Khalil Mack’s holdout paid off.
Just hours after a shocking trade sent the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year from the Oakland Raiders to the Chicago Bears, the Bears reportedly gave Mack a monster, six-year extension worth $ 141 million that will make him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL.See the rest of the story at Business Insider

But where the model really shines is with its more functional details. Lifting up the forward hinged hood reveals a tiny version of a Mackdiesel inline-six engine. And when the truck moves, you can see the six little pistons moving up and down. Sure on the real thing you wouldn’t be able to see the pistons moving because of the cylinder head, but we’ll take the trade-off for the added fun. The wheels steer, of course, and they can be turned using a little knob on the back of the trailer for easy turning while pushing it around.
The trailer has a hitch that slides into the receiver at the back of the truck. It also has a support that flips down to keep it up when not attached. Most interesting is the flat bed trailer’s elaborate cargo lift system. It has two large arms that drop down to provide extra stability to the trailer and truck. Large arms then lift up the container with chains and can then move over to drop it down onto the ground.

Then, if you ever get bored with the Mack Anthem, you can tear it all down and build another Mack truck. This kit allows you to build a Mack LR garbage truck and a big dumpster with the same parts. The resulting trash hauler has an opening rear hatch and forward trash door and a fully functional front lifting fork. The only downside is that you can’t have both the semi-truck and the trash truck at the same time unless you buy two kits.
Speaking of buying kits, you’ll need to fork over $ 179.99, not including shipping and tax, to make this Lego kit your own. That’s not particularly cheap, but it is a pretty enormous kit with 2,595 pieces. Also it’s awesome. Did we say that already?

TVLine invited Henry Simmons and Natalia Cordova-Buckley to preview the obstacles that Mack and Yo-Yo will bump up against in their plan to liberate the Lighthouse, as well as weigh in (and perhaps elaborate?) on the latest batch of time-travel teases.
TVLINE | Mack and Yo-Yo found the weapons and tech stash on Level 3, they’re liberating everybody from their metrics…. What is next? What’s the plan?
HENRY SIMMONS | The plan is to emancipate the human race, from the oppression of the Kree.
TVLINE | Oh, that’s all.
SIMMONS | Let me just say, right off the bat — I want to give a shout-out to [co-showrunners] Mo [Tancharoen] and Jed Whedon and [executive producer] Jeff Bell for giving minorities the power, on TV, to rise up against oppression and free everyone. I think it’s awesome, just awesome, and I want to give them a shout out.
NATALIA CORDOVA-BUCKLEY | I agree.
TVLINE | As Mack and Yo-Yo go about this mission, are they on the same page or might their be conflicting philosophies?
SIMMONS | Listen, these are two strong individuals that are very opinionated and very strong-willed, so there is the problem of getting on the same page. Yo-Yo is the kind of person that is very impulsive and acts before planning, and Mack is the opposite. We’ve seen him reluctant to do things before planning them out first. But in this instance, there’s urgency, and you’re trying to involve the [remaining] human race to get behind us and fight the Kree. So yeah, there’s going to be bickering because they have different philosophies of how things should be done. Also, there’s a degree of Mack that doesn’t want to see Yo-Yo get harmed, even though she’s strong and obviously can take care of herself. But the way his love manifests itself, he wants to protect her.
TVLINE | Would you say the affection between the characters further complicates their conflicts, or does it ultimately help guide them?
CORDOVA-BUCKLEY | I think it helps guide them. I love the relationship between Mack and Yo-Yo because it’s rarely seen, such a mature relationship, one where the people in it are so secure. Usually on these kinds of shows you see relationships between young superheroes who aren’t really settled within themselves, but Mack and Yo-Yo are competent people in who they are. The bickering is just part of the plan, of figuring each other out. For them, every obstacle is just a challenge to make them stronger. The writers have always had them jump the obstacles together.
The whole Framework thing, losing Hope, could have been something that wrecked the relationship — if Mack blamed Yo-Yo for it, or she guilted herself for taking him away from this daughter. But at the core, they’re very similar. They always know they’ll arrive at the same destination; the flights are just going to be different.
TVLINE | At the time of filming this episode, did either of you have a firm-ish grasp in this season’s time travel aspect? Like, whether or not there is even a timeline where the agents don’t get taken from the diner? Or did last episode’s download only make your head spin faster?
SIMMONS | Whew. Oh boy…
CORDOVA-BUCKLEY | I’m still confused!
SIMMONS | [Laughs]
TVLINE | Like, Natalia, you had the scenes where Yo-Yo talked about how Mack was “gone,” where she had the Kree axe and was ready to do some damage….
CORDOVA-BUCKLEY | When we shot that scene, it confused the hell out of me, because they wouldn’t tell me anything.
SIMMONS | Yeah.
CORDOVA-BUCKLEY | There’s a big thing in that scene that is happening with Yo-Yo that I didn’t know when I shot it. We’re all just as lost as you! Only the writers room is not lost. What I will say is that in that episode, in that flash-forward we saw, where Yo-Yo is ready to take revenge, saying, “I lost faith a long time ago” to Melinda — what I loved about that is that for Yo-Yo, her faith is Mack. We see that in the first episodes I ever did, where she says to him, “Don’t lose faith, Alfonso Mackenzie.” He becomes her faith as they face the world together. And finally in this flash forward we see her say that Mack is “gone” and she’s lost her faith, which goes to show that even if they’re such different people, they really complement each other and they keep each other strong. I now know what happens between the present and that future, and I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s going to show us who Yo-Yo would become without Mack.
SIMMONS | Hmmm….
TVLINE | So, clarity is on the horizon for we the viewers.
CORDOVA-BUCKLEY | Yes. Maybe not the crystal clarity that you want and deserve, but a little bit!

Disney Channel’s Andi Mack is about to make history… again.
Already considered groundbreaking for its handling of unconventional pregnancies — the show’s titular character (played by Peyton Elizabeth Lee) learns that her “older sister” is actually her mother — the coming-of-age dramedy will soon introduce the network’s first gay character.
For Andi Mack, discovering that her “older sister” is actually her mother — and that her “mother” is actually her grandmother — was a lot to process. And that was just Season 1.

Semi-trucks exist on a whole other plane of the automotive landscape. Their purpose is totally different than anything else on the road, and therefore have a whole host of distinct requirements and priorities. Still, these trucks and their owners have many of the same issues and concerns as the typical Toyota Camry or Honda CR-V owner. At this week’s Mack Global Dealer Summit in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mack Trucks unveiled the Anthem, its answer to long-haul transportation problems.
Mack has been building trucks for 117 years, longer than most mainstream automakers have been around. It knows its market. Looking over the details, the Anthem seems more a rolling studio apartment with brash styling than a typical, soot-covered semi.
The all-new exterior has been designed to maximize fuel economy, improving aerodynamics over existing trucks. These trucks measure fuel economy in fractions of a gallon, so every little drop counts. It gets a new hood, mirror covers, front bumper, chassis fairings and a bold grille with a huge Mack emblem. Aero testing was performed at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Little things like the latch system make the hood easier to open, saving time during inspections. All exterior lighting is now LED, drawing far less energy than before.
The interior has been redesigned to place all necessary controls and gauges in even more convenient places for the driver. The instrument panel has been raised to be more in a driver’s forward sight line while the HVAC and shifter controls have moved closer to the seat. The switches for cruise control and traction control now feature laser etching to help them last longer with prolonged use. The flat-bottom steering wheel allows better ingress and egress. It also features controls for the Bluetooth audio system. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and a TomTom navigation system. It’s compatible with 3rd-party backup cameras.
The sleeper area is 35 percent larger than existing models. The 70-inch version provides room for taller drivers to stand in the cab. Multiple configurations are available, with up to 27 cubic feet of storage. There’s a mount for up to a 24-inch TV and a small refrigerator on the passenger side. There are HVAC controls in the back as well as a 120-volt outlet and USB power. Like the exterior, all interior lighting is LED.
Two massive diesel engines are available. The 11-liter Mack MP7 makes 425 horsepower and 1,560 pound-feet of torque. Stepping up the 13-liter Mack MP8 give drivers 505 horsepower and 1,860 pound-feet of torque. Both engines have been designed to allow easy access to service areas with things like two-piece valve covers. A new intake throttle helps the truck warm up more quickly after a cold start. Both engines come with Mack’s 12-speed mDRIVE automated-manual transmission. The computer measures speed, load and grade to determine the right gear — 13- and 14-speed transmissions are available.
Orders have been opened, though deliveries won’t start until early 2018.

Swimming: Mack Horton cruises to World Championships.

Mack Horton won the distance treble at the national champs.
MACK Horton is looking for the switch.
When the Olympic 400m champion stunned an all-star field that included fellow Gold medallist Kyle Chalmers and race favourite Cam McEvoy to claim the national 200m freestyle title last week, thoughts immediately switched to the prospect of swimming the middle and long-distance trifecta at July’s world championships and then at the Tokyo Olympics.
Prior to Horton’s clean sweep at the Chandler Aquatic centre last week, Grant Hackett in 2008 was the last person to hold the 200m, 400m, and 1500m national titles.
And no Australian has ever won all three at an Olympics, with Daniel Kowalski’s effort in Atlanta in 1996 where he claimed silver in the 1500m and bronze in the 200m and 400m the nation’s best performance.

“It is a pretty big task,’’ Horton said.
“I would like to be able to do it, it is just a matter being able to find the balance in training.”
Horton believes it is not the physical drain of racing all three events that makes it so daunting but the ability to train for three different pace requirements, with three different stroke rates.
His problem at this stage of his career is that he has not mastered the ability to switch between them on demand.
“They are all different strokes so to change throughout a week and be at a high level is difficult,’’ he said.
“For me some weeks I am good at 1500m and others better at 400m or whatever.
“I think if I was going to go down that path I need to be able to just flick a switch basically and go between 200m pace and 400m pace.

“Instead, if I’m doing a 200m pace set in training it takes me a minimum of 400m to find 200m pace stroke.
“So it is tough trying to get to that sort of position.’’
Kowalski believes Horton can do it. He said the speed he found to medal in a the 200m came from the way his great rival Kieran Perkins swam his pet event the 1500m.
He did not know Horton’s motivation but said a spot on the 200m relay team was as good as any, and believed if continued to train all three distances he would be capable of racing them at a major event provided he mastered his recovery practices.
“I honestly think it is psychological over physical, your body can do it if you get your recovery right,’’ he said.
“You have to get your mindset right so you can say, today I’m racing 8 laps, or 16 or 30.
“We say it is an individual sport but you can’t beat a relay and in all fairness that 200m relay has underperformed in recent years and they have the ability to be very, very competitive, especially with the emergence of Kyle Chalmers as a 200m swimmer.’’

Swimming: Emma McKeon has defended her national title in the 200m freestyle as well as qualifying for her third event for the World Championships.

OLYMPIC champion Mack Horton became the first man since Grant Hackett in 2008 to claim the distance trifecta with victory in the 1500m freestyle on the final night of competition at the national titles.
Horton won the 200m, 400m and 1500m here at Chandler but has yet to decide if he will keep the 200m in his schedule for the world championships.
It doesn’t happen often but the Olympic 400m champion was upstaged by another distance swimmer – teenage sensation Ariarne Titmus who announced herself as the next big star of Australian swimming when she smashed her personal best by four seconds to claim the 400m women’s crown.
The 16-year-old from Hobart, who now swims out of St Peters Western in Brisbane, also won the 800m and is on a collision course with US sensation Katie Ledecky in Budapest.

“It’s a great experience to be able to race the best in the world so I am looking forward to that,’’ he said.
It was also a memorable meet for Emma McKeon who produced a personal best of 2.07.37 to claim her third national title of the meet in the 200m butterfly.
She also won the 100m butterfly and the 200m freestyle and finished second in the 100m freestyle in a qualifying time.
Emily Seebhom, who qualified for a record equalling sixth world championships team, also had a superb week finishing with victory in the 200IM, the 21st national title of her career.
Due to the unavailability of several seasoned stars, there is a mix of youth and experience in the side selected last night to go to Hungary.
Head coach Jacco Verhaeren said Australian swimming was in a transition period and it was important for long term planning for the Tokyo Olympics to blood new faces.
“It’s truly exciting; because it is a reflection of where we are at this year,’’ he said.
“It is a true transition year but with the right people on board for a world championships, not all medal winners because you can’t expect that from a young team as this, but it is a very important step in their careers.’’

Jess Ashwood is the latest Olympian to pull out of the team.
Ashwood qualified for the 800m freestyle on opening night but did not race in the 400m after informing Swimming Australia officials she was not available for the team because she has decided to fulfil university commitments this year.
Former world champions Cate Campbell and James Magnussen and Rio Olympians Thomas Fraser-Holmes and Maddi Groves are others who made themselves unavailable.
Verhaeren said he had approved the training programs of the swimmers who won’t be competing in Budapest.
All the swimmers remain on Swimming Australia funding for the year.
“I’m ok with people who withdraw from a team as long as its backed up by a solid plan that allows them to return next year on the Gold Coast, making the team and having some good swims there,’’ he said.
“Every athlete has their own story and particularly post Olympics there are particular reasons to pull off a team.
“For me they were good reasons.’’
