In a tweet spotted by MacRumors, display analyst Ross Young said he expects Apple to make the screen cutout standard on all 2023 iPhones. Additionally, the company will reportedly keep its ProMotion 120Hz display technology exclusive to Pro variants due to a supply chain that “can’t support” the feature on more affordable models. In a subsequent tweet, Young said Apple is likelier to trickle down the technology to less expensive iPhones in 2024.

Making the Dynamic Island standard on every new iPhone moving forward would make a lot of sense for Apple, particularly to encourage developers to take advantage of the feature. Some apps already use the cutout for fun features. Once iOS 16.1 arrives later this year, Dynamic Island will also work with Apple’s Live Activities API. It’s also a feature that would make the standard iPhone more appealing to consumers holding onto their current device. While the iPhone 12 was a big upgrade over the iPhone 11, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 have been less exciting. There’s not much reason to buy the latest one unless you’re coming from an iPhone several years old, and that's not great for Apple's bottom line.

Samsung knows it’s facing tough times, and it’s not just counting on the Galaxy S10 to get out of its funk. It’s launching a trio of Galaxy M-series phones in late January that are designed expressly for “Indian millennial consumers,” the company’s Asim Warsi told Reuters. They’ll launch in India first before a wider rollout, and they’ll only be available through both Samsung’s website as well as Amazon India.

Warsi didn’t dive too far into specifics, but said the phones would cost between 10,000 to 20,000 rupees (about $ 142 to $ 284) and would include features that don’t always make their way to lower-cost phones, like beefy batteries and fast charging. Earlier leaks suggest the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 would use newer mid-tier Exynos 7-series chips, feature “waterdrop” notch displays (think OnePlus 6T) and include at least one model with a giant 5,000mAh battery.

It’s no secret why Samsung is setting its sights on India: it’s a prime battleground. Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Vivo are thriving in the country, and Samsung is currently playing second fiddle with 22 percent. In theory, the Galaxy M line scoops up people who otherwise had their heart set on a Chinese device. Whether or not it works is another story. India’s phone space is fiercely competitive, and doing well there won’t necessarily be enough to offset problems in other parts of the world.

Major fashion brand Balmain is used to causing a stir when it reveals a new project, but it’s usually for positive reasons. Its 2015 collaboration with H&M sold out in minutes, and creative director Olivier Rousteing was responsible for some stunning looks at the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. 

The brand typically works with models such as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, but its latest campaign features Balmain’s new ‘Virtual Army’ — a trio of digitally generated models

All of the models were designed by photographer Cameron-James Wilson, who previously found success by creating a virtual model named Shudu. Described as the world’s first digital supermodel in her Instagram bio, Shudu has developed a rather large social media following with over 142,000 followers on the platform.
