Season five of The Flash is getting super intense since it returned to the CW after its Christmas break this January. Episode 12 will air next week, meaning fans still have another 10 or 11 instalments left of this season. Next week’s episode is called Memorabilia.

When is The Flash season 5, episode 12 on?

Season five of The Flash will continue next Tuesday night on The CW.

Episode three will air on the American broadcaster on Tuesday, January 29.

Titled Memorabilia, here’a look ahead at what will happen next.

What will happen in The Flash season 5, episode 12?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for The Flash season 5

The synopsis for the next episode reads: “BARRY AND IRIS LOOK INTO NORA’S MEMORIES

“When Sherloque (played by Tom Cavanagh) wants to use a memory machine on Barry (Grant Gustin) and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) to help gain access to Grace’s memories, Nora panics, fearing her parents will find out the secrets she’s been keeping from them.

“Nora secretly decides to use the machine on her own which ends in disaster after she gets trapped inside Grace’s mind.

“Barry and Iris go in after their daughter and Iris is brokenhearted by what she finds.

“Meanwhile, Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) tricks Cisco (Carlos Valdes) into going out for a night out on the town.

“Rebecca Johnson directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Kristen Kim (#512).”

HOW MANY EPISODES IN THE FLASH SEASON 5?

A promo trailer released ahead of the episode reveals a few hints about what’s in store also.

It opens with Nora in the lab by herself as the computer is heard saying: “Activating brainwave transmission.”

Looks like Nora is putting on the Thinking Cap – this could spell trouble for Team Flash after Barry’s trouble with the mind machine last season.

Next, Iris says: “Nora’s in trouble – we have to go in after her.”

HOW MANY EPISODES IN SUPERGIRL SEASON 4?

Viewers are told that if someone dies in there, “they die out here” and once inside Barry and Iris look at Nora when she was a child.

The trailer ends with Nora saying: “Dad can’t see my memories.” What could the young speedster be hiding?

A montage of shots set up the episode as Barry is seen going onto super speed to deal with a mysteriously ominous meta who shows up.

Season five villain Cicada (Kevin Klein) is notably absent from the promo but fans certainly haven’t seen the last of him.

The season is now getting into its latter half and a lot could still happen.

The Flash season 5, episode 12 will air on the CW on January 29

eBay will sell sports apparel and memorabilia on ESPN.com https://briefnews.eu/ebay-will-sell-sports-apparel-and-memorabilia-on-espn-com/ https://briefnews.eu/ebay-will-sell-sports-apparel-and-memorabilia-on-espn-com/#respond Tue, 04 Sep 2018 19:35:02 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/ebay-will-sell-sports-apparel-and-memorabilia-on-espn-com/

ESPN and eBay are teaming up to make the latter’s sports equipment, apparel and memorabilia accessible through ESPN.com. Details about how this partnership will be implemented are slim at the moment, but ESPN says this new shopping experience will be delivered through “contextually integrated shopping modules” on web and mobile versions of ESPN.com. Whatever those vague “modules” end up being, the aim is to make eBay’s trove of officially licensed products easier to find and shop when fans are browsing ESPN’s website.

“There are few things people are more passionate about than sports, and the apparel, memorabilia and collectibles associated with our favorite athletes and teams have become an important part of sports fandom,” Suzy Deering, chief marketing officer of eBay Americas, said in a statement. “ESPN and eBay are connecting the world’s largest sports community with the greatest collection of related inventory to deliver shopping experiences when fans are most engaged. Whether it’s immediately following the big game, or when a sports legend is in the headlines, we’ll help fans immediately shop the moment.”

Russell Crowe net worth: Star makes £2.6 million from memorabilia ‘divorce auction’ https://briefnews.eu/russell-crowe-net-worth-star-makes-2-6-million-from-memorabilia-divorce-auction/ https://briefnews.eu/russell-crowe-net-worth-star-makes-2-6-million-from-memorabilia-divorce-auction/#respond Sun, 08 Apr 2018 11:24:51 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/russell-crowe-net-worth-star-makes-2-6-million-from-memorabilia-divorce-auction/

Russell Crowe held a divorce auction in Redfern, Australia, yesterday, which he called ‘The Art of Divorce’ in a bid to make some cash.

The 54-year-old actor, perhaps most famous for his role in blockbuster hit The Gladiator as well as a A Beautiful Mind, aimed to sell memorabilia from his career.

The aim of the event was to fund his divorce from his wife Danielle Spencer.

Divorce is an expensive path to tread, and Hollywood divorces are notorious for their often huge payouts to spouses.

Russell sold collectibles from movies including Doc Martens from Romper Stomper, which sold for around £7,000.

His breast piece from the movie Gladiator sold for a whopping £89,000.

Russell was at the event himself, auctioning off a 1890 Milanese violin crafted by master luthier Leandro Bisiach Sr from the film Master and Commander, which sold for £96,000.

Twitter users piled in to wish Russell luck, and one wrote: “Joking aside, it’s great to hear from you. I hope your auction went as well as you hoped. I’ve always got a pint with your name on it in London.”

Russell replied: “Cheers man. Be happy and busy.”

After the auction Russell tweeted to his followers: “The Art of Divorce. In case anyone is interested … $ 3.7m at the coal face and around $ 350k of conversations ongoing … and a bunch of stuff I didn’t really want to sell coming home.

“Not a bad hourly rate for a 5 hour shift. Hope you are happy and busy.” [sic]

Not bad at all, but how much is Russell Crowe worth?

From one Hollywood heavyweight to another, what is Channing Tatum’s net worth?

Tatum, 37, posted a joint statement on his Twitter account confirming a split from his wife Jenna Dewan, saying that they were on “different paths for now” but would remain “best friends”.

Channing Tatum is an actor, model and dancer, who is best known for his roles in Magic Mike, Step Up and The Vow.

The royal wedding 2018 of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will take place on May 19 2018, and a range of cornflower blue china has been created in the run up to their nuptials.

Unveiled by The Royal Collection Trust, the official china collection will be sold at the Queen’s Gallery shop at Buckingham Palace.

It includes a set of tea cups decorated with Harry and Meghan’s initials. which are said – like the rest of the collection – to be finished in 22 carat gold.

It also includes circular pillboxes with the wedding dates written in gold on the inset, and the couple’s initials inscribed on the lids that go on top.

Finally, royal fans will be able to purchase dinner plates in the same colour palette, with details of the wedding – including the couple’s full names, the venue and the date written around the rim.

The china will be sold in duck egg blue gift boxes to protect the fragile material from chipping.

Prices for the china range will start at £19.95 for a miniature coffee mug, and £25 for a standard sized mug.

Pillboxes will be priced at £35, while tankards cost £39 and plates cost an eye watering £49 each.

Nuala McGourty, Royal Collection Trust’s retail director, said: “Royal Collection Trust is delighted to offer the official range of commemorative china to celebrate this happy occasion.

“We are pleased to continue our support of the potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, who have manufactured our previous commemorative wares to celebrate royal birthdays, anniversaries and weddings.”

The collection is available to buy at the Royal Collection trust shops at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Those who do not live nearby can also purchase the china from the Royal Collection Shop website.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding cake choice was announced earlier in the week.

Claire Ptak, a pastry chef and owner of Violet Cakes, will create the royal wedding cake for the couple, and you could order a very similar creation from their special orders menu.

The couple have chosen a lemon elderflower cake decorated with fresh flowers, the Kensington Palace Twitter account has confirmed in an announcement today.

The announcement read: “For their wedding cake Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen pastry chef Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery @violetcakes.

The esports memorabilia scene is big — and blockchain may make it huge https://briefnews.eu/the-esports-memorabilia-scene-is-big-and-blockchain-may-make-it-huge/ https://briefnews.eu/the-esports-memorabilia-scene-is-big-and-blockchain-may-make-it-huge/#respond Thu, 02 Nov 2017 09:52:30 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-esports-memorabilia-scene-is-big-and-blockchain-may-make-it-huge/

They line the rails along the exits at sporting events – eager fans and autograph collectors, straining to nab that sweaty wristband or scrawled signature from their favorite athletes. For some, it’s pure fan worship. For others, it’s part of a worldwide sports collectible market that totaled more than $ 370 billion in 2016.

Now, there’s a whole new type of sports memorabilia about to become available – in-game assets won by elite esports athletes. One company is paving the way for what could be an incredibly lucrative in-game esports memorabilia marketplace – and it has investors both inside and outside the gaming industry paying close attention.

The system will utilize smart contracts and blockchain technology to provide a unique signature and history of any virtual item in-game item earned. For example, when elite esports athlete Michael “Flamesword” Chavez earns a flaming sword of mega-death in his latest league battle, that item will have the ability to become a valuable – and easily tradable – asset. In other words, you could be using the unique item your favorite player had equipped in their biggest matches.

Memorabilia is big money

The sports collectible marketing is big, big business, especially for in-game assets, as Darren Heitner writes in Forbes. “Only a few years ago, the shoes that Michael wore for his infamous ‘Flu Game’ with the Chicago Bulls during the 1997 NBA Finals sold for over $ 100,000 at auction,” Heitner writes. “The seller once turned down $ 11,000 for the shoes.”

The goods are traded and sold at swap meets, industry events and online auctions; in fact, most sports memorabilia is now being sold online, Heitner continues, in an industry that shows no signs of letting up.

Enter the esport athletes, set amidst a burgeoning esports industry and a growing cult of celebrity surrounding its key players. According to NewZoo’s 2017 Global Esports Market Report, esports revenues are on track to hit an incredible $ 1.5 billion by 2020.

As the business grows, we’re witnessing a rise in the branding and culture around this industry, with the growing popularity of specific teams like Evil Geniuses and organizations like Na’Vi and SK Gaming, for example. As both money and attention flow their way, it’s only natural that esports collectibles and tournament memorabilia will become more and more popular.

Many of these items will look like typical sports collectibles: event posters, team jerseys, individual player gear are all hot properties on eBay and other auction sites. But thanks to blockchain technology, the market for in-game asset trading is about to blow open.

The potential of blockchain

According to DMarket, there are 2.3 billion gamers worldwide. No existing technology yet connects them all in a way that would make it possible to trade, buy and sell in-game items across the gaming environment. That’s why DMarket is out to build the platform to make it happen.

If the idea sounds familiar, it’s because in-game technology does offer this ability, but in a much more limited way. As Panchenko explains, the Steam platform allows in-game trading, but the proceeds remain trapped inside the platform, and it represented only a few games. Still, the massive popularity of the idea – Steam posted $ 3.5 billion in revenue in 2016 – proves there is a tremendous market for this kind of trading.

In August, DMarket announced that they had raised more than $ 1.5 million in support of their new blockchain-based game marketplace. It’s quickly gaining popularity, with a total of just under $ 11 million raised in the last two months. The marketplace will allow gamers to freely trade, buy and sell in-game assets and turn those assets into real spendable currency. The DMarket API will eliminate the need for developers to create their in-game marketplaces on their own, and incentivize them to build rare, collectible items. These key features play right into this idea of esports memorabilia.

“What we’re doing is, in effect, synchronizing hundreds of thousands of gaming databases with each other,” Panchenko notes. “Think of it this way. Steam, SkinsCash and Opskins allow trading within a limited number of games. So about six percent of gamers can now do this kind of cross-game trading. Even with that limited number, they’ve generated $ 4 billion in revenue.

In effect, DMarket’s API solution opens up the in-game market to virtually any developer – and their players – giving the other 94 percent a real opening into this marketplace.

“We’ve talked to a lot of the big game developers already, and we will cover the most popular engines like Unreal, Cry Engine and Unity 3D,” he continues. They’ll cover pay-to-play, free-to-play and pay-to-win business models on any platform including mobile, what he calls a “win-win solution for every gaming market.”

The outlook for esports memorabilia

With esports memorabilia, players will be able to collect items from all the championship finals, or even collect the armor worn by their favorite stars. And all of that history is secured on blockchain technology so that fraud will be virtually non-existent.

Not only does this open up a huge potential market for in-game esports memorabilia, but it also eliminates the vexing problem of fraud that is so rampant in the physical sports collectibles industry. Because the marketplace is built on blockchain technology, each item has a unique and unbreakable digital signature. This means that in-game item cannot be “faked” in the same way that a signature on a baseball might be, adding to the value for serious collectors.

It’s looking like the extension of the market into the rapidly growing world of esports is close to becoming a reality, turning those digital assets into tangible collectibles with real-world value.

Ruth Langford PANICS as she does THIS to priceless James Bond memorabilia https://briefnews.eu/ruth-langford-panics-as-she-does-this-to-priceless-james-bond-memorabilia/ https://briefnews.eu/ruth-langford-panics-as-she-does-this-to-priceless-james-bond-memorabilia/#respond Wed, 02 Aug 2017 12:58:17 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/ruth-langford-panics-as-she-does-this-to-priceless-james-bond-memorabilia/

The 57-year-old ITV presenter looked worried after she accidentally touched a priceless prop from a James Bond film and worn by Sir Roger Moore.

During a segment about the movie memorabilia, Ruth and co-host Eamonn Holmes were seen chatting about iconic props from Hollywood blockbusters.

They were seen wearing white gloves as they handled the various items, which included a Superman costume worn by Christopher Reeves, an outfit from Alien and a Terminator mannequin.

One of the pieces set to be going up for auction was a hat worn by the late Sir Roger Moore in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me.

Ruth was seen picking up the naval hat, before she quickly panicked as she realised she wasn’t wearing the special gloves.

“Oh my god, I’m not supposed to touch it!” she exclaimed as she quickly handed it over to Eamonn, 58, who was more suitably attired.

“I’m so sorry!” she quickly apologised to guest and Prop Store CEO Stephen Lane, who owned the items and whose company would be selling the hat off to collectors.

Ruth hastily put her gloves back on as Eamonn asked if he could wear the hat, leading to some nervousness as Stephen watched on.

When asked whether the sad death of Sir Roger back in May would increase the value of the hat, Stephen explained: “It’s not something that we like to reflect upon too much. It really is about being a significant piece in its own right originally.”

He continued: “When something like this so sadly happens, it certainly raises the profile again and people come back and re-visit and re-watch the movies.”

The hat is set to fetch between £5,000 to £7,000 when it goes under the hammer next month, along with a whole host of other memorabilia

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.25.am.

German military orders that all army barracks be searched for Nazi Wehrmacht memorabilia https://briefnews.eu/german-military-orders-that-all-army-barracks-be-searched-for-nazi-wehrmacht-memorabilia/ https://briefnews.eu/german-military-orders-that-all-army-barracks-be-searched-for-nazi-wehrmacht-memorabilia/#respond Sun, 07 May 2017 12:34:05 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/german-military-orders-that-all-army-barracks-be-searched-for-nazi-wehrmacht-memorabilia/ All barracks and premises of the Bundeswehr will be searched after memorabilia commemorating the Nazi army, the Wehrmacht, were found at Franco-German brigade facilities during an investigation into an army officer suspected of plotting a false flag attack.

Volker Wieker, the chief of staff of the German Army, the Bundeswehr, has ordered that all barracks and buildings used by the military be searched, the German media reported on Sunday. The search for Nazi memorabilia will last until May 16, and the military command will be given a report on the preliminary findings by next Tuesday.

This week, collections of Wehrmacht propaganda posters, military awards, and iconic steel helmets were discovered at army barracks in the towns of Illkirch and Donaueschingen, both home bases of the Franco-German infantry brigade.

The Nazi memorabilia were uncovered during an ongoing investigation into Franco Albrecht, a 28-year-old first lieutenant who was allegedly plotting a hate-motivated terror attack. Investigators said the officer had been living a double life for more than a year, serving in the army while receiving state benefits under a bogus identity as a supposed Syrian refugee.

Albrecht’s plan involved targeting subjects on a “death list,” which included left-wing anti-fascist activists, according to Bild. If his plot had succeeded, his fingerprints, which are contained in a refugee database, would have led investigators to his false identity as an asylum seeker, thus putting the blame on migrants.

The German government said earlier that it would “leave no stone unturned” to establish how the officer, who reportedly has xenophobic views, managed to falsely register as a Syrian refugee, even with no command of Arabic.

Additionally, the Defense Ministry now maintains that the suspect did not act alone and was likely a member of a far-right network consisting of at least five people, Hannoverische Allgemeine newspaper reported.

According to Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, the suspect had speculated on how migrants would bring about the “genocide of the Western European peoples” in his master’s thesis. Though he was required to submit a different thesis, he received no disciplinary penalty for writing the first. The minister said an analysis of his papers leaves no doubt that he harbors “nationalist, racist and far-right views,”according to Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

In a subsequent comment to ZDF, von der Leyen asserted that the Bundeswehr has an “attitude problem” and “clearly has a weakness of leadership on several levels.” In a separate statement, she added that the troops must bear “collective responsibility” for the alleged far-right terror plot. That emotional remark infuriated military commanders, prompting over 100 generals and admirals to demand an apology.

General Harald Kujat, the German Army’s former Inspector General, told Die Welt that von der Leyen’s comments were “unacceptable and disgraceful” for the armed forces, adding that soldiers may steadily lose trust in political leadership.

The opposition supported the minister, however. “Her stance on the Bundeswehr and the state of affairs there deserves respect,” said Klaus Ernst, vice chairman of the Left Party’s parliamentary faction, as cited by the newspaper.

“She is the only post-war minister to speak bluntly about the [far-right] problem in the armed forces,” he added.
