One of the Jonas Brothers will fly solo when he returns to Studio 8H.

NBC has announced that Nick Jonas will pull double duty as host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live‘s Feb. 27 episode — the last of five consecutive episodes that began with host John Krasinski on Jan. 30. The singer will perform his recently announced single, “Spaceman,” due to release Feb. 25.

As part of the aforementioned sibling trio, Jonas has served as the musical guest twice, in 2009 and 2019. On his own, he appeared once in 2016, in support of his third studio album “Last Year Was Complicated.”

Jonas’ SNL return comes just days before he returns to The Voice. After making his debut as a coach during last spring’s 18th cycle, Jonas took the fall off and is set to return for Season 20 (premiering Monday, March 1).

Saturday Night Live returned for its 46th season on Oct. 3. Previous hosts have included Chris Rock, Bill Burr, Issa Rae, Adele, John Mulaney, Dave Chappelle, Jason Bateman, Timothée Chalamet, Kristen Wiig, Krasinski, Dan Levy, Regina King and Regé-Jean Page.

Meanwhile, this season’s musical acts have included Megan Thee Stallion, Jack White, Justin Bieber, H.E.R., The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Morgan Wallen, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Due Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, Phoebe Bridgers, Nathaniel Rateliff and Bad Bunny. Jonas is the first act of Season 46 to pull double duty.

Deadliest Catch star Nick McGlashan died Sunday in Nashville, Tenn., TMZ reports. He was 33.

McGlashan appeared in many episodes of Discovery’s reality series about crab fishermen, as well as in Deadliest Catch offshoots The Bait, Greenhorn, Captain vs. Captain and The Legend of Wild Bill as well as Bering Sea Gold.

“Our deepest sympathy goes out to Nick’s loved ones during this difficult time,” Discovery said via statement to our sister site Deadline. “Nick came from a long line of crabbers and was known for his great depth of knowledge. He also had a sharp sense of humor even in the most difficult conditions. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.”

McGlashan’s cause of death has not been made public. For years, he struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol, a fight that the Deadliest Catch cameras captured. He left the show in Season 13 to deal with his problems. He later returned.

In 2018, he discussed his addiction history in an article for Supportive Care Matters’ magazine Chosen.

“My life went from Bering Sea badass to full-blown junkie very rapidly. Hidden from me was that passion I had for life,” he writes, adding that he overdosed three times before going into treatment in 2016. “Taken from me was my ability to live. I was at war with my addiction and it was winning.”

Nick Ferrari, 61, was jubilant as he joined Phillip Schofield, 58, and Holly Willoughby, 39, on This Morning to discuss Wednesday’s headlines. The British radio presenter and LBC star believed members of the public should be “celebrating” the news the Pfizer vaccine is 90 percent effective in preventing people from contracting coronavirus. However, as the panel debated the news on This Morning, the ITV show presenter and the guest joked they would want to be the first in line to receive the injection from medics.

“This is the day to get the banners out, to get the ballons, to celebrate. It is a fantastic breakthrough,” Ferrari declared.

“But if you ask medical experts, the concern is this: people have always been reluctant to take vaccines because, whereas the injections and drugs actually cure something, this is a prevention.

“People are never as ready to take preventions as they are a cure. But I would absolutely take it,” the radio presenter passionately admitted.

“I would encourage the public to take it. You honestly have to think about the trials that have gone on in the United States, in Germany, in Turkey.

“These countries are so regulated. If you think they would allow anything onto the market that they are not wholly or utterly robust with, I think you’re misplaced.”

The LBC star added: “I understand people’s concern, but I’m urging them they won’t make this available until they’re absolutely certain.

“It’s the best leap forward. We’ve been talking about this for six, seven months – it’s the best day we’ve had,” he continued.

Schofield then jumped in as he told Ferrari: “We’ve been talking about the fact we’ve been lacking in good news.

“If a nurse walked in with one now on a plate, I would have it. There’s no doubt about it,” he declared, which led to the journalist’s tongue-in-cheek response.

“I’d fight you for it, Phillip,” Ferrari quipped, with the presenter laughing off the exchange before returning to the core topic of discussion.

One of Stargirl‘s main Season 2 foes should look familiar to dedicated Arrowverse fans.

Nick Tarabay, who recurred on Arrow as Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang, is joining the CW drama in the series-regular role of Eclipso, our sister site Deadline reports. Meanwhile, Jonathan Cake (The Affair) will recur as The Shade.

The arrival of Eclipso and The Shade was foreshadowed in the final moments of Stargirl‘s first season finale. While Cindy found a mysterious diamond shard in The Magician’s storage locker, The Shade was seen materializing inside the ISA lair.

“Eclipso is one of my very favorite villains in the books,” showrunner Geoff Johns told TVLine this summer, “and he’s somebody who in the comics actually killed Beth Chapel and Yolanda Montez — and they never came back, until recently. They were dead before I ever got into comics in the ’90s, but I brought them back at the end of Doomsday Clock. Eclipso is a really interesting character because he embodies darkness and corruption.”

Johns added, “There are more characters and other surprises we haven’t even hinted at yet for Season 2.” Perhaps one of those “surprises” involves Ysa Penarejo (Project Mc²), an actress reportedly set to recur in Season 2 as an “undisclosed DC character.”

Stargirl, which premiered on DC Universe in May with second-run episodes airing on The CW, will return for Season 2 in 2021 as a CW-exclusive series.

“We’re all working incredibly hard on this because we’re so proud of Season 1, and we want Season 2 to be even better,” Johns told TVLine. “That’s our goal, nothing less.”

Nick Cannon says he has had a change of heart.

The host of Fox’s The Masked Singer tweeted Wednesday evening that he was sorry for anti-Semitic comments he made during an episode of his videotaped podcast, Cannon’s Class and that he offered “my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words” he said during an episode of his videotaped podcast, Cannon’s Class.

Cannon continued that his remarks “reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people” and that he felt “ashamed of the uninformed and naive place that these words came from,” adding that the video has been removed.

Read his apology, which unfolded over a series of tweets, in full below:

First and foremost I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin. They reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from. The video of this interview has since been removed. While the Jewish experience encompasses more than 5,000 years and there is so much I have yet to learn, I have had at least a minor history lesson over the past few days and to say that it is eye-opening would be a vast understatement. I want to express my gratitude to the Rabbis, community leaders and institutions who reached out to me to help enlighten me, instead of chastising me. I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education—I am committed to deeper connections, more profound learning and strengthening the bond between our two cultures today and every day going forward.

UPDATE: If Cannon’s future at The Masked Singer was in question, a statement the network issued Wednesday evening indicates that he isn’t going anywhere. “When we were made aware of Nick Cannon’s interview with Richard Griffin on YouTube,” it said, “we immediately began a dialogue with Nick. He is clear and remorseful that his words were wrong and lacked both understanding and context, and inadvertently promoted hate. This was important for us to observe. Nick has sincerely apologized, and quickly taken steps to educate himself and make amends. On that basis and given a belief that this moment calls for dialogue, we will move forward with Nick and help him advance this important conversation, broadly. Fox condemns all forms of hate directed toward any community and we will combat bigotry of any kind.”

Cannon’s apology comes just hours after ViacomCBS severed ties with the Wild ‘n Out host after failing to apologize for promoting “hateful speech” and spreading “anti-Semitic conspiracy theories” on his videotaped podcast, Cannon’s Class. A rep for the company added, “While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him.”

Cannon quickly fired back at his former ViacomCBS bosses, insisting that he did in fact try to apologize, and “went as far to reach out to [Viacom owner] Shari Redstone to have a conversation of reconciliation,” only to be met with “Dead Silence!” “That’s when I realized they don’t want a conversation or growth, they wanted to put the young negro in his place,” he says. “They wanted to show me who is boss, hang me out to dry and make an example of anyone who says something they don’t agree with.” (A ViacomCBS spokesperson told our sister site Variety, “It is absolutely untrue that Nick Cannon reached out to [Redstone].”)

Cannon ended his statement by insisting ViacomCBS should apologize to him. He also demanded full ownership of the “billion-dollar” Wild ‘N Out brand.

After dropping one of the most bombastic episodes of the season, NCIS is taking it easy this week with a Valentine’s special. However, the CBS show’s leisurely pace is matched by the writers seemingly forgetting that Nick Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama) was comatose last time he was seen by fans.

A recent clip of the upcoming episode was released yesterday to the bemusement of some fans. 

The clip revitalises the will-they-won’t-they chemistry between Dr. Jacqueline Sloane (Maria Bello) and Special Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

In true Valentine’s fashion, Sloane has received a box of chocolates from a secret admirer, and Torres teases that it could be a gift from Gibbs. 

Aside from the romantic bantering, however, fans have zeroed in on the strange sight of Torres walking on two feet, despite suffering from a near-fatal car crash the week before.

The fans joked: “Maybe Torres is actually Wolverine?”

Torres certainly seems to have superpowers of some kind, or CBS’s NCIS seems to be operating in a universe with futuristic medical technology. 

The YouTubers do speculate that the series could have experienced a substantial time jump between the most recent episodes. 

Although, given that Gibbs specifically checks in with Torres during the clip to ensure he’s good to go, it appears that this is his first assignment following his injury.

Torres recovering from severe wounds is not the most far-fetched narrative turn that NCIS has taken in recent years.

However, fans may be turned away if this sort of miraculous healing continues, as the stakes are lowered considerably if characters can just walk away relatively unscathed.

NCIS returns tonight, so it’s possible that Torres could face more repercussions at the beginning of the episode that weren’t showcased in the promotional clip.

NCIS returns on February 11 on CBS.

Netflix has no good news for fans of No Good Nick: The Melissa Joan Hart dramedy has been cancelled after one season, our sister site Variety reports.

No Good Nick followed 13-year-old Nicole aka Nick, who infiltrated a family with the intention to get revenge on them for unknowingly ruining her life. But as she got to know the family, she found compassion for them and struggled with whether or not she could bring her plan to fruition.

Hart and Stranger Things‘ Sean Astin co-starred as the parents at No Good Nick‘s center, while Siena Agudong (Star Falls), Lauren Lindsey Donzis (Liv & Maddie) and Kalama Epstein (The Fosters) rounded out the main cast.
