Kym popped up on-screen after taking time out from Morning Live presenting duties to recover from an operation at home.

“Happy birthday, Geth. See you soon. Mwah,” Kym said as she blew her co-host a kiss.

Again touched by the message, Gethin reacted: “Awww, she’s been really poorly this week and we’ve been chatting every day this week and she can’t wait to get back,

“So thank you for that Kym,” he signed off.

Morning Live continues weekdays at 9:15am on BBC One.

Oti Mabuse snaps at Rylan as Strictly Come Dancing host exposes Bill’s ‘unfair advantage’ https://briefnews.eu/oti-mabuse-snaps-at-rylan-as-strictly-come-dancing-host-exposes-bills-unfair-advantage/ https://briefnews.eu/oti-mabuse-snaps-at-rylan-as-strictly-come-dancing-host-exposes-bills-unfair-advantage/#respond Thu, 03 Dec 2020 21:37:48 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/oti-mabuse-snaps-at-rylan-as-strictly-come-dancing-host-exposes-bills-unfair-advantage/

Otis Mabuse, 30, is currently on course to secure her second consecutive win on Strictly Come Dancing with amateur dancer Bill, 55. With the pair being the bookmakers’ favourites to claim victory, the couple are still hard at work rehearsing to ensure they secure a place in the grand final of the BBC dance show. However, speaking ahead of performing the Argentine Tango on Saturday night, It Takes Two star Rylan, 32, seemed to suggest the comedian had a better chance of winning than the others, with the professional dancer trying to shut the presenter down.

Following a discussion of Oti’s past performing an Argentine Tango on the programme, Rylan said: “I don’t like to bring this up because I don’t like to start the rumour mill but you guys have an unfair advantage.”

“No, don’t start with that on It Takes Two,” the professional dancer hit back, with the presenter then explaining it had something to do with food.

Speaking directly to Bill, the host said: “Your lovely wife has been cooking for the pair of you. Some of the supplies being Japanese Burgers, a Chicken, Chilli and Tortilla Soup and Coriander Marinated Grilled Salmon.”

The reigning champion then relaxed her posture as she applauded her contestant’s other half for supplying them with energy.

“We’ve got to thank Kris [Bailey] because she is working very hard,” the presenter added, before telling the comedian his spouse had left him something in a gold box.

Reaching down to the side of the sofa to retrieve the item, which was a meal for them to enjoy after rehearsing all day.

The “unfair advantage” means with Bill’s spouse cooking him and Oti dinners, they can put more time into training instead of worrying about what they’re going to eat.

Taking to her Twitter account last week, the professional dancer shared a snap of one of Kris’ creations she had made for the couple.

In view of her 148,800 social media followers, the trained performer: “Everyday Mrs Bailey makes us lunch and dinner.”

According to latest odds from Coral bookmakers, it seems Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, 31, could be making an exit from the competition this weekend.

At 11/10, he is the favourite to be knocked out of the semi-final, with former Royal Marine JJ Chalmers, 33, also in contention to leave.

Spokesperson John Hill said: “Our betting says Jamie Laing and JJ Chalmers need a big performance to survive this weekend as they head the elimination betting.”

Leading the charge to victory is comedian Bill who looks set to win the Glitterball Trophy as his chances of winning stand at 8/11.

“In the outright market, it remains one-way traffic for Bill Bailey who is clearly the one to beat in the final stages of the series,” Hill added.

Not far behind the comedian is singer and chart-topper HRVY, 21, whose chances of winning currently stand at 5/2.

EastEnders actress and soap star Maisie Smith stands at 6/1 to become champion, giving her a possible second Strictly title to put to her name after securing victory in last year’s Children in Need special.

Good Morning Britain news reporter Ranvir Singh, 43, sits at 12/1 to win the grand final which airs next weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7:15pm on BBC One. It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6:30pm on BBC Two.

During Friday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, hosts Ben Shephard, 45, and Kate Garraway, 53, discussed the likelihood of Anton becoming a judge.

With Nicola Adams, 38, and Katya Jones, 31, also pulling out of the show after the latter tested positive for COVID-19, the journalists discussed bringing back Jacqui into the competition which could be a challenge as her professional partner is reported to be replacing Motsi.

As Kate explained this to her co-star, he said the judge who is self-isolating could still offer a critique from home.

“They’re not going to get Anton to sit at the desk because they would have got Anton to do it by now,” the Tipping Point star remarked.

Strictly Come Dancing 2020: Oti Mabuse demands big show change after Kelvin Fletcher win https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2020-oti-mabuse-demands-big-show-change-after-kelvin-fletcher-win/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2020-oti-mabuse-demands-big-show-change-after-kelvin-fletcher-win/#respond Sat, 29 Feb 2020 16:49:05 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2020-oti-mabuse-demands-big-show-change-after-kelvin-fletcher-win/

Last year however, the South African professional Latin American and Ballroom dancer had one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Initially she was partnered with Jamie Laing, but after the first few weeks of rehearsals, the Made in Chelsea star had to forego his place in the competition due to an injury.

Former Emmerdale star Kelvin was snapped up at the last minute and his sexy Samba for week one kicked off his Strictly journey.

Together, they wowed the judges and viewers alike with their high-scoring and intricate dance routines.

Strictly Come Dancing: Oti Mabuse QUITS over Kelvin Fletcher friendship jeopardising job? https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-oti-mabuse-quits-over-kelvin-fletcher-friendship-jeopardising-job/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-oti-mabuse-quits-over-kelvin-fletcher-friendship-jeopardising-job/#respond Thu, 13 Feb 2020 23:16:42 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-oti-mabuse-quits-over-kelvin-fletcher-friendship-jeopardising-job/

A BBC source told SunOnline: “Oti is a massive asset for the show, but at the moment she is very unhappy and upset at all the reports and has been left saying ‘do I really need all this BS?’.

“She is married and has a lot of respect for Kelvin’s wife and wouldn’t carry on in this way.”

At the end of January in an interview with Express.co.uk, the professional dancer laughed off the rumours of romance and admitted her husband Marius Iepure, 37, even encouraged her to get close to Kelvin during their saucy Rumba performance.

The dancer went on to gush about her long-term spouse about his understanding of the dance industry as she revealed they will have babies in the future, but not yet.

Strictly Come Dancing bosses signed Kelvin Fletcher up at the last minute to replace Jamie Laing who pulled out of the competition due to an injury. Partnered with Oti Mabuse, he stormed onto the dance floor in week one with an incredibly sexy Samba. 13 weeks later, hundreds of hours of rehearsals, he and Oti lifted the Glitterball Trophy tonight and joined the former winner’s of the show in the hall of fame.

Earlier this evening, Kelvin, Karim and Emma each performed three dances; a judges pick, a show dance and then their favourite dance.

Kelvin chose to perform his week four Rumba and scored 39 points from the judges.

His show dance however wowed the judges and he was awarded a perfect score of 40.

Finishing off his finale dance trio, he took to the dance floor for the final time with partner Oti and their week one Samba.

Kelvin then addressed Oti: “Oti, thank you for the most amazing experience of my life. Thank you to Emma and Karim, Anton and Amy and all the pros and all the celebrities.

“The whole production, the judges, those at home – everyone who has supported me, I feel so proud to be part of this.”

Oti, who was crying, eventually said: “Honestly, I’ve been on this show for five years and I have never, ever met any celeb who gives his heart and soul.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Oti Mabuse confesses real reason Kelvin didn’t score 40 https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2019-oti-mabuse-confesses-real-reason-kelvin-didnt-score-40/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2019-oti-mabuse-confesses-real-reason-kelvin-didnt-score-40/#respond Fri, 22 Nov 2019 13:04:30 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-2019-oti-mabuse-confesses-real-reason-kelvin-didnt-score-40/

Kelvin Fletcher flicked and kicked his way on the Blackpool Tower dance floor last weekend as him and Oti Mabuse mastered the Jive on Strictly Come Dancing. The pair gave a clean performance that was full of energy but notoriously harsh judge Craig Revel Horwood still found fault with the routine. During an appearance on It Takes Two, Oti explained why she thinks the judge held back from giving them a perfect score.

Last weekend on the BBC show, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli all gave the couple 10s and simply offered words of praise without any points of improvement.

Shirley commented: “I’m speechless, I don’t know where to start but I do want to mention your flicks and your kicks, contra body, opposite arm to foot all the way through.

“You’re coordination was superb, that’s all I can say about that. You mixed your swing, you had some Jive, you had great action.”

“You owned it, you gave it, you controlled it, I was impressed,” Shirley added.

In Blackpool, Karim and Amy Dowden put on a cheeky Charleston which also received 39 from the judges.

Critiquing Karim’s dance, Craig added: “Clean, tight, precise. It was fantastic absolutely brilliant.”

Despite not offering any words of criticism, Craig still decided to gave Karim a nine.

Viewers were outraged by Craig’s decision not to give either Kelvin or Karim a 10 and flocked to social media to comment.

One said: “Got the feeling Craig is jealous of Kelvin and Karim and can’t bring himself to get the 10 paddle out. #Strictly #strictlyblackpool.”

Another added: “@bbcstrictly Craig is so mean. Kelvin & Oti, Karim & Amy should of got 10, robbed! #strictly.”

“I’m calling the police cause Amy and Karim have been robbed #StrictlyComeDancing 2019,” another said.

Another exclaimed: “Why does Craig have to be so difficult!!! Just give Kelvin a blimmin 10! That was 40 worthy! #strictly #strictlycomedancing @bbcstrictly.”

Motsi Mabuse goes MISSING live on Strictly in on-air blunder ‘what the hell was she doing? https://briefnews.eu/motsi-mabuse-goes-missing-live-on-strictly-in-on-air-blunder-what-the-hell-was-she-doing/ https://briefnews.eu/motsi-mabuse-goes-missing-live-on-strictly-in-on-air-blunder-what-the-hell-was-she-doing/#respond Sun, 17 Nov 2019 14:18:01 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/motsi-mabuse-goes-missing-live-on-strictly-in-on-air-blunder-what-the-hell-was-she-doing/

Strictly Come Dancing kicked off live from the Blackpool Tower last night and BBC One viewers tuned in to see the remaining seven famous faces take to the iconic dance floor. However, after hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the celebrity contestants, they brought on the judges. But Motsi Mabuse was noticeably absent. Where was she in the opening number?

Up first to make her grand entrance was Motsi, followed by Bruno Tonioli holding a candy floss cane.

Shirley Ballas came out third holding a beachball and then Craig Revel Horwood completed the judging line-up with a fluffy pink cowgirl hat.

The judges then danced their way across the iconic dance floor to join one another.

But Motsi was no where to be seen.

“Where’s Motsi gone? #Strictly,” a fan added.

While another tweet read: “LOL Motsi getting lost. #Strictly.”

“Better late then never Motsi, always great to make an entrance lol #Strictly,” one wrote.

Yesterday, those watching at home saw a variety of dances performance.

From Street/Commercial performed by Michelle Visage to Chris Ramsey opening the show with a wild Salsa.

BBC One viewers saw both Kelvin Fletcher and Karim Zeroual narrowly missing out on getting the perfect score.

What is it going to take for Craig to lift the 10 paddle?

Strictly Come Dancing: Anton Du Beke speaks out after losing judging role to Motsi Mabuse https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-anton-du-beke-speaks-out-after-losing-judging-role-to-motsi-mabuse/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-anton-du-beke-speaks-out-after-losing-judging-role-to-motsi-mabuse/#respond Tue, 23 Jul 2019 18:22:34 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-come-dancing-anton-du-beke-speaks-out-after-losing-judging-role-to-motsi-mabuse/

Anton, 53, was one of the hot favourites to replace Darcey, 50, when the former Strictly Come Dancing judge announced her exit from the BBC dance show earlier this year.

The Strictly veteran wasn’t the only professional rumoured to take the role, with Oti Mabuse, 28, also in the running.

Yesterday, it was announced Oti’s sister Motsi would be taking over the role, joining the panel alongside Shirley Ballas, 58, Craig Revel-Horwood, 54, and Bruno Tonioli, 63.

Even though it was never confirmed Anton was in the running for the job, the professional has now resounded to the news by congratulating the newcomer.

Anton took to Twitter today to repost the official announcement made by the official Strictly account yesterday which read: “Meet our incredible new Judge Motsi Mabuse! She’ll join Craig, Bruno and Shirley when #Strictly returns in the Autumn.”

Commenting on the news, Anton wrote: “Welcome to the family Motsi!

“You’re going to have a great time. Can’t wait to get started! x,” the professional added with fans reacting to Anton’s response to the news.

Some were hoping he would take the role, as one wrote: “I’m gutted you didn’t get the nod Anton x.”

Another added: “I would’ve loved if you had got the job,” as a third shared: “Nooooo it should’ve been you!”

In light of the news, Motsi’s sister Oti also took to social media yesterday, retweeting the same announcement and commenting: “Yayyyy!!!! Da da da dadada daaaaa- da dada da da.”

READ MORE: Strictly Come Dancing 2019 rumoured line-up: Who will be on Strictly this year?

According to recent reports from The Sun, Oti wouldn’t have taken on the role due to her status on the show, which would’ve been problematic for Anton too.

A source claimed Oti wouldn’t have been allowed to become a judge as: “The thought was that the other dancers wouldn’t react well to Oti being a judge.

“She is popular, but if the dynamic changed and she went from being one of them into another role on the show it’s likely that this would cause friction and upset,” the source continued.

Earlier this year and after Darcey’s announcement, it was revealed all the professionals excluding Pasha Kovalev, 39, would be returning to their roles on the show.

This had already made it unlikely either Anton, Oti or another professional set to be partnered with a celebrity would be joining the judging panel.

Head judge Shirley also reacted to the news, taking to Twitter and stating: “Thrilled to welcome the fabulous @MOTSI_MABUSE to the @bbcstrictly family.

“What exciting news! We are going to have a ball, and you’re going to love every second xxx.”

Following the announcement yesterday, Motsi said in a statement released by the BBC: “I am absolutely overjoyed to be joining the Strictly judging panel.

“I have so much respect and admiration for the other three judges and hope to add my own bit of sparkle to the show.

“I can’t wait to get started!” the new judge exclaimed, having held a similar role on the German version of Strictly, Let’s Dance Germany.

Strictly Come Dancing returns later this year on BBC One.
