Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman was suspended two games by the NHL on Sunday for interference following his hit on Boston Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy a night earlier.

Hyman had a hearing with the NHL department of player safety earlier Sunday and they announced the suspension later that night.

Hyman was given an interference major on the play in Toronto's 6-3 loss in Boston on Saturday night.

McAvoy had cleared the puck out from behind his own goal-line and was watching the play unfold when Hyman hit him, knocking the Bruins defenceman to the ice.

McAvoy had already missed 20 games this season with a concussion.

The suspension is Hyman's first in his 210-game career.

Hyman will forfeit $ 24,193.54. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Earlier this year the X-Men star was confirmed as the adult version of Bill, last seen played by Jaeden Lieberher in the It movie.

Set 27 years after the events of the first film, It: Chapter 2 sees the Losers Club all grown up in present day.

But when news of Pennywise once again wrecking havoc on the children of Derry, Maine comes apparent, the group return to take him down once more.

Now the shoot has finally begun on It: Chapter 2, as confirmed by the first set photo taken by McAvoy himself.

Posted yesterday, McAvoy wrote on his official Instagram: “Day 1 on IT 2.

“Glad you got the memo guys #passthecheeseplease #derryordairy.”

The picture itself was a shot of the star reflected in a mirror holding a triangle piece of The Laughing Cow cheese.

Sadly McAvoy’s snap doesn’t reveal anything about It: Chapter 2 apart from a poor pun.

The star is joined on It: Chapter 2 by Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh and Bill Hader as Richie Tozer.

These three film star leads were followed by a group of TV actors to make up the supporting cast.

This included another couple announced at once in the form of James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak and Andy Bean as Stanley Uris.

As for Ben Hanscom, a character who goes from chubby kid to handsome hunk, it was Jay Ryan who bagged that role.

And last but not least is Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, who was announced over the weekend.

Speaking with Den of Geek, Skarsgard said: “We’re gearing up for it now, so I’m sort of in the process of getting back into that character of Pennywise. I’m sort of in the mindset and we’re gearing up for it.

“I think they [the Losers Club cast] start in July. I’m not sure exactly when my start date is, but some time this summer.”

It: Chapter Two will be released in UK cinemas on September 6, 2019.

Here’s some exciting It 2 casting news for you: James McAvoy and Bill Hader are now in talks to join the horror sequel. In addition to that, Jessica Chastain, who was previously listed as in talks, is now officially on board. Long live the Losers’ Club.

Early today, word broke that It: Chapter 2 would officially begin filming this summer, which implied that casting announcements couldn’t be far behind. And here we are! The Hollywood Reporter reveals that James McAvoy and Bill Hader are currently in negotiations to join the highly-anticipated horror sequel. THR also confirms that Jessica Chastain, who had previously been listed as in talks, is now officially on board.

If all goes according to plan, McAvoy will play the adult Bill Denbrough, former leader of the Losers’ Club – a group of kids from Derry, Maine who banded together to defeat the evil shape-shifting clown Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard). Jaeden Lieberher played the young Bill in 2017’s It. Hader, meanwhile, will play Richie Tozier, the motor-mouthed, dirty-joke loving member of the group, played in the first film by Finn Wolfhard. Chastain is playing the adult Bev Marsh, the lone girl in the Losers’ Club, previously played by Sophia Lillis. In King’s book, Bill grows up to be a famous horror writer, Richie becomes a famous DJ, and Bev has a renowned career as a fashion designer. There’s no word on if the film version will keep these professions, or change them to something else.

This casting is perfect. Chastain had long been a fan-favorite to take over the part of Bev. Even Sophia Lills herself said she hoped Chastain would play her adult counterpart in the sequel. On top of that, Chastain has a history with It director Andy Muschietti, having appeared in Muschietti’s horror film Mama. McAvoy and Hader are also great additions. I personally would’ve never even thought of McAvoy for the part of adult Bill, but I can totally see it now. Hader’s comedic background will make him perfect to play Richie. Back when /Film ran a list fan-casting the sequel, Jacob Hall listed Hader as his pick to play adult Richie, which indicates Jacob is some sort of psychic and/or wizard.

It and It Chapter 2 are both adapted from Stephen King‘s horror novel It, which tells the tale of a group of childhood friends who battle a supernatural evil as kids, only to have to return to their hometown as adults to battle that same evil again. Director Andy Muschietti and writers Chase Palmer & Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman broke King’s novel up – the first film merely focused on the events from the character’s childhoods. The sequel will now feature the kids all grown-up and forced to return to Derry, Maine. Andy Muschietti will direct the sequel, with Gary Dauberman working on the script, Bill Skarsgard will also return as Pennywise.

The first It was a pleasant surprise. After some behind-the-scenes turmoil (Cary Fukunaga was originally set to direct the film, and spent years developing it), I had worried the adaptation would be a disappointment. Instead, it ended up being one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. On top of that, it became a huge box office hit. I can’t wait for this sequel.

It 2 hits theaters on September 6, 2019.

Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy are both part of blockbuster franchises. While Vikander has Tomb Raider coming up, she also appeared in Jason Bourne not too long ago. Meanwhile, McAvoy will play Professor X for the fourth time in the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix and he’s also reprising his role as The Horde in Glass, a sequel to both Split and Unbreakable. But the two took time out of their schedule to make a more quiet, subdued film from director Wim Wenders.

Submergence follows Danielle Flinders (Vikander) and James More (McAvoy) as they meet in a Normandy hotel, falling for each other romantically before they go off on two very different missions. The distance between them will be great (there’s a literal ocean between them), but their love may be enough to keep them going.

The trailer doesn’t make it entirely clear how this story unfolds, but the official synopsis explains it much more clearly:

Danielle Flinders (Alicia Vikander) and James More (James McAvoy) meet by chance in a remote hotel in Normandy where they both prepare for a dangerous mission. They fall in love almost against their will, but soon recognize in each other the love of their lives. When they have to separate, we find out that James works for the British Secret Service. He’s involved in a mission in Somalia to track down a source for suicide bombers infiltrating Europe. Danielle ‘Danny’ Flinders is a bio-mathematician working on a deep sea diving project to support her theory about the origin of life on our planet. Soon, they are worlds apart. James is taken hostage by Jihadist fighters and has no way of contacting Danny, and she has to go down to the bottom of the ocean in her submersible, not even knowing if James is still alive.

So the story appears to be about how much one can endure with only the memory of love to keep them going. Each character finds themselves isolated from the rest of the world in two differently dangerous situations as they recall the moment they met. It looks like an intimate, intense story about the power of love as only director Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas, The Million Dollar Hotel) can deliver. But is it any good?

Submergence already played at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and Kate Erbland at IndieWire was not impressed. She wrote, “The film revels in playing up hinky parallels that rarely coalesce into anything of much substance.” But she did admit that there’s somewhat of saving grace as “Submergence is only bolstered by a pair of sterling performances from stars Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy, both of whom somehow rise above the lackluster film they’re sunk into.”

The film is based on J.M. Ledgard‘s novel of the same name, adapted by Erin Dignam, and the rest of the cast includes Alexander Siddig, Celyn Jones, and Reda Kateb. Sumbergence hits theaters in the United States starting on April 13, 2018.
