It’s a blessed day for at least two ABC comedies: The network has renewed American Housewife for Season 4, and Bless This Mess for Season 2, TVLine has learned. American Housewife stars Katy Mixon as Katie Otto, a mother attempting to raise her flawed family in a picturesque Connecticut community. Better Things‘ Diedrich Bader co-stars as husband Greg, while comedienne Ali Wong plays Doris, one of Katie’s BFFs. Rounding out the cast are Meg Donnelly (Disney Channel’s ZOMBIES), Daniel DiMaggio (Supergirl), Julia Butters (Transparent) and Carly Hughes (Insatiable). Bless This Mess, which premiered launched in April, focuses on newlyweds Mike and Rio (Parenthood’s Dax Shepard and Childrens Hospital’s Lake Bell), who relocate from NYC to rural Nebraska in search of a simpler life; Ed Begley Jr. (Arrested Development) and Pam Grier (The L Word) co-star. Housewife‘s season finale — a musical episode featuring original songs by Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen) and Glenn Slater (Tangled), as well as choreography from Ashley Wallen (La La Land) — is set to air on Tuesday, May 21 at 8/7c. Bless This Mess wraps its six-episode freshman run later that night, at 9:30 pm. ABC will hold its annual Upfront Presentation to advertisers, where its complete 2019-20 schedule and new programming announcements are revealed, on Tuesday, May 14 in New York. TVLine’s Renewal Scorecard has been updated to reflect both renewals. Are you looking forward to additional seasons? The three dance captains took to the stage with their acts to open the first live show in spectacular fashion. They could be seen separated on stage before they came together at the front to perform a number of dance moves. Their acts then all joined them to dance individually with their mentor. However as Cheryl, Oti and Matthew began to perform, viewers were quick to comment on their routine with some claiming the Fight For This Love singer “messed up”. Taking to Twitter, one viewer shared: “Shocking timing issues #thegreatestdancer.” Another asked: “Did Cheryl mess that up?? #thegreatestdancer.” “@CherylOfficial is the judge / captain of a dance competition and she forget the opening dance… #thegreatestdancer,” a third wrote. A fourth continued: “Did cheryl just go wrong at the start of #thegreatestdancer.” While many focussed on Cheryl’s performance there were plenty of fans who praised the BBC series’ opening. “Wow! What a start #thegreatestdancer,” one viewer tweeted. Another added: “Loved the intro to tonight’s #TheGreatestDancer! Awesome to see the judges up dancing too!” A third shared: “Well that’s the best intro into a show I’ve ever seen! #thegreatestdancer.” Tonight’s performance will see the final nine acts take on their first challenge live in front of a studio audience. Cheryl’s acts for this evening are FroBacks, Dane Bates Collective and Harry and Eleiyah. Matthew is mentoring James and Oliver, Company Jinks and Prospect Fraternity. Meanwhile Oti has been coaching Ellie, Globe Girls and KLA. Ahead of the episode, Cheryl said she was confident her acts could make it to the final. She said: “My acts are so versatile. They are going to do things the other dance captains don’t even know they can do yet! “My job is to take the challenges that are thrown at us and convert that into what represents each act best, encouraging and pushing the best out of them to surprise the people at home.” The Greatest Dancer airs Saturday on BBC One at 7.30pm.

The 54-year-old former Harvard forward inherited a mess, but he left the once-proud organization in worse shape. It's a team that has no secondary scoring and a weak supporting cast behind superstar Connor McDavid and his reliable sidekicks, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl.
The Oilers have no top-three defencemen, only a few No. 4s and a pile of castoffs. They also don't have a bonafide frontline netminder.
There will be no quick fixes for this club. Chiarelli's successor will take over a team in salary cap difficulty because of some troublesome long-term contracts.
Yes, the Oilers sit only three points out of the final playoff spot in the West with 32 regular-season games remaining. But they also are only six points from the league basement, a spot the Oilers have become all too familiar with.
WATCH | Bob Nicholson details Peter Chiarelli firing:
Edmonton has finished 21st, 30th, 30th, 29th, 24th, 28th, 28th, 29th, eighth and 23rd, respectively, since pharmacy billionaire Daryl Katz purchased the team in July 2008. There have been eight coaches in 10 seasons and the general manager chair has changed from Kevin Lowe to Steve Tambellini to Craig MacTavish to Chiarelli.
The latter, a lawyer from Nepean, Ont., took over the Oilers 45 months ago, hired by the team's new CEO Bob Nicholson. Chiarelli had been fired nine days earlier by the Boston Bruins, the club he had steered to the 2010-11 Stanley Cup championship. He hired a capable coach in Todd McLellan the next month, and in June 2015 selected McDavid, the obvious first-overall choice at the draft.
Chiarelli's good decision-making ended a week later when he signed unrestricted free agent Milan Lucic to a salary-cap strangling seven-year, $ 42-million US deal. While many teams saw the light, turning from big and physical to speed and skilled, Chiarelli and his staff were blind to the transition.
Chiarelli further damaged the organization with the Taylor Hall-for-Adam Larsson trade with the New Jersey Devils in June 2016. Ironically, Larsson had one of his worst games for Edmonton in a 7-4 loss at home to the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. It proved to be Chiarelli's penultimate game.
The Oilers made the playoffs without Hall in Chiarelli's second year. But goalie Cam Talbot had a spectacular season and masked many of the team's defensive deficiencies. Meanwhile, Hall won the Hart Trophy last season at the NHL's most valuable player.
Chiarelli stumbled again when he dealt Jordan Eberle to the New York Islanders in exchange for centre Ryan Strome in June 2017. The outgoing GM gave up on Strome two months ago, dealing him to the New York Rangers for forward Ryan Spooner, who was placed on waivers earlier this week.
Panic on this season set in for Chiarelli when he brought Sherwood Park, Alta., native Ken Hitchcock out of retirement to replace McLellan after the Oilers 9-10-1 start. But the Oilers haven't exhibited any signs of improvement under their eighth coach in 10 years, going 14-14-2 under Hitchcock.
In the last two games — losses to non-playoff teams in the Hurricanes and the Detroit Red Wings — the Oilers simply couldn't catch their swifter opponents. As Hitchcock said, his team was "chasing, too much."

The Edmonton Oilers have failed as an organization despite having the NHL’s best player in Connor McDavid. (Jason Franson/Canadian Press)
It seems odd that the team with the best skater in the league, McDavid, is slow. But the Oilers are slow in a lightning-quick league.
Nicholson's next choice has to do a better job drafting. Eberle, Hall, Darnell Nurse, Draisaitl and McDavid were no-brainers. But they could have had Ryan Ellis instead of Magnus Paajarvi in 2009, Morgan Rielly instead of Nail Yakupov in 2012, Matthew Tkachuk instead of Jesse Puljujarvi in 2016. They have to make better selections in all rounds — not just the first — and develop these prospects.
Another knock against this team that has only one playoff appearance since losing in Game 7 to the Hurricanes in the 2005-06 final, is its poor record of development.
The new boss also will have to find out for himself whether or not the persistent whisper is true that too many Oilers alum from the glory days have influence. It's always dangerous when ministers without official portfolios have a say.
That doesn't change the fact Chiarelli inherited a mess and made it worse with the Lucic signing, the Hall and Eberle trades, poor drafts and development, as well as not doing enough to improve the blue-line and goaltending situations.
There were just too many missteps to keep him at that helm as the trade deadline nears.
]]>As the lore goes, a legendary Calusa Indian chief, Cufcowellax, who had settled on the nearby Lake Wailes, engaged in a deadly battle with a bull alligator that was harassing the town. Many years later, when pioneer settlers passed through the area — and, later, citrus workers, too — people started reporting that their horses and mules labored as if they were going uphill on what was, in fact, a downhill slope.

On any given day you will find cars pulling to a stop in the middle of the road.
The tale was passed down over time, as curious folks came to test the effect for themselves. Today, a roadside sign marks the attraction, located a few blocks north of the lake, and on any given day you will find cars pulling to a stop in the middle of the road. “Is it the gator seeking revenge or the chief protecting his land?” a line on the sign inquires. As the legend goes, after the territorial alligator dragged another victim into the depths of Lake Wailes, Cufcowellax engaged in an epic fight with the beast, in which they both died, and is said to have turned the entire lake blood-red. And while not everyone knows about this local legend, nearly all residents in Lake Wales have heard of Spook Hill.
When city worker Alison (who declined to give her last name) did Spook Hill with her younger kids, they loved it and it seemed to work. She recalls, “But when I got older and tried it again, it didn’t seem to work anymore.” She describes the experience as feeling like you’re going uphill, when in reality you’re rolling a little bit downhill. “That’s the spectral aspect of it, I guess,” she adds.
In fact, the effect can be explained by an optical illusion that can make it appear like you’re rolling uphill when the opposite is true. But that’s hardly kept the lore of Spook Hill from leaving its mark on the town. In fact, Spook Hill Elementary School, right near the hill, proudly claims Casper (yes, the friendly ghost) as its school mascot.

The experience is enough of a phenomenon to bring people from everywhere to this remote part of Florida to try it for themselves. Tampa-area resident Lili Papia, 29, remembers the experience “being scary” when she tried out Spook Hill as a kid with her mom and a neighbor. “People even arrive here in buses some days,” says Allison. Sometimes people have experienced the effect, she says, while other times they report nothing out of the ordinary.
And that unknown factor of how you’ll react to Spook Hill might be the very thing that makes this batshit-crazy Florida attraction worth checking out with your own two eyes. “Some people are going to be like ‘It’s out of this world,’ and other people will be like ‘meh,’” says Allison. And if you’re hoping for the former? Well, “it probably will be,” she says.

Getting the world started over looked an awful lot like the end of the line for Rick in Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead. But the AMC drama wouldn’t — couldn’t! — kill off departing leading man Andrew Lincoln before his embattled protagonist got in at least a face-off or two with the imminently-arriving Whisperers, would it? Read on to find out how dire were the straits in which Rick was left, then we can debate the wisdom of the show trying to make us think that “The Obliged” would mark his last stand.
‘I’M GONNA MAKE THINGS RIGHT’ | After an intro in which we learned that Michonne was dealing with the doldrums of house-playing and charter-writing by sneaking out at night to whack walkers, we cut to Maggie, arming herself with a crowbar before leaving the Hilltop to avenge Glenn’s murder. When Jesus failed to distract her from her mission with a new letter from Georgie — and seriously, how is anybody managing to be pen pals when there are no mail carriers? — he took a more direct approach. Rick had been wrong to spare Negan, Jesus said. That hadn’t been his call to make. But was she sure that offing the jailbird was really her call to make? “I am,” she insisted. “I’ll be back when it’s done.”
Meanwhile, Rick learned from Eugene that an overnight storm had annihilated an upstream levy, thereby dooming the bridge once and for all. It was no longer safe to even work on repairing it. But at least Eugene had a little good news, too: Herds he’d named after Shakespeare characters (Tybalt and Cordelia) showed no signs of merging. Still, he felt bad that he wasn’t able to do more to save the bridge. If only he’d read more books, he said. Different books… Hey, Rick told him. The brainiac got them where they are, and “after everything, that’s everything.” As if determined to kick Rick when he was down, fate then delivered another blow: Carol was taking her Kingdommers home. As for the Saviors at the Sanctuary, “It’s up to them to figure out who they want to be.”
‘IF SHE KILLS NEGAN, HE BECOMES A MARTYR!’ | Hope there’s aspirin at the camp, because if Rick didn’t need a double dose already, he surely did after Jerry relayed Jesus’ message that Maggie was en route to Alexandria with murder in her eyes. When Daryl overheard his frenemy radio Alexandria to warn them not to let Glenn’s widow past the gate without an escort, he offered to give him a lift… to nowhere, it turned out. When Rick realized that Daryl wasn’t taking him to Alexandria, they got into another of their boys-will-be-boys brawls, this one landing them in a ginormous hole. While trapped, they finally talked it out, sorta. Daryl said that he was fine with Maggie killing Negan, just like he was fine with the Oceansiders exacting their revenge against the Saviors (which was news to Rick). “I’d die for you, and I would’ve died for Carl,” Daryl concluded. “But you’re chasing something for him that ain’t meant to be, man.”
Back in Alexandria, Michonne learned from Nora (who?) that Negan was refusing to eat. “The hunger strike ends today,” Michonne told the prisoner upon arriving at his cell with a sandwich. Thing was, Negan was perfectly willing to chow down — provided she stuck around and chatted him up. (Guess beard-growing would be kind of a dull pastime while incarcerated.) After hearing about her day, Negan exclaimed, “Damn, that sounds more boring than my day!” And, in short order, he theorized that he and Michonne were the same. “Behind walls, bars, we die,” he said. What’s more, much as he was relieved that his wife had passed away, a part of her was relieved that she’d lost her son Andre. “Because you know all he woulda done was make you weak.” Outraged, Michonne took away his lunch and stormed out.
‘I FORGIVE YOU, ANNE, WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO’ | At the Heaps, Anne stole a kiss from an unconscious and tied-up Gabriel as a walker affixed to a hand dolly argh’d from beneath the bucket on its head. When the preacher awakened, the erstwhile Jadis explained, “There’s only one place left for me to go, and you’re the price of admission.” But as she lowered the walker toward him — the zombie’s bucket now removed, of course — Gabriel apologized for pushing her away and offered his forgiveness. Finally, Anne couldn’t go through with turning him. Instead, she knocked him out again, untied him and left him to wake up in a crate with a note that read, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. I need to go fast.”
Back at the campsite, Carol and the Kingdommers were about to take off when up snuck the Saviors, led by Jed, brandishing a gun he’d swiped from Alden. Seemed just as Daryl and Maggie had, he’d figured out that the women of Oceanside had been killing their loved ones’ killers. Now, he said, “they’re gonna get what’s coming to ’em.” And no way was Carol gonna stand in their way. She wasn’t the boss lady anymore, Jed sneered. “You’re a weak little woman who got in a lucky shot.” (Clearly, he was unfamiliar with The Legend of Carol Peletiere!) Though Carol lowered her weapon and stepped aside rather than risk a shootout, she still lashed out at Jed after he took her keys, and before we knew it, Rick and Daryl could hear the gunfire all the way in their hole. Which was bad to begin with, it being a sign of trouble and all. But moreover, it would draw the herds!
‘I LIVE FOR THE LIVING’ | After cooling off, Michonne returned to Negan’s cell, where he apologized for saying what he had about her son. She clearly hadn’t been ready to hear that they were the same. Only they weren’t, she retorted. Sure, “we do what we need to… but you get a kick out of it!” She, on the other hand, was going to make it a better world for her daughter. At that, a lightbulb went off over Negan’s head: That’s what she was afraid of — ending up like him with everyone she cared about gone! Ultimately, she wound up getting the prisoner to eat and also giving him indigestion by revealing that his precious Lucille was still out there somewhere. He was so upset to hear that that he mistook himself for the Incredible Hulk and started punching stone walls.
Back at the hole in which Rick and Daryl were stuck, walkers started falling in, which made climbing out all the more difficult. Not so difficult that Rick didn’t manage to do it, but difficult nonetheless. And conveniently, when he reached the top of the hole, there were no walkers around to grasp or chomp at him. For a hot minute, it looked as if Daryl might not make it to safety. But the odds of him meeting his maker are about as good as him washing his hair. Once they were both above ground again, Rick mounted a runaway horse to lead the herd away from the camp. Why not just lead them to the bridge? Daryl asked. It’d crumble under the weight and dispatch the lot of ’em. Because they needed the bridge, Rick insisted. So off he rode.
‘BE SAFE’ | While a storybook Michonne read Judith made her wonder if she really was like Negan — of course, a bat would have to feature prominently in Game Day! — Rick wound up trapped between the two herds. When his horse got spooked and threw him, he was impaled on a slab of concrete. And as the hour drew to a close, he not only wasn’t able to get up or away, he lost consciousness. With two herds mere steps away from him, the show clearly wanted us to fear for his life. But do any us really believe that Rick is going to be done in without a s—-ton of fair warning? Mm, I think not. So what was the point of this? Aside from that questionable choice, what did you think of “The Obliged”? Though I’ve liked the season more than most commenters thus far, even I had to admit that this episode felt it had an excess of fake peril.

A highly disgusting viral video has captured the grim state of a plane – reportedly a Saudia Airlines flight – and has horrified viewers.
The footage shows the shocking conditions of the toilets, the cubicles themselves and even the cabin.
It was believed to be filmed on an inaugural flight from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia two years ago but has recently resurfaced.
Viewers were utterly disgusted to see liquid seeping under the bathroom doors and being soaked up with bits of material.
The person filming opens the door to reveal the bathroom floor covered in liquid and bits of toilet paper on the floor.
They then walk down the gangway of the plane where bits of tissue paper and other litter are strewn all over the gangway.
The problem is the same the whole way down the gangway – where numerous passengers sit with their legs sticking out into the aisle.
The videographer heads to a different toilet where there seems to be faeces sitting on the floor, as well as tissue paper.
In another toilet, again, liquid can be seen on the floor as well as tissue paper.
A pile of what looks to be faeces can be seen on the right side of the toilet seat.
The person filming does so in silence – passing no open judgement on the horrific scenes.
But viewers of the viral video have openly expressed their disgust. The clip was recently shared on Instagram account passengershaming.
“That’s disgusting,” one person wrote. “This is all too much,’ another added.
A third commented: “Would you do this in your own home? Then don’t do it anywhere else.”
The video was originally posted on Facebook where viewers also expressed their horror.
One wrote: “It’s a disgrace, I would have made them all clean it up.” Another commented: “Imagine the stench.”
One viewer posted: “That is absolutely disgusting. I would hate to see the homes of these people and the hotel rooms.”
Express.co.uk has contacted Saudia Airlines for comment on the footage seen in the clip.
Airline cabin crew posting on Reddit have explained that passengers should never walk around the cabin in bare feet, no matter what the airline.
The gross reason behind this is mostly due to the toilet – you never know what you might step in.
US President Donald Trump further fueled speculation his administration was pushing for regime change in Venezuela, echoing calls from his UN envoy Nikki Haley and Vice President Mike Pence to that effect.
“Venezuela is a mess,” Trump said on Friday. “The place needs to be cleaned up, and people need to be taken care of.” The comment came during a photo-op at the White House with the President of Chile Sebastian Piñera, who is visiting Washington.
Shortly before that, Pence retweeted a photo of Haley addressing a gathering of Venezuelan dissidents in New York on Thursday through a megaphone.
“We’ll continue to hold the regime accountable until democracy is restored,” the vice-president wrote.
The US stands w/the people of Venezuela & against Maduro’s corrupt, failed socialist gov't. The US will provide $ 48M more for Venezuelans affected by the crisis & imposed sanctions on Maduro’s inner circle. We’ll continue to hold the regime accountable until democracy is restored https://t.co/WwWZgO1PvW
— Vice President Mike Pence (@VP) September 28, 2018
“We are going to fight for Venezuela and we are going to continue doing it until Maduro is gone!” Haley had shouted to the crowd, calling for an end to President Nicolas Maduro’s rule. “We need your voices to be loud, and I will tell you, the US voice is going to be loud.”
Haley also retweeted the image, first posted by the US mission to the UN.
“Socialism and corruption have taken freedom away from the people of Venezuela. Proud to join these great people protesting the Maduro dictatorship,” she said.
Trump blasted Maduro’s government in his speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, accusing the “socialist regime” of inflicting “anguish” upon the people that caused over two million to flee the country.
“It’s a regime that frankly could be toppled very quickly by the military, if the military decides to do that,” he told reporters afterward.
