You were protecting yourself,” Maggie says to Heather. “I just can’t believe you’ve had to go through this alone.” That’s when Colt interjects: “She wasn’t alone,” he says. “She called me right after. That’s why I was there and got arrested.”

The next day, Colt visits Luke and assures his cousin that he’s going to get him out of jail. He then returns home, where Heather, Mary and Abby join him for a sit-down with Jerry. The Bennett family attorney tells Heather that it sounds like she acted in self-defense, but the prosecution might not see it that way. But Heather is willing to take that chance; she’s going to turn herself in to get Luke out of jail, and she’s not going to tell the police that Colt helped her stash the murder weapon and flee the scene. Jerry explains to Colt and Abby that he’d be charged with accessory after the fact if he turns himself in, and he could face up to two years behind bars. They can choose to keep quiet, but if Colt gets caught, the prosecution will be a lot tougher on Colt and Heather.

'The Ranch' 8x07 - Colt and AbbyColt eventually decides that he just can’t live with himself if he doesn’t come clean. The following day, he and Abby accompany Heather down to the police station. She tells Wilkerson that she needs to talk, but she’s too late. “Is this about your mom? Because we’re processing her right now,” he says. “Mary confessed to killing Nick.” (Wait, what?!)

In a recent TVLine poll, 11 percent of readers said they believed that Heather killed Nick, whereas 13 and 12 percent of readers believed it was Mary or Beau, respectively. An overwhelming 55 percent of voters believed that the Rooster (played by fired former cast member Danny Masterson) was back to rescue Mary from Nick’s clutches, but Part 8 confirmed that Rooster wasn’t just presumed dead — he’s dead dead.

Sabrina’s Gavin Leatherwood Breaks Down Nick’s Spooky, Shirtless Journey in Part 3: ‘I Cavorted With Sex Demons’ https://briefnews.eu/sabrinas-gavin-leatherwood-breaks-down-nicks-spooky-shirtless-journey-in-part-3-i-cavorted-with-sex-demons/ https://briefnews.eu/sabrinas-gavin-leatherwood-breaks-down-nicks-spooky-shirtless-journey-in-part-3-i-cavorted-with-sex-demons/#respond Fri, 24 Jan 2020 15:27:20 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/sabrinas-gavin-leatherwood-breaks-down-nicks-spooky-shirtless-journey-in-part-3-i-cavorted-with-sex-demons/ “I had no idea what was in store for me this season,” Gavin Leatherwood tells TVLine of Nick’s story in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3. And neither will you.

The Netflix drama’s eight-episode third part, now available to stream in full, picks up with poor Nicholas Scratch still in Lilith’s custody. But as you’ll see, there aren’t any orange jumpsuits in hell. Lilith apparently prefers her prisoners to remain shirtless, which quickly becomes a running theme for Leatherwood in Part 3.

Sabrina Part 3“In the script, it would say ‘Nick comes in shirtless’ all the time, and everybody started making jokes that the script should actually say ‘Nick comes in wearing a shirt’ when he does, because it’s assumed that every other time will be shirtless,” he says. “As each script came out, it was a fun surprise to see what was coming. I’ve learned how to roll with the punches. And the real tough part about always being shirtless is that I have to eat right and work out all the time, because I never know if I’m going to have a shirt or not.”

It probably isn’t too big of a spoiler to reveal that Nick eventually makes his way out of hell, but even when he rejoins the land of the living, he can’t seem to shake the effects of his time in the underworld. His inability to cope with the (literally) hellish experience manifests itself in some pretty sketchy behavior, including — wait for it — partying with sex demons. Again, literally.

“Maybe I’ve done it in a past life, because it felt oddly familiar, but I’m fairly certain this was the first time in this life that I cavorted with sex demons,” Leatherwood says, adding that those particular scenes required a certain level of comfort with his fellow actors.

“When you’re comfortable with each other, you feel more free to explore certain things,” he explains. “I met [the actors playing the sex demons] once before we started shooting, and they were such lovely, warm, open people. There was always open communication, like, ‘Is it OK if I pull your hair here? … Is it OK if I lick your ear?’ You communicate those things so it makes it more technical technical. That way, you’re not in the moment being like, ‘Hey, get your finger out of my mouth!’”

Have you already started binging Part 3? If so, how far have you gotten — and what are your thoughts? Drop ’em all in a comment below.

Sex, drugs and fancy dress dogs: 12 extraordinary facts about Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks https://briefnews.eu/sex-drugs-and-fancy-dress-dogs-12-extraordinary-facts-about-fleetwood-macs-stevie-nicks/ https://briefnews.eu/sex-drugs-and-fancy-dress-dogs-12-extraordinary-facts-about-fleetwood-macs-stevie-nicks/#respond Fri, 10 Feb 2017 19:30:45 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/sex-drugs-and-fancy-dress-dogs-12-extraordinary-facts-about-fleetwood-macs-stevie-nicks/

Fleetwood Mac and Stevie NicksGETTY

A new book lifts the lid on Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks rock and roll life

Stevie Nicks: Visions, Dreams and Rumours by Zoë Howe lifts the lid on the extraordinary life of one of music’s living legends.

There are no lies, sweet little lies, here – just a complex woman who took so much cocaine she risked a brain haemorrhage and lived in a porn set, but also visits war veterans and dresses her dogs in outfits matching her stage costumes.

1. Stevie Nicks took so much cocaine that it burned a hole in her nose ‘the size of a dime’. She was advised by her doctor that if she continued to take the drug, she was at risk of a brain , or death. Stevie has long been clean and now prefers a nice cup of tea, (maybe a shot of tequila before a show).

2. Stevie Nicks had a close friendship with Prince during the 1980s, to the extent that His Purpleness took care of Nicks when she was suffering from flu. But Prince was all about tough love: when she requested another spoonful of cough medicine, he scolded: ‘I didn’t come here to start you on a new drug!’

3. Stevie is celebrated for her mystical ‘white witch’ persona, but during the 1980s, one fan in particular took this too far. Former mental institution patient and ‘self-proclaimed homosexual’ Ronald Anacelteo stalked Nicks with a view to ‘abducting and impregnating her’ – he had been taken in by a homophobic church campaign which preached that gay people required ‘healing’ and believed kidnapping Stevie Nicks could be his salvation.

4. Nicks adores dogs and has a separate wardrobe full of miniature versions of her own clothes – capes in particular – for her precious pooches to wear.

5. One of Stevie’s many fabulous homes was a Dutch castle in the Hollywood Hills. Pure Tinseltown artifice, it looked positively medieval – from the stonework to the portraits hanging inside – but it was built in the 1970s. It has since been used as the set for many an adult movie.

6. Known for her generosity, Stevie has spent a lot of time working with hospitalised war veterans, loading up hundreds of iPods with playlists from her own music collection for them to help pass the time.

7. Stevie has had many rock ‘n’ roll relationships, one of which was debonair Eagles star Don Henley, who would pick her up in a Lear jet for a night of romance. While they remain friends, unfortunately the charming Henley was not interested in settling down. His style of dating became known as the ‘love ‘em and Lear ‘em’ technique in the Eagles camp.

8. Stevie’s grand piano has bullet-holes in it. Not because of a particularly bad fight with Lindsey, but because the instrument was caught in a drive-by shooting while being transported from LA to her home in Phoenix.

9. Stevie Nicks has toured since toddlerhood – her grandfather AJ Nicks was a country singer who taught little Stevie to sing with him, and he took her on the road, entertaining drinkers in bars across the Mid-West together when other kids her age were still learning to read.

10. Fleetwood Mac was always the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll psychodrama, not least when Stevie Nicks and erstwhile partner Lindsey Buckingham joined.

But when the pair split up, they could never get closure, remaining in the band and continuing to sing the songs they’d written about each other on stage to this day.

11. This lack of closure could get ugly – during a performance in the early 1980s, Lindsey’s fury spilled over and he threw his guitar at her (he just missed), even kicking at her in front of an audience of thousands. But would either of them cut their losses and leave the band? Never.

12. Want Stevie Nicks to marry you? No, not like that. Stevie can officiate weddings and married singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton and Deer Tick frontman John McCauley in 2013. But is it possible for Stevie Nicks, by her mere presence, not to upstage the bride?

‘The Bachelor’ 2017: Nick’s Hometown Trip To Wisconsin Was A Last-Minute Change https://briefnews.eu/the-bachelor-2017-nicks-hometown-trip-to-wisconsin-was-a-last-minute-change/ https://briefnews.eu/the-bachelor-2017-nicks-hometown-trip-to-wisconsin-was-a-last-minute-change/#respond Thu, 26 Jan 2017 05:30:15 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-bachelor-2017-nicks-hometown-trip-to-wisconsin-was-a-last-minute-change/ Bachelor Nick Viall

Episode Four of The Bachelor 2017 broke a typical pattern for the long-running reality dating show. The Bachelor often features group trips to exotic locales, usually first to a location within the United States and then one or two international destinations. Past seasons of the show have featured trips to Las Vegas (Season 20), Santa Fe (Season 19), and San Francisco (Season 16), all popular tourist destinations.

This week’s episode of The Bachelor, however, featured host Chris Harrison telling the contestants that they would be heading to Waukesha, Wisconsin, a small city with a population of just 70,000 – quite the contrast to the typical Bachelor destination. The choice of Waukesha also stood out because the city is Bachelor Nick Viall’s hometown, and contestant Raven even got to meet his parents on their one-on-one date.

Most seasons of The Bachelor follow a strict pattern, and contestants do not meet the Bachelor’s parents and visit their hometown until there are fewer contestants left. This week’s episode of The Bachelor 2017, on the other hand, featured a staggering fifteen contestants competing for Nick’s attention, while only one was able to meet Nick’s parents.

According to Bachelor host Chris Harrison, the choice to move Nick Viall and the contestants to Waukesha for the week was a last-minute decision made under extenuating circumstances. Harrison told Yahoo! TVthe reason for the change in Bachelor scenery was because of weather:

“Our first trip was supposed to be to Kiawah Island in South Carolina, but Mother Nature had different plans. There was a Category 5 hurricane bearing down on the island, exactly where we were supposed to go, and it wasn’t safe to film. We obviously couldn’t put everyone in the middle of a hurricane — although that would have been good TV, and I’d argue a good way for Nick to see which ladies worked best in a crisis.”

Due to the hurricane threatening filming of The Bachelor, the crew made a quick decision to switch their destination. Kiawah Island is a much more typical Bachelor spot – the island is full of resorts, beaches, and golf courses which would be perfect for a romantic sunset date between Nick and a contestant.

The decision to switch the Bachelor 2017 filming location also came very late in the process. All of the dates and housing for filming The Bachelor in Kiawah Island had already been planned, and had to be quickly abandoned at the last minute in order to account for the change in weather. The production staff of The Bachelor had to put an entire new production schedule together “within a matter of 12 to 15 hours.”

“There was no preproduction for that week. We had to change everything about what we were going to do including the location and the dates themselves. We were flying by the seat of our pants, booking random hotel rooms, and setting up dates on the fly.”

This switch in Bachelor filming location to Nick Viall’s hometown of Waukesha led to a looser, more relaxed episode with dates that were less structured. Chris Harrison told Yahoo! TV that the choice to change locations gave the episode a sense of looseness and spontaneity.

“I said, ‘Let’s just be honest and embrace it and make it fun.’ By the time I had to have the talk with the girls about the week, we still had no idea where we were going. It was like, ‘We are going somewhere today, but we’re not sure where that somewhere is.’”

The contestants on The Bachelor still stayed in luxury, despite the last-minute switch. The Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinelreported that the Bachelor contestants stayed in a massive, $ 1,042-a-night home on the coast of Lake Michigan. Bachelor Nick Viall also brought the contestants to local businesses and explored Waukesha’s downtown.
