Both Tom and brother George are off-contract at the end of 2019 and Souths are facing salary cap pressure .
The 26-year-old has not ruled out returning to England at some point in the future.
“I always like to imagine myself living back in England, at least at some point, and perhaps playing for a Super League club,” he said.

“I’d never say never and like to keep my options open. I have got one more year at Souths.”
However Burgess is delighted Wayne Bennett will be taking over at South Sydney after witnessing the veteran coach’s revitalisation of the England team.
Prop Burgess developed a close bond with Bennett during international duty and is now excited about what he will bring to his NRL club at Redfern.
“Playing under him at Souths is definitely something to look forward to,” Burgess told AAP in England.
“I don’t know how different he would be at club level, but I’ve loved working with him.
“He’s just a great bloke more than anything and I class him as a friend. I was really excited when I heard the news.”
Whether Burgess’ reunion with Bennett at club level happens in the coming weeks remains an open question.

The 68-year-old is signed to join in 2020 with Souths coach Anthony Seibold replacing him at Brisbane, but the coach switch is widely expected to be brought forward to next season.
Either way, Burgess is a true believer after playing under Bennett for England.
With Bennett in charge of England for the past two years, England reached last year’s World Cup final and have just defeated resurgent New Zealand 2-1 in a Test series in the UK.
Bennett has won seven of his 11 Tests with England, with three of those four losses coming against the Kangaroos.
Burgess believes the seven-time premiership coach has changed the English mindset and they can now compete with Australia.
“I think we’ve probably become a bit more clinical under Bennett,” the front- rower admitted.
“He’s really brought that mindset of building pressure and having completion rates, which is something the NRL really prides itself on.
“Super League perhaps doesn’t consider that as important and it’s more of a free-flowing game where the ball is thrown around a lot.
“But to beat the Aussies and Kiwis, you have to match them at their own game and I think Bennett has brought that.”

We all experience stress once in a while but some of us suffer from extreme anxiety that keeps them from living their life. They are so afraid to take even the smallest decision thinking that they’ll ruin their lives or the lives of others.
I was one of them and, after figuring out how to calm my anxiety effectively, things got much better. I might even say that anxiety is a thing of the past now.
Anxiety is not dangerous. However, it might keep you from living a good life and having great relationships that will support your well-being. Anxiety makes you avoid people or situations that will trigger an anxiety attack.
In this article, I will share with you how to calm anxiety by showing how I healed my anxiety with the psychodynamic technique. If you’re interested in calming your anxiety, I advise you to start as soon as possible.
After four years of therapy, I learned that you can calm anxiety in few steps. It will take you months to practice these steps, do have patience with yourself!
This is the most important step in recovery. If you skip this one, you might just well skip the entire article. You won’t calm your anxiety in a million years if you don’t know where it came from.
There is a cause and effect to everything we do and feel. So, try to understand that, diving deeply into your own anxiety is crucial to your recovery. To manage this, keep a journal and do 20-30 minutes of journaling every day.
It took me four years to discover my root cause. The cause was my toxic upbringing. The reason why it took that long was because I was, for a very long time in denial that my family was dysfunctional.
Psychologists and researchers concluded that, a majority of people who struggle with panic and anxiety grow up in dysfunctional or negative homes. If you didn’t have a secure attachment as a child (meaning that, your parents divorced when you were small or your mother had depression and couldn’t care for you), you will become anxious and confused about yourself and the world.
Try to go to the root cause of your anxiety by talking to a therapist or counselor whom you can trust.
Warning: don’t drag friends into this, as it is not their duty to guide you.
Let’s say that, your root cause is you never having a father in your life because your mother got divorced when you were small. This means you might struggle with the fear of loss and abandonment. You might think you’re not good enough or that you’re not worthy of love.
Your anxiety revolves around the fear of being left alone, so you’ll be clingy to situations or people in your life. You won’t be able to live alone, travel alone or just sit by yourself as your anxiety might be going through the roof otherwise.
Grieve the parent you never had, or the loss of a past relationship that hurt you.
If your father, for example, is not in your life, grieve him. Look at a photo of him and sit through the feelings that come up. Expect a high level of difficulty here. I assume that, if you grew up in an unstable home, you weren’t allowed to feel the pain.
The way I managed this step is by educating myself about dysfunctional families. My mother has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). I started on a journey of learning about this disorder and what it means to grow up in a family affected by it.
Now is the time to learn how to let go and grieve an unhappy time in your childhood. Read books on abandonment and shame. Read about how a divorce affects a child if that’s your case. I recommend The Journey from Abandonment to Healing: Turn the End of a Relationship into the Beginning of a New Life by Susan Anderson.
If you can, connect with the other parent and express these feelings to her/him.
As I said above, you need to go deeper and let go of all the negative emotions you’ve kept in your prison since forever. If you had a father who wasn’t present, you’re probably angry or upset with him.
In my emotionally unstable home, I learned that it’s not good to cry or scream or make noises as a child. I was even scolded for crying once.
As an adult, I would rarely cry or get angry with people. But that was before psychotherapy. Once I learned that crying is healthy, I would start weeping for hours. It felt so ‘right’.
So, if you have trouble expressing a negative feeling, seek the help of a therapist or coach. Don’t be ashamed to cry or balk in their presence. They are there to help.
You might say, ‘But I’m a guy. Guys should look strong in front of others.’
So what if you’re a guy! If you have this limiting belief, it means you were taught this by someone in your family. Or by your school or mass media. Know that all you’ve been taught about emotions is wrong.
Read the book The Language of Emotions: What Your Feelings Are Trying to Tell You by Karla McKlaren, you will find out more about how to learn the language of emotions from this book.
Use journaling to try and find out daily how you feel. If you start crying out of the blue, let it go. Don’t be ashamed to cry.
Everybody should learn to tune into their emotions and know what they feel at a specific time. If you are using games, internet, drugs or alcohol to numb your emotions, stop that. You are making your anxiety worse. Panic attacks are usually a cover for unexpressed negative emotions like anger, sadness and guilt.
Inner passivity is a term I learned from Peter Michaelson, a psychodynamic therapist from Michigan. He links inner passivity to chronic unhappiness and panic attacks.[1]
Briefly, inner passivity relates to a fear inside ourselves produced by our inner critic. For example, you might refuse a job offer in another state, fearing that you’ll have panic attacks on the plane.
You are in an avoidance mode, which makes you a victim to your circumstances. You might tell yourself you don’t have the skills to perform your job. Or that you’re not that interested in it.
The truth is, your inner passivity is keeping you from achieving your goals, so you won’t have to suffer. What you don’t know is that, inner passivity destroys your confidence little by little.
I believe the first step in letting go of inner passivity is to build a better self-esteem.
How to build a better self-esteem?
This might be an obvious advice but many people engage in avoidance behavior because of their fears. For example, for many years my anxiety kept me from going to the bank and asking about my own debt.
The bills would be sent home and I would be terrified of opening them. My fear was real: I didn’t have money to pay those debts but it made life a daily challenge. Each time I’d return home, I’d see the unopened letters piling up on my kitchen table and I’d shiver. I’d tell myself that tomorrow is a good day to confront the debt but ‘tomorrow’ never arrived.
When I finally got the courage to call my bank and negotiate on a new payment plan, I felt free. I opened the letters and realized that the fear was bigger in my head than it was on paper.
Action step:
Find 30 minutes every day to learn about your fear and make friends with it.
For example, maybe you have a bank to call about an outstanding loan, just do it! You can tell a friend and ask her to assist you during this time and, perhaps, knowing that someone is there for you will make things easier.
If ‘just do it!’ advice doesn’t work (and I assume it might not), try writing about the fear. Ask yourself why are you so afraid of calling the collection agency or the bank:
Is it because you’re afraid they might find out how ashamed you are of being in debt? Do you think they’ll judge you for it? Know that collection agencies deal with debtors every day and they don’t really make an opinion about them. They just wanna do their job so they can earn an income.
If this doesn’t work either, ask help from a therapist to face your biggest fears.[2]
You shouldn’t be afraid of anxiety because it is there to help you and not destroy you. Make anxiety your friend.
Learning how to calm anxiety is not such a difficult task to do if you are really committed to getting better.
Carve a chunk of your time daily and dedicate it to knowing yourself and your feelings better. Do some research about your early life or experiences and get some kind of closure to what they meant to you. Invest in some therapy sessions with a psychodynamic therapist.
Learn how to put your emotions into words and understand how inner passivity plays out in your life. And maybe, you can let go of toxic relationships to make room for positive people who will treat you well.
You will see that once you start feeling happier and more secure with yourself, your anxiety will not terrify one bit.

It’s been eight weeks since I began my “50 books in 2018” challenge with my friend Tom Kuegler.
I was pretty terrified to take on this goal of reading at least one book a week, considering I barely kept up with reading one book a month last year.See the rest of the story at Business Insider

FIZZING with energy, her skin glowing and eyes bright, Julie Neville is the picture of good health as she prepares to go for lunch in the Valencian sunshine with her famous footballing husband Phil.![]()
The 47-year-old athlete has revealed that at her lowest point she no longer wanted to live and now says she is on a mission to help others use fitness to improve their mental health.
Double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly is one of the most celebrated sportswomen in history.
Speaking about the toughest point in her life, she said: “I didn’t want to be here. I had a lot of ups and downs, like a lot of sports people. Sometimes you wonder whether you’re going to ever achieve this dream.
“But having that dream keeps you going.
“It’s quite lonely in sport, even though you’ve got a team around you. No one knows what’s really going on in your head or thinking of how you deal with things and cope. It gets on top of you.
“I think there are a lot of people now coming out talking about their own journeys, be it in business, sport or music.”
Speaking about self-harm, she said: “I would use scissors. The biggest impact is you don’t realise you’re in such a bad way because you can’t see the end of the road, you can’t see the light, you can’t explain unless you’ve dealt with it. It’s not a nice thing to explain.
“You’re not in a good place, you fear and think in a really negative way. You can’t see a way out and it’s a horrible place to be in.
“Our bodies are made of amazing things. Our brain, in particular, is a magical, wonderful tool. But if something goes wrong you can get seriously derailed.
“When someone has any form of depression, self-harm, eating disorders, alcoholism, drugs – all these things, it’s hurting.
“You’ve got an issue to deal with – a personal issue which impacts your life that you can’t compare to anyone else.” She has called for more help for young people with mental health issues and criticised the over-prescribing of anti-depressants and the effects they have on the body.
“I think there needs to be a lot more intervention. I think the problem is you can’t wait until something happens for the worse and then try to cure it. Too many young people are given antidepressants but all they do is mess with your head,” she said.
“There needs to be more support groups and interventions at schools. Young people have pressures on academic achievement and we need to do more about welfare so people feel better about themselves.”
Dame Kelly was raised by her mother on a council estate in Kent. She struggled at school and has told how she felt she was no good at anything.
It was her PE teacher who spotted her talent for running and encouraged her to believe in herself.
Kelly says this was the turning point. After serving as a sergeant in the British Army, she devoted herself to athletics full-time in 1997, turning in a double gold medal-winning performance at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
She finished her career with 12 major championship medals. She has set up the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, a charity helping vulnerable people and youngsters.
She is now planning to extend her work by using fitness to boost mental health. “Next year I want to do work relating to how you motivate people not just to get fit, but feel better – how you use fitness as a way of feeling good.
“It’s going to be all about running, mindset, mental health, and getting people to be better than they feel they can be.”
Talking about the lessons she has learnt in life, Dame Kelly said: “If one thing comes to an end it doesn’t mean it’s the end of you.
“You have to rebrand yourself, reassess your goals. It’s how you can redevelop yourself using the skills you’ve attained.”
CBS is pulling rookie sitcom Me, Myself & I off the air after six low-rated episodes, TVLine has learned. The new Monday entry starring Bobby Moynihan, John Larroquette and Jack Dylan Grazer premiered in September to 7.5 million total viewers and a 1.6 demo rating, but at last tally delivered under 4 mil and a 0.7 — placing last for the night among CBS’ new Monday sitcom block.
According to CBS, Me, Myself & I “will return to the schedule at a later date.” (The series will remain in production, fulfilling its initial 13-episode order.)
Freshman comedy 9JKL shifts to 9:30 pm on Nov. 6, replacing Me Myself & I. A Big Bang encore will air at 8:30 that night in its place. Then beginning Nov. 13, Man With a Plan will come off the bench and kick off its second season in the now-vacant 8:30 time slot.
Here’s how CBS’ revised Monday schedule will look as of Nov. 13:
8 pm Kevin Can Wait
8:30 pm Man With a Plan
9 pm Superior Donuts
9:30 9JKL
10 pm Scorpion

CBS is taking Superior Donuts out of the oven 30 minutes early.
The CBS comedy — which returns with Season 2 on Monday, Oct. 30 — was originally eyed for the 9:30/8:30c time slot behind rookie sitcom Me, Myself & I. However, with the latter series not exactly breaking ratings records, the network is moving Donuts up to 9 pm and keeping Me, Myself & I right where it is at 9:30.
The broadcast networks have nearly 20 shows debuting this fall, including the maiden space voyage of Fox’s Orville, NBC’s look at Brave heroes and ABC’s Ten Days with Kyra Sedgwick. To help you prep for it all, TVLine is offering First Impressions of the not-for-review pilots.
Next up on our list….
THE SHOW |Me, Myself & I (Mondays at 9:30/8:30c, premiering Sept. 25)

THE CAST | Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), John Larroquette (Night Court), Jack Dylan Grazer, Jaleel White (Family Matters), Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue), Kelen Coleman (Big Little Lies), Christopher Paul Richards (Billions), Brian Unger (It’s Always Sunny) and others
THE SET-UP | Grazer, Moynihan and Larroquette play wannabe inventor Alex Riley as a 14-year-old in the year 1991, at age 40 in present day and at age 65 in 2042.
RELATED Fall TV Poll: Which New Shows Are YOU Most Looking Forward To?
THE FIRST IMPRESSION | Toggling as it does between eras, the stickiest wicket for Me, Myself & I — other than the central character’s apparent late-in-life growth spurt! — is that you may very well prefer one “Alex” over the others, especially since the teen version lives a sweet, Wonder Years-like existence, while Moynihan’s is frustratingly and sadly hapless.
Among the supporting players, Richards brings a fun, “1980s-movie best friend/devil-on-shoulder” energy as teen Alex’s stepbrother, while it’s White’s job to help today’s Alex avoid dire levels of patheticism. The 2042 cast seems comparatively quaint, though we’d frankly be fine watching Larroquette and Lawrence (as “the one that got away”) simply bounce off one another.

THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE | Unless The Gifted opens huge and assuming Valor is a non-issue, Me, Myself & I should get off to a decent start leading out of Kevin Can Wait aka last season’s highest-rated/most-watched new comedy. The test will come in November when Big Bang Theory moves from Monday’s lead-off spot back to Thursdays and Me, Myself & I leads out of fellow iffy freshman 9JKL.

Russia were beaten 2-1 by Mexico in Kazan on Saturday meaning they finished third in Group A having also lost to Portugal in Moscow on Wednesday, their only victory coming on the opening day versus minnows New Zealand, ranked 95th in the world.
“This is my mistake, I will take it upon myself” Cherchesov told reporters in the post match press conference at Kazan Arena, moments after the defeat to Mexico.
The question was then put to Cherchesov what he thought of rumours surfacing before the match that he would lose his job as national team boss should he fail to reach the final of the tournament.
“Today there are some really top journalists and they is called ‘unnamed sources’ and these unnamed sources I will continue to work with with pleasure. Tell your informer that I will not be sacked,” Cherchesov replied wryly.
Despite the eventual result in Kazan, the match began brightly for Russia, with Cherchesov acknowledging the need to win to advance by playing two in attack, Aleksandr Bukharov it was who partnered Fedor Smolov in attack, not Dmitry Poloz as was the case against New Zealand.
Russia were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when Smolov looked to have been fouled by Nestor Araujo, the decision may have resulted in a red card for Araujo should the spot kick have been awarded as Smolov was seemingly through on goal.
Although Saudi Arabian referee Fahad Al Mirdasi bizarrely referred the incident to be reviewed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) a couple of minutes after the event, he then kept his original decision not to award a foul.
Nevertheless Russia took the lead through an Aleksandr Samedov on 25 minutes, before falling behind five minutes later when controversy raised its head again in the form of Araujo heading over Akinfeev to level the score.
“I don’t have time to be angry. Frankly, I didn’t see the replay,” Cherchesov said, when commenting on the benefit of the VAR system, which will also be used for the FIFA 2018 World Cup.
“Maybe you saw the reply, but as the game progressed, I indicated to the referee I thought it should have been replayed. I don’t want to talk about it. If there was really a foul, then VAR is not needed. What is the point of it if it doesn’t work?
“Well, they did disallow a goal that was from an offside position. My job is to make the team improve and I will start dealing this with pleasure,” headed.
Both sides went into the break level, which only benefitted Mexico, who only needed a point from the game to progress while European champions Portugal led New Zealand 2-0 in St. Petersburg in the other Group A game.
Things went from bad to worse for the hosts in the second half. In the 53nd minutes Mexico unexpectedly pulled ahead when Hirving Lozano chased a route one ball down the pitch from Hector Herrera with Russia defender Viktor Vasin in pursuit.
Igor Akinfeev came rushing off his line to clear the ball, but his kick missed and instead Lozano headed home, the second header to beat Akinfeev in the game.
“I didn’t see the replay on this episode because I was dealing with something else. Every player and keeper is entitled to commit an error,” Cherchesov said of the goalkeeping error.
“We will discuss these things, life will go on, this is sport. I am convinced he will stay in the national team and he will bring pleasure to the fans.
“Vasin came to the national team late, even though he is experienced. With every game I am convinced he is becoming more experienced. Everyone is entitled to an error. Our opponents were not the easiest to say the least. So sometimes there are errors,” he added.
With Russia needing two goals without reply to advance, their uphill battle became an insurmountable task when Yuri Zhirkov, was given a second yellow card for elbowing Miguel Layun.
One of the most experienced players on the field was suddenly off it, and with him went any hope of a Russian revival. Any slender hope disappeared when substitute Igor Smolnikov came on for Aleksandr Erokhin and within moments volleyed over after finding himself unmarked and just yards from goal.
The game ended 2-1, despite Mexico advance to the semi-final game in Sochi, finishing runners-up in Group A by virtue of goal difference to winners Portugal, who beat New Zealand 4-0. They will play the Group B winners and runners up respectively.
Russia were unable to provide anything to celebrate for their fans within a 41,585 crowd at Kazan Arena.
“We have some positive aspects. However, as for the self sacrifice aspect, I think the team gave all of them themselves and no one in the stadium or home could argue,” Cherchesov said in summation of the game.
“Around 75 percent of our players hadn’t played in such a big tournament before. Maybe new ones will appear. I hope that our next matches will be played against top teams, we have won the hearts and minds to an extent in this month we have been together and we have some reasons to feel optimistic,” he added.
Those optimistic feelings may not be shared by most Russian football fans after the result in Kazan tonight.
