Miz Cracker will Ru the day she decided to mess with Ongina. As seen in this sneak peek from Friday’s Drag Race All Stars (VH1, 8/7c), the queens haven’t forgotten what Cracker said to Ongina atop last week’s episode — and they want an explanation. “My intention was to say, ‘Ongina, I want you to believe in yourself because I need to see that,’” Cracker says. “I went about it wrong. I should have said that, not what I said.” Unsurprisingly, the queens aren’t buying it. “I don’t believe none of this,” Mayhem Miller says. “I’m just going to be real. I smell shenanigans, foolery and some tricks and shows. It’s not feeling authentic.” “All I can do is apologize and say I was wrong,” Cracker replies, to which Alexis Mateo points out that it’s easy for Cracker to admit this now that it’s over. Moving forward, Alexis says, “I want to get to know everybody for real. If I don’t trust you, I’m going to go against you.” But wait, there’s more. Jujubee then chimes in about what Alexis said to Cracker, saying, “I think you’re playing head games — and it’s working on some of these bitches.” So, to recap: Cracker upset Ongina, which irked Mayhem, which riled up Alexis, which troubled Jujubee. Just another day in the All Stars 5 werkroom. The clip also lays out this week’s maxi challenge, which requires the queens to team up and design a “signature suite for a five-star Ru-tique hotel.” Cracker is matched with Mariah Paris Balenciaga and Shea Coulee (who’s “feeling $ 20,000 richer” after last week’s win); Jujubee is joined by India Ferrah and Alexis; and Mayhem is paired with Blair St. Clair. May the best ho(telier)s win! Hit PLAY on the video above for a sneak peek of Friday’s Drag Race All Stars, then drop a comment with your thoughts below. Are the queens being too hard on Cracker — or not hard enough?

Bethesda, Avalanche and id Software have nailed down a release date for Rage 2. The Mad Max-like open world shooter will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 14th, 2019 — almost exactly a year after it was introduced, in fact. The accompanying new trailer doesn’t tell you much that you don’t already know, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Essentially, you can expect punks with guns, a thorough mix of vehicular and on-foot combat, and many creative ways to kill your foes.
Whether or not Rage 2 outshines its predecessor is another matter. The original Rage made some waves in 2010 (in part due to its then-revolutionary game engine), but it wasn’t a breakthrough hit like the Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein games that preceded it. For many players, the sequel might have to stand solely on its own merits.

Who knew Predators could be so funny? Shane Black‘s The Predator takes the Predator franchise and turns into a full-blown comedy. Sure, there’s action and sci-fi mayhem. But humor is the most constant factor here. And it doesn’t always work.
While there have been a handful of amusing moments in the Predator franchise as a whole, no single film goes for as many wall-to-wall jokes as Shane Black’s The Predator. Anyone worrying that Black wouldn’t bring his trademark quips and witticisms to the script (the trailers have been considerably light on this element) need worry no more: The Predator is loaded with jokes. In fact, there might be too many jokes. In some respects, The Predator is like the Thor: Ragnarok of the franchise – the film that takes what came before and turns it all into a pretty funny gag. The Predator is so far removed from 1987’s Predator that to compare them would be unfair. I only bring it up here so that we can move on.
The Predator finds a team of rag-tag military misfits joined together to battle everyone’s favorite mandible-sporting alien trophy hunter. At the start of the film, sniper Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook) runs afoul of a Predator ship that crash-lands in the midst of one of his missions. A secret military agency run by Traeger (Sterling K. Brown, stealing every damn scene he’s in) finds out about this and scoops Quinn up. Traeger and his team have been tracking Predators for years. They’ve even gone ahead and officially named them Predators (one of the film’s running jokes involves characters pointing out that “hunter”, not “predator”, would be a better distinction for the creatures). Traeger has also brought in biologist Casey Bracket (Olivia Munn), who goes gaga over the prospect of studying alien DNA.
In a whiplash-inducing opening sequence, Quinn gathers up some discarded Predator gear and mails it to his estranged wife and son. The son, played by Jacob Tremblay, has a form of autism, and is able to quickly figure out all the gadgets and doodads that come along with the Predator tech. Hard to believe? Absolutely. But that’s the kind of film The Predator is. It doesn’t have time to stop and think about any of this stuff. It just wants to get to the mayhem and the jokes. Which is does, rapidly. Black and company did extensive reshoots on The Predator before release, and the end result is a film with zero fat – but that’s not exactly a good thing. The Predator is in a constant rush, to the point where you have to either throw up your hands and go with it, or disengage completely.
The first act is clunky, but things really pick up when Quinn hooks up with a bus full of rejects, all of whom have their own quirks. Trevante Rhodes is prone to chain-smoking and suicidal thoughts; Keegan-Michael Key compensates for his PTSD with jokes; Augusto Aguilera is a Bible nut; Alfie Allen is…well, I’m not really sure what his deal is – he’s just there; and Thomas Jane has Tourette Syndrome. Key gets the most laughs of the group – but through his timing and reaction to things rather than the jokes his character tells, which are rather groan-inducing. Rhodes is incredibly cool and collected; a magnetic screen presence. And while Jane gives his character his all, the way the film constantly plays his Tourettes as schtick gets real old, real fast.
And what of the Predator? It’s here, in all its deadly glory. While the first film kept the creature off-screen for a good portion of the proceedings, The Predator has its beastie front and center for almost the entire film. And it’s not alone – later, a massive mutated Predator shows up as well, along with some Predator dogs – one of which turns out to be kind of cute and cuddly (I’m not kidding).
As for plot, there’s a lot of mumbo-jumbo about gene splicing and evolution, but let’s be honest: it doesn’t matter. You know this, I know this, and The Predator knows this, because it treats all of these developments as afterthoughts. In fact, when The Predator does stop to slow down and dole out some story, it tends to get boring. You can practically sense the characters all checking their respective watches, waiting for this drudgery to end so they can get back to the action.
Black stages that action in a clear, highly-entertaining way. There are spaceship chases, and crashes. There are shootouts galore. Trucks flip in blasts of fire. The Predator’s movements are swift and brutal, and Black revels in the gore. Limbs fly, guts splash, and heads roll. It sounds ghastly, but almost all of the violence is played for laughs. The Predator is no longer a scary unstoppable force. It’s a punchline. There’s also plenty of fan service – at least two classic lines from Predator are repurposed here, to (mostly) amusing effect.
Is this bent towards comedy a problem? Purists (do Predator purists even exist?) might find fault. Some may long for the franchise to return to its serious roots. After you exit the theater into the real world, the flaws of The Predator become more and more apparent. The plot doesn’t make sense. A lot of the jokes fall flat. There’s a pointless sequel set-up. But while you’re watching the movie, it’s hard not to get caught up in all the fun. Black and company are having a blast here, and it’s infectious.

The theft of an empty turboprop plane by an airline worker at Sea-Tac International Airport who performed dangerous loops before crashing into a remote island in Puget Sound illustrated what aviation experts have long known: One of the biggest potential perils for commercial air travel is airline or airport employees causing mayhem.
Investigators are piecing together how the airline ground agent working his regular shift stole an empty Horizon Air turboprop plane, took off Friday night from Sea-Tac and fatally crashed into the a small island after being chased by military jets that were quickly scrambled.See the rest of the story at Business Insider

Macho, mindless mayhem, it is a throwback to the days of The A-Team and the Dirty Dozen.

When 18-year-old Essex-born contestant Ryan stepped up to take his turn at the cash builder round with Bradley, 57, he appeared confident in his quizzing skills.
During the quick-fire questions, the ITV show’s host asked: “Which Major League Soccer team did Steven Gerrard join in 2015?”
Seemingly dumbfounded with nerves, the player answered “Manchester United,” leaving fans up in arms on Twitter.
“The Chase is unreal. Steven Gerrard joined which MLS team? ‘Manchester United’,” one shocked fan wrote.
Another continued: “Im f**king crying some guy just got asked on the chase what MLS team did Steven Gerrard join in 2015 and he answered Man United f**king idiot lmfao.”
“Which MLS team did Steven Gerrard join? Man Utd. Upon my soul… where do I start… wrong on so many levels #GangOfChase #TheChase,” a third said angrily, followed by: “Contestant answered ‘Manchester United’!!! Wtf…obv not a footie fan.”(sic)
Viewers continued to voice their annoyance with the contestant’s awkward mistake, as one person posted: “#thechase which MLS team did Steven Gerrard join? Man Utd?!?!? What a t**t. Gerrard wouldn’t have gone to United and we wouldn’t have wanted him!”
“I fear for knowledge with the future generations. In that they will have none and history will be lost. #TheChase,” another added.
Meanwhile, the tense instalment also saw the return of The Beast, also known as Mark Labbett, after a mysterious two-week absence.
While the chaser added fuel to the theories surrounding his disappearance by posting a cryptic tweet on his Twitter account, after the show failed to address the lingering concerns of some viewers.
Comedian Bradley declared that the mighty 52-year-old was “one of the greatest brains in Britain” during one question, so it stands to reason that the most popular member of the team is safe.
The Chase continues tomorrow at 5pm on ITV.
Shoppers and protesters combined to make Black Friday 2017 as wild as any other year in the US. Violent incidents in Alabama, St. Louis and Houston set the stage for the rowdiest shopping day of the year.
Shoppers got an early start on Black Friday deals Thursday night at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Alabama. However, it wasn’t long before fights broke out between overeager shoppers trying to scoop up the hottest items at the lowest prices. The commotion subsequently prompted the mall to close at 11:20pm instead of midnight, the Alabama Media Group reported.
The Hoover Police Department responded to the galleria after 11pm because of at least one fight in a store on the mall’s second floor. Reports of gunfire surfaced on social media, but authorities said the reports were never confirmed, and no one was shot. Hoover Police Lieutenant Keith Czeskleba said Friday authorities believe the noises that were reported as gunshots were just the sound of fireworks being set off, Alabama Media Group reported.
One unnamed witness told WBRC that someone in the mall hurled a shoe over a railing, striking an infant.

Reports emerged that several arrests were made following the incidents, but the Hoover Police Department denied the reports, according to the news outlet.
Czeskleba added that the people engaged in the fight “were separated and identified by officers” after police arrived at the scene. No one was arrested, and the individuals involved in the confrontation were treated for minor injuries by paramedics.
On Black Friday, one man was shot and another stabbed during an afternoon fight at Willowbrook Mall in Houston, Texas, according to police, KPRC reported.
The incident was first reported at 12:30pm in the parking lot of the mall, and police said an altercation preceded the shooting.
An unnamed witness told KPRC she heard the argument and hid behind a tree.
“One witness said that she saw two Hispanic males get into a confrontation, she heard a gunshot and at that time she hid behind a tree to protect herself,” Sergeant Richard Rodriguez, who serves as a detective with the Houston Police Homicide division said.
And an unnamed detective told KPRC2 there is surveillance video of the area where the incident occurred, but it has not yet been reviewed.
Also on Friday, at the St. Louis Galleria in Richmond Heights, Missouri, a planned afternoon protest added to the chaos. The protest was announced in November by activists and African-American clergy, and focused on issues ranging from bank loan practices to police treatment of black people, the St. Louis Dispatch reported.
The demonstration set the stage for several arrests, including the detention of Missouri state Representative, Bruce Franks Jr.
The protesters arrived at the mall just after 2pm, and walked through the complex chanting “Shut it down.” Some stores inside the shopping facility pulled down their security gates and shut their doors, trapping shoppers inside in some instances.
Richmond Heights police responded and announced that the protesters had to disperse by 2:25pm, or police would start making arrests. The protesters continued undeterred, and when authorities went in to make an arrest, Representative Franks questioned the officers. The lawmaker was then thrown to the ground, and had his hands tied behind his back. Seven people were arrested. They were all handcuffed and lined up near a store on the mall’s second floor.

Around 50 people, including members of the media and protesters, then came together in front of the St. Louis County Jail in Clayton, where the demonstrators were taken. Some of them vowed to remain there until the detainees were released from custody.
Other Black Friday incidents around the country prompted users on Twitter to share violent exchanges they caught on tape.
One video shows a man being thrown into a display case in what is cited as a Kmart store.
And another video shows three men allegedly fighting over a toy car package at what is said to be a WalMart store.
Meanwhile, across the pond in England, Black Friday proved to be a little more subdued when doors opened at one store.

Remember The Belko Experiment? It came out earlier this year and was a B-movie set in an office building about employees who were forced to kill each other at the behest of a mysterious voice who locked them inside. I found that film to be an ugly and largely pointless exercise in brutality, but if that didn’t scratch your itch for office-set murder movies, perhaps Mayhem, the newest film from director Joe Lynch (Everly), will be more up your alley. It certainly looks like it’s a hell of a lot more fun. Check out a couple of Mayhem trailers below.
There’s also a second trailer which, annoyingly, can’t be embedded anywhere online, but you can watch that one here. That second trailer, while not as slickly edited, does an especially good job of showing off this film’s cheeky vibe, with characters dropping one-liners like “time to go to work” and “consider yourselves notified!”
I know I keep comparing this to The Belko Experiment (sorry, the fact that they’re both being released in the same year makes it inevitable), but this looks like it capitalizes on all of the potential for commentary that Belko squandered, while also leaning into its premise and having tons of fun with its violence. One of the many ways Belko dropped the ball was by not using doing enough to have its characters utilize everyday office supplies as weapons, and it looks like Mayhem is all about finding creative and tongue-in-cheek methods of inflicting violence. Seeing a wrongfully-fired employee get revenge on the greedy corporate fat cats on the top floor of a building as a virus causes unfettered insanity may be exactly the type of catharsis that some of you need right now.
The movie has played at a few film festivals already, and for the most part, critics seem to dig it. Variety calls it “a smartly constructed and sardonically funny indie with attitude,” Bloody-Disgusting says it’s “an independent rager that’s pretty fucking hardcore,” and Nerdist praises its tone and says it “offers more than a few well-earned chuckles and it rockets forward with such reckless enthusiasm that it’s hard to not get caught up in the ultra-violent insanity.” We look forward to checking it out for ourselves.
Derek Cho (Steven Yeun, “The Walking Dead”) is having a really bad day. After being unjustly fired from his job, he discovers that the law firm’s building is under quarantine for a mysterious and dangerous virus. Chaos erupts throughout the office as the victims of the disease begin acting out their wildest impulses. Joining forces with a former client (Samara Weaving, “Ash vs Evil Dead”) who has a grudge of her own, Derek savagely fights tooth and nail to get to the executives on the top floor and settle the score once and for all.
Mayhem arrives in theaters, VOD, and Digital HD on November 10, 2017.
