Starz is giving an early vote of confidence to Hightown, renewing the Monica Raymund-led freshman crime drama for Season 2 after only one month on the air.

In its first four weeks, Hightown has averaged a rock-steady quarter-million total viewers and a 0.03 demo rating (in Live+Same Day numbers), which is a fraction of what time slot predecessor Outlander did this spring), but a good 50 percent higher than lead-out Vida.

Sounds like Casey’s love life might be getting a lot more complicated on Chicago Fire: Monica Raymund will reprise her role as the firefighter’s ex-wife Gabby Dawson later this fall, EW.com reports.

Raymund will appear in the midseason finale, airing Nov. 20, when Dawson returns to the Windy City to raise money for her aid organization. While in town, she visits Firehouse 51 to see the memorial for fallen firefighter Otis and to reconnect with her friends/colleagues, among whom is her former husband Matt Casey. When viewers last saw Dawson in the Season 7 premiere, she asked Casey to move with her to Puerto Rico, where she was aiding hurricane relief efforts, but he declined the invitation. The two later filed for divorce.

“Fans can expect sparks to fly from the Dawson and Casey reunion,” Raymund tells EW.com. “Dawson and Casey will always have an unbreakable bond, and their love is a special love that I think will forever stay alive. The fans don’t want to miss this episode — we get to seep Dawson and Casey’s love in a new light.”

Returning to the NBC drama was “a homecoming for me,” Raymund adds. “The cast of Chicago Fire will always be my family, and it was so wonderful to work with them again. It was such a positive experience returning to the family, and I’m so happy and grateful for a chance to work with all of them again!”

Raymund next headlines the upcoming LGBT-themed Starz drama Hightown, playing a hard-partying lesbian and National Marine Fisheries Services officer who finds a body washed up on the beach. Her obsession with solving the murder puts her and her sobriety in danger.

Chicago Fire airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Friends fans will remember meeting Monica Geller (played by Courteney Cox) in the pilot episode of the sitcom as she was launched straight into one of her many difficult experiences with men.

At the beginning of the show, Monica was all set to meet up with her restaurant co-worker who the group referred to as Paul the Wine Guy (John Allen Nelson).

The episode saw Monica insist the evening plans were not a date, and were merely “two people going to dinner, and not having sex.”

To which Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) responded with one of his many self depreciating jokes, by saying “Sounds like a date to me.”

However, fans will know Paul ended up charming the chef into bed by claiming that he had not been able to perform sexually since his wife left him.

Feeling sorry for Paul, Monica played into his hands as it was later revealed to be a classic line he used to get women into bed.

In reaction to the news, Monica smashed Paul’s watch on the floor and vowed never to speak to him again.

However, the latter was not originally supposed to happen as Monica was originally written to have no strong feelings for Paul before the pair spent the night together.

During a panel at the ATX Television Film Festival in Austin, Co-creator Marta Kauffman revealed there were conflicts about the scene.

Don Ohlmeyer, the NBC West Coast President expressed fears of how Monica would be perceived should she not show any affection towards Paul.

While Executives believed that Monica could be perceived as promiscuous if she slept with him without any strong feelings, writers felt differently.

After many heated discussions, writers Marta Kauffman and David Crane reluctantly agreed to make Monica smitten with Paul, creating the pilot fans watch today.

The storyline switch isn’t the only thing raising eyebrows among the fandom.

A huge plot hole was revealed after fans uncovered the confusion surrounding when Chandler and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) really met. 

Fans will remember the iconic entrance of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) as she rushed into Central Perk in search of her old best friend Monica.

When Monica introduced Rachel to the gang, she introduced Chandler as if it was the first time despite flashbacks in later episodes revealing the pair had met many times in the past.

Fans will remember the episode called The One Where the Stripper Cries where Chandler and Ross went to a college reunion where the two recalled their many misadventures of 1987.

In a flashback scene, it was revealed that Rachel and Chandler even kissed at one of his college parties, when high-schooler Rachel showed up with Monica in tow.

During the freshman year get together fans even saw Rachel approach Chandler, reminding him they already met at thanksgiving.

Monica Lewinsky walked off stage at an event on Tuesday after being asked an ‘off-limits’ question about Bill Clinton — but mainstream outlets dramatized the moment, claiming she “stormed off” stage, prompting Twitter backlash.

What actually happened was quite different from what was portrayed.

When the interviewer at the Jerusalem Convention Center posed the first question, which was about the former White House intern’s past relationship with Bill Clinton, Lewinsky apologized, telling the audience “I’m so sorry, I’m not going to be able to do this,” before standing and calmly walking off the stage

In a statement posted on Twitter following the event, Lewinsky explained she had set out “clear parameters” for the interview but that the interviewer showed “blatant disregard” and immediately asked her about her relationship with Clinton when she sat down after delivering a speech about the perils and positives of the internet age.

Numerous mainstream media outlets, including CBS News, Time Magazine, USA Today, the Associated Press, the UK Independent, the Mirror and the Daily Mail framed the moment as Lewinsky “storming” out in their headlines, prompting backlash on Twitter from users eager to point out that her behavior and response to the interviewer was actually very calm.

Even Lewinsky herself responded to the backlash, tweeting to CBS News that she had “politely” said she was leaving and walked off the stage. But CBS tweeted again later using the same phrase that Lewinsky had “stormed off” — and then seemingly deleted the tweet after users responded taking issue with how the news channel had framed the incident.

One Twitter user suggested the wording was sexist and said that if Lewinsky had been a man, the media would have chosen to say she “abruptly ended” the interview, rather than using more emotionally charged language.

In her statement, Lewinsky said she felt immediately that she had been mislead by the interviewer and said she stood her ground because it is “more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves and not allow others to control their narrative,” adding “I’m very sorry that this talk had to end this way”.

Lewinsky has been outspoken in recent years about how she felt she was unfairly treated by the media following the sex scandal with Clinton in 1998 and has since become an activist and anti-bullying advocate.

Big changes are afoot at Firehouse 51.

Chicago Fire star Monica Raymund, who plays Dawson on the hit NBC firefighter drama, is not expected to return for Season 7, TVLine has learned.

The Season 6 finale, which aired on Thursday, set up Raymund’s potential exit, when Dawson was approached to join a team of volunteer paramedics to help out in the hurricane-torn Puerto Rico.

As previously reported, leading men Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney have already signed deals to return next season; Eamonn Walker will also be back, as will Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo, Christian Stolte, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov, according to our sister site Deadline. Contract talks are still underway with David Eigenberg, though he, too, is expected to return.

Word of Raymund’s potential exit comes just days after NBC renewed Fire, as well as spinoffs P.D. and Med, for the 2018-19 season.

The future of American Crime Story is uncertain, especially after executive producer Ryan Murphy scored a big Netflix deal earlier this year. At one point, there were plans for an American Crime Story season devoted to the Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton scandal – but it looks like that’s no longer happening. Ryan Murphy confirms that Lewinsky season idea has officially been nixed.

Don’t expect to see someone playing Monica Lewinsky on American Crime Story anytime soon. As the true crime-based series mulls it future, plans for a season devoted to the Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton scandal have been given the axe by producer Ryan Murphy himself. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy revealed that he had second thoughts about the season because he doesn’t think anyone should tell Lewinski’s story but Lewinski herself. Murphy actually ran into Lewinski at a party and told her as much:

“I told her, ‘Nobody should tell your story but you, and it’s kind of gross if they do,’” Murphy recalls saying. ” ‘If you want to produce it with me, I would love that; but you should be the producer and you should make all the goddamn money.’”

Apparently Lewinski had no interest in producing, and now the season is not moving ahead. This is somewhat surprising, especially since Murphy acquired the rights to Jeffrey Toobin’s book Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal that Nearly Brought Down a President. Toobin also wrote the book that inspired the first season of American Crime Story, The People vs. O.J. Simpson.

In case you’ve been living under a rock or are possibly from another planet and are unaware of the details involving the Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton scandal, Toobin’s Vast Conspiracy deals with the events surrounding President Clinton’s affair with Lewinsky – an affair that made tabloid headlines and nearly destroyed the Clinton presidency. Clinton was impeached for lying about the affair, but was eventually acquitted on all charges. Here’s the synopsis for Toobin’s book:

The future of American Crime Story is uncertain. Originally, Murphy and company planned a second season focused around the events of Hurricane Katrina. However, the Katrina season was pushed back and heavily reworked, and the real second season became The Assassination of Gianni Versace. One imagines the Katrina season will air next, but beyond that – who knows? Murphy recently signed a huge deal with Netflix, which means he might not have time to spearhead American Crime Story anymore. He can, of course, hand the show off to someone else, but as of now, future seasons of American Crime Story remain in doubt.
